Lady’s white gold 3-ring set lost in Hudson, WI while kayaking – Now found!

  • from Saint Paul (Minnesota, United States)

Marie and her husband Zack were on a guided kayaking trip down a small river in WI when Marie got swept into a swift and deep part of the river that had low-hanging branches blocking the way.  She had no choice but to go through and duck as best she could to avoid getting hurt by the branches.

As Marie was doing her best to get herself and her kayak out of trouble, the kayak tipped over and she went sprawling into the river.  She made it to shore, dumped the water out of her kayak and started again on her journey down the river.

A few hundred yards past the spot where she went in, Marie discovered that her 3 rings welded together were missing and let Zack know the bad news.  She was certain that the most likely spot the rings were lost was back up stream where she went in.

Zack call me 6 days later and told me the story.  I knew that the hunt wasn’t going to be an easy one and Zack said it was a bit of a hike to get to the site, so I contacted two buddies who also have a lot of experience searching for rings.  The more people searching, the better the chances a ring will be found – especially in a river.

Zack met us in town near the river and we followed him to the a parking spot about 3/4 mile away from the search site.  We got on our waders, got our gear together and walked through some little-used trails and across the river to the spot where Marie’s kayak tipped over.  I was surprised how fast and how deep the water was at this particular spot. We knew some of the water was too deep to search, but we covered every bit we could.

It was Mike who eventually found the rings by taking off his waders and going deeper into the river.  He found it right where the kayak likely tipped over: immediately after the low-hanging branches.  Zack was thrilled and gave us a generous reward.

I was really impressed by Zack’s effort to get his wife’s rings back.  He was very determined and really thought things through.  Below are pictures of Zack and the rings.

Lost custom gold wedding band in the ocean at Kits Beach, Vancouver…Found!

  • from Vancouver (British Columbia, Canada)

I got a call from a young man who told me that he lost his custom gold wedding band in the ocean while trying to learn how to paddle board.

The water was rough that day and he had a hard time getting up on the board, he kept falling into water and he remembered that it was waste deep and a sandy bottom.

That helps me a lot as when I went down there on the slope at low tide there was a lot of rocks and further out there was the sand. He told me that he didn’t know when the ring came off his finger and that makes it hard to narrow down the area.

He put me in an area of about 70 yards wide and about 60 yards long…That is pretty huge when you’re in water and looking for something as small as a ring but I love the search!

After listening to his story many times I desided to start the search out front of where he entered the water and I went up to waist deep and started searching up and back from waist deep to ankle deep and after the 5th gridline and only an hour I hit a strong loud & proud signal and I was thrilled to see the gold in the scoop!

Lost Diamond Ring at Vancouver Park / Playground…Found!

  • from Vancouver (British Columbia, Canada)

I had a early morning search in a lake at Whistler, BC that took me 1 hour & 45 minutes each way. I arrived 7am to find out the the ring was lost in water that was over my head…I still tried by standing on a log near the dock and trying to detect around the area but after 2 hours I packed it up and called a diver from my directory to come out and find it.

Just 20 minutes away from home I got a call from a young lady who asked if I could help find her diamond ring that was lost at a playground. She found TheRingFinders.com online and called…I was on my way!

I met with the family and she showed me the areas the ring could have been lost then she took a cab to work while her husband & kids stayed behind. The crazy thing was that she put her rings in her pocket and when she went to put them back on all she had was her wedding band…Some how the engagement ring disappeared.

I searched the most likely areas like the swing and slide but no ring? I then started a grid from where they parked to where they sat on the ground and after 2 lines of the grid there was the ring slightly covered by grass.

Lost diamond ring at Spanish Banks Beach…Found after 2 days!

  • from Vancouver (British Columbia, Canada)

I was at work when I got a call from a young lady who asked if I could help her find her lost diamond ring. I asked where it was lost and when it was lost and she told me it was lost at Spanish Banks beach and that it was lost for 2 days and that she’d cried for 2 days.

She said that she happened to read a story online about a member of TheRingFinders and thought that she had to reach out and give it a shot.

