Amy was visiting the grave site where her precious little one–Jean Francis Butterfly Butler– was laid to rest. It was a rather warm January day and the rings on Amy’s ring finger were feeling tight so she removed them and slid them into her pocket-along with the keys to her van. It was a quiet and peaceful time, sitting there by her little one’s grave site, as Amy reflected on the many things she had to be thankful for. Soon it was time to pick up her 7 year old daughter from school, so she folded up her lawn chair and headed to the van, pulling out the keys from her pocket as made her way across the short grassy area. As she slid into the drivers seat she remembered her rings and reached into her pocket and discovered–NO RINGS! Frantically she retraced her steps to where she was sitting and after a thorough search she was able to find her wedding band, but no diamond engagement ring. She walked back and for over the small area–but could not find her precious ring.
The thought came to her–about renting a metal detector–so she went online and found a place but they were located way up in the northeast part of the country and the gentleman on the phone recommended she look up theringfinders.com! Happy to have someone so close by to help, Amy gave me a call and I was able to meet her within the hour! After meeting and hearing the details, Amy began retracing her steps and explaining to me that her ring was probably not along here because she had looked the area over very well….and in the middle of her sentence she looked down and there was her lost ring laying beside a flowerpot and partially hidden in the grass! She let out an « Oh my Goodness! » and bent over and picked up her own ring. It was so good to meet you Amy and to help YOU find your lost ring!

Lost wedding ring in grass, Orlando, Fl……Found!

  • from Sanford (Florida, United States)
Contact:

David was playing a lively game of « keep away » on his driveway with his two children and never even realized his wedding ring had come off! During the action of throwing the ball and jumping around, his gold wedding ring came off of his finger and landed on the concrete. At that exact instant his son, Jonathan, actually inadvertently kicked it and what they heard was the « clink » of his ring hitting the driveway and then the clink, clink as it bounced off into the grass. No one realized what it actually was–thinking maybe Jonathan had kicked a nail or screw or some other metal object. They finished up their game and went inside for the evening.
It was not until the next day that David noticed his gold wedding ring was not on his finger. That’s when Jonathan remembered the metal clinking sound during there keep away game and thought that maybe it was his father’s gold wedding ring. So they ran outside and started looking up and down the driveway, in the grass and even out into the street. And still they could not find David’s ring. David then considered borrowing a metal detector and that’s when someone suggested he give me a call. I agreed to meet David later that same day at his home and assured him I would do my best to find his lost wedding ring.
After meeting David and his children and hearing their story I decided to begin my search along the grassy strip by the street and then worked my way up the left side of the driveway. The grass was very short and sparse with a few dead leaves here and there. David and his kids were watching my every move and could hear my metal detector sounding off on various targets. About 10 minutes into my search I got a really nice signal and there hiding under a single leaf was David’s lost wedding ring. I never get tired of seeing that look of sheer joy and hearing that heartfelt « Thank You!! » It was an honor and a privilege to find your lost ring and to meet your dear family!

Lost engagement ring in Orlando, Fl….Found!

Jason called Thursday morning to see if I could help him find his wife’s lost engagement ring in some bushes at their apartment complex in Orlando! I asked a few pertinent questions to help determine where the rings might be hiding and if there was a good chance they could be found. Jason briefly explained what happened and mentioned that Amber, his wife, had actually lost both her wedding and engagement rings. And after a frantic search they were able to find the wedding ring but not the lost engagement ring! He went on to say that they contemplated renting a metal detector but then found theringfinders.com web site and decided to give me a call.
I reassured them that I would get there ASAP and that the chances were very good of finding her lost ring.
The actual area where the rings landed was small but full of various types of bushes, shrubs and decorative grassy types of plants. One of the grounds crew had actually used a leaf blower to try and remove some of the loose mulch to expose the lost ring, but may have actually blown the ring deeper into one of the bushes. I began my search along the sidewalk and investigated every possible signal using my Garrett pro pointer. I uncovered a variety of items and only 10 minutes into my search I got a great pull tab signal and brushing the leaves aside–there was Amber’s lost ring. I called the young couple over to see what I had found and it was a thrill to see their reactions and the smiles on their faces as Amber bent over and picked up her precious ring! It is always a great pleasure helping reunite a lost ring with it’s rightful owner!

Lost gold pendant in St. Augustine, Fl…..Found!

