I received an email about a lost gold ring in a lake. The ring is the family heirloom that has been passed down for generations. After getting the details, we setup a day and time to perform the ring search. The ring was lost in about 2 to 4 feet of cloudy lake water, which was unable to see anything. So with the trusty water metal detector, sand scoop and continuing searching, the ring was found! She was overly in joy that the ring was found. Now she can keep the tradition of passing the ring on to the next generation. I was able to bless her in prayer.

I do believe and I believe in miracles! So blessed to have had to opportunity to witness one!

On July 5th I had visited the beach and lost my gold ring in the water while catching a football. In a split second I knew the ring had slipped off my finger and I was so devastated. I spent nearly 2 hours waist deep in murky water trying to feel my foot on the seabed for a ring but no luck. People were kicking up sand and boats nearby were causing waves to pull in and out to shore.

Heartbroken I left with no hope of finding the ring. After a long prayer and a few Facebook posts later I turned to the internet and found Jon in the OH area with multitudinous ringfinders testimonies and I immediately emailed him. After an immediate response we decided to schedule the search Sunday and meet up.

The day before the search there were numerous people in the area and a storm causing the water to rise and I was so afraid the ring would’ve moved from the area that I was in. The day of the search it took Jon no longer than 45 minutes to locate my ring in the swelled waters with his underwater equipment and I was FILLED with joy and relief! It was embedded deep underneath the sand and I would have never found it on my own.

This was a ring engraved with the initials of my boyfriend and his father, which had been passed down and was a promise ring to me which I’ve had worn everyday for 2 years. It meant the world to me and I was so heartbroken to have lost it.

I am so immensely grateful for Jon and his hard work to search and find my ring. My prayer to God had been answered and He sent Jon and his wonderful father in law for that search. He prayed over me and I am forever grateful for their service!

Family Heirloom Ring Recovered – Huntington Beach, CA

Alejandro told me his Cousin was boogie boarding when he hit the sand and broke his nose. During this mishap his gold and ruby ring which was his late Grandfathers fell off into the surf. I said I would go first thing in the morning during low tide to search for this family heirloom. My intuition paid off and I found the ring after a two hour hunt right when the tide was at its lowest point.

The loss happened on July 5th and I recovered it on July 7th. This is a popular beach for detectorists and we were lucky it was not found during this busy July 4th weekend.

Platinum and Diamond Ring Lost in the Sand at Santa Monica Beach, CA…Found and Happily Returned.

Yael called explaining that she had lost the ring her mother had given her, in the sand at the beach. She had taken it off, and put it on the blanket they laid out, but forgetting that she had put the ring on the blanket, she picked the blanket up and shook it out. At that point it was too late, the ring was gone. I let her know I would be there as soon as possible, because they were still there, and possibility of a recovery was good.

When I got to the area Yael showed me what had happened, and the possible vicinity of the lost ring. I got my detector ready, and decided to start at the outer part of the perimeter. I turned my machine on, took two swings, got the tone, put the scoop in, and within 10 seconds was able to hand Yael her ring back. It doesn’t always happen like that, but I just happened to chose the right place to start. Needless to say Yael was overjoyed to have her precious ring back again. I was so happy to have been able to be able to give back something she thought was lost forever. Really a great day!

Lost men’s wedding ring found, Lake Wawasee, Syracuse, IN

Richard and family were visiting with friends at the lake house for the 4th of July weekend. With all the heat and humidity, the lake was the place to be. Much time was spent in the 85 degree water, around the dock, on the big foam floating pad, on the raft and tossing a ball back n forth to each other in the swim area. When it was time to get out of the water, Richard noticed his gold wedding ring was missing from his finger.
I was contacted by Richard’s friend, a friend of mine familiar with the ringfinders, we discussed the details of the loss and I was on my way within an hour. They had tried looking for it visually, but the water was somewhat stirred up from all the boaters.
The loss area was essentially « anywhere » around the dock, float, raft, within a 10 yard by 20 yard area and 4 to 5 feet deep. Sand bottom, with some silt, some rocks, waves and not much visibility.
There are almost always variables that can effect outcomes and immediately upon detecting I was hearing « good » sounding shallow targets, even with sensitivity turned way down on detector. The first target was a 12 gauge shotshell brass, then a piece of propeller, an old brass swim buckle and another piece of scrap aluminum. This was literally in the first two swings of the detector, which meant it could be a very lengthy endeavor with all these targets in the search area.
I rarely rule anywhere out, so i had began the search right near where he had entered the water. I figured I’d start detecting under/around the floating foam mat to eliminate that possibility. Got a good sounding signal under there, carefully scooped it and when I looked in the scoop, there was a men’s gold ring with 3 diamonds! I was relieved to have found it within just a few minutes, the 5th target scooped.

