Gabi called me to ask if I was available to help her find some lost rings. She and her fiancee had spent an evening enjoying some of the Orlando Florida attractions and as they were walking back to their car they had a disagreement and Gabi’s engagement ring and her fiancee’s ring ended up lost in the thick saint Augustine grass! They spent the rest of the evening and into the dark searching for their rings..and even went back the next day! Gabi decided to check into renting a metal detector and that is when she came across theringfinders.com website and after reading a couple of my stories she gave me a call and we were able to meet up that afternoon. I was hoping Gabi could bring her fiancee as well because it is most always best to get two people’s opinions on the situation instead of just one. After meeting up and driving to the location I began my search along a long stretch of grass just to the side of a busy road and soon realized that there were allot of targets that sounded similar to a lady’s gold ring. I asked Gabi what her ring was made of and she said she thought it was either white gold or silver, she wasn’t real sure. So I decided to investigate every shallow signal reading in the mid to high range and I used my pin pointer allot day! It took a good hour and a half to thoroughly cover the whole area and I could see that Gabi was beginning to lose hope of me ever finding their lost rings and then…BOOM! I got a sweet, shallow, small silver reading and at first glance I could only see some sort of tape or paper and after a closer look I saw a flash of a diamond. I reached down and picked up Gabi’s lost engagement ring and held it up for her to see and I asked, « Is this your ring? » Gabi was overcome with emotion and knelt beside me and gave me a long hug and all I could say was, « Thank you God for helping me find this young lady’s ring!! » Ten minutes later I got another solid, shallow high tone and there was Gabi’s fiancee’s ring down in the thick grass. This time I let Gabi use my pin pointer to do a final location and what a thrill to see the sheer joy and relief and happiness in her face!

Elaine called me to ask for help finding her husbands wedding ring that was lost « somewhere » either in their home or outside of their house! (That sort of information usually indicates that a thorough search could take hours!) So we met Elaine and her husband Bill and asked lots of questions about the day his ring went missing. Bill had done a bunch of work in one of their rooms…like tearing up old carpeting and hauling it outside along with a big mattress and other items. One thing he did remember was when he was showering he recalled scrubbing his hands with a small scrub brush and while drying off he noticed that his ring was not on his finger. This is his wedding ring that he has worn for 46 years and he rarely takes it off. So we took up the drain cover in the shower thinking that just maybe it fell down the drain while scrubbing his hands and showering. But after running my endoscope down as far as possible and not seeing it we determined it must be somewhere else. We looked outside everywhere that Bill remembered going on that day and then we searched inside as much as possible. It is a large home…10,000 square feet to be exact so there was allot of area and after a few hours we called it quits.

I tried to encourage Bill and Elaine that there is always hope of finding it and not to give up hope. Reminding them to be sure to call me if and when they do find it! And….8 days later I get a call from Elaine saying they found it under a pile of old sheets and curtains that came out of the room that they are remodeling! It is always a pleasure to help folks find and locate their lost item whether I am able to find it myself or help them find it on their own.

Carlos and his dear fiancee were taking an evening stroll around their neighborhood and at one point they began tickling each other and in the process lost their stunning diamond engagement ring in the thick St Augustine grass. They knew within feet of where they were standing when she felt her ring come off and began immediately looking to see if they could find it. The grass was so so thick that they began to actually pull the grass up in places to be able to see down to the soil level below. After a few frustrating hours they thought of renting a metal detector but being New Years Day…nothing was open and they continued their Google search. They finally came across Theringfinders.com web site and found one of my stories…that I post after every successful search and recovery! They gave me a call and we met up later that afternoon. It only took a minute or two to actually find their lost engagement ring in the thick grass and the main reason is that they knew almost the exact spot they were standing in when the ring was dropped. That was a tremendous help in making it a quick and successful recovery!

I thank God for allowing me the privilege and opportunity to help Carlos and his beautiful fiancee and to be able to reunite them with their lost ring!

Lost wedding ring in sand, Daytona Beach, Florida….Found!

Vincent and his wife Liz were here in Daytona Beach, Florida celebrating a special anniversary and enjoying a warm summer day at the beach. They decided to rent an umbrella, a beach chair and a small table from Glenn and Robin at Doc’s Beach Rental! Before going into the water Liz took her three rings off and put them in a small side pocket of her backpack and set it down on the sand next to the lawn chair. As they swam and enjoyed the water the tide was slowly coming up and getting close to Liz’s backpack so she decided to set the backpack on its side up on the small table. Of course not realizing that one of her precious rings had fallen out onto the wet sand. They swam awhile longer and then grabbed their towels, sandals and backpack and headed for their room to shower, change and get to the airport to catch their plane for home. After cleaning up and getting dressed Liz went to put her rings on and realized one of her rings was missing. They hurried down onto the beach and desperately searched for her ring and it was nowhere to be found. They asked the kind couple at Doc’s Beach Rentals to keep their eyes open just in case and with deep sadness in their hearts they headed to the airport! Later that day Vincent found theringfinders.com website and gave me a call. Again I always ask allot of questions to help me narrow down as close as possible where the missing ring is hiding. (And I always warn people to NOT post information about their lost item and its location on Facebook or Craigslist…UNTIL I have a chance to figure out all the details and have the opportunity to thoroughly search the area.).

