Lost Platinum Wedding Band at Hale Koa Volleyball Courts…FOUND!!!

  • from O‘ahu (Hawaii, United States)

This ring hunt occurred yesterday evening when I got a call from Noa who lives in Aina Haina on Oahu.  While going up to block a volleyball spike at 50 MPH, the ball struck Noa’s Platinum Wedding band and he felt it come off.  They immediately halted the game to see if anyone had spotted where it landed.  Unfortunately no one did.  They ran there hands lightly across the sand where they thought it would be but to no avail.  Noa reached out to me and I agreed I’d come right down before the night crew of detectorists hit the beach.  Easy parking and when I arrived Noa had already drawn a box of where the ring should be.  I fired up the Manticore and started the search.  The area was mostly sterile of targets.  I covered the eastern half of the court and no ring was found.  I expanded out in every direction on the eastern half but no ring.  Surprisingly, I found a 1927 Buffalo Nickel!  I even went perpendicular to my previous search, just in case.  I talked to Noa and his lovely wife Camille and the only thing left was to try the western half of the court but none of us were hopeful knowing how the ball hit Noa’s hand and the probable trajectory of his ring.  Then on about the fourth line of the grid I got a booming target and in one scoop I could here a heavy clunking in the scoop.  To all of our surprise, it was Noa’s Platinum Ring.  We can’t imagine how it got to that location just thankful to Jesus it was found.  Then there were hugs of relief all around.  Aloha to Noa & Camille!

Lost Three Silver Rings at Four Seasons Beach Ko Olina Resort…FOUND!!!

  • from O‘ahu (Hawaii, United States)

This ring find began last night when I got a call from Jaelyn who informed me that one of their guests at Four Seasons had lost three silver rings on the beach in the dry sand area of the beach chairs.  I told Jaelyn to give the guest my contact number and I would coordinate a recovery for them.  The guest, Stella, reached out to me the next morning and I agreed to come over just before noon to search.  My fear was someone probably would spot them earlier in the morning.  When I arrived I met Stella and she explained to me that she had the three rings in her short pockets and Grandma had shaken the sand off them not knowing the rings were there.  They tried searching and none could be found.  Stella thought they would be behind the chairs but the area was sterile of targets.  When I came around to the front of the chairs I got a multi target high tone hit.  First scoop pulled up the back right ring.  As I looked down the back left ring got exposed by the scoop push.  Now one more and sure enough nice high tone and one last scoop got the third ring.  Vacation saved and Stella was obviously relieved to have all three rings back on her fingers.  Aloha to Stella and her Family!

Lost White Gold and Diamond Engagement Ring at Ulua Lagoon Ko Olina Resort—FOUND!!!

  • from O‘ahu (Hawaii, United States)

This ring find began when I got a call from Dean who said his daughter Talia,  lost her White Gold Engagement Ring in Lagoon 4 in about waist deep water and they couldn’t find it.  He also told me she was getting married on Saturday!  I’d just gotten home from work but realized I had to find this ring.  I told Dean I’d pack up my gear and head right over.  Google Maps said 41 minutes and he said they would wait for me there. When I arrived Dean took me down to the shoreline and explained where the ring had fallen off Talia’s finger.  I started a few feet to the right and entered the water.  As I got to waist deep water I got a nice center dot #13 on the Manticore’s VDI and in one scoop there was Talia’s gorgeous ring sparkling in the scoop.  I yelled toward Dean on the shore, « I found it! »  Talia came down to the shoreline and I handed her the stunning ring.  She was so thankful and told me how distraught she was when it was lost.  The Wedding is now back on track.  Aloha to Talia and have a wonderful Wedding!

Lost Sentimental Gold Earring at Sandy’s Beach…FOUND!!!

