James had been doing some gardening for a lady in Pasadena when somewhere in the garden his ring was gone. James had only been married two months, so this ring was very important. The lady he was working for contacted me and asked if I could come and help him. I let her know I was available immediately and would come right over.

When I got there James and his client met me and showed me the garden which was covered in very thick bushes that he had been working to cut back. He showed me where he had been working, and also that he had thrown out some of the cuttings already. I began in the area he had been working, and around some of the areas he had been as well. No ring found. We then went over to the trash cans and dumped them for a search just in case it had come off while he was throwing the cuttings in them. No ring again. Time now to search « Out of the Box ». I started looking in areas that did not seem logical, but I know from experience that that is how I need to think for some searches. Then while looking under a bush that was in the wrong place, I received a great signal, looked, and found his ring. What great day!

Erin contacted me hoping I could help her. It was later in the evening and she had lost her wedding and engagement rings while at the beach earlier in the day. She and her family were unable to find them and seemed to have lost a bit of hope until they found my site. I let them know that even though it was late, I would meet them at the beach for a search, to which they agreed, and I was on my way.

Erin and her father-in-law met me at the area of the loss and showed me what had happened. They had marked the area, so they had a good idea of where to look, that always helps me to help the person I am doing a search for. I began my grid up, back, and up again. I got a good signal and scooped up her wedding band. I went over the spot again, but nothing. I then turned the direction of the swing over the spot again and got another good signal on the engagement ring. I figured I did not hear it on the first pass because it had « parachuted » into the sand and was vertical and turned so that it would only sound to a particular direction. Anyway, I was able to make Erin’s day, and also ensure a good night’s sleep for her.

I was contacted by Laura who had lost beloved bracelet at the beach after a surf session and was hoping I could help her find it. I let her know that I was available to meet her there as soon as she could get back there. She agreed, and I was headed out for the search.

I got to the beach a little before Laura, and got my equipment together for the search. Laura arrived shortly after and walked me over to the area where she believed the loss to have occurred. I was ready and began a grid pattern search. Pass after pass finding a few coins, and some trash metal, but no bracelet. I expanded the search area as I continued, and then finally received a very solid signal, dug, and found the missing jewelry. Laura was very happy to have her bracelet back. Her beautiful smile says it all.

I was contacted by Kirill who was with a friend when she lost her ring that had been a gift from years earlier. It was later in the evening, and I asked if they would be able to wait for me, as I would leave immediately to come and do the search. They said they could, so I was on my way.

When I got there it took a bit of communication to find them in the darkness, but once found Kirill and his friend Gerda took me out to the area they believed the ring was lost. They explained what had happened, and they had been searching for the ring with no luck. I got my equipment ready and began my search. it took me no more than 5 minutes, and there was that sweet tone in my headphones that told me I had found something good. I dug, and in my scoop was a nice gold ring which I reached in and held up for them to see. Gerda was very happy to have her sentimental ring back, and I was happy to have been able to find it for her.

Special Silver Ring Lost in Yard in Palos Verdes…Found and Happily Returned.

Leonard called because he had lost his silver ring in his yard while throwing a ball to his dogs. It was a special gift from a friend, so it had a certain sentimental value for him. We arranged a time for me to do the search, and I went to help him in the recovery.

When I got there Leonard took me into the backyard where he showed me where the loss took place. There were a couple of planters and some bushes lining a grassy area, and not too far from the side of the area was a short fence that divided the yard from a brushy hillside. I began with the most likely area first in front of where he made the throw. Not finding the ring I began to work my way out of what would have been the line of the throw into the bushes and planters out to where the ball ended up; still no ring. I was sure hoping it did not go over the fence into the hillside brush. Before I started looking over the fence, I began to work the bushes behind the throwing point, and off to the side of where he had been standing. When sweeping under one of the bushes I got a good signal, lifted to branches, and there it was. I lifted it up to show them, and they showed such surprise that it had ended up there. I believe that « Out of the Box » thinking is what makes The Ring Finders so successful. Sometimes it just isn’t where you think it is. So glad to be a help that day.

Lost Silver Ring in Tauranga Bay Sand Dune – Found by the Ring Finders!

