Deceased father’s ring lost at Grand Haven

  • from Grand Haven (Michigan, United States)

I received a text from Hailey who said her friend Gavin had lost his deceased father’s wedding ring at Grand Haven State Park.  After returning home to Muskegon, Gavin called me and stated he’d lost the ring IN the lake.  The detector I had with me wasn’t waterproof so i would have to run home to grab my Garrett AT Pro and meet up with him about 2 hours later.  When I arrived at the beach Gavin and his mother were there, as well as Greg, the Ring Finder from the Grand Rapids area, and 2 firefighters with metal detectors already searching.  After a brief 15 minute search I got a signal so loud that it startled me and I had his family heirloom in my scoop.  His mother was so overjoyed she started to cry.

Ring Recovered in Douglas, Michigan

  • from Holland (Michigan, United States)

I received a text from Dan, saying he had lost his wedding band. He and his wife, Emily, were visiting from their home in Missouri, vacationing at a private home on the shore of Lake Michigan. Spending the beautiful day on the sand beach with lots of family and friends, Dan noticed his ring was missing shortly after they had played some catch. He pointed out two areas where he suggested I start: right next to the water, and an area right in front of the whole group of family and friends who were sitting on the beach, watching, not wanting to get in the way of the search. Checking the area next to the water produced only a rusty can lid, but on the third sweep of the area in front of the group I got a good solid hit. Bingo! There it was in my first scoop. Whoops and hollers and high fives from the group watching, and Dan and Emily’s 11 year marriage was back on track. Saving good memories of the 2022 vacation in Michigan!!

Family Heirloom Ring Lost in Stone Harbor NJ Found by Ring Finders South Jersey John Favano

Lost a ring?

Don’t wait to call!

215-850-0188

I received a call from Teri about her father’s World War II ring that was lost in Stone Harbor, NJ on Saturday. Her father, who was very fond of the sea, was a Merchant Marine in World War II and his ring is very sentimental to the family. Her son, Patch, has been wearing the ring for the past few years. To keep the ring safe while on the beach, he placed it in the cup holder of a beach chair. Unknowingly, his cousin put on the backpack chair and went to the water to clean off some sand before leaving. Patch realized the ring had fallen out, and he and his family searched the area. They resigned to the thought that it was probably lost forever since it may have been dropped in the ocean.
I met up with Teri and did an extensive search of the area where it might have fallen out. I had to return a second time to be able to go out farther in the water. It was in waist-deep water that I finally got the signal. It was a great feeling when the ring showed up in the scoop and was able to be returned to the family.

How to find a lost ring with a metal detector…

Yesterday late afternoon I received a call for help from a young man who had lost his wedding band at Spanish Banks Beach in Vancouver. He sounded very upset and really really wanted me to get out there as soon as possible to help find it. I understand what these items mean to people so I jumped in my car rescheduled another search and headed to Spanish Banks.

After asking all my typical questions it sounded like it could be a relatively quick search, I’ve been fooled many times by thinking that. When I arrived I met Chris who showed me a very small area where he believe the ring had fallen, a gathering up my gear and within a minute found his beautiful ring.

It’s amazing how fast the sand can eat up a persons ring and make it near impossible to find a good medley text her and someone who knows how to use it.

This definitely made up for the last three outings where I spent over 14 hours looking for a platinum ring at Kits Beach with no luck. Unfortunately it was lost in the soft sand, but I gave it a good effort.

I was so relieved for this young man to see the ring in my scoop so quickly, sometimes it happens like that and I will take it when I get it. It was great to meet Chris and his wonderful family and to see that smile back where it belongs.

Man’s Yellow Gold Wedding Band Lost in the Sand, Found and Returned Ocean Isle, NC

  • from North Myrtle Beach (South Carolina, United States)

This ring search started with a phone call from Brock saying he lost his wedding band in the sand on Ocean Isle Beach. He wanted to know if I could help find it. I told him I could be there in 30 minutes. Since it was Sunday, I knew the beach would be crowded with no place to park. I asked him if I could park in his driveway, and he responded yes. I then asked him to text me the address and I was on my way.

When I got to his house, I called him, and he came out to meet me. We walked down to the beach, and he showed me the area where he lost his ring. He had been playing Spikeball and when he reached for the ball, he felt his ring fly off his finger. This is one of those searches you dream about. I turned my Deus II on, literally took 2 steps and got a loud and clear 70 on the VDI (visual display indicator). I took a small scoop of sand, had the target in the scoop and shook the excess sand out and saw his gold ring. I held out the scoop for Brock to retrieve his ring. It took him a couple of seconds to see it amongst some shells but when he did see it, his face lit up.

Brock and Payton – Thank you for trusting me and The Ring Finders to help find your lost treasure. Enjoy the rest of your vacation.

Melissa contacted me the other day about searching for her lost rings. She told me they were lost the previous day, and also the beach where they were lost at. When she mentioned the beach, and the location they had been sitting my heart sunk because this is one of the cleanest beaches in Southern California. The County uses very effective sifting machines on this beach, and is able to get almost all metal off the beach daily. She was not able to meet me there, but sent a photo of where she had been which helped a lot to show me where to search, so I left to try.

