Hey there my name is Jon. I have been detecting on and off for about 15 years (the last 6 years continuously). I recently came across The Ring Finders while searching for the owner of a ring I had found in a park near me. I have always found joy in helping others and hope to continue that through The Ring Finders.

Paul lost his wedding ring while helping a neighbor dig out of a snowstorm a couple years ago. As his anniversary was coming up, he browsed the internet for help finding his lost ring. He found theringfinders.com and gave me a call. It was a really quick recovery as the ring was on the side of his driveway just under the surface of the ground. He figured after helping his neighbor, he was walking up his drive and removed his gloves, causing the ring to come off. Congrats on the recovery Paul, it was nice talking with you and your family. Take Care.

Lost rings in Sugarhouse: Found

Jodi and Dan were watching their daughter play soccer at a local park. Jodi removed her wedding rings to apply sunscreen to her daughter, but was then distracted by their newborn baby, and she forgot about the rings. After the game was over, they gathered their belongings and were heading back to the car when they realized they didn’t have the rings. After hours of searching through the long grass, Dan was able to find the wedding band, but they couldn’t find the white gold engagement ring with its large solitaire diamond. They found TheRingFinders.com and asked me for help. It took almost 2 1/2 hours of searching with my metal detectors, but we finally found the ring! I was happy to help them find the cherished ring that she had worn for 18 years.

On the official first day of summer Viola lost her platinum wedding band in the ocean while tossing a football on the beach in Cape May, NJ. After realizing that her ring had fallen off in the water, she saw a fellow metal detectorist combing the beach who referred her to me.  We set a time to meet and search for the ring.  The search began in waist deep water in the ocean and after a quick but though search, the ring was found 20 minutes later! The ring was recovered and returned to its owner!

Neil decided to put his wedding band in the pocket of his beach chair for safekeeping while he spent time on the beach with his wife and friends in Ocean City, NJ. After he got back to his house, he went to look for the ring but discovered a hole in the pocket instead. He gave me a call and exained the situation. The ring could have dropped in the sand by the chair or anywhere along the path they walked home. I met him where the group sat and started the search there. There were several targets, mostly Matchbox cars, that I had to weed out, and then I heard the tone from the metal detector I was expecting, the sound of the ring. Now their weekend getaway in Ocean City, NJ was able to end on a high note!

Lost wedding ring at the beach, Seaside Park NJ, recovered by Edward Trapper, NJ Ring Finder

  • from Lavallette (New Jersey, United States)

I received a call from Jay about locating his wedding ring that had flown off his hand while brushing some sand off his son earlier in the day. He was positive of the location, which was just behind where their chairs and stuff were set up on the beach. I told him I would head right out, and would be there ASAP, but the traffic was pretty bad, and to just be patient. About 30 min. later he met me in the parking lot, we talked a bit about the events leading up to the ring flying of his hand as we walked down the path to the area where they were it happened. He showed me the circle where he believed the ring should be, which was about 20′ in diameter, but he had no luck locating it prior to me arriving. I did a complete search of the area Jay had pointed out, but the ring was not there, so I asked him to duplicate the exact motions when the ring slipped off his finger. He was facing the water, and with his demonstration I immediately knew which direction to expand my search. On a narrow path about 5′ from the original search area, the ring was in my scoop. Jay was very surprised how far the ring had traveled, but very grateful to have it back. Many times when recovering items you have to look beyond the obvious.
