Orange Beach, AL – Lost Ring in the surf – FOUND!!!

  • from Orange Beach (Alabama, United States)

I really hope Lisa and her husband take the time to tell their story when they read this because this is one of those occasions where there was some serious skepticism going on. 😁 I don’t blame them a bit, it takes a serious leap of faith to call someone and explain where your wedding rings are and not worry. Luckily, they decided to trust me and gave me a call. Lisa had been boogie boarding the day before and when she came in all the way to shore a wave crashed over her and took her wedding ring with it. When I got there the next day it was noticeably rougher and we were worried that the ring had been pulled out to sea or buried so deep it would be hard to find. Nevertheless I started searching the area that Lisa pointed out to me. I spent a few hours searching back and forth doing my best to hold steady in the current until I was starting to worry. About that time a sweet little red headed young lady on the beach yelled out, “excuse me sir, are you looking for my Mommy’s ring?”  I asked her if her Mom was Lisa and she said yes. She went on to say that she thought the ring was down the beach a bit. I asked her if she was sure because her Mom had pointed out this area. With the confidence of a child she walked me down the beach a little farther and said she was sure it was in here. After only two passes I heard a gold tone and I was quickly on my way to tell Lisa that she owed her daughter a new toy or present. 😃 I was so happy to find this ring and it made it even better to show the whole family that they could trust their new friend in Orange Beach if they ever needed me again. 👍

Lost Gold & Diamond Wedding & Engagement Rings at Lanikai Beach…FOUND!!!

  • from O‘ahu (Hawaii, United States)

This ring find began when I got a text from Kate who was on vacation from Los Angeles, California with her husband Ryan. The text said after hours of desperation she found my profile on the Ring Finders and decided to text me. She wasn’t sure I could help so I gave here a call. Kate told me that she had put her rings in her short pocket then wrapped them in a towel before entering the water at Lanikai Beach. It wasn’t until later that day at Waimanalo Beach that she reached in the short pocket to retrieve them and the rings were gone. She figured they had to of fallen out back at Lanikai and when they returned they were nowhere to be found. Lanikai is heavily detected so I asked if they could meet at my house in a few hours and take one car to the beach as parking is nonexistent. I didn’t want another detectorist to find the rings. They agreed and we met and headed to Lanikai. Ryan dropped Kate & I at the beach access and went to find parking. Kate took me to the location on the beach after a little hesitation on the location she was sure we were in the correct spot. Thankfully no one was in the grid she drew in the sand for me. As I started the search I found a piece of foil and then a corona bottle cap. I got my hopes up as another detectorist would have pulled those. Then a moment later I got a double beep and looked down at the sand. There peeking up from the sand was a sparkling diamond. I looked over at Kate as I grabbed the ring she came over and was so elated and full of joy. She said I got the best one. I said no there is another target and I handed her the bottle cap. She yelled that’s not my ring…I said, No there is another target in the sand. However, it took two scoops to recover the Yellow Gold Cartier Love Ring Wedding Band. Now Kate was over the moon with joy. We walked along the beach to get back to wherever Ryan might have found parking discussing how lucky no one spotted the diamond. As we turned down the beach access path Ryan was at the other end and I gave him a thumbs up. I think he was astonished how quickly we recovered Kate’s rings. They both agreed they could now enjoy the rest of their vacation without the lost rings hanging over their heads. I meet the most wonderful people during these recoveries. Aloha to Kate & Ryan!

Massive Platinum Ring Lost in Kae Conroe, Texas

I was contacted by Dan who was looking for someone to help him find his custom-made platinum ring in 4 feet of water in Lake Conroe. Dan reported he was at the lake with friends enjoying the water when his ring slipped of his finger. Dan said they had pulled the boat into a cover with a nice sandy beach and were enjoying the cool water on the hot 95-degree day.

Dan said while splashing around in the water his large platinum ring slid off his finger and dropped down into about 4′ of water. Dan said the bottom was a nice sandy bottom and he immediately dove down to find the ring. Dan said he and several of his friends search for hours with no luck finding his lost ring. Dan said he returned several days later with an underwater metal detector and was still unsuccessful at finding his lost ring.

As luck would have it, Dan’s wife found a post on Facebook about another ring recovery we had worked on Lake Conroe a few weeks earlier. Dan said his wife placed the call and arrangements were made to me Dan at Lake Conroe.

I placed a call to my business partner Carl to confirm he would be available to assist in this open water recovery, and we set a date and time for Lake Conroe. Carl and I made the trip to Lake Conroe a day later and as one can see from the photos below we were successful and finding the missing ring.

Another great day!

Family Heirloom Necklace Recovered in Sea Girt NJ by Dennis Burlingame

Got a text from Jason asking for help to locate his necklace that was lost on Sea Girt beach the day before. I called him and told him I could be there within a half hour if he wanted to meet me to show me where they were. I met him and he showed me the general area he remembered they were sitting and told me that his son was wearing the necklace and gave it to him to go swimming so not to lose it. Jason put it into the cup holder on his beach chair and forgot about it. Not sure where it was lost, we both hoped it was in the area where he was and it fell out when he folded the chair to leave. I started a grid of the area and about the 5th pass of the grid I got a solid signal, I took a scoop of sand and I saw the cross sticking out of the sand at the bottom of the hole. I reached down and pulled the chain out and held it up. Jason was so relieved and happy I was able to return it to him being an heirloom from the family. A happy ending for all.

