**** We we’re vacationing in Newport Beach,CA.and y mom lost four small wedding bands while sitting at the beach for a day, After realizing the loss, she fretted all day and hesitated saying anything to our group because she’s assure they were gone forever. Around 10:00 pm she finally us about her missing rings and we knew we couldn’t find them ourselves. We thought we could rent a metal detector and while searching for somewhere to do that, we came across Stan’s name. We decided to trust the reviews and were grateful to know there was someone with experience who could help us out.

After calling Stan, we were BLOWN AWAY at his excitement, service and desire to help. We put out the call at 11:00 pm and he wanted to go out hunting right away. We met him at the beach 20 minutes later and had all four rings within w5 min. Truly an amazing experience! Stan went above and beyond what we’d expected and was so kind and genuine.He turned something horrible into an amazing experience for my whole family!!!

*** Michael and his family are in Southern California visiting from Fresno, CA. His son Brayden lost his phone the night before in the sand at Sunset Beach, CA. . Michael called me early asking for help. He said the Find My IPhone app showed the phone still on the beach as we talked. 

I asked him to send me a screen shot of what showed up on the app. Also asked him to take a screenshot of google map with a pin placed as close to location. He was willing to meet me after they finished their morning appointment. I felt I had enough information and was off to the location. 

Arriving at the location before 8 am, I began a grid search from the towel line back 30ft. After 20 minutes I spotted the iPhone in plain sight. The next person walking down the beach could have easily found the phone. The problem is that phones that are locked can be difficult to return to the owner. 

I contacted Michael and he was able to stop by to pick up phone. They had not told his son, Brayden that the phone was found. They introduced me to Brayden and I was able to surprise him with his iPhone. They were all happy that they could drive home to Fresno without the disappointment of losing the phone.

Lost Koa & Turquoise Inlaid Ring at Ulua Lagoon Ko Olina Resort…FOUND!!!

This ring find began while I was hunting Ulua Lagoon for a visitor. While on the extreme North side Paul from Las Vegas Nevada approached me and asked if I could assist him in finding a Koa and Turquoise Inlaid ring. He lost it the evening before while relaxing in the shallow water. Then he said, « Oh never mind its wood & stone. » I said, « It has to have a base metal! » And Paul said, « I guess your right. » He pointed to the area in the water he was sitting with his girlfriend and I immediately started a quick grid search. There were some children in the way and when they moved I continued and immediately got a screaming 16-18 on the Nox. I looked over at Paul and said I’ll bet this is it. In one scoop as the sand drained out there shining in the scoop was Paul’s unique ring. Nice way to end my hunt. Aloha to Paul!

18K GOLD WEDDING RING LOST AT HUNTINGTON BEACH FOUND AND RETURNED

I was metal detecting one Saturday afternoon on a warm June day last month, down by the water in Huntington Beach. I was  finding a few coins here and there, when I got a loud signal and said to myself wouldn’t it be nice if it was a gold ring. Well, one scoop and there it was, a large man’s white gold ring. I was surprised and happy. I took a photo when I got to my car and sent it  to my friend Stan a fellow ring finder and said « first one of the year ». I hadn’t done a lot of detecting for over the year due to a car accident and an illness, so my day ended on A good note. I got an unexpected call on Tuesday morning on the way to play tennis, my friend Stan called me and let me know that a guy named Jeremy from Colorado was visiting California on the previous Saturday and lost his wedding ring, my friend said it sounded like the same  one I found. He gave me Jeremy’s phone number so I called him after tennis, We exchanged photos, and it turns out the ring was his. It really is  a small world. I sent his ring out that day, and he had it back on his finger by Friday. He was so happy to be reunited with his ring and I was glad to help a nice person. Just another example of how Ringfinders is a great website that brings joy to so many people.

Ring lost at Mission Bay Found

Sebastian took his ring off to apply some lotion, and forgot about it until later when it was time to leave. He had been paddle boarding that afternoon too, so, it could have been in the water or dry sand….he just couldn’t remember for sure if he put it back on at one point or not. He and his parents Ed and Karen sifted and raked through the dry sand for hours, all the way down to the water’s edge and couldn’t find it. In talking with some other folks there at the beach, a suggestion was made to find someone with a metal detector to help locate the ring. An online search brought them to TheRingFinders.com site where they got my contact info. I received the call at about 8pm and made arrangements to meet Ed and Karen at 8:30pm. We found each other easily at the parking lot and made our way over to where they had been camped that day. When they told me it was a silver ring, that put a smile on my face as those are a lot easier to find on a trashy beach than a gold one. This wasn’t just any dime store silver ring though! It was custom made by Sebastian’s grandfather who has since passed away. Sebastian was devastated losing it, so this just had to be found. Ok, man’s silver ring…..that should be a nice high conductor sound…..like a quarter (30 reading on my Equinox). On the first pass, that’s what my first target was, a 30, Alright, found it right away….not! Just a quarter like my machine told me. Drat, or words to that effect when his ring wasn’t in the scoop! I continued all the way to the water,  made a return pass to the top of the slope, and started down the next pass only hearing low conductors, when I got a 19 on the display. Hmm, not likely it’s the ring, most likely a crusty zinc cent, but, it was high enough to scoop anyway. Well, no one was more surprised  than I was finding his beautiful silver ring in the basket. Ed and Karen were over the moon with appreciation for getting this family heirloom back. Karen put the ring on her finger, took a photo, and texted it to Sebastian. All he texted back was OMG over and over again. Just as we were all done and ready to leave, the fireworks started across the bay at SeaWorld. An appropriate celebration on a successful recovery! A pleasure to meet you, and thank you for the reward.

