Lew lost his wedding ring at the beach, and called for help. I was available, and let him know I would get there as quick as was possible. The ring had his wedding date engraved inside, so it meant a lot to him.

I got there and met Lew, and he took me over to the spot of the loss. He explained how the loss occurred, and I began my search. *** Jose called me asking about my metal detecting service. He had been at Crystal Cove State Beach which is in the city of Newport Beach, CA. His church group had organized a beach day with swimming and games on the sand. Jose took off his silver ring, placing it securely in the bottom of his backpack.

On the bus ride home to San Bernardino,CA. He could not find his ring. He believed it must be on the beach where he had been all day. It was impossible to return to search for the ring. They were almost home, 50 miles from the beach.

After returning home he was able to get on his computer, getting ideas on how to find a ring lost in the sand. While searching the web, he got my contact information. He gave me detailed verbal information of where he was on the beach, near 4 trash cans.

I traveled 5 miles to Crystal Cove State beach, found the location, Jose described .. ( 4 trash cans ) .. Within 30 minutes of grid searching with my Minelab Manticore metal detector, I had Jose’s precious silver ring in my sand scoop. Jose was able to meet me a few days later to pick up his ring.

***  Lost Engagement Ring in surf sand at Crystal Cove California State Beach. Katrina was in front of the Beachcomber with her daughter. She lost her engagement ring while showing her daughter how to find sand crabs in the surf sand.

The ring came off digging in the saturated wet sand and she realized it right away. It disappeared instantly.

Frustrated and upset Katrina was sure it was lost forever. She was able to calm down enough to google “ How to find a ring at the beach” .. My contact information came up under The Ring Finders directory.  She didn’t call me until she was on her way home.

We talked about the circumstances of the loss and I was able to get enough information to do a search the next morning at a low tide. *** Lost Ring calls at the beach seem to come after people have spent hours looking for the ring. Sometimes the delay of contacting an experienced ringfinder is because they returned home where they could go online to get information about buying or renting a metal detector. Many calls come after dark.

Steve and his wife, Li had been walking the boardwalk at Laguna Beach, CA. Li dropped her gold ring near the edge of the wooden boardwalk. She wasn’t sure if it had fallen in the sand or that the ring fell into the cracks between the boards. The way the boardwalk is constructed, there is no access under the walkway. Hopefully the ring didn’t drop, through the cracks.

Most people don’t understand how a metal detector works. Before beginning the grid search, I told them that I could only search the accessible sand. I know  my metal detector could find the ring if it is there. I try to explain this to people prior to doing a search,  so they don’t get disappointed if the ring is not found. *** Sentimental Gold Heart pendant lost in sand at Balboa Pier beach. Michelle was leaving the beach with her family when she discovered that her gold necklace was broken and her very sentimental gold heart pendant was probably buried in the sand.

She spent some time with her husband digging in the sand. Then a passerby recommended that she call me for help using my metal detector.

I met them on the beach and she showed me an area of approximately 50’ x 50’ where they had been most of the day. Twenty minutes later I was able to find her precious gold pendant that she had worn daily for more than 10 years. Both Michelle and her husband that the pendant was saved and they would be able to get on the road before the traffic got too congested.

*** John came to Balboa Pier in Newport Beach, CA. He came early to enjoy as much of the cool day as possible. It has been very hot inland with temperatures over 100 degrees for weeks. He brought a small tent for his small son and to keep their belongs inside.

The lifeguards came on duty later that morning. They ask John if he could move their tent over 30 feet, which was not difficult. The only problem was, he realized his ring was missing from a pocket in the tent.

He called me to help him. I live very close, so I was there shortly after he contacted me. He explained exactly what had happen, showing me where the tent had been .. A few minutes later we had John’s white gold wedding band back where it belongs.

It was my pleasure to help him. I love what I do !!

***Katlyn was with her daughter in waist deep water at Newport Beach when she lost her diamond engagement ring. She was devastated as she had forgotten to leave her ring at home as she normally does before going to the beach.

Her husband, Jeff called me at 8am the next morning. He told me it was a 3.2 ct. diamond ring and wasn’t insured. When I talked to him he told me the loss happened the day before at high tide. I checked the present high tide and it was a perfect low tide for a search. I was able to leave right away for the beach 15 minutes drive from my place.

When I arrived I saw two other metal detector guys searching the same location. After talking with one of the detectorists, he told me that the word was out that an expensive diamond ring was lost in the area yesterday.  The lifeguard and a resident of one the beachfront homes had told them about the loss. They did not have any contact information for the person that lost the ring. I made sure they could contact the person that lost the ring.

I did not find the ring that day and wasn’t sure that one of the other guys found the ring. I always advise people that call me to be careful who they tell about losing a valuable item. If they don’t find the ring right away they will need to get the word out with contact information ..Many people will return items if they know how to contact the owner.

Well, four days after the initial loss,I was on another search on the same beach. I dug a great sounding signal and it was Katlyn’s 3.2ct. diamond ring. It was maybe a half a block from where Jeff had told me Katlyn had realized her ring was missing. All is well, I found the ring. I had the contact information and was able to return this awesome ring to a happy grateful couple..
