Lost White Gold Ring Found Inside Vehicle in Oakland Township Michigan

The Golden Rider….

…As Kevin was preparing to wash and wax his Camaro, he put his ring into his pocket. Waiting for the wax to set up he started a few other outside chores. Completing the buffing and polishing, he washed his hands, hopped into the car and drove off to his brother’s house. On the way he noticed his ring wasn’t on, so he reached into his pocket. After pulling his hand out there was no ring. Arriving at his brother’s house they searched the car but found nothing. Back at home Kevin and his wife searched all over the place for the ring to no avail. When I arrived, I searched the grass areas with my MXT metal detector with no success. I suggested we look in the car again. With a flashlight I was able to see pretty good all the hiding places the ring may be. Still no success. Reaching under the seat there was an opening in the carpet where wires came out. Reaching into the compartment I felt a round object wedged tightly just at the tip of my fingers. Using a small hook and wiggling the wires a bit I was able to free the object. Pulling it to where I could see what it was, I was thrilled it was Kevin’s ring! Holding it in the air Kevin and his wife came running over totally astonished that the ring was in the car. Thrilled that it was found we laughed at the fact that he had a little golden rider in his golden ride all along and never knew it!

Lost Silver ring recovered on Hove beach

  • from Kent (England, United Kingdom)

Received a call from Antony this afternoon , he explained how during this mornings family’s swimming trip his daughters very precious heirloom silver ring had been lost on a beach in Hove , his daughter had removed her ring and placed it on a towel before swimming, however as the tide was rising , her mother moved the towel further up the beach , not realising that the ring was on the towel , hence the precious silver was lost in the fine shingle .

I arranged to meet Antony a couple of hours later as the tide was now receding, and he was confident he could direct me to the exact area of beach the silver ring was lost , and after a few minutes of detecting the ring was recovered, it was only a couple of inches under the shingle , so a reasonably easy recovery, thanks to both the exact location being known , and a ring finder to recover it .

  • from Lavallette (New Jersey, United States)

Got a call from Mike, his son lost his cross in Lavallette NJ (OB3) while doing lifeguard exercises yesterday morning when the chain it was on broke. I told him to mark the location on his cell phone and I would get back to him later. This cross had great sentimental value as it was given to him by his grandmother a few years back. It will now be back on his chain thanks to their quick phone call, and precise mark of the location. Special thank you for keeping our swimmers safe.

Wedding Ring Recovered at Johnson Beach Florida

  • from Orange Beach (Alabama, United States)

Hal called me about 4 in the afternoon to see if I could find his wife’s lost wedding ring. He and his family were staying near the Alabama beaches and decided to take their boat out to a secluded beach in Florida called Johnson Beach. Johnson Beach is part of the Gulf Islands National Seashore and the ring was lost on the intercostal side of the beach. Hal sent me a location and there wasn’t a way for me get to them by car without a 3 or 4 mile walk through the National Seashore which doesn’t allow metal detecting for archeology reasons. I tried calling the Park service for a permit but I think everyone was off work and I got a recording. I discussed this with Hal and he said he would come get me from a marina several miles away. By the time I got to where the ring was lost the sun was getting pretty low in the sky! his wife was afraid she would never see her ring again. the area to search wasn’t that big but the water was dark from recent rain. I ask lots of questions about what they were doing to try and pinpoint the location to start the search. His wife and daughter described at one point they were in the water doing cheers routines and animated with their arms the activity. It was the clue I was hoping for and asked about where they were. They identified and areas about 10 foot wide and I started the search. Within 10 minutes I got the unmistakable tone of a gold ring. Ring recovered, everyone happy and I didn’t get arrested by the Park police, a good day all around!

Lost Gold Ring Found in Grosse Pointe Michigan

A Golden Get-Away……

…was finally in the works for Jessica as she arrived for her first visit to Michigan. Excited to spend time with some friends in the back yard, somehow her gold ring took a get-away off her finger. The ring has always had a special meaning since she received it from a family member. Pressed for time with a busy schedule, she didn’t want to leave it and continue with the fun activities planned. On arrival I quickly started to grid search the area in question with my MXT metal detector and in less than 10 minutes I got a nice signal thru the headphones of the metal detector and a good reading on the metal detector meter. As I lifted the ring out of the grass Jessica immediately knew it was found and came running towards me from the picnic table. Totally thrilled that it was in the yard and not somewhere else a sigh of relief came over her as she held it in her hand. Now with the ring captured she was excited again to start enjoying her ‘Welcome to Michigan’ golden get-away.

How to Find a Diamond Stud Earring in Soccer Field .. Costa Mesa, CA.

*** How to find a diamond stud earring in a artificial grass soccer field. Alissa called asking if I had the equipment to find a small white gold stud earring. She said her young daughter had lost the stud earring while playing goalie, so they believed it would be near the goal zone. That was sounding better as it would be time consuming to grid search a whole soccer field with a 9” detector coil.

