Lost Yellow Gold Blue Diamond Pave Eye Ring at Hawaii Loa Ridge Park…FOUND!!!

  • from O‘ahu (Hawaii, United States)

This ring find began when I got a text Saturday morning from Hailee, visiting from California and attending a wedding on Oahu that said, « Aloha! I lost my ring and I’m looking for help.  I dropped it in a lawn, up Hawaii Loa Ridge, I know the exact location. »  Peter and Hailee agreed to meet at my house today so they could drive me up to the exclusive neighborhood for the ring hunt.  When we arrived Hailee pointed out the area and I began a grid search.  She told me they had about ten people looking the day it was lost, so there was the possibility it was stepped into the wet ground.  I noticed a sprinkler head in the grid and was pleasantly surprised the piping and wires were not.  First target was a dime just under the surface.  Then another target I couldn’t identify.  I was now expanding out the grid from where the ring was thought to be.  Hailee’s daughter had accidentally pulled it off her mom’s finger while they were taking photos and they thought it had gone in front of them.  I got a nice solid surface tone.  I stooped down and ran the pinpointer over the thick grass and got an immediate beep.  I moved the grass blades and there was Hailee’s beautiful ring looking up at me.  I told Peter « Found it! »  Being straight up and down it was nearly impossible to see and it was behind where Hailee had been.  Hailee was obviously overjoyed as this was her favorite ring.  Her and Peter were so grateful it was found!  Another vacation with a happy ending.  Aloha to Hailee & Peter!

1997 Denver Broncos Super Bowl XXXII Championship Ring Lost at Kahala Hotel Beach…FOUND!!!

  • from O‘ahu (Hawaii, United States)

This ring find began when I got a call from Annabel, from Colorado, who was enjoying a day at the Kahala Hotel Beach when her sister Christianna lost her 1997 Denver Broncos Super Bowl Ring in chest deep water about an hour prior.  I told Annabel that I lived 10 minutes away and would pack up my gear and head over.  Unbeknownst to me the King Tide was at it’s peak high and it was going to cause havoc.  Christianna stood in the water where she lost the ring to be my marker but it was now neck deep and throwing both of us around.  I did what I could but only one target emerged and it kept running away from me.  I searched all the way into shore with no luck.  Annabel, Christianna and I discussed a crack of dawn return the next morning, when my phone app showed an extreme low tide, where I could hunt much more thoroughly.  Annabel had a matching ring, so I had her swing it under my coil for a VDI of 47-49.  When I arrived the next morning the sun was just breaking the horizon and the beach was at the lowest tide I have ever seen there.  Pipes that are usually submerged in three feet of water were exposed.  I drew my grid lines from what Christianna showed me the day before and I entered the water.  Amazingly, it was crystal clear all the way out.  I got to the end of my grid line, placed my marker pole and turned around and headed to shore. Suddenly, in knee deep water I got a scream and a 47 on the VDI.  I looked down and could see the magnificent ring laying in the sand and sunlight.  I bent over picked up the ring and said,  « Thank you Jesus! » I then proceeded to my car to text Annabel, as her number was the only one I had.  After seeing the picture,  she texted, « WOW INCREDIBLE!!!! »  You are good!!!  She added that Christianna would be able to meet me today for the return.  Turns out she was with a relative in Kahala,  four minutes from my home.  After a warm hug and a wonderful smile,  Christianna can now return home with her sentimental ring.  She also told me that today marks 7 years since her dad, Pat Bowlen passed away.  I know he’s looking down with a warm smile too.  Aloha to Christianna and the Bowlen family!

Lost White Gold & Diamonds Engagement Ring at Paradise Cove Beach Ko Olina…FOUND!!!

  • from O‘ahu (Hawaii, United States)

This ring find began last night when I got a call from Ethan who was visiting from Texas and enjoying the waters of Paradise Cove Beach with his wife Laule’a.  Ethan said while his wife was splashing water on him in shallow knee deep water her White Gold & Diamonds Engagement ring flew off and disappeared in the soft sand.  The call came in around 8PM and it was already getting dark.  Ethan and I did a FaceTime so he could show me where they were on the beach.  I asked him to draw a line from where they were seated down to the water where the ring came off.  That way when I arrived at first light I would be able to start hunting.  When I arrived it was a very low tide so the ring would be even shallower.  After about 15 minutes the Manticore got a great tone and in one scoop there was Laule’a’s stunning ring in the scoop.  I texted a picture to Ethan but got no response.  I found out later they were exhausted and had slept in.  I knew Ethan was up when I saw, « WOAH » come over my phone.  Ethan called and we agreed to meet at 7-11 nearby Pearl Harbor for the return.  I hope to get a smiling pic from Laule’a soon.  Aloha to Ethan & Laule’a!

