Lost Ring Found Ft Morgan

  • from Orange Beach (Alabama, United States)

Phillip called me about midday asking if I would help him locate his wife’s engagement ring. It was lost in the water close to the shore line, ankle to calf deep and they had been searching for it by hand, snorkeling and they purchased a metal detector to no avail. It had been a couple days since lost and it was high tide at the time. He said because of emotional and sentimental reasons, the ring just had to be found. I said I would help and showed up late that same afternoon. This was my first visit and ring recovery at Fort Morgan so I wasn’t familiar with conditions and packed my equipment for all conditions. I searched an areas about 100 foot square with no Luck. There was only one target and when I dug it Phillip thought I had found it only to be disappointed when I pulled up a piece of wire. After performing a second search with no success I decided to first expand the search another 50 ft to the west. Now, remember the ring was lost at high tide and the beach had a gradual slope, for ever 1 foot drop of tide the horizontal distance was probably 15 or more feet. It’s was now low tide so I concentrated on the wet sand with no standing water. Within 10 minutes I got a good but weak signal, dug it and there it was. I felt it was lucky I came right out after called because the sand shifts about quickly around here and I’m afraid in another day or two it may have been buried to deep to detect. Phillip and the family were all smiles and grateful and now they can finish their vacation with no regrets. I am alway glad to help.

Lost Claddagh Ring Found Avalon NJ by John Favano Ring Finders South Jersey

Lost ring avalon nj

Kaleigh realized she didn’t have her jewelry just as she was about to walk off the beach for the day. She spent the day with some friends relaxing on the beach in Avalon, NJ. Earlier, she put her jewelry in her chair but forgot they were in there before packing up her belongings. She immediately walked back to where she was sitting and saw the jewelry. It was all there except her Claddagh ring. The lost ring was sentimental because it was something she brought back from a trip to Ireland. We met up the next morning and had a general idea of the location. I started the search with the metal detector and the Claddagh ring was found! It was a great start to the day in Avalon, New Jersey!

Wedding Ring Lost in Springville, IA…Found

  • from Bettendorf (Iowa, United States)

Cuyler and Eden live out of state, but they are in Iowa visiting family for the holiday weekend.  It’s been pretty hot in Iowa lately, and a friendly water balloon fight began among family members to help ease the summer heat.  However, sometime during the family fun, Eden lost her diamond wedding ring.  Her hands had gotten wet so she shook the water off of them, and then she soon realized that her ring was missing.  Today, July 4th, I received a call on her husband, Cuyler.  Cuyler told me the story and asked if I would be able to look for his wife’s ring on the holiday.  I told Cuyler that I would drive up to Springville and find Eden’s ring.

I arrived at the rural family homestead and met with Cuyler and Eden.  I was shown the approximate area where the ring was believed to have been lost.  Cuyler had marked out the area for me with landscape flags.  The family had performed a visual search, but with the recent rainfall the grass had begun to grow again, and I was certain the ring would be found in the taller grass.

I got my equipment together and began my standard grid pattern search.  After about 30-45 minutes of searching, I got a nice solid tone on my Equinox 800.  I pinpointed the location and used my Garrett carrot to zero me in on the object in the grass.  I spread the grass blades apart and saw a nice shiny diamond ring facing skyward with the stone sparkling like fireworks.  I retrieved the ring and reunited it with Eden and her expression of gratitude will not be soon forgotten.

White Gold Wedding/Engagement Band Set-Found!

  • from Chattanooga (Tennessee, United States)

Ryan contacted me several weeks ago about his wife’s white gold wedding/engagement band set she had lost in a grassy area of the apartments where they lived in Chattanooga.  Because of his busy work schedule he had a difficult time getting the search arranged.  I think he had actually purchased an off-the-shelf metal detector at a local store, but was apparently overwhelmed with the large amounts of metallic trash in the ground.  We finally managed to arrange a search on June 9th.  I arrived at the location at 7:15 PM on June 9th.  I started my search as soon as I got the story from him, because we didn’t have much daylight left.  Around 35 minutes later I found the engagement band portion totally hidden below the grass around four feet from the base of a large tree.  It took me right at an hour more to find the wedding band portion, and it was about twenty feet from where I found the other half.  It ended up being in an area outside of the original search zone.  The grass had been cut, so maybe that’s how it ended up being over there.  This portion of the ring was in full view of anyone walikg by, so it’s amazing nobody had seen it.

June, who follows the Ring Finders South Jersey Facebook page, called me when John lost his wedding band. I was a few minutes south of Ocean City, New Jersey, when she called, so I was able to meet them quickly after the call. John told me that he took off the band and placed it on his lap. He realized that he had taken it off almost immediately after he stood up, but it had already dropped in the sand. After a few swings of the metal detector in the area, the ring was recovered. John and his family were able to enjoy the rest of the day on the beach!

The Ring’s Out Of The Bag At Surf City Beach & Found The Same Day

  • from Emerald Isle (North Carolina, United States)

Surf City, North Carolina

Austin & Abbey were spending a wonderful May day at the Surf City beach.  Abbey’s ring was placed in a bag they had brought along and it believed her ring escaped while retrieving a cell phone from the same bag.  Panic set in and they frantically searched the sand unsuccessfully.

Austin’s father is a beach metal detectorist and was aware of The Ring Finders.  He called me shortly afterwards and I explained I was in Ohio for a college graduation.  I also told him I have a few select friends I trust to help when I become unavailable.  Justin was called and I immediately sent him the contact information as well as the information I knew about the lost ring.  It didn’t take long after Justin’s arrival that Abbey had her ring back in her hand.

Late Father’s Wedding Ring Lost & Found In Jacksonville Flower Bed

  • from Emerald Isle (North Carolina, United States)

Marilee texted me that she is devastated because she just lost her father’s 1937 wedding ring while working in her flower garden.  She had read that Crystal Coast Ring Finders had helped a woman find a ring, also lost in Jacksonville, North Carolina.

After finding numerous pieces of aluminum and landscape fabric staples, a detector coil sweep around a small bush produced a decent signal and peering around the bush, the gold wedding band was discovered laying between the bush and the home.

Lost a ring? Don’t wait to call!

I received a call from Dawn whose friend saw my Ring Finders South Jersey page on Facebook and referred her to me.  Her daughter Julia lost her Cartier gold Love ring in the surf during a severe storm in Ocean City, NJ.  She was in ankle-deep water when strong gusts of wind suddenly blew the ring off her finger.  After speaking with Julia about the details of how and where she lost the ring, I started the search in knee-deep water and worked my way toward the beach.  I had to expand my search out about another 35 yards and the ring was found on the high on the slope! Never give up the search the rings can be found!