Another concern was we could not get on the Orange Coast College soccer field with out supervision of the caretakers of the field. It has a 20ft. fence around the whole artificial grass field. Timing was important as the caretakers would me us there at a preset time and after opening the gate they watched over the search process.

We walked over to the far north goal area and I set up my high frequency metal detector to pick up micro small gold. I could see why the college want to protect the field. The artificial turf was thick and it could easily hide a small earring. I was told by the caretakers that the artificial turf was installed using nails. ( I didn’t get interference from any sort of nail, etc. ). I got a couple small high pitched signal on my test swings. Then after doing two 10ft. grid lines, I returned to those signals and “BINGO” !! the diamond stud earring. Both the mother and daughter were ecstatic. They said the backing wasn’t important but I checked the other signal, BOOM !! the backing.

It was about 20 minutes total including walking over to the other side of the field. The caretakers were doubting that this small object could be found, but now they are believers. All in all, it was a good search, especially when we probably only had one opportunity to get on the field.

Every search has it’s challenges. You can’t find it if you don’t try..

If you have lost something of value please call or text ASAP..  It doesn’t matter what time you call .. I will answer the call .. Stan The Metal Detector Man , member of TheRingFinders metal detecting service directory . I WILL TRY ANYWHERE

I got a call from a young man who needed help searching his parents yard for his lost wedding band, sadly he lost his ring the day he got married, at the reception in his parents backyard. His friend came over the next day to help search for two hours with a metal detector, but no luck. After asking my questions I decided to head out the next morning to Abbotsford which is over an hour drive to help this young man find his wedding band. He was working that day so I met his mother and she showed me the area where he was in the yard which is pretty much the whole backyard, I set up my gridlines and began to search, it was a hot day and after an hour I found his beautiful gold wedding band that was on his hand less than a half a day.

I gotta say I get just excited to find what I’m looking for as the person I find it for, I can understand how painful that must’ve been losing something so sentimental that was just giving to you that day from a person you’re gonna spend the rest your life with that you love very much.

It was an honour to be able to help continue that story for him, as his story was just beginning! I have to say he was not the first and he will not be the last to lose his ring on his wedding day.

Special Necklace Lost at Manhattan Beach…Found and Joyfully Returned.

Aidan contacted me about looking for a special necklace he had lost earlier that day. It was now about 8:00 PM, and I know the county cleans the beach regularly, so I asked him if he would be able to meet me there to show me where he had been when the loss occurred. He said he would check with his mom for a ride as he was coming from Pasadena which is about 30 miles from the beach. He called back to let me know that his mom was more than willing to give the ride, so I agreed to meet them as soon as they could get there.

It was about 9:45 PM when we all got there. Aidan was there with his mom and brother, and he walked me out to the area he had been. He showed me where he had set his things, so I began my grid. Pass after pass, and nothing. Not even very much trash metal. He then said that his friend had moved their stuff to the other side of the Lifeguard tower, so it might have fallen along the way. He then went over to the other side, and asked if I would come over there as well. I did while working in the area they had possibly walked, nothing. He showed me the new area, and I began a new grid. As I searched Aidan walked out over to the bathrooms where the showers were, but I plugged on. Pass after pass, then a really good signal, I scooped, and there in the bottom was a chain with some items attached, it was about 11:00 PM. I looked, and Aidan was pretty far from me, but his mother was on the other side of the tower, so I walked over to her, and said that I think we have looked long enough, and that they should get on their way home. She looked at me with resignation until held my hand out with Aidan’s necklace in it. When she saw it she just ran off yelling for him saying he found it, he found it! I found out that two of those pendants were given him by his mom, one at birth, and the other on another special occasion. The little soccer shoe was given him by a friend who had got it in Italy just a couple of weeks before. What great way to end a day!

Heirloom Ring Lost at the Wedge Newport Beach…Found and Happily Returned.

I got a desperate call from Jake who had driven up from San Diego to surf the infamous Wedge in Newport Beach. He had worn his ring that was made by his great great grandfather, and had been handed down from generation to generation. Before he went into the water he put the ring in his shorts so that it would not be lost in the pounding surf that day. I let him know that I would be there as soon as possible, and was on my way.

When I got there Jake was worried because the tide was coming in and beginning to wash over the area he had originally put his belongings. It did not look too bad, so I reassured him that if it was lost there it should still be there. I began my search where he had first been, and worked my way out the way he had left the beach. I was finding a few items, mostly metal trash. I continued my grid working back and forth across where he had walked. I kept working finding more metal trash as I got further from the water, but no ring. It wasn’t until I got to almost where he was seated on a light post foundation that I got a signal, dug and saw a ring in the scoop. I could see that it was unique, so I closed it in my hand and asked Jake if he could tell me what the ring looked like. He gave an exact description, then I held my hand out and opened it to his excited surprise. He was able to drive back home with the comfort of having this precious heirloom back on his finger. Love to see those smiles!
