Beautiful White Gold Wedding Band and Anniversary Ring Lost in North Myrtle Beach SC, Found and Returned

I received a very early morning message from Brianna saying she had lost her rings and wanted to know if I could help find it. I replied asking the usual questions about time, location on the beach, and any additional details. By 10 am I hadn’t heard anything, so I messaged her asking her to call me. If the rings had been lost in the water I had a small window of opportunity because low tide was at noon. She called a short time later and gave me the details. She said that her family had been sitting near the high tide line and she had put her rings in her grandmother’s bag for safe keeping. Her and her husband had gone swimming in the ocean and having a good time. After leaving the beach, and some time later in the day, she asked her grandmother for her rings. Guess what, no rings in the bag! While they were still at the beach, her grandfather, Frank, had gone in the bag and removed his cell phone, so they concluded that’s when the rings had to have fallen out. I told her I had a couple of things to do and I’d text her when I was on my way.

I arrived about 30 minutes later and met her and Frank walking down the sidewalk towards the beach. Once on the beach, I asked a few more questions including what I was looking for. Brianna showed me a picture of the ring and I asked if it was white gold, she responded it was silver. Looking at the picture, I was pretty sure I was looking for a white gold ring, but I kept both options open so I knew what to look for as far as numbers on my Equinox. Frank pointed out two areas they had been sitting at, so I started a grid search in the one that he was pretty sure was where he grabbed his phone. The beach was already very crowded, and my search areas were shrinking. I searched the 10X20 foot area finding only a few junk targets. I started searching the second area and Frank said that Brianna thought they were a little further out towards the water in the first area, and Frank thought they might have been a little further south. Ok, I finished up the second area and moved back to the first area and extended the search out to cover both Frank and Brianna’s areas. In the course of doing the grid, I had to ask a couple of groups if they would mind moving a little so I could search the areas they were in. Once I explained what I was looking for, I had no problems. Just a few steps past one of the groups I got a strong signal with a 10 on the Equinox 800, which was exactly what I was looking for with a White Gold ring. One scoop and I had it out of the hole, spread the sand out with my foot and saw the sparkle of diamonds looking up at me. I picked it up, blew the sand off, and turned around holding the ring up for Brianna to see. I could see her shock, eyes the size of quarters, and mouthing “you found it?” By the time she ran down the beach to me, the tears were flowing. Evidently, she had told a number of people on the beach what was going on because I got a nice round of applause and people wanting to see her ring once I gave it back to her. All returns are fantastic, but these types are extra special. Grandpa’s out of the dog house, big smile on Brianna’s face, all is good again!

Lost ring in Far West, Utah: Found

Before Mike started working in the yard, he slipped off the wedding ring that he had been wearing for more than three decades and dropped it into his pocket. Then he weeded and hoed in the garden, cleaned in and around the fish pond, and rested on the porch for a few minutes before realizing that the ring was no longer in his pocket. He and his wife searched, but they didn’t find it. Next, they found a place to rent a metal detector, but they couldn’t make it work right. What they didn’t realize was that their yard was plagued by the bane of metal detectorists: underground power lines. If there are power lines in the ground or in the air, searching with a metal detector is very difficult. So, their next step was to contact a Ring Finder. I got the call yesterday afternoon, and was able to drive up to Weber County that evening. Mike and Christie were very nice and very happy to see me. I adjusted my detector to deal with the buried power lines, and went to work. I searched the garden. No ring. I searched in and around the fish pond. No ring. I searched around the porch. Still no ring. Then I started searching the lawn, and found the ring hidden in the grass! Another happy ending!

Calvin called on Tuesday asking for help in finding his girlfriends lost Mothers ring. He had given to her a few month ago, 14k white gold with 2 red and 1 yellow stone. She lost it after falling into a lake 2 days prior.

We agreed to meet Friday evening after my class. I beat Calvin to the spot and were met by Jessica’s stepmom and dad. They showed me the area that Jessica fell into the lake.

I started my search. It didn’t take long before I had the ring in my scoop, 10 minutes of detecting is all it took. Calvin wasn’t there yet. I continued to search the lake until Calvin arrived.

Calvin came up to introduce himself and tell me that I was searching in the wrong area. He held out his hand to shake mine. In my hand was Jessica’s ring.

The look on his face was priceless when he realized that the ring was in both of our hands as we shook. He finally said no way! before he took his hand away to look.

He was so happy. He said that Jessica doesn’t know that he called me, and thinks he is working a side job. He wasn’t sure how he was going to give it to her. They had borrowed a detector to search earlier in the week with no luck.

I love my hobby!!

Lost Wedding Ring in Mount Laurel NJ Found by Dave Milsted

Jessica called to ask if I could locate her husbands lost wedding ring. He had been playing ball with their dog in the back yard.
I agreed to search a few days after her call. I would be looking for a large silver tungsten ring.
I arrived at the location and was met by Jessica’s daughter. She showed me the back yard and the approximate area that her dad was standing and the direction he threw the ball.
I got started. I immediately found a pull tab. The next signal was the ring. Jessica’s daughter was amazed by how quick I found it. They had been searching for it every night. It took less then 5 minutes.
Jessica called me later to thank me for my help.