The following day I made plans to search at low tide and I hoped to be able to meet the friendly couple who run Doc’s Beach Rentals and gather what information I could about the exact location and where they normally put out their beach chairs and umbrellas. Upon my arrival at the location I saw there were a few people swinging metal detectors right in the area where Vincent and Liz indicated she had lost her ring! I was stunned and soon learned that Liz had actually posted on Facebook what she had lost and where she lost it!!! I desperately hoped I was not too late and after talking to the rental personnel I decided to conduct my own search. As I walked towards the main target area I could see the drag marks and obvious indications that someone had searched this area already. So I went as close as possible to the first beach chair and umbrella and began my grid search and I had not walked 20 feet and BAM! A sharp, solid, shallow signal indicated a good target and as I slowly pushed the wet sand away I could see a beautiful white gold rim of a ring with little diamonds along the one side and there was Liz’s lost ring! Another miracle of how God allows a lost ring to be found and returned to its rightful owner!

Thank you Vincent and Liz for trusting me to search for, to find and to return to you what you thought was lost forever!

Lost Audi car key/fob, Orlando, Florida….found by metal detector specialist!

  • from Sanford (Florida, United States)
Contact:

A young lady called me to see if I could help her find a lost Audi car fob/key and I could tell by the tone of her voice she was in a desperate way. (To replace certain types of car keys it can be very expensive and one has to also pay additional fees for towing and reprogramming a new key to your specific vehicle.).

I always ask allot of questions to find out how, when, where and who all was involved to help me sort through the possibilities and likelihood of even being able to locate their lost item. The young lady informed me that they were very sure of the location which was covered with manicured bushes, mulched areas and a large paved parking lot. And come to find out the fob/key was not dropped but it was actually thrown…and not by an upset sister but by a strong, angry boyfriend! The first 40 minutes I looked through the bushes and through the mulch and in the gutters and any where within a 20 to 30 yard distance but once I heard that a young man had thrown the fob I figured it could be allot further. So I expanded my search area to include further away hedges, mulched areas and parking spaces. As Chris Turner would say, « You need to think out of the box sometimes! » I was beginning to think that someone else must have picked up the lost Audi fob and as I walked the far side of the parking lot I noticed a small black plastic object laying along side of the cement curb and as I got closer I could see it was exactly what I was looking for! After pacing off the distance from where it was thrown it turned out to be all of 55 yards! So it truly pays to think outside the box!

How I thank God for leading me to where that fob was just sitting there in that parking lot, waiting for me to come along to find it and return it to it’s rightful owner!

I received a call from Will asking for my help in regards to a lost gold cuban link ring in the sand! He said he knew right where he was when he lost it and even took some videos of his friends and family looking through the sand at the exact location where he fell and realized his ring had come off. It was later in the evening so I told Will I would try to do a search the following day at low tide. Normally I like to get to any ocean search as soon as possible because of the tides and the simple fact that a heavy gold ring can sink very quickly in soft sand, thus putting the ring at a deeper depth. Will said they were in the soft sand so the next day I opted to take my Garrett AT Max metal detector, thinking that machine would be able to detect to a reasonable depth to find his ring. But I was mistaken! I searched the whole target area in Zero Mode and then in All Metal Mode and was unable to locate Will’s lost gold ring! It was due to the fact that they had run their hands back and forth through the sand, which actually caused his heavy gold ring to sink deeper in the sand. After two hours I decided to come back another day and try again. Ten days later I received a call to locate a ring in North Daytona Beach and after an unusually quick search and recovery I decided to drive 15 miles up to Ormond Beach to try looking again for Will’s gold cuban link ring, only this time I was going to use my Whites TDI pulse machine. Upon arriving I could tell that the rather steep beach had changed somewhat and I hoped and prayed that Will’s ring had not gone deeper but that some of the top sand would have been taken out and away. So with that prayer and hope in mind I started my search at the surfs edge and began working my way up the slope. I dug a few crusty coins here and there and 30 minutes later I received a solid, repeatable signal that revealed a beautiful cuban link gold ring! I was stunned and so very thankful to God for allowing me to actually find Will’s lost ring! Three days later I met up with Will and was able to hand him his ring, which he was sure he would never see again!