  • from Sanford (Florida, United States)
Contact:

Bill was taking his little nephew for a ride on a small four wheeler and as he stood up to get off he noticed his heavy gold chain was unlatched and his special « Road Runner » pendant was gone. This pendant was given to him by his late father 30 some years ago as a very special gift. Bill immediately started looking for it and spent hours searching thru the long grass and sandy areas where they had unloaded and ridden the four wheeler. A few days later they used a metal detector and tried and still were not able to find Bill’s lost pendant.
Not wanting to give up, Bill searched the internet and found theringfinders.com web site and gave me a call. I arrived in St. Augustine three hours later and began my search. If the pendant was there I was determined to find it. Bill’s wife Kerri had shown me the large area where the pendant was thought to have been lost, so I set out a few markers, said a short prayer and began swinging my DFX. Bill came an hour and a half later, just as it was getting dark and we talked and searched by the light of his cell phone. Another hour passed and then I got a great signal and there just under the dead grass was Bill’s 14k gold Roadrunner pendant! You talk about one happy young man!! And thanks allot Bill for the reward and I am so glad you gave me a call and that I was able to find your lost pendant.

Lost ring in Kaplan, LA – Found

Ashley called on December 22. Her husband, Rahn,  lost his wedding band, while working in the yard. Carrie and I were in California, spending time with the grandkids, so we set the 28th for the hunt. We arrived back from California and went the next day to FIND THE RING. Rahn had worked in the back yard but security camera footage showed the ring still on his finger as he left to do front yard work. He next went to the front yard to clean grass from three grated yard drains. The grass was tossed to the side and the ring may have left his finger with that motion. Carrie and I each hunted around a separate drain with no luck. I went to the third and final drain. The metal grating had caused problems searching the others but I got a strong signal a foot from this drain, far enough for the metal grating to not interfere. Buried in the grass was the prize. Ashley was beyond excited. It was a pleasure reuniting Rahn with his beautiful ring. Thank you for your generous reward. This allows us to continue providing our services.

Trev was playing a lively game of volleyball with a couple of friends when he lost his ring. As he swung at the ball—barely hitting it—he felt his ring slip off his finger. He immediately stopped and yelled « I lost my ring! » He and his friends spent the next two hours running their fingers through the sand hoping to find his lost Tungsten wedding ring.
Trev had only been married for two months and he was not looking forward to telling his new bride the sad news. As Trev continued to search, one of his friends Wyatt, decided to check on-line for some sort of help. And up popped theringfinders.com web site and they decided to give me a call. Two hours later I joined Trev by the volleyball court and he explained what happened. He was positive the ring came off right where he was standing, so I fired up my Whites DFX metal detector and started grid searching. Trev offered to do the digging so I handed him my digger/sifter and away we went. We found a number of coins and at every signal Trev was hoping he could uncover his lost ring. After 30 minutes and still no ring I decided to check the grassy areas along the sides and back of the court and struck out again. So I asked Trev to explain and to actually demonstrate his exact actions when he felt his ring come off. Even though he was sure his ring came off on his side of the court, I suggested we search the other half of the court also. And sure enough on the third pass I got a great signal and there was Trev’s lost ring in the sand.

Lost ring in lake…Casselberry, Florida…Found!

Tanae was relaxing on the dock with her two boys, enjoying the warm sun and the beautiful lake view, when all of a sudden her youngest son bumped into her. Normally this would not have been a big deal, but Tanae was fiddling with her ring and the innocent bump was enough to cause her to drop her ring. And as most docks are constructed of wooden lumber there are always spaces between the boards and invariably when something falls it will find one of those tiny cracks!
Tanae could not believe what had just happened and a feeling of panic gripped her heart. She tried getting into the water and feeling around but soon realized it was too deep and the bottom was very soft and full of mud and debris.
In her desperate need to get her ring back, Tanae searched the internet for someone to help and that lead her to theringfinders.com web site. She contacted me and we made arrangements to meet at the park. I tried to reassure Tanae that I would do my best to find her lost ring. I loaded up my van with my wetsuit, Tesoro Tiger Shark metal detector, scoop, towels and other gear and headed to the park. Thankfully it was a very warm, sunny day and even though the water was cold I was prepared to get wet. I arrived at the park and checked out the dock and water as I waited for Tanae. Not knowing which end of the small dock to search under I decided to check the depth with my pvc pole and realized that the bottom dropped off very quickly.
So when Tanae arrived and showed me the corner of the dock where she was sitting I was very thankful that it was towards the shallower end. I entered the cold water and swung the detector over the bottom close to the corner post. And there were plenty of signals—probably nails and screws and sinkers and such. (I should have taken my magnet on a rope to clear the area out first!) So I set about the task of scooping out the bottom debris and looking through each load—and on the fourth scoop–there was Tanae’s ring!
What an honor it has been to help this young mother get her sentimental lost ring back!