Lost/Recovered Platinum Wedding Set At Cape Henlopen State Park In Lewes, Delaware

On 06/29/19 at 11:58 am, I received an email from Carmel regarding the loss of her two Platinum Wedding Rings and a request for help in finding them. Carmel said that upon arriving at the beach she had removed the rings from her hand and placed them in her bag that was sitting on top of the sand. Carmel said that she had a « bad » feeling about putting the rings in the bag, but she did so anyway. Carmel said that one of her children had gone into her bag for something and that her rings must have fallen out of the bag into the sand because she had been unable to find the rings in her bag when she went to look for them. Carmel said that they searched the sand for the two rings and that they were unable to find them. Carmel said that she had planned on staying at the beach for a couple more hours so I asked her to secure the area where the rings had been lost and that I would come to the beach to search for the rings after I was able to get free from something that I was working on. I arrived at the beach about two hours later, made contact with Carmel and began the search for the lost rings. After three swings of the detector I located the engagement ring and then started the search for the wedding band which was promptly found several inches away from where the engagement ring was recovered. The rings belonging to Carmel were back on her finger where they belonged.

Lost Ring Recovered Minneapolis Lake Scuba Detecting

Jordan and his wife were enjoying their honeymoon in Minnesota, hitting the local lakes. While swimming at a popular Minneapolis lake, Jordan felt his brand new platinum wedding ring slip off his finger. The area was approx. 5 to 6 feet deep. He borrowed some swim goggles and searched to no avail. Rings usually end up under the silt or sand right away, making it very hard to recover visually. After an internet search on how to find missing rings, « theringfinders.com » came up and in no time we had set up a search for the following morning. Tracy’s husband, Tony called me from Laguna Beach, CA. a couple of hours after she lost her diamond ring in the dry sand. Tracy had put her ring on her lap while applying sunscreen. After getting distracted she stood up and the ring fell into the sand. After a half hour she realized what had happened. The whole family searched dragging their fingers through the sand without success.

The lifeguard had suggested that they google search TheRingFinders.com. Tony called me for help and I ask if they could stay in the location till I got there. When I get a call out within a few hours of the loss and someone can put me in the general area. My metal detector is the perfect tool to find a ring or other precious metal keepsake.  

It didn’t take long to find this beautiful ring. Tracy was happy to get her ring back, but she felt a little embarrassed about the way she list the ring. I took the time to tell her that this happens very often. Many people don’t discover that they had lost a ring till they are miles away and don’t remember what they did that caused the loss.

Not all searches are this easy. My last three searches were not successful and each search was over 3 hours. The main reason I could not find the lost object was.. 1) too much time had passed.. 2) It was lost in a public area, probably picked up by a passer-by.. 3) the person didn’t know the general area of the loss, we sometimes can only eliminate an area that the person believes the loss occurred.

Thought of the day.. Don’t put rings on your lap when applying lotions, its a bad habit and has led to the loss of many rings.

The difficult searches are always a high feeling when the item is found. I love the challenge.

Ring lost while swimming in Sebago Lake Maine, recovered

I received a call from a lady named Cherish, who had lost her wedding ring while swimming in Sebago Lake in Standish, Maine. I made the two hour drive to the location which also included about a half mile hike to the beach where the ring was lost. After only about 5 minutes I was able to locate it in about 4 ft of water but about 2-3 inches below the sand. Drove home happy to have reunited the owner with this family heirloom.

These girls found out who to call when dad’s ring fell into the surf. @ Emerald Isle, North Carolina

Meredith & Gabby’s father was standing in knee deep water playing catch. His newly purchased ring went flying off as he was catching the ball. The girls started to search for Metal Detector Rentals and my contact information was displayed. Dad said « Call him up! » A short time later, I showed up and within 10 minutes had found Dad’s ring.

Jessica and her family were enjoying their vacation at Laguna Beach when she lost her wedding ring. She contacted me after finding my phone number on TheRingfinders.com directory.

I was driving home when Jessica called. She told me that she had put her wedding ring set in a handbag while on the beach. The engagement ring was still in the handbag when she returned to her hotel room. The wedding band could have been lost in the sand or anywhere along the walkway to the beach. She would be able to meet me to get me close to the location.

There were a few unknowns but we have to start the process of elimination. After meeting Jessica we walked to the beach where she had an area marked off with beach chairs and towels. Even though she didn’t remember taking things from her bag, it’s always best to start where they spent most of their time. 

It was a short search, as I got a nice gold signal a short time after starting to swing my metal detector. Jessica’s eyes lit up and I saw that awesome smile that happens when I’m able to return a ring. 

It’s nice when people can tell you they felt the ring come off their finger, but that doesn’t happen often. Also, it does help when they can realize the ring is missing before too much time passes. Next, it is necessary to contact a member of TheRingFinders.com as soon as possible.