Lost Sentimental Gold Rope Chain at Aulani Beach Ko Olina Resort…FOUND!!!

  • from O‘ahu (Hawaii, United States)

This Gold Chain Find began Sunday, 17 May as I was recovering a lost Gold Wedding band at Aulani Resort.  After a successful ring recovery, a gentleman approached me and said his friend Jeremy from Poway, California had lost his Sentimental Gold Rope Chain the day before nearby the paddle board buoys.  He went to go get Jeremy so we could focus the search area down.  Jeremy explained he had been rough housing with children of the family in the water and he imagined the chain had to of fallen off in waist to chest deep water in the area near the buoys.  I did a search but the chain eluded me.  I told Jeremy I would return at a later time and bring scuba in case it was in deeper water.  After a bit of a communication mix up, I returned on Thursday 21 May and found a hefty gold chain on the shoreline in ankle deep water.  To verify the chain I asked Jeremy if he could identify the two unique words on the clasp but he said his was plain and didn’t have a name.  We assumed it wasn’t his and it didn’t quite match the grainy photo Jeremy had sent on Sunday.  Another search yielded no other chains.  The more I looked at the photo the more I was convinced this could be Jeremy’s chain.  I gave Jeremy a call back in Poway, California.  He still couldn’t identify the names, so I asked if he had a better picture of the chain.  He said he did and sent one to me.  There was no doubt.  Fortunately for us, Jeremy’s niece was still on island just down the street from my home.  We made the transfer and she returned it to Jeremy today.  Grandfather’s chain reunited and look at that smile of thankfulness.  Aloha to Jeremy!

Lost Gold Plumeria Ring at Ala Moana Beach Park…FOUND!!!

  • from O‘ahu (Hawaii, United States)

This ring find began when I got a call from Zoe who lives in Tampa, Florida and was on vacation visiting friends on Oahu.  Zoe just recently purchased the gold plumeria ring as a memento to her visit as it was her favorite flower of Hawaii.  She had taken it off and placed it on a beach blanket for safe keeping.  The wind picked up and was blowing sand and rain.  Zoe picked up the blanket to shake off the sand and at the same time realized the ring had been on it.  Zoe, her Hanai Aunt & a friend searched but couldn’t find the ring in the sand.  I told Zoe I could be there in about 15 minutes.  When I arrived Zoe had already marked the area.  I started up the Manticore and began the search.  After covering the suspected area with no find I expanded the grid in every direction.  Still no ring.  I could see a look of hopelessness on Zoe’s face and I was quite puzzled as to where the ring could be.  I decided to go perpendicular to the initial search and farther down towards the water.  BOOM!  Way out of the initial grid towards the water the Manticore screamed and as I looked down I could see the faint outline of a gold ring in the wet sand.  I yelled over to Zoe and the other girls and they all ran down to the spot to see.  Several hugs and laughs later Zoe’s vacation is saved.  That blanket sure tossed the ring!  Aloha to Zoe!

Lost Yellow Gold and Diamonds Hawaiian Style Ring in Ulua Lagoon Ko Olina Resort…FOUND!!!

  • from O‘ahu (Hawaii, United States)

This ring find began yesterday when I got a call from Amy, who lives on Oahu.  While enjoying the day at Ulua Lagoon, her husband Jan was playing with the kids and tossing them up and out into the water.  One of the kids grabbed hold of Jan’s necklace, which had the ring on it and the necklace broke.  The ring went flying but in what direction and how far?  They were able to find the necklace but not the ring.  Jan had assumed the ring would be in the waist to chest deep water he had been standing in.  Knowing they were down in front of the umbrellas I told Amy I would hunt the next day.  I started the hunt on the Southern umbrella and worked North.  I concentrated on the waist to chest deep water.  Then after about 30 minutes as I was heading shoreward in ankle deep water I got a nice screaming tone on the Manticore and after two scoops I was surprised to see Jan’s awesome ring in the scoop.  I went back to my car and sent a pic to Amy as Jan was working in Waikiki.  Her response was « Oh my!!! You found it!!! »  I called and Amy said she would tell Jan and he could swing by my house which is 5 minutes from Waikiki, and pick up his ring after work.  Jan was stoked to be going home with his ring!  Aloha to Amy & Jan!

Lost Yellow Gold Wedding Band at Ulua Lagoon Ko Olina Resort…FOUND!!!