I explained that there was a chance that the beach machine could have scooped it up or another detectorist could have found it as it was lost for 2 days.

That being said I was excited to go to the beach after working a 14 hour day because for me this is what relaxes me the most…A good treasure hunt!!

It was 11 PM and the young lady sent me a google earth map of the location where she’d lost the ring.

She said it was in front of the volley ball court # 3 or #4 I started my search and after searching all of court 3 & 4 I had no ring…Could have someone already found it? maybe or maybe she was a little off with her directions.

I expanded my search to court 5 & 6 and I found the ring minutes later in front of court 6 where she was sitting.

Lost Gold & Diamond Pendant in Cloverdale, BC…Found!

  • from Vancouver (British Columbia, Canada)

I got an email asking if I could help find a lost pendent the other day so I replied yes I can…We later take on the phone and arranged a time and place to search for the lost diamond pendant.

I showed up to a lovely neighbourhood and met the husband (Howard) of the lady who lost the pendant. He showed me the location and it wasn’t big but had its challenges due to the beautiful flowers and plants in the garden.

When this happens I use the detector in the area but not close to the plants then I come in with the pin pointer to search around the plants and bingo! There it was under a plant in only 1 inch or so in the earth. I love this job because its the best job in the world to be able to find peoples lost smiles!

I asked how he found me and he said while he was looking for a way to search for the ring himself online he found TheRingFinders Directory and thought he’d give it a try.

Wedding Ring Lost at Clearwater Beach (found) by SRARC

Mike was down from Virginia visiting Clearwater Beach with his wife and 3 children for spring break. Yesterday afternoon he stepped out onto the beach and into the water. When he got about knee deep he thought it might be a good idea to remove his wedding ring and store it in his pocket for safe keeping. As he was pulling it off of his finger it slipped from his grip and fell into the water. After frantically searching on his hands and knees for a while it became clear that he would not find it. He returned to his room and worried about it for several hours before searching the internet for help. When he did, the Ring Finders popped right up and he found the SRARC Ring Finders group. He called that evening and we set up a meet time in front of the Hotel on Clearwater Beach. At 8:00 am the next morning, Mike Miller, Mark Sillence, Wayne Cree, Jerry Schneider, and Rick Magyar showed up for the recovery. After listening to Mike’s story and getting clear on the area the wedding ring was lost we started the search. In about 15 minutes Rick gave the thumbs up and brought Mike his ring. We got lots of smiles and hugs from him as he celebrated the return of is ring. It was a real pleasure for us to meet Mike and be able to make his day. Thanks to all who participated.

Purity Ring lost, Found and Returned on Anna Maria Island, Florida

Purity Ring Lost, Found and Returned on Anna Maria Island

A Leadership conference group from the G5 Church in Davenport, Florida came down to Anna Maria Island for a day of rest and relaxation. Some of the young people were playing soccer in the warm sand when BreAnn fell down. When she got up, her hands were all covered with sand. (You know how it is when you have suntan lotion on and dip your hands into sand) She pulled her Purity ring off so she could get the sand out from under it and immediately dropped it into the sand. It of course disappeared. They all looked and looked with no luck. They started to sift the whole area with play plastic sand strainers and another member of the group went in search of a metal detector. He found a detector but they were not successful in finding the ring. Finally because the day was coming to an end and they needed to return to the Orlando area, Josana started looking on the internet for help. She found SRARC on the Ring Finders and contacted Tom Jones. Tom contacted Mike Miller and Mike headed down to the Island right away. When he arrived they showed him the area they had sifted (only about 6 sq. ft.) and he got ready to hunt. Two swings later he got the gold tone, leaned over and picked up the ring. It was in the pile of sand that they had sifted and one of the sifters was actually sitting on top of it.

BreAnn was overjoyed and the others were in shock that it was found so fast. They were all smiling and excited that BreAnn had her ring back. We had a round of hugs and then they were on their way home. I think they must have had a very happy ride home. It is always a pleasure for us at SRARC to be able to return special items to their owner.
