Topsail Beach Ring Lost In Surf Found By Crystal Coast Ring Finders

  • from Emerald Isle (North Carolina, United States)

Doug and his wife Kim were spending Father’s Day with their kids at Topsail Beach, NC.  Doug was in the surf using a boogie/body board and upon arrival back to their beach setup, Doug removed the tight wrist band of the boogie board.  It was shortly after that he noticed his wedding band was missing.  After the family searched the beach, Doug called Crystal Coast Ring Finders.  I headed their way as soon as possible.  Upon arrival, the tide had subsided and after searching around the beach chairs, a search began in the wet sand and surf.  Less than 10 minutes later, Doug’s wedding band gave a very strong signal and was pulled from the beach.  It was a hot day and I think they were very happy to finally leave the beach and possibly a meal.

Thank you Doug & Kim

Wedding Band Lost After Topsail Beach Swim Found By Crystal Coast Ring Finders

Justin and his family were spending the day at a Topsail Beach.  As they were enjoying the day and a beach swim, Justin began to dry his arms and hands on his beach towel.  He felt the ring fly off of his finger but didn’t see where it had landed.  He knew there must be some way to find a person who metal detects to come to his rescue.  Within minutes, he found The Ring Finders and called me to help him recover his ring of almost 9 years.   I told Justin I would load up and begin the 1:30 hour drive.  Upon arrival, and after a few brain fog moments of my own, I began to search the beach.  On about the 3 pass, Justin removed the sun shade that was in the path and  I hit another signal but wasn’t too sure it was Justin’s ring.   As I placed my detector down to further investigate the iffy signal, the Minelab Equinox 800 coil landed upon a strong 12 signal.  I looked up at Justin and said « I think that is your ring »  Sure enough from under the coil and out of the sand, I lifted up Justin’s wedding band.  He was thrilled because he was leaving to head back home very soon!

The Ring’s Out Of The Bag At Surf City Beach & Found The Same Day

Austin & Abbey were spending a wonderful May day at the Surf City beach.  Abbey’s ring was placed in a bag they had brought along and it believed her ring escaped while retrieving a cell phone from the same bag.  Panic set in and they frantically searched the sand unsuccessfully.

Austin’s father is a beach metal detectorist and was aware of The Ring Finders.  He called me shortly afterwards and I explained I was in Ohio for a college graduation.  I also told him I have a few select friends I trust to help when I become unavailable.  Justin was called and I immediately sent him the contact information as well as the information I knew about the lost ring.  It didn’t take long after Justin’s arrival that Abbey had her ring back in her hand.

A Friend Steps In To Assist, And Find A Lost Wedding Band On Topsail Beach

Charles was playing volleyball on the beach and soon afterwards noticed his platinum wedding band was missing. After a hour of searching, Charles called Crystal Coast Ring Finders.  I explained to Charles that I was currently out of the state of North Carolina and would be for a few more days.  I did tell him I have trustworthy friends I call upon at times I am unavailable to search lost items.  Once scheduling allowed, my friend Carl agreed to contact Charles and set up a time to meet and search.

Charles was very good at knowing the approximate area for Carl to start and within 10 minutes, Carl’s Minelab Equinox 800 reported a good 22 signal for Carl to investigate and sure enough, it was Charles lost ring.

Taylor texted me August 15th with a message stating, « This is a complete shot in the dark but I lost a ring in the last week of July at Topsail Island »

This class ring belonged to her mother.  Taylor said she was given the ring when she was 6 years old and has worn it off and on for nearly twenty years.

She informed me the ring was lost above the high tide line.  I explained that the odds are low especially if it was lost in the ocean or close to a public parking access as other detectorist hunt these places on a regular basis.  Taylor still wanted me to give it a shot and my reply was « I agree.  If nobody searches, there is no hope.  We have found rings that were lost a longer period of time… »  Upon arrival, I was becoming concerned as there were 2 public parking lots within 150 yards of the beach house her family rented.  I started from the path to the beach house, walked just below the high tide line. I began my walk back towards the house when an iffy signal on my Minelab CTX-3030 caught my attention.  When on a recovery search, I dig almost every signal so my scoop went to work and plucked out her ring on the very first scoop.  I must admit, it even surprised me!  I was so very happy to find her ring that had been lost for 20 days.