Lost engagement ring in the sand at Flagler Beach, Florida….Found with a metal detector and returned to owner!

John Jr. called me from Flagler Beach on Mothers Day to ask for my help! You see, his wife had wrapped her engagement ring in her shirt and left it on the beach towel as they swam and enjoyed the Florida sun, sand and ocean water. (This was their last day in Florida and they needed to return their rental car and catch a plane to Chicago later on in the day.). So when the time came to pack everything up they grabbed the beach chairs, umbrella, towels, coolers and their items of clothing like T-shirts, sandals and a certain shirt all neatly rolled up! Unfortunately they forgot that John’s wife’s engagement ring was tucked away inside and when they shook the sand out of the shirt, the ring went flying into the soft coquina sand! They frantically searched for some time by dragging their fingers through the sand hoping to catch a glimpse of the platinum ring and someone suggested looking online for some help and that is what led John Jr to give me a call. Here is what John’s father wrote… »I am so grateful for Mike McInroe and for his services today. He traveled more than 80 miles on Mothers Day to locate a precious engagement ring that my son and daughter in law misplaced in the sand at Flagler Beach. He quickly located the ring that we had desperately searched for, for over an hour. Mike is a master at his craft and is a true man of integrity. Thanks again Mike! John Davis »

How I thank God for allowing me the amazing opportunity and privilege to help John and many others like him!

Lost diamond engagement ring in the grass in Ocoee, Florida…Found and happily returned to owner!

How does an engagement ring end up in the thick grass? There are literally dozens of ways that rings can get lost in someones yard and on this occasion Annie and her husband had just pulled up into their drive way and were getting out of their car when Annie’s hands were feeling a bit swollen due to the summer humidity. She wanted to remove her rings before going inside and she tried pulling her rings off and all of a sudden they both just popped off and went flying into the grass. Here is a short text from her husband of that shocking experience. « My wife dropped her wedding band and engagement ring in our yard. We found the wedding band but not the engagement ring. We bought a metal detector and spent a whole day searching with no luck. We were stressed and anxious. I texted Mike and he made time to come see us the very next day. He was very professional and kind. I showed him the area and he found it in less than 5 minutes! Don’t waste your time and money on a metal detector when you can ask Mike! I would definitely recommend him to my family and friends! Thank you Mike! »

Actually feeling your rings come off and knowing the exact area where they landed is a huge help in trying to find and recover your lost rings. It was an honor to help Huy and his dear wife and I thank God for giving me the privilege to help them and anyone else who asks for my help! I do not find every ring that I am asked to look for but I always try my very best and assure people to never give up hope!

How can I help you or someone you know?

Lost family heirloom diamond ring in Atlantic Ocean, Ormond Beach, Florida….found with metal detector!

  • from Sanford (Florida, United States)

Jade and her family’s Labor Day get away to the beach started out great! They arrived at the beach early and got their things all set out and could not wait to get into the warm ocean surf. Everyone was enjoying the water even though the waves were a bit rough…still it was the perfect day to enjoy the water, sand and sun! As they made their way deeper into the water Jade’s husband noticed that Jade was wearing the precious diamond heirloom ring that his grand mother had passed down to his own mother and then she had passed it on to Jade when they got married! With the hope of one day passing it on to their son, Everetts, when he gets married. Jade was sure the ring fit snug enough to not have to worry about loosing it and as she pulled on the ring to show that it was tight…off it came and dropped straight into the churning wave tossed waters!

Shocked beyond belief she let out a scream and immediately everyone came to help her locate the ring! Even when knowing exactly where it fell into the water it turned out to be so much more difficult to locate then they had ever imagined! Hours passed and they drove to a nearby store to purchase a metal detector and tried it but ended up shorting out the headphones as it was not a water proof metal detector!

Meanwhile, Jade’s son Everett found « theringfinders.com website » on his phone and decided to call me for help. As I listened to what had happened and the fact that they were very sure of the exact location where the ring had dropped, I offered to come out right away and do whatever I could to help them. Even though the surf was rough and the waves were fairly big I felt that her ring would be where it fell even through to the next low tide cycle. I asked Jade what the sand felt like under her feet while they were looking for her lost ring…soft or hard packed? She said soft in some places and hard in other places. And with that info I knew I had to search ASAP and I could not afford to wait till the next days low tide. It was around 5:30 pm Monday evening and low tide was coming up at around 11:30pm and I determined to search under an overcast moon and trust that by God’s grace I would be able to find Jade’s lost ring before it sunk too deep!

