Lost Silver Wedding Band Regina Saskatchewan Found

  • from Moose Jaw (Saskatchewan, Canada)

Logan and his father were adding gravel to his rear driveway and spreading it with a front end loader and shovel during the work, Logan noticed that his wedding band was missing.  Logan also mentioned that he recently lost some weight, and the ring was fitting very loose.  So perfect scenario for a ring to slid off.

I started searching where Logan was laying the gravel in his driveway.  I had a lot of junk signals.  There were a couple of iffy signals in about 5 to 6 inches deep.  I moved to the next location where Logan was reworking the right side of the driveway.  On my fist pass here I got a solid signal 2 inches down using my pin pointer to find the target I brushed the gravel away and the silver ring appeared. He was so happy that it was found to say the least, I love mt hobby.

Thank you, Logan, on the opportunity to find your gold wedding ring.

Lost gold ring found in London

  • from London (Ontario, Canada)

Driving along on the freeway, this gentleman had a welding mask fly out of the truck in front of him that actually got lodged under his car. So he had to pull over on the snow covered shoulder and dislodge this mask from under his car. Unfortunately, while doing so, his wedding ring had come off. His wife helped him look for his ring for an hour, but luck was not on their side. The next day he had found me online, and we set a time to meet up on the highway. I’m glad to say he will be taking his wedding ring home today!

Lost White Gold Engagement Ring-Found!

  • from Chattanooga (Tennessee, United States)

I received a text from Leslie on Monday afternoon concerning a lost engagement ring.  She had found me with an internet search.  As it was late in the day I told her I could come the next day, becase it was about a two hour drive from where I’m located.  I got to the site at around 11:00 AM Central Time.   The couple had been pulling a boat and pulled off into the parking lot of an old convience store that had been converted into another use.  As they got out to adjust the boat straps, (the ring had been placed in the shallow tray under the door handle), the ring somehow went flying.  They looked on the pavement and didn’t see it, but there was a grass strip between the pavement and a shallow ditch, then more grass just beyond the ditch.  I started my search in the grass strip, then the ditch, then just beyond the ditch.  Being this had been a convience store at one time I expected a lot of metal trash in the ground, and I was right.  She did have a metal detector that had been her grandfather’s, but was overwhelmed by the abundance of metal trash.  I searched slowly and methodically while listening for the white gold tone and looking for the target ID I typically get for white gold rings.  After searching the entire area, no ring.  Of course I found several pieces of foil.  I turned off my CTX detector, and was explaing the process, where I search the most likely area first, then expand the search area if the ring is not found, (a visual scan of the pavement was next).  At that time someone from the building, I’ll call him « Tom », came out and we explained what we were doing, and that a visual scan of the pavement was next.  He struck out towards the highway, and in around ten seconds I heard him call out, « is this it? »  He had found it around 10-12 feet from the edge of a busy highway!  The ring was intact, but had some minor damage where it looked as though it had been run over and stuck in the tire treads before dropping off just before the highway.  In a visual search, the more eyes the better.  All in all, another successful search!

Stefania called me to help find her husband’s lost wedding band on the beach in Wildwood Crest, NJ. They left the beach a few hours prior and realized it was missing. She explained that Chris put the ring in the chair and figured it must have fallen out when she packed up. I met the family on the beach in the general area and began the search. The ring didn’t turn up in the search area, so the only option was to look where a nearby couple was sitting. The couple was kind to move their belongings
and it wound up being under their chair! Stefania and Chris were excited to get the ring back and resume the remainder of their vacation in Wildwood Crest, NJ.

Kyle was tossing a football in the ocean when his wedding band got knocked off his finger. It flew in the water when the ball hit his hand. He and his family were on the beach in North Wildwood, NJ when Jackie called me with the details. I met up with them and searched the area, but the ring didn’t come up. The tide had gone out a bit since he lost it, so some beachgoers had moved closer to the water. The only spot left to check was an area where two people were sitting. They kindly moved their chairs and, lo and behold, the ring was buried in the sand below! It was an exciting end to the search in North Wildwood, NJ.

Diamond Ring Lost from Moving Vehicle in Monmouth, IL…Found

  • from Bettendorf (Iowa, United States)

A couple of weeks ago I received a call for a ring search just over an hour from my home.  Unfortunately, due to my schedule I was unable to attempt a locate of the ring until this past weekend.  The ring was lost along a country gravel road near Monmouth, IL.  Monica, the owner of the ring, was traveling down the road at approximately 40 MPH when she made a waving gesture out the window and off went her ring off into the ditch full of knee high grass.  Fortunately, Monica immediately identified a nearby landmark so that she could recall the approximate area of the loss.

I met Monica’s husband at the location on Sunday morning and I was shown the most likely stretch of ditch that the ring may have landed.  You can see from my photo that the location was about 50 yards long from where I was standing to my car in the distance.  The grass was just waiting to be searched.

The grass was too tall for my larger coils, so I used my 6″ sniper coil on my Equinox 800 so that I could get easily get deep into the grass.  I combed the roadway edge first, but came up empty.  I worked my way into the ditch and searched completely from road edge to fence line.  Eventually, I got a solid tone and a 15 on my VDI.  I grabbed my Garrett carrot and pinpointed the target deep in the grass.  As I moved the grass blades out of the way, the bright sun shined down on the ring and it reflected back at me.  I picked it up and sure enough it was just like the one in a picture that Monica had sent to me.

Needless to say, I was glad to have found Monica’s ring.  It is a beautiful ring and it was truly a memorable search that I won’t soon forget.  I sent a text to Monica with only pictures of her ring.  I immediately received a call from her and was she very grateful for this recovery.  It was my pleasure to return her ring.