Two Rings Recovered at Hapuna Beach, Big Island, Hawaii

I went out on a ring find to Hapuna Beach after getting a late night call the previous evening from a distressed dad.
Jim had been playing catch in the water with his new son-in-law, while his daughter relaxed and read her book in the sand. After a short while the guys started egging her on to play with so reluctantly, Whitney joined them.
After Whitney caught a throw, Jim went after her in the surf to get the ball in a good-natured tackle. She stood up to find both her new engagement and wedding rings had gone flying.
That night when we got the call, Jim said Whitney was inconsolable. They’d stayed until the beach closed, trying to see a glimmer of the diamond cluster on the engagement ring, or waving gold of her new wedding band. Unfortunately, sand swallows most rings…
They met me in the morning at the spot in the surf. To my dismay, there were two detectorists already in the water nearby. I met Jim, Whitney and her new husband and started searching right away.
I was relieved to see that the two other detectorists were friends of mine, both of whom have collaborated with me in the past to return rings. Gregg was heading my way and he offered to help. After 30 minutes, I wasn’t having any luck and was happy to have the extra set of ears and eyes trying to find Whitney’s lost rings.
Within a few minutes Gregg called me over and showed me a glinting diamond ring in his basket. Jim and Whitney came running over and hugged me, Gregg and each other! Whitney’s husband was close behind and patted us on the shoulder and shook hands. Jim shed a few tears too – I think he’d been even more upset than his daughter!
Gregg went down the beach and I continued looking for the second ring. About 20 minutes later, and not far from the first, I got a strong signal and within moments had returned the diamond-studded wedding band.
It took two of us detectorists to find the two rings – and we were glad that Whitney was reunited with her treasures! Unfortunately I didn’t get the photo of us two detectorists but nonetheless, thanks for the help Gregg! Vacation saved!

100 Year old Family Heirloom Recovered in Asbury Park NJ by Dennis Burlingame

While on Asbury Park beach just getting ready to detect ( July 1 ) fellow Ring Finder Matty St Garmain called and told me about a ring lost there the weekend before. Ty was swimming when he got knocked over by a wave and lost his Great, Great, Great, Great grandfather’s ring. I was in the area where he lost it and started looking for it with no luck. Matty in return went down that night and didn’t have any luck either. I went back the next day but got chased away by a thunder storm. Wednesday the 3rd I got down there for low tide and after a half hour couldn’t believe I found it after all that time in the ocean. I called Ty and made arraignments for him to pick it up that Friday. I’m SO glad I was able to return such an important piece to him so he can hand it down to him son when it’s time. Happy ending and a GREAT feeling for all.

Recovered engagement ring in Ocean Grove NJ by Dennis Burlingame

              Got a call from Ken asking for help to find his girl’s engagement ring lost at the beach while enjoying the 4th of July At Ocean Grove. Told him I’d be there as soon as I could seeing it was late and was going to be dark soon. Getting to the beach it was packed with people waiting to see the fire works and I was hoping someone wasn’t sitting on it. Seems she took it off to put lotion on and gave it to Ken and he rolled it up in his shirt bottom and forgot it was there and later stood up and out fell the ring. They didn’t notice it was missing till they got home because both of them thought the other had it. He showed me one area he though the were sitting at and that didn’t have the ring. He was talking to his girl and telling her where we were and she thought they were sitting a little more to the one side about 25 feet or so, so that’s where we headed to and on the second swing of the detector I found the ring. Another happy ending and Ken is no longer in the  » Dog House  » ( had to throw that in )

Wedding band recovered in water at Avon NJ by Dennis Burlingame

While at a 4th of July BBQ I got a call from fellow Ring Finder JerseyMatt about a recovery in Avon he couldn’t get to and asked if I could help. He gave me their number and it seems that Kristy and Oliver were enjoying the 4th on the beach and Oliver was in the water throwing a ball and he wedding band went with the ball on a throw. Told them I’d be there as soon as I could knowing that it was the end of low tide and I didn’t have much time before the tide was to high to hunt. Got down there and they showed me where he was in the surf and I went out to hunt. I was only out there not even 10 minutes I think and found the ring. He was pretty right on showing me where to go. I headed back to shore and they thought I was giving up because the waves were giving me a little hard time, but were surprised I found the ring so fast. A happy ending to a nice 4th of July

Lost White Gold Engagement Ring With Diamonds Found In Wixom Michigan

I Dig Chicks With Sparklers!

 

The pictured couple was enjoying the 4th of July today playing with a RED ball under WHITE cloudy skies in a pool of BLUE water with their little FIRECRACKER daughter. She’s extremely active and full of energy and was described as having the energy of a hummingbird. As they were in the pool she threw the ball out of the pool onto the grass. Mom got out and upon returning the throw her engagement ring came off. When we talked they had been using a toy type metal detector so I said I can come by and wanted to make their 4th of July a better day. When I got there, chatting with mom where the ring may have fell off the lil’ daughter was zapping around the yard just like what they said. I started a grid search and it didn’t take too long when I got « the signal » we detectorists refer to as « the one »! Pinpointing with my Garrett carrot revealed this beautiful SPARKLER showing itself to me from the dark grass, mesmerizing me momentarily with it’s beauty making me feel like I wish time could stand still a bit longer! Mom came running over and reached down and pulled the ring from the grass totally ecstatic and frantically jumping up and down. Fiancee’ followed and their energy displayed was a different kind of FIREWORKS! I thanked them and they thanked me and I wished them the best in their new journey together pursuing their American dream and keeping the American Spirit Alive!