Lost – Mens Platinum Wedding Band, Kill Devil Hills, Outer Banks, OBX, NC – FOUND!

  • from New Smyrna Beach (Florida, United States)

I received a call from Anthony.  He told me that he was in an ocean front rental and had lost his platinum wedding band.  I asked him the normal questions about, was it in the water, does he know when and a general location?  His answers were all good.

I assured him that if it was not in the water, we had an excellent chance of finding the ring.  I told him that I would arrive in less than 30 minutes.

When I arrived, Anthony showed me an area of beach that he thought he lost the ring in.  It was about 30 yards by 10 yards.  I fired up the Deus II and as I normally do, I started at the beach side and did sweeps working up to the area where he had chairs.

One the first 30-yard pass, I found a can.  The second pass…nothing! On the third pass I got a good hit number for a ring.  He said that was a good spot.

Sure enough, the ring was in the scoop!  Anthony and his party were overjoyed!!

Dallas, Tx – the Aggie Ring Disappears

  • from Dallas (Texas, United States)
Contact:

Rec’d a call from Mr. Garcia requesting our services to hunt for a most valuable possession…his Texas Aggie ring. (Anyone from Texas knows how much those rings mean to their owners!)   Mr. Garcia had been moving out of his current residence to move to another city so locating this ring was imperative to say the least. He picked up a broken pair of sunglasses and threw them sidearm across the yard, when he did he saw his beloved Aggie Ring go flying.  He had spent Friday evening (3 hrs), Saturday afternoon (2 hrs) and again Sunday, another 3 hrs but that important ring was no where to be found! We arrived with our Garrett metal detectors, Pinpointers and a can-do attitude and stayed in the Texas heat to help as best we could.  We detected grass, huge bushes and even areas where we felt it might have gotten kicked or raked over to, but, nada, nothing, it was still lost.  Mr. Garcia had no doubt whatsoever where he saw it bounce across his yard and knew it absolutely HAD to be there, somewhere. We decided to re-search the areas beneath the huge bushes, on hands and knees with only our Pinpointers and low and behold….found it!!!  Amazingly enough it was found under the roots of one of the largest bushes.  How it traveled to where it was found is beyond imagination but…when one method doesn’t work determination proves there’s always another.

Gold Ring Lost on Hillside in Laguna Niguel, CA.. Found in Ivy and Leaves

Metal Detecting Service Laguna Niguel, CA. ..  .. Call Stan the Metal Detector Man ..  949-500-2136

**** Lisa Called me asking for help to find a ring her mother,  Vicki had lost while feeding birds in her backyard. The ring was actually very special as it was her husband’s wedding ring and he had recently past away.

I was able to get to the home in Laguna Niguel, CA. just an hour before dark. I knew this search may take a few hours, it was important to see the area to be searched so I can wear the proper clothing and bring the best tools for the search.

The ring had come off Vicki’s finger as she tossed bird seed over a plant and the ring had went down a 45 degree slope that had ivy and leaves. Perfect place to hide the ring, but not so nice to search for a ring.

I did a short search that first evening and returned the next morning with long pants, long sleeve shirt, gloves and proper shoes for the area to be searched. I began at the bottom of the slope on  my hands and knees. ( almost impossible to stand on the steep slope.)

Using a detector that had a short shaft and following up with a Garrett Pinpointer. I worked 5 ft square areas,  one at a time before moving over to the next 5ft.square. Two hours after starting I got a great signal and in the leaves there was the sight of gold as I moved a few leaves. RING SAVED!!

I was surprised how far the ring ended up, far to the left of where she had thrown the bird seed. This seems to be common , often rings lost while throwing objects seem the come off at the end of the motion. ?? Also rings lost over hillsides travel much further than you think. This ring traveled more than 40 feet from where she was standing and 20 more feet to the left of what I had planned to grid search.

It is hard to describe the look on Vicki’s face when I went to her door and held up the ring. Also her daughter Lisa couldn’t be there, but texted me a beautiful message saying how much this meant to the whole family..

I WILL TRY ANYWHERE .. Timing is important call ASAP .. Stan the Metal Detector Man .. 949-500-2136  ..I Will Answer the Call.

Caddo Lake Lost Ring Mishap on a Kayak

  • from Dallas (Texas, United States)
Contact:

Drove  out to Caddo Lake for an individual to look for two very special rings. She is a nature photographer by trade (& a very good one) and had taken her rings off and placed them in the fold of her lap/shirt while in the kayak to get a pic of a bird.  Excited about the pic she continued to kayak around the cove snapping pictures and when it was time to head back in she paddled to the spot where she entered the lake.  Feeling the solid ground beneath the kayak she stood up to exit the craft and her rings plopped in the murky water.  In her panic to recover the rings she placed her camera equipment on shore and tried to feel around beneath the water to no avail. In the span of just a few hours she had purchased two different types of metal detectors and even tried to shovel clumps of Muddy Muck   from the edge of the lake.  However, a park ranger did not see the humor in that, made her stop and told her to call someone professional but that she was not to dig again.  She called us.  Due to the metal garbage in the lake we had to first remove all things that set off our detectors and then proceed to concentrate on the jewelry specified sounds.  One of her rings belonged to her mother (who recently passed away) and the other was her engagement ring.  After a couple hours searching thru the mud and the muck We found one beautiful ring which had belong to her mother.  The engagement ring is still elusive and we will have to travel back to continue the search another day.
