Lina called about the loss of her Grandmother’s ring. Her Grandmother had been on the front porch when with a flick of the wrist her ring flew off into the yard to a place unseen. They had been looking for it for 3 days with no luck, so we made arrangements for me to come out a search for her.

I got there and asked the Grandmother to explain what happened, but she did not speak English, so Lina was able to help me with the interpretation. After she explained the loss, I began to search. I looked through a wood pile, some furniture, and other odds and ends with no luck. I then turned on my detector and went work scanning the ground. It was just a few passes, and a couple of times with the pin pointer, and I found the ring. It had been in the dirt with just a dusting of the dirt over it, but the color of the dirt was almost the color of the ring, so even if you were looking directly at it you would find it difficult seeing it. Anyway Lina’s Grandmother was very happy to have her ring back

It was dark already when I received the call from Haithum about a lost ring in the sand at the beach. Knowing that beach, and how it is cleaned all the time with machines, I let him know I would come right away.

He let me know that there was a run going on at the moment, and I thought it should not be a big deal until got to the area, and found it was a Nike After Dark run with thousands of ladies participating. Because of the limited beach parking, and sheer number of the crowds, I ended up having to park about 3 miles from the area of the loss. I got there a bit later than I thought I would because it was up and down coastal hills all the way to the beach, and found Haithum and his fiance Kalyn. They showed me where she had been sitting and what she did to lose the ring as well as where they believed it went. I began my search, and covered all that area, and then began to search out of the box. I found the ring behind where she thought it would have been. Funny how those rings never go where you think they went. The two had only been engaged for one month, so getting that beautiful ring back on Kalyn’s finger was special,

Avenal contacted me about his lost wedding ring. He and friends were playing volleyball, when in the process of hitting the ball, his ring came off and disappeared in the sand. After much looking he got with me, and I let him know I would be coming to help soon.

Hunter contacted me after he lost his ring in a volleyball court at the beach. I was able to go when he called, so I left to help him right away.

I got a text from Gabe this afternoon about a lost necklace. It seemed that he had lost his grandfathers gold necklace at Puerco Beach in Malibu. I had a tight window of time to see if I could make the recovery so I gathered my gear and made the drive to Malibu.

Once there I did my best to get to the location Gabe thought he may have lost it in. The beach had some erosion due to the recent storms and I began to grid the area where it was thought to be lost. After many passes on both sides of the area it became apparent that the necklace had been lost somewhere else on the beach so I moved down onto the slope. Tim called about a lost ring in the sand at the beach. He had lost it the day before, so I let him know that I would be there quickly because the beach is metal detected a lot, and gets machine cleaned by county a lot. This is a ring that had come from Sri Lanka, so it would be hard to replace.

I got there, and Tim met me. He led me to the area of the loss, showed me what happened, and it wasn’t long before he was wearing his ring again. He was very happy, and I was happy to be able to be a help to him.

Emile called about The Ringfinders service wondering if I would be able to help him find a gold dog tag that was originally his mothers, so it was very sentimental to him. I was able to do the search, so I left right away.

When I got there Emile led me over to the area he believed the tag came off, and explained what happened to cause the loss. I began my grid, and made pass after pass while finding a bit of trash metal. Then there was a good strong signal, and I dug, bringing up this nice looking dog tag. Emile was very happy to have it back, because it meant so much to him.

I got a text from Milissa at about 11:00 PM stating she had been at the beach earlier in the day and lost her bracelet. I knew this beach is machine cleaned daily, so getting there for the search was important. She was not going to be able to meet me there to show me where to look, so I needed pictures, and coordinates to know where the loss occurred. I received from her what I believed was enough information, and left for the search.

It was around 12:00 AM when I arrived at the beach. There was no where to park, so I had to find a side street, but everything was « No Parking Any Time ». I won’t tell where I parked, but I did find a place where I believed my car would not be bothered, and had to walk about a mile to the beach. When I got to the spot I commenced my search, and after almost 2 hours I found her bracelet. I sent Milissa a picture to be sure. She was still awake to confirm that what I found was hers. We arranged the next day to meet so I could return her bracelet. When she got it back, she told me that it had been her Great Grandmother’s bracelet, so it had great sentimental value.

Aron called after he lost his wedding ring at the beach. I was ready to go, and left right away to help him find it.
