When I get there Bob comes outside and said he was blowing leaves in the front yard.  So I looked in the front flower beds and nothing. Now the front yard still nothing…. Off to the back yard and searched were he said he was but searched outside outside the area he said still nothing…. I move towards the burn pile in the picture…. I heard a told that I didn’t hear before, turned on the trusty pinpointer and guess what was just below the dirt line…. I picked up,his ring didn’t say anything and when he turned around he couldn’t believe it was in the burn pile….  Bob was really happy to have his ring back on his finger…

Lost Gold Engagement Ring Found and Returned, in Old Orchard Beach, Maine with a Metal Detector

  • from Old Orchard Beach (Maine, United States)

Hello, my name is Dennis Boothby and this is my 1st blog a a member of The Ring Finders. I have been an avid Metal Detectorist since 2001, almost 22 years. I retired in July 2021 and now have more time to devote to the hobby that I love, Metal Detecting. I find extreme pleasure, joy and personal satisfaction from returning lost rings, jewelry, phones, key fobs or any other metallic objects, to their rightful owners.   I am now a member of the The Ring Finders, a World Wide metal detecting organization whose sole purpose is to return lost items to the owner. How wonderful is that?.  Over the years I have found many rings, phones, jewelry keys, key fobs, etc and have been so fortunate to have returned many of those items to the rightful owners. Most days I can be found metal detecting on the beaches, parks, woods and fields,  in Old Orchard Beach, Saco, Pine Point and Kennebunkport , Maine.  I would consider it an honor to look for lost jewelry or other items that you may have lost. I will hunt beaches, parks, farms, RV parks, yards and other places, as long as permission is granted and it is safe to detect. I can also metal detect in Saltwater and Fresh water, waist to chest deep, as long as I can safely detect the body of water.  If you lost your item where the use of metal detectors is restricted, you would have to gain permission for someone to look for your item with a metal detector and transfer that permission to me.  While I usually metal detect in the Southern Maine counties of York and Cumberland,  I occasionally will travel further.  You may call me to discuss your location.   I charge a $25.00 call out, trip fee to cover travel expenses (fuel, parking, tolls, etc.). Requesting I travel outside my local area would likely increase the trip fee, usually .50 cents per mile over 30 miles from my home,  but that will be discussed at our initial contact.  I work on a ”Reward Basis Only”… that means you pay what it’s worth to you and what you can afford to have me find your lost item.  I am a member of The Ring Finders and you may find out more about this organization on their website.  You can also search  on YouTube for “The Ring Finders” to see many videos of successful recoveries of lost items.  If you have lost a treasured keepsake or other types of valuable items, please call or text me today, to see if I might be able to help recover it. Why rent a metal detector when a professional from The Ring Finders can help you ?

Thank you and I am looking forward to helping reunite you with  lost item.

Lost Wedding Ring Found in Lancaster PA

  • from Lancaster (Pennsylvania, United States)

Over the weekend, I was contacted to help a gentleman find his lost wedding ring. When I arrived at the home I was told the story how how the ring came to be missing.

« I was raking and bagging leaves, it wasn’t until hours later I realized it was GONE »

the gentleman explained. I asked him to recreate the event having him kneel down where he was bagging the leaves even having him take me to the bagged leaves themselves to really narrow down the search area.

He pointed out a 20×20 foot area that he thought it was as he stated that he thought he saw something fall into the pile when he was bagging but did not think twice about it. I began a formal grid search of the area after about an hour of searching I expanded it to about 40x40foot. Another hour went by, no ring to be found.

Starting to get frustrated, I decided that I was going to find that ring so I started to search out the entire front yard. As I made my way down the yard I reached the end of the drive. DING DING DING a solid signal! I bent down and in the grass a beautiful 14k white gold ring. This was at least 50′ from where the suspected search area was.

I played it cool and continued to « search » for the ring until I got to the house. I had the homeowner come out asking him if there was any area around the garden that it could have been lost. As he was looking away I pulled it out.

There it was, that amazing startled/disbelief/happy/excited look that we love to see.

I was so happy to be able to be a part of this rings story and return to its owner.

Be sure to check out the video of this find coming soon to my YouTube channel.