Under normal daylight hours I am able to use small wire survey flags to mark the sand and then by lining the two rows of flags up I am able to back my way into the surf and use the flags to help me go out and come back in a straight line. Once I get out as far as I can safely go I then take two steps over and walk out keeping myself lined up just about four feet off of where I went into the water. But in the middle of the night on a dark beach there is no way to visually see my flags! So as I was passing the time waiting for the next low tide I walked across the Ocean Shore Blvd. to the Dollar Store and began walking the isles to see what I could use to mark my path and progress. Thankfully they had some Halloween decorations out and I came across some 8 inch long glow sticks! I was able to use the two glow sticks to keep me lined up and began my night time search about 10:00 pm and little by little I backed my way out into the dark waters as far as I could safely go and the two glow sticks worked like a charm!

Earlier in the day as I was waiting for it to get dark I detected on the dry sand just to see if anyone had dropped anything and I used up a couple of hours of battery life!!! Not smart!! Reason being as I only have one battery and it lasts maybe 5 hours total! I water hunt using the Whites TDI Beachhunter and hip mount the box and it works great! Normally that is about all I can handle when working in and out of the surf in the hot sun and fighting against the current and waves!

After an hour and a half of covering the main target area I noticed my low battery light had come on and my detector started making the usual odd sound. I felt I was really close to the actual spot where she said the ring was dropped and now my battery was dying! I prayed and asked my heavenly Father to help my detector last just long enough to be able to find Jade’s lost heirloom ring! God then gave me the idea to go sideways out as far as I could where it was just over my waist and the sandy bottom had areas where it dropped away a foot or so. Fifteen minutes later I got a funny signal that sounded much like sunglasses sound only distorted like. I dug three scoops trying to retrieve the curious item. Actually it was the only signal I had gotten all the while and as I shook out the sand my head lamp lit up the scoop and there to my utter amazement was Jade’s precious lost ring! Words cannot express my joy and the emotion I felt and I let out a loud prayer of thanksgiving to my Father God!

I could not wait to get to the car and dry off and send Jade the good news! We talked and I assured them that we could meet anytime in the next day or two to pick up their precious ring! Early the next morning Jade arrived at our home and I was able to personally hand her the ring she thought was lost forever in the churning waters of the Atlantic Ocean! Google gave them a very, very slim chance of ever seeing their ring again but thankfully God came through and used little ol me to help them out of a desperate situation! And I am so thankful they gave me a call and trusted me to do what I could in their time of need!

Have you lost something and need help trying to find it? Call or text me ASAP…I am only a call away!

Lost ring in Lake Conway, Orlando, Fl….Found!

  • from Sanford (Florida, United States)
Contact:

Rocco was enjoying the afternoon boating and swimming on Lake Conway with friends when he realized his special designed gold and diamond ring was no longer on his finger. Very few rings match the unique design with so many stunning diamonds and the sheer weight of the ring is very impressive! And it was a couple of factors that caused the ring to disappear into the sandy lake bottom. The first thing was the coolness of the water! As most people know there is shrinking in our hands and fingers when we expose them to cool or cold water. The second thing is activity of some kind! Rocco and his friends were horse playing around and that sort of thing has caused many a ring to end up lost and never to be found again. The third thing was the sheer weight of the ring! A mere flip of his hand in cool, wet water would have been enough to send his ring flying. So when Rocco realized his ring had come off he knew right away who he needed to call. Theringfinders.com! You see…this is not the first time Rocco had lost his ring! In 2020 Rocco was shocked when he felt his ring go flying into the darkness when he threw open the lid on the dumpster behind his apartment. Thankfully he go in touch with me and I was able to find his stunning ring hiding under a large bush. But this time it was in the water…in the middle of a lake! I encouraged Rocco to drop a full can of soda or beer or an anchor, or water bottle…anything that could mark the exact spot. Also if there was a way to tie a floatation device of some kind that would help make it easier to locate. Unfortunately they left a buoy tied to an anchor and someone later that evening came along and pulled it up. As the sun was rising the next morning I was paddling out onto the lake straining my eyes to find that buoy and it was nowhere in sight! Fortunately the water over the sand bar was crystal clear and I could easily see the bottom. So I decided to paddle all across the sandbar, gridding my way looking for anything that would indicate where the anchor was left. After an hour of going back and forth I did find a few items on the bottom. A red cup, a face mask and pieces of paper here and there….and then I spotted a water bottle laying on the bottom. It looked like an older bottle and at first I did not think it had anything to do with the ring…but it was the only water bottle I saw during my search. I finally decided to mark the bottle with one of my pvc poles and later came back to it and put out 4 pvc poles in a square around the bottle. I jumped into the water and started grid searching back and forth between the poles. My first pass netted me a bottle cap and a pull tab and as I turned to make a second pass I got a clear signal and BOOM! There was Rocco’s beautiful ring…sparkling and shining in the morning sun and I thanked God for allowing me to find his lost ring so soon! You talk about being amazed and thankful…I was one very happy Ring Finder!