  • from O‘ahu (Hawaii, United States)

This earring hunt began when I got a voicemail from Bryann who was on a Birthday Vacation on Oahu and inquired about my services she had heard from a local friend.  When we connected she told me she had lost her gold earring on Sandy’s Beach in the dry sand.  She sent me a pic of the beach with a red line drawn on it of the route she had been on when she noticed the earring was gone.  Sandy’s is heavily detected and I let her know.  She let me know it was from her late husband so I knew I had to give it my best shot.  I was at work so I told Bryann I would grab my gear when I finished and go straight there to hunt.  When I arrived,  the beach was quite crowded and part of the search area was blocked with conservation tape as turtles had nested in the area.  I started the hunt along the rock wall near the parking lot and went as close to the conservation area that I could.  After the first pass I started back the next leg and immediately got a nice low tone center line on the Manticore video display.  I took one scoop and there was Bryann’s Sentimental Gold Earring in the scoop.  I texted her a pic and told her, « You were blessed ».  After a quick pick up at my home they were off to the airport.  Bryann sent me a pic from home wearing the earring with a Shaka and a Smile.  Aloha to Bryann!

Lost Yellow Gold Cartier Juste un Clou Ring at Hilton Hawaiian Village Beach…FOUND!!!

  • from O‘ahu (Hawaii, United States)

This ring find began when I got a call from Arjun who said his friend Milena lost her Cartier Ring and they believed it might be in the dry sand at Hilton Hawaiian Village.  They were friends from High School in Sacramento California and enjoying their Hawaii vacation on the beach.  Milena had put her ring in a wallet and then a beach bag and when she went to get it the next day it was gone.  They checked everywhere they thought possible and when it wasn’t found only the beach remained.  I told Arjun I was picking up some Sushi at Kojo’s, but when I was done, I’d grab my gear and be there in about 20 minutes.  We met at the Hot Dog truck and walked to the beach.  In route we saw no less than three other metal detectorists scanning the beach.  I told Milena & Arjun that was worrisome because that beach is detected constantly.  When we arrived in the area Milena’s friend Nathaniel drew a grid box in the sand for me and I started the hunt.  Several targets were retrieved so I was thinking if the ring was lost here we have a chance.  Then I found a nice bling ring and a Silver CZ earring.  About two thirds of the way thru the grid I got a solid centerline dot 29 on the Manticore and in one scoop there was Milena’s beautiful Cartier Juste un Clou Ring in the scoop.  I pulled the ring from the scoop and held it up so Milena’s friends on the beach could see I found the ring.  They all jumped up and came running over to see.  I think I was amazed and shocked as they were.  Several tourists on the beach began to clap and shout congrats!  Milena was back in her hotel room so her friend’s took a pic of the ring and texted her to come down to the beach.  I always hand the ring back in person just to be safe.  We had several laughs and hugs and the graduates said this really cheered up their day.  Later I got a text « Your a life saver! »  I don’t know about that but these kids sure made me feel young again.  Much « Aloha » to Colleen, Jed, Arjun, Milena, Emma & Nathaniel!

Lost Oura Ring at Aulani Lagoon Ko Olina Resort… Found & Returned!!!

  • from O‘ahu (Hawaii, United States)

This ring return was triggered when I over heard on a YouTube video « Detect Florida » Shawn mentioned you can return Oura rings.  That led me to do a Google search and sure enough when I told the Oura AI Assistant that I found an Oura Ring and would like to return it.  AI asked if I could send a pic of the QR code inside the ring.  Since I had two in possession, I sent both QR Codes.  Low and behold a real person got back to me and said both were a match in their database.   Then Bridget asked if I would allow them to provide the owners with my email address and/or phone number so that they could reach out to me for a return.  Of course I agreed and the next day Dominique from Belleair, Florida contacted me.  She provided me her address and as you can see from that beautiful smile the Oura ring is back on her finger.  Aloha to Dominique!

Lost Tungsten Wedding Band at Queen’s Beach Waikiki…FOUND!!!

