Wedding and Anniversary set of rings recovered in Long Branch NJ

Got an early morning text from Jackie this morning asking for help with in finding her wedding and anniversary ring sets she lost at the beach yesterday in Long Branch. Wanting to enjoy the summer weather we’ve been having, she decided to take the family to enjoy the day at the beach. She took off her rings for safety and placed them in the side pocket of her beach bag. During the course of the day with going in and out of the bag the rings fell out and she didn’t realize it till she went to get them while back at the car. They were gone. She went back down to try and look but had no luck. She told the park ranger to report it in case someone finds them. Living up north she couldn’t come right away to show me where she was but sent a few pictures she took of her son playing and gave me a good idea as to where she was sitting. I loaded up my car and headed right down to the beach and started to search. I wasn’t having much luck and remember she told me there was a flat area by the water she was at. I noticed what was left of that area because it got washed out that night with high tide. I started to search there in the wet sand and within a few passes back and forth I found the first ring and then the rest of them. Luckily the rings didn’t get washed out. I texted her the good news and she couldn’t believe I found them. She was so grateful and relieved, the main wedding ring was handed down through the family and couldn’t be replaced. We made arrangements to meet up that afternoon to reunite her with her beloved rings. A happy ending for everyone.

Bay Area Ring Finders: Brendon Chapman… Metal Detecting Service/Call ASAP     925-580-2590

This week represents my first year anniversary of being a member of The Ring Finders Team.  I have been extremely proud of the efforts I have put in and the families that I have helped.  I have networked with some of the very best and most kind metal detectorists out there.  I have learned a ton about my machine(s) and myself.  It has been an absolute pleasure! So…when Shashi called seeking assistance in locating his wedding band, it was the perfect opportunity to cap off a very successful first year.

Shashi and his family had been knocking around a volleyball at Emerald Glen Park in Dublin, CA when he felt the ring slip off while striking the ball.  The most frustrating and helpless feeling has to be when you know exactly the when, where, and how you have lost an object, but just can not locate it despite monumental efforts.  This was the case for Shashi and his family who spend a goodly amount of time searching before they happened upon my information.  With the waning light and night looming, I requested he capture the GPS location with his phone and we agreed to meet the following day.

When we met, Shashi was able to put me literally on the exact spot his ring was lost and… we made the recovery!!!  Shashi was in disbelief that we had found it and I was overjoyed to cap off my first year with such a commanding triumph!

10k Wedding Band Lost In Church Yard! Ermineskin Neighborhood, Edmonton Alberta.

Blake called requesting my service to find his wedding band lost while he was cleaning and picking up garbage around his church yard.
I agreed to meet Blake at the church when I got there he showed me the location where he felt his ring could be, he was around a community garden plot picking garbage and cleaning up the yard then he tells me he put the garbage in bags and dumped them in the dumpster.
My gut feeling was that the ring was in the dumpster! I suggested to Blake to go into the dumpster and remove all the bags and spread them out so I would be able to scan each bag;  while inside the dumpster Blake found his ring lying at the bottom of the bin which made his day.
Thank you Blake for reaching out to me once again to locate his ring, I had done a successful search for Blake back in 2014 he had remembered me and the service I provide.

Alex called late in the evening to let me know he had lost his white gold wedding ring, along with his car key in the water while getting out of the water after surfing. It looked like the tide would be right for a search that night so I asked him to let me know where to search, and let him know I would go then.

Alex had given me enough information to cover the area of the loss, and because he was only ankle deep when the items were lost, I had plenty of open sand to search. There were no targets at all, just silence in the head phones. I kept looking for about an hour, and then a strong signal. I dug, and there was the key, so I knew the ring should be close. I continued on, and then another strong signal, dug, and had the ring. I sent Alex a text showing the two items to let him know they were found. He agreed to meet me at the beach right away, and I delivered his wedding ring and key. He was very thankful.

Big Diamond Ring … Recovered from Sand at Southern California Beach by member of TheRingFinders

.. Britney believed that her very sentimental and very expensive 7 ct. diamond ring was lost at a Southern California beach. The loss happened three days before contacting me. She didn’t feel the ring fall off her finger, only realizing the missing ring while driving home.  Her insurance company recommended that she contact a member of TheRingFinders. When I replied to her text, she told me that she just a few minutes to talk before leaving to pick up her daughter from school.

It was late in the afternoon and I thought I might have to set up this search for the next morning. I did have time to find out Britney would not be able to meet me at the location. In my opinion, I believed I should make the hour drive attempting a preliminary search with the sketchy directions she gave me.  Part of the area is a play area that gets a lot of attention from hobby detectorists. The other possible location was a large section of main beach which is sometimes known as “no man’s land”, the area of sand between parking lot and the towel line.

I made the drive and was able to talk with Britney one more time after I arrived. She couldn’t add much to the directions given to me on our first phone call. I made sure to thoroughly grid search the play area first. Then proceeded to grid search half a football field zone that she had set up their beach blanket.