Lost – Gold and Silver Men’s Swiss Army dress watch – Kitty Hawk, Outer Banks, NC – FOUND!!

I got a Facebook message at 8:45 pm.  I did not see it until the next day.  The message read:  “Please help friends at Kitty Hawk.  He thinks he misplaced his watch at the beach just above the tide mark. (Soft sand) Swiss Army Men’s Officer’s dress watch.  His wife has a matching one only smaller. (Very sentimental)

I called and talked with Sally.  She told me that they were leaving today at 10am.  I met them at the site after 7:30am.

I started the XP up at the water’s edge (as usual) and worked toward the cottage.  Only a few hits but no watch.  Bill was very meticulous.  Yesterday, when the watch turned up missing, he had recorded directional heading from the cottage to where they had been on the beach.  From that he was able to mark a 30-yard search area near the water.  Yet, no watch!

I continued up over the dune along the walk path.  Bill had mentioned previously mentioned that they had a bag on the beach that was emptied under the house in a sandy area.  I decided to check knowing that if this didn’t work, I would have to come back at low tide and probably go in the water.

Big hit!  The Deus II screamed at me.  I knew it was the watch.  It had worked its way down to about 5 inches in the sand.

I knocked on the cottage door and presented the watch.  Billy and Sally were thrilled!

Erin called me yesterday about her friend Katie’s lost engagment ring. Katie lost her ring on the beach in Ocean City, NJ. The ring dropped in the sand while she was applying sunsceen. I met Erin’s husband, Bill, on the beach and he showed me the area it was lost. After a very quick search with my metal detector, the engagement ring was found.

Engagement Ring recovered in Sunset Beach / Huntington Beach

Annalise put all six of her rings on a towel before she went into the water. When she came back she partially picked up her towel and launched her rings into the sand. Annalise was able to find five out of six rings with her engagement ring the one she couldn’t find.

Her friend Allie quickly found my website on the internet and they called me right away. I was onsite within fifteen minutes and my first target was her ring. She was overwhelmed with emotions as she just got engaged in April.

lost fishing pole and sunglasses recovered in Lake Geneva, WI

I was contacted by a person who was out fishing from his kayak when he accidently knocked his fishing pole into about 40ft of water, then while trying to make a quick grab also lost his sunglasses.  I met him down by the launch a few days later and was able to utilize my ROV (remote operated vehicle) to make the recoveries.  After about an hour and a half both items were recovered.  The visibility in the water was pretty clear which made using the ROV a lot easier.

Ring Found Orange Beach Alabama

I just returned to my vehicle after water testing my detector at Pensacola Beach when I received a call from Suzanne. She and her family were on vacation at Orange Beach Alabama, it was high tide and surf was about 1 to 2 foot. Her daughter in law lost her beautiful wedding ring in waist to chest deep water somewhere about 40 or 50 yards from shore in a area about maybe 40 yards wide and asked if I would find it! I said I would do my best and I would be there in an hour. It was a large area and the surf made it very difficult to make sure every square foot was hunted. I ended up setting my scoop on every step so I could reposition if moved off track by the surf. The family had made friends with just about everyone on the beach so there was a good audience. Everyone was wishing me luck on my hunt and some didn’t think it was possible to find a little ring buried in sand underwater! It took me maybe two and a half hour to search the area with no luck. I went back to the family and together we reaccessed the area to search. Suzanne waded to the area and distance off shore she thought was the spot making a vertical line and her son stood on shore at the spot he thought was right and set the horizontal line. Between the two spots I started a search grid and overlapped by about ten feet in either direction as I slowly moved closer to shore a foot at a time. Suzanne stayed close while I was searching and we talked a bit. Suddenly I got a signal and called to her “this sounds like a good signal” and carefully set my scoop to prevent damage or a scratch to the ring. She was there before I could raise the scoop anticipating the wayward ring, anxiously waiting the sand to drain from scoop and suddenly a glint of gold, then she had it in her hand. She raised her arms with ring in hand and announced her daughter in law’s ring was recovered!!! The family and their many friend cheered. Everyone in the family was smiling and relieved, emergency over, no more worries. I was happy I was able to make everything right again, made my day!