  • from O‘ahu (Hawaii, United States)

This ring find began when I got a phone call from a local named Phil who said a couple on Queen’s Beach in Waikiki lost a wedding band in the dry sand.  I told him I could be there in about 15 minutes.  I also told them to stop looking and just draw a box around the area.  I heard him shout out « Stop digging! »  Parking was a breeze as it was starting to drizzle.  When I got down to Queen’s Beach Phil introduced me to Edwin and his lovely wife Paola, who were on vacation from San Diego, California.  The ring was Edwin’s and he said it was a Tungsten gun metal gray ring.  The box was already drawn in the sand and you could see all the disturbed sand from hunting for the ring.  I started the grid search on the west side and worked east.  First target fell through the scoop.  Not a ring.  Next target on the drawn grid edge BOOM! Tungsten ring.  Elapsed time 45 seconds and Vacation saved!  Much Aloha to Edwin & Paola!

Lost Tiffany & Co. Silver Ring & Blue Sapphires at Lanikai Beach…FOUND!!!

  • from O‘ahu (Hawaii, United States)

This ring find began Monday, July 13th when I got a text from Dianna that said, « Hope you can help me search for a ring back in Oahu, Lanikai Beach? »  Dianna was back in California and said the ring was lost the week prior and was in knee deep water about 6 feet from the dry sand.  She also added at the end of the beach access turn right about 6-10 feet and straight in.  Knowing how much Lanikai gets detected my worst fear was it was probably found already.  I agreed to hunt Wednesday morning at low tide.  I arrived at 5:30 in the morning and good thing I did as there was only one parking spot remaining, a block from the access.  This place is very popular for the stunning sunrise from the pillbox trail.  When I got to the beach, I started my grid search a bit more to the right and worked back towards the beach access.  First target was a crusty Lincoln Cent.  Then a booming high tone.  I couldn’t believe the blessing when I looked in my scoop and there was Dianna’s gorgeous Tiffany Ring in the scoop.  I immediately went to my car and texted her a pic.  Dianna said,  » I literally had a dream last night that you found it and I woke up like Praying I hope it happens.  Prayers do work!  She was blessed.  Aloha to Dianna!

Lost Yellow Gold & Diamond Engagement Ring at Iroquois Point Beach…FOUND!!!

  • from O‘ahu (Hawaii, United States)

This ring find began when I got a late night text from Kanga which said, « Aloha! I lost my engagement ring today around 4-5 pm at Iroquois Point Beach.  I think it’s buried in the sand.  Based on your experience, do you think there’s a good chance it’s still in the sand?  I texted back, « Dry sand or in the water? I’ll see what I can do early morning. »  It was dry sand.  She only went in the water briefly and she thought she would have taken it off before going in.  Kanga sent a few pics of the area.  I told her we could meet at 6am at the beach parking lot.  When Shiraz and Kanga arrived they gave me a few more details and marked the area to search.  Shiraz said had the ring been on the blanket he would have only dumped it off as he didn’t snap the blanket which could have thrown the ring a good distance and who knows which direction.  I fired up the Manticore and started the grid search.  On the first leg, only a chunk of foil, which sounded terrific.  Then on the return leg I got a nice tone and looked down.  There proudly exposed was the gorgeous diamond sparkling in the morning sun.  I reached down picked it up and it was a Marquise cut beauty.  Got it!  Kanga & Shiraz came running over to see.  Kanga was obviously choked up a bit, as she spent so much time hunting the beach and home because she wasn’t positive when it had come off.  This beautiful couple is getting married on the 4th of July.  So happy the ring will be there!  Aloha to Kanga & Shiraz!

Lost Tungsten Wedding Band at Aulani Beach Ko Olina Resort…FOUND!!!

  • from O‘ahu (Hawaii, United States)

This ring find began as I was hunting the Aulani lagoon this morning, when a lady named Brenda, approached me and said, « My brother in law Ryan lost his gray Titanium ring right in this area. »  She was pointing in the area of the lagoon I had just gone through and found a gray Tungsten ring about ten minutes prior.  She asked if she could take a picture of the ring and send to him as he was off on an ABC store run.  Shortly there after she came back and said, « That’s the one! »  Often times people don’t remember the metal type of their rings.  A short time later Ryan and his lovely wife Linda arrived and the ring was a perfect fit.  Ryan told me he had been throwing a football when it came off but wasn’t exactly sure where it had fallen.  Vacation saved and back to San Francisco tomorrow with his ring on his finger.  Aloha to Ryan & Linda!