  • from Paihia (New Zealand)
Ring Finder – Ring Recovery Specialist…Lost ring? Lost necklace? Lost keys?… Metal Detector Service – Call ASAP 021 401626
First recovery for 2022.
Andy was enjoying New Years Eve on the beach at Tauranga Bay near Whangaroa Harbour, and as he kicked back to make himself comfortable in the loose sand of the dunes, he felt his jandals slip off his feet. Over the hours, they got progressively buried in the steep and mobile dry sand dune.
But this isn’t a story of a jandal recovery.
In the pitch black, as he sifted through the sand looking for his now buried jandals, he felt his precious silver ring slip off and vanish into the sand.
He gave me a call today just as I was getting prepped to leave for another lost ring in the sea at Cable Bay an hour further north.
I made an earlier start and detoured out to Tauranga Bay en route.
Searching the area was a matter of trying to maintain tight control of the coil in a controlled slide down the dune, followed by a hard three steps up- slide two back, slog up to the top again. Great exercise in the midday summer sun…
I cleared the initially indicated area, and as Andy wasn’t exactly sure where he had been, I started to open up the search pattern – keeping a half eye on the time as I had to catch low tide up in Doubtless Bay for the other lost ring recovery. If necessary I could return to this one, but time and tide waits for no-one.
Halfway down the dune, about 6 or 7 metres from where Andy thought he had been, I picked up a bright silver tone.
The scoop went in, the dry sand flowed out through the holes like water leaving a lovely bark-textured silver ring behind.
Holding it up to Andy, it was met with a huge grin!
Then into the car, and off to Doubtless Bay for recovery number two… leaving Andy to continue to look for his jandals buried in the sand at the new location where I had found the ring

May called somewhat distressed. She had been brushing the sand off of her child at the beach when she snagged the chain around her neck that held the gold coin pendant that her mother had given her, and it was gone in an instant. It had just happened so I knew the prospect of a recovery was very good. I let her know I was on my way.

I found May when I got to the beach, and she showed me what had happened, and where the loss took place. I began my grid, and swept over the sand pass after pass, finally ending up near the bike path when I got a great solid gold signal, dug, and had the pendant in the scoop. I held it up for her, and she became very emotional, as did her mother who also happened to be there. It was a pleasure to have been able to help her that day.

Ring lost at South Mission Beach found

  • from La Jolla (California, United States)

Robyn was going to play some volleyball, so, she took off her wedding band and engagement ring and tied them to her pants. After the game, she discovered the tie had come loose and the rings missing. The search was on! She, and her husband of 6 months, Alex, and others combed through the sand of the volleyball court, but, all in vain. It just so happened that a former client of mine was walking by while they were searching, and recommended that they call me for help. Alex gave me a call about 5pm, explained the situation, and we made arrangements to meet right away. I arrived about 5 :45, met everyone, and they showed me the likely search area…..mainly the volleyball court, the area around it, and also the path they took to and from their nearby beachfront rental. After several passes on my grid search of one half of the volleyball court, I was just about at the far edge of that area, when I got a nice solid 6 on my Equinox. I stuck the pinpointer into the sand, found the target, and scooped up a handful of sand. Robyn came over to see what my first target was, and she was happy to see one ring in my hand. we then looked down to see the engagement ring sticking up out of the sand. 6pm and all is well! A pleasure to meet you, I hope you had a pleasant visit here in San Diego, and thank you for the reward.

Meredith contacted me regarding an engagement ring she lost the night before at the Griffith Park Haunted Hayride. She had been there with her fiancé when after the ride was over she stood up to get off, and her loose fitting engagement ring slid off of her finger, and was lost somewhere in the hay. She and her fiancé, along with some of the staff stayed until 3 AM searching for her ring with no luck. We arranged a time to meet there, and I was on my way.

When I arrived Meredith and her fiancé Mehrdod had emptied the hay from the area of the loss from the trailer onto a tarp, and spread it out, so I began my search there. I went over the hay very carefully, but there was no ring there. I then went into the trailer to search the remaining hay but was unable to find it there. There were gaps in the floor of the trailer that a ring could easily fall through, so I got under the trailer and searched; nothing. I then repeated the whole search again to make sure nothing was missed, and again no ring. I asked if this was the area where she disembarked, and she said no it was another area. We went to the place where she stood to get off of the ride, and I began to search there. She and her fiancé were doing something in another part of this spot when I got a great signal, put the pin pointer in, and found her ring. I walked over with her ring hidden in my hand, and asked an inquiring question, to which she walked over to Mehrdod to discuss it with him. It was at that time I held up my hand with her ring, and asked, « Are we looking for this? » Meredith got very emotional at that point with joy, and later said that that was the best « jump scare » she had ever had. She then told me that they were getting married in 12 days; WOW! What a pleasure it is to see that kind of joy restored in a person’s life! What a great day!

It was pretty late one night when Tim contacted me. He had lost his ring at a beach club in their volley ball court, and after about 1 1/2 hours of searching was unable to find it. He wanted to know if I would be willing to go back the next day and do a search, but I told him I would do the search this night if he would send me the information showing me exactly where to look, because time is the real enemy of a successful search. He agreed, and after the information came I was on my way.

All the parking was shut down for the night so the only place I could park was about 2 miles away at the pier. For situations such as this I bring a folding bike with me. I unfolded my bike, strapped my detector and scoop on my back, and rode the bike path to the search area. I was able to find the area quickly, and began my search. It took just a couple of minutes, and I had Tim’s ring in my hand. I let him know it was found, and we arranged to meet the next day for the return. He was very happy that it was found, and happy that I was willing to go to do the search late the night before, to which I exclaimed that it was my pleasure to do so!