Contact Crystal Coast Ring Finders and let Steve Ray help save the day!!!

Marshall informed me his ring was loose and before going out for a swim, placed it under a sun shade the family placed on North Topsail Beach.   At some point, the ring was dropped into the soft sand beneath the canopy.  Marshall contacted Crystal Coast Ring Finders the next morning.  He knew it was in a very small area and after digging up a broken zipper, his shiny ring was found a few inches away.  He was shocked his wife wasn’t extremely upset when he notified her of the lost ring and now, things are back where they belong.

Mother’s Ring Lost During Surf City Fishing Trip Found And Returned

  • from Emerald Isle (North Carolina, United States)

Lori & Herb were fishing in a favorite location on the Surf City beach.  This place was extra special to Lori as she had placed a few of her mother’s ashes in this location last year on her mother’s birthday July 13th.  Her mother had plans to visit Surf City but unfortunately, due to her health wasn’t able to travel to this very nice town.  Lori had always loved her mother’s ring growing up and when her mother passed away, Lori informed me it was the only item she wanted to hold onto as a keepsake of her mother and her parents 54 years of marriage.

While fishing the coastline just before sunset, Lori had went down to the water’s edge to wash her hands after baiting a hook.  The surf came in and her mother’s cherished ring slid off and buried into the sand.  Lori frantically tried to dig it back out of the beach sand.  Herb advised her it may not be a good idea as the movement could cause it to sink more or even be tossed to another location.  Herb followed a local Metal Detecting group on social media and immediately posted a plea for help.  My friend Justin saw this post just a couple of minutes afterwards and informed me to contact Herb ASAP.  Herb was amazed at how fast we contacted him and both Justin and I headed in their direction.  Fortunately, the tide was going out, so I knew we’d find the ring in the wet sand.  Upon arrival, Herb & Lori wisely marked the area with a glow in the dark stick since the sun had already set.  We began a search and my 1st target was a solid 12-07 on my Minelab CTX-3030.  One scoop into the sand and my Garrett Pro-Pointer AT sounded off on a golf ball size clump of sand. It was then, I noticed the white gold peeking out.  I grabbed the whole piece and placed into Lori’s hands.  She didn’t seem to believe what she was seeing as her mother’s ring was once more back in her possession.  Lori’s was filled with emotion and relief!  We had a very enjoyable conversation afterwards an as it was getting late, we parted ways.  I hope to see them on the beach again soon.

Lost Ring On Topsail Island Found By Crystal Coast Ring Finders

John & Sophie arrived at their North Topsail, NC beach house one day prior for a family vacation with great views and weather.  John had taken his wedding band of many years off to swim in the ocean.  The beach chairs were moved a few times because of the incoming tide and were eventually folded up and returned to the house.  John called me later that afternoon the ask if I could be of assistance.  Upon arrival John showed me the boundaries for my search.  There were very little signs of metal in the sand and at one point, I wondered if I had the correct search settings.  After a crusty penny, my next signal was a strong soda tab signal.  This time it was just the opposite!  John’s white gold wedding band was peaking up from the sand after my first try to brush the sand away from the target.  If I remember correctly, I think John said « well how about that! »   John told the neighbors that he didn’t need to sleep outside tonight!

Topsail Beach Lost Rings Found With Metal Detector

Chase was relaxing at Topsail Beach, NC.  When it was time to leave his group packed up the gear and headed back to the house.  It was then he realized he had removed his rings for safe keeping.  Later that day his father called Emerald Isle Metal Detecting.  I was preoccupied so I messaged a nearby friend to see if he would help.  Because of a Midnight tide Justin made plans for a late night hunt the very day the rings were lost.  Thankfully, Chase and his father remembered the general area they had set up and this made for a much shorter search and find.   After Justin found the 1st ring, he was able to locate the 2nd ring about 10 feet away.