There was 30-35mph winds blowing sand that evening as the sun beat an to set. It was looking like I might have to return the next morning. This area might be larger that Britney described, she said it was about 100 -150ft out. ( some people are good about judging distance?) I started in the middle going north. Then I came back to go south. The second 150 ft pass I got a great signal just where I was doing the turn around. Boom !! Big 7 ct. diamond in a white gold setting. Successfull recovery just before thinking this was going to be a two day search.. This was an awesome search because I had very few details to work with and three days had passed. Sometimes you just have to try.

Britney and her husband met me near where I live to pick up their very sentimental ring. Ending several days of frustration and sleepless nights upset with herself and believing the ring was lost forever.

Lost Diamond in grass, Orlando, Florida…..Found with metal detector!

In Tina’s own words, she says, »Saturday, March 11th I brought the dog out to do his business. He was taking his sweet time and as I was waiting for him I started fidgeting with my diamond ring, as I often do! With the first twirl around my finger I felt the diamond pop off of my ring. I was sure it just dropped straight down into the grass. I hurried the dog back inside and then returned to where I was standing so I could get a better look at the ground. It was no where to be found! I then woke up my husband and my son and they both rushed outside to help me look for my lost diamond. We even had a couple of our neighbors join in the hunt as well. After approximately 5 hours we decided to borrow a friend’s metal detector and we dug up a good section of our yard, but we had NO LUCK! We then waited until it got dark and went back out with a couple of strong flash lights to see if we could catch a glimmer of the diamond sparkling in the light but even that failed! It made it more difficult since it was just the diamond, with the prongs still attached and not the whole ring. So after exhausting all the suggestions we could think of I tried the internet and Googled « How to find a diamond in the grass »! Then I came across theringfinders.com! There were a couple of Ring finder members in the Orlando area so I went with the one who had the most successful recoveries! I called Mike McInroe shortly after 12 noon and he was able to come by our house around 4:30pm that same day! He thoroughly searched the immediate area and after two hours my husband and I were starting to give up hope. And then all of a sudden Mike came over to me with my diamond in his hand!!! We were so so very thankful! It was truly a blessing that I found him on line and that he was able to find my precious diamond. We couldn’t thank him enough! »

Easter Egg Hunt at a Park goes wrong when two heirloom ring were lost in grass, San Dimas, CA.

*** Tony and his family went to a San Dimas, CA. park for a picnic and Easter egg hunt. After 4 or 5 hours they got ready to leave and he realized his two gold heirloom rings were missing. They had to be somewhere in the grass. The main problems were the grass was very thick and he had been playing with his kids in a large area of the park.

He took his family home and went to the Harbor Freight store buying two metal detectors. Tony then returned to the park searching till 9pm. After an unsuccessful attempt to find either of the rings, found me on TheRingFinders website.

We met early the next morning at the park. I decided that we should start we’re he felt they spent the most time. After a short time the two rings were recovered. Tony was so ecstatic and relieved to have these two rings back. He was very discouraged that a metal detector could find a ring in the grass because the detectors had purchased were giving faulty signals constantly.

After finding his rings I was able to give him ideas on how the metal detector works. He is going to look into getting a better detector so he can start getting into the hobby.

Lost Key Fob in the Snow in Millcreek, Utah- Found

I don’t see having to do another recovery in the snow this year as it is quickly heating up! One of my last recoveries in the snow was for a lost key fob that was lost while shoveling the driveway. After contacting the dealership, he was told that it would take 4-8 weeks to get a replacement. Replacing a key fob is expensive as you will need to program the key to the car and pay for a locksmith to come out. It can easily cost several hundred dollars depending on the type of car. In desperation, he reached out to me to see if I could help. I met up with him that night and started to go through the 4+ feet of snow that was piled up in the yard. I couldn’t get my detector to quiet down after trying all the tricks to get it stable. Ultimately, I had to turn down my sensitivity to a level I knew would not reach through all the snow.

After making a couple passes, I decided to shovel back the snow on to the drive way so I could get through all the snow. Returning to the pile, I quickly got a iffy signal and after checking it could see the edge of the key fob! Dylan was so excited to see it! Not having access to his vehicle for 4-8 weeks was just not something he wanted to do so I am very happy that I was able to locate and return the key fob! It was a workout moving that much snow but it was all worth it in the end!

I got a text from Scarlett telling me that she had been out the night before at the beach, and lost her phone in the sand. After getting back to her car she realized the phone was missing, and she and her friend went immediately back to look in the darkness, but it was gone. Knowing that beach is cleaned daily by county machines, I had to ask if she had a find my phone app, which she did, and it was showing that it was still there. So we made arrangements to get there as soon as possible to ensure we were able to find it before someone else did.

We met up as soon as I got to the beach. Scarlett had sent me a screen shot of the phone on the beach, a two dimensional picture her app was showing, so I needed her to pinpoint where they had been that night. She gave boundaries to ensure I covered all the possibilities. I searched for a little over an hour covering the whole area, finding a lot of trash metal, but no phone. It was then I asked her to show me on her tablet the screen again, the phone was still showing. Then I asked if she could get a satellite image with the same information. It took a few minutes, and then she was able to get the satellite image. It was then we could see that it was at the lifeguard tower. She then went over and asked the lifeguard, and yes, he had it. Someone had found it and turned it in. Sometimes searches take unique twists, and this was one of them. She was very happy to have her phone back.