  • from O‘ahu (Hawaii, United States)

This ring find began when I got a call from Kaedan who was on a babymoon with his wife Holly from Dallas, Texas and stated that Aloha Security informed him that I was the Resort’s detectorist and if I could make it out to Ulua Lagoon to recover his Yellow Gold Wedding band from shallow water.  He told me it fell off his finger as he was catching a football.  I told him I could head his way in about an hour and Kaedan said he would meet me on the beach.  When I arrived, Kaedan hadn’t arrived so I started a grid search where he showed me in a FaceTime chat we had.  As I was coming back in from the first leg, I saw Kaedan walking towards me.  We discussed the search area and we widened the grid just to be sure.  As soon as my detector touched the water I found a Tungsten Wedding Band with three diamonds.  Well that’s a good sign!  I continued on.  During the hunt I found a Gold Hooped earring and a lead elephant head pendant.  As I was nearing the extreme edge of the grid I could see a look of hopelessness on Kaedan’s face.  Then, « BOOM » in thigh deep water I got a great tone and in one scoop there was the Gold Band.  A look of pure relief came over Kaedan’s face as I handed him his ring.  Babymoon saved!  Congrats & Aloha to Kaedan & Holly!

Lost Yellow Gold and Diamond Wedding Band at Aulani Beach Ko Olina Resort…FOUND!!!

  • from O‘ahu (Hawaii, United States)

This Ring Find began when I got a text from Kyle who was on vacation from Vallejo, California and staying at the Aulani Resort.  While tossing a football he noticed his ring missing and assumed it had fallen off in neck deep high tide water.  Since it was high tide and getting late I told Kyle I would be there first light at the low tide to see if I could find his ring.  Kyle sent some excellent photos to help with the line up but no ring was found.  Then a gentlemen approached me for a Gold Chain recovery a bit farther down the beach,  but I didn’t find that either.  Probably scuba depth!  As I was heading back to my car,  thinking I had failed twice, Kyle came out to the beach.  He assured me that I had certainly covered the right area, but I decided to do a few more grid lines.  As I was returning to shore after that attempt I got a loud number 35 on the Manticore in calf deep water and there in my scoop was Kyle’s Wedding Ring.  It shocked the both of us.  I can only guess the ring was either hit by the football and got flung towards shore or that’s where it actually fell off and wasn’t noticed until much deeper water.  In any case Kyle was blessed with a return.  Aloha to Kyle!

Lost Eight Ring Stack at Waimanalo Beach Park…FOUND!!!

  • from O‘ahu (Hawaii, United States)

This ring find began when I got a call from Ola from Texas who told me her friend Ashley from Michigan lost an eight ring stack in the dry sand at Waimanalo Beach Park.  I checked Google Maps and told Ola I could be there n about 30 minutes.  When I arrived, Ola hailed me from the top of the beach sand berm which was in view from the parking lot.  Ashley explained that her 8 rings were in the pocket of her shorts and as they changed locations on the beach at some point they must have fallen out.  I had the two of them draw in the sand an area that would cover everywhere they had been.  Thankfully, the area was fairly small.  Ola suggested I start on the far end from where we were standing so fired up the Manticore and proceeded towards that area.  On the way, I got a solid tone and there was ring #1.  I heard another target and scooped ring #2.  Ashley was very happy but we had six more to go.  I continued on the grid and about ten feet away detector overload.  Rings #3 through #8 were all in a clump together.  I let Ashley & Ola retrieve them from the scoop.  Two very happy young ladies.  We had a few laughs and hugs and you can see their joy in the picture above.  Aloha to Ashley & Ola!

Lost Gold Wedding Band at Kailua Beach Park…FOUND!

  • from O‘ahu (Hawaii, United States)

This ring find began when I got a text from our fellow ring finder on Maui, Dave Sheldon saying a couple from Dallas Texas,  enjoying their 2nd Anniversary on Kailua Beach lost their Yellow Gold Wedding Band in the dry sand.  Shortly thereafter,  I got a call from Lauren who said her husband Daniel lost his ring in the dry sand.  I told her I could be there in about 30 minutes but parking would be chaotic.  When I arrived it took three full laps before a small car departed and there was just enough room for me to parallel park.  Daniel met me by the restroom, then walked me down to where the ring was lost.  Daniel had placed his ring in a « SHORE » ball cap without Lauren’s knowledge and when she put on the hat the ring flew out and disappeared into the soft sand.  They looked briefly but realized soon enough it was hopeless and contacted « The Ring Finders »  I started a grid search, first target a lead egg sinker.  Second target a dime.  Third target « gold ring » and the Anniversary is saved!  Aloha to Daniel & Lauren