Barnegat NJ Lost Wedding Ring in the Yard recovered by Edward Trapper NJ Ring Finder 2022

  • from Seaside Park (New Jersey, United States)
Samantha messaged me last night about her ring that flew off her daughter, Johanna’s finger while she was playing in the front yard. It was her grandmothers ring and had great sentimental value to her. I had already went to bed, but my auto message prompted her to call. After getting the details it was pretty apparent the ring had slid off her daughters finger when she threw her hands in the air. We didn’t know how far it flew, but knew positively, it was in the grass, someplace in the front yard. I met her right after she got off work to start the search. When I pulled up I didn’t like what I saw. It was an underground electric transformer box right on the corner of the property. If you know metal detectors the EMI interference from them can sometimes make the search impossible. I didn’t let her know this, and adjusted my machine to the conditions. Not 10 minutes later the machine gave the sweet sound of a platinum ring under the coil. I felt around with my pin pointer, as the grass was deep, and it was pushed into the dirt a bit from the family searching the day before. When I spotted the ring, I held the pointer on it to let it keep screaming, and looked over to her with a big smile on my face. She ran over in total amazement, with a priceless look on her face. The next 15 minutes are what makes this hobby so special, it was very sentimental moment.#njringfinder, #lostring,#lostcross,#lostringlavallettenj,#lostringortleybeachnj,#lostringLBI,#lostringholgatenj,#lostringsurfcitynj,#lostringlongbranchnj,#lostringbradleybeachnj,

Brant Beach(LBI) NJ Lost Cartier Bangle Bracelet recovered by Edward Trapper NJ Ring Finder August 2022

  • from Seaside Park (New Jersey, United States)
Got a call from Camille Saturday evening. She had lost her bangle bracelet, but wasn’t sure where. She did have a picture from the night before, which was taken on Brant Beach (LBI) NJ. We figured that was a good place to start. They marked the location in google maps and sent it to me. I arrived at the beach ASAP and after about 1 1/2 hrs. I had no luck finding it. She came down to look where I had been, and we made a few adjustments to the search location. Within 15 min. I had one half of this beautiful Cartier love bracelet in my scoop, and about 10 min later both half’s were safely in my pouch. I walked up to the house to meet her, and told her she wasn’t in the spot she believed she was. With that said, Camille looked down and said, « I guess you had no luck ». I replied, « you were 10′ over » and handed her the bracelet. What a weekend, her birthday was Saturday, her lost bracelet was found, and today her grandson is expected to arrive!!!!!!!!!.

Forked River NJ Necklace lost at the Lake recovered by Edward Trapper NJ Ring Finder august 2022

  • from Seaside Park (New Jersey, United States)

Got a call today from Aubreigh. She was at the lake on Wednesday and somehow she lost her extremely sentimental necklace that was given to her by her late mother. The area where their blanket was is where she felt it was definitely lost. Sure enough, within 30 seconds if got a scratchy tone, moved the sand with my foot, and there it was. The look on her face was priceless. She was by far the youngest person I have had call, and my gosh, so professional, and determined.

Wedding Band Lost In North Topsail Beach Surf Found And Returned

  • from Emerald Isle (North Carolina, United States)

Call or Text (614-354-6704) Crystal Coast Ring Finders as soon as possible if you lost an item requiring a metal detector to recover.

I received a late evening text from Danny.  He mentioned he lost his ring in the shallow surf and asked if I could help.  I checked the tide chart and told him, to his surprise,  I’d be there at 5 a.m.  I brought along a friend to help out and we headed towards the area Danny thought he had lost the ring.  After more than 2 hours of searching both beach and water, his ring was not found.  That same afternoon, my friend informed Danny that he was coming back to search the area once more.  Upon arrival, a family member mentioned a different area that they had set up the day before and the new area was searched.  It was a very short hunt as Danny’s ring was quickly located in the very shallow surf.  It was about the same time Danny and his wife were just coming back onto the beach and were very happy and relieved his ring was found and returned.

  • from Seaside Park (New Jersey, United States)

Got a call from Mike, his son lost his cross in Lavallette NJ (OB3) while doing lifeguard exercises yesterday morning when the chain it was on broke. I told him to mark the location on his cell phone and I would get back to him later. This cross had great sentimental value as it was given to him by his grandmother a few years back. It will now be back on his chain thanks to their quick phone call, and precise mark of the location. Special thank you for keeping our swimmers safe.

Lost wedding band, Lavallette NJ. July 2022

  • from Seaside Park (New Jersey, United States)

Got a call from Ashley yesterday (Saturday) about her husbands lost ring. She explained how Jeff was throwing a football around the tide line when the ring flew off his hand and dropped into the wet sand. After talking a bit, we decided low tide was so late we would wait till the AM low tide to do the recovery, the surf was fairly calm, so it wouldn’t move to much. Jeff did an outstanding job marking the exact location of the ring, which is paramount when doing recoveries. A few swings later the ring was in the scoop.