When I got there I could see that the machines had gone through that morning, and it didn’t look promising. I set up my grid area, and began. As expected, I was getting no signals, but I persisted in my search. There was a small patch about 2 feet wide between where the machine cleaned, and the wet sand that was untouched, so I made sure to be a bit more careful there. Then on one pass I got my first signal in the untouched area. I dug, and had Melissa’s wedding band; I was excited. I couple more swings, and I had the engagement ring. I couldn’t believe it, they were still there, the machine had missed them by 12 inches. Now to get them back to her. I sent her a text with a picture of the rings which made her very happy. She told me where she lived which happened to be on my way home, so I asked if I could drop them off, to which she excitedly said yes. I met her husband Patrick, her husband of just 2 months. This really made my day!

Melissa sent the following testimonial:

Hello!
He found my Wedding Ring AND band on the Beach! Steve was absolutely amazing!! My husband came across his page on « The Knot » and I am so happy I did! I went to the beach late at night and in the morning my ring off my hand was gone. I was devastated especially because we just got married a month ago.. I texted Steve and he got back to me within minutes. I described where I was on the beach and within 30 minutes he took a selfie on the beach of where I was and he got to work. He kept me updated and I am so happy he did. Then he found my rings! It was an absolute miracle and I am forever debted to this man. The amazing part is he even came to my home and dropped it off in Torrance which he did not need to do. He is an Angel and I am so happy I got to thank him in person. I hope this does not happen to you but if it does, Steve is the man to call!
Thank you again! You are the best!!

Credit Card Wallet recovered at Bayshore Waterfront Park by Dennis Burlingame

Got a text from Brooke asking for help in locating her lost credit card pouch. She contacted another RingFinder who sent her my way. While at Bayshore Waterfront Park and Beach enjoying a fireworks display across the bay from New York she lost her credit card pouch. She went back looking for it but couldn’t find it. Luckily she had a keyring and key attached to it. She showed me a 30 foot stretch of area she was sitting and and I started detecting. Halfway through the second pass I found it just below the surface. A happy ending to what would of been a disaster having to replace all her cards and license. Saved her holiday weekend.

Lost Gold Bracelet at Shaws Cove, Laguna Beach, CA., .. Found in the Darkness of the Night

Timing is important call ASAP .. Stan the Metal Detector Man .. 949-500-2136  ..I Will Answer the Call.

*** Lily was at Shaws Cove in Laguna Beach, CA. She was wearing a gold bracelet and when she got home it wasn’t on her wrist. She was devastated because it was lost and it actually belonged to her boyfriend.

They had returned to the beach searching for a couple hours with no luck. Then she did a google search for metal detector service, where my contact information came up.

She called me  at 8:30pm while I was driving home from Santa Monica Beach. She verbal told me what happened and that the bracelet was most likely where they had been sitting. Then she added that it could have fallen in the sand as they walked off the beach ( 125 yards +-). Lastly she thought there could be a chance it was was in the first trash can at the steps.

It was pitch dark when I arrived at that beach. Even though I thought I knew that beach well, I had trouble identifying the place they sent  using photos Lily texted me. Tomorrow at daylight may be too late as a lifeguard told me there is a guy that detects that small beach almost everyday.

Finally I found the area they had been sitting and a few swings with my detector revealed the gold chain next to a 3ft.deep hole. I’m sure if someone would have filled that hole in the bracelet would have been push too deep in the sand to be detected with my equipment. I was relieved because I didn’t have to grid the walk off the beach or check the large trash can. I do long grids where the item may have dropped walking off the beach and I have searched many trash cans for lost rings, keys and cellphones.

Texted a photo of the bracelet to Lily and made arrangements to meet her a couple days later to return it . She was more than happy. A very nice lady and a pleasure to help her find what was so special to her and her boyfriend.

If you lost something of value, I may be able to help you… Call ASAP Anytime.. Stan the Metal Detector Man .. 949-500-2136   .. I WILL TRY ANYWHERE

EZ Cruz Marina

John was enjoying an afternoon of boating with his father and rest of the family on Father’s Day. They stopped at EZ Cruz Marina to fuel up, and John jumped into the water. His beautiful ring decorated with diamonds and Claddagh symbols slipped off his finger. John called and we arranged to meet at the marina.

Mrs. Ellis (my safety diver) and I arrived around 10am, we introduced ourselves to the EZ Cruz staff, and started to prepare. We evaluated the conditions. Water visibility was poor, and the water was about seven feet deep. When John arrived, he showed us exactly where and how he jumped in.

I decided to use my circular search pattern device I made just for these types of situations. Entering the water around noon, I worked through various trash targets including weights, glasses, and fishing rods. After about an hour I was able to find John’s beautiful ring!

Lost ring in Coronado Found

  • from La Jolla (California, United States)

Brandon was enjoying the beach with his young son. He dutifully applied sunscreen after taking his wedding ring off and placing it in his lap. His son started heading for the water, so, Brandon got up to chase after him. Off went the ring somewhere in the fluffy dry sand where it disappeared. An online search brought Brandon to TheRingFinders.com where he found me. After getting the particulars, I agreed to fight the traffic and parking on a holiday weekend to meet up with him at the site. As expected, traffic and parking were troublesome. Add a HUGE, miles long, bicycle cruise in town, and I had a real fun time getting there, and especially leaving! I think at the time I got the last paid parking spot at the Hotel Del Coronado. After that, it was pretty much a breeze. I met Brandon out on the beach, he showed me the search area, and a few minutes later, the ring was in the scoop. A pleasure to meet you Brandon, and thank you for the reward.
