Gold ring lost while cleaning snow from a car recovered in Bethel, Maine

  • from Rockport (Maine, United States)

  • I received a call from Joseph on New Year’s Eve after he had lost his diamond encrusted gold ring clearing snow from his fiancées car. The ring had been a Christmas gift and after efforts to search with a security wand type detector were unsuccessful, I was called to conduct a search of driveway. After about 15 minutes I was able to locate and return the ring to Joseph who was elated to get it back. A portion of the reward will be donated to the Gary Owen House for Veterans in Searsmont, ME.

Ring lost during proposal in Cape May, NJ FOUND!

  • from Cape May (New Jersey, United States)

Received a call from Jordan on December 21st, 2019. Jordan was in the process of proposing to his girlfriend on Sunset Beach in Cape May when the engagement ring evidently fell out of the box unbeknownst to him. After gathering a few details from Jordan, we setup a time to meet and I headed over to Sunset Beach. I arrived before Jordan and his father so I decided to take a walk down to see if I could figure out where they may have been. Sure enough the tell tale signs were there so I began searching where I believed they may have been. After a brief 10 minute search I had the ring in my scoop! I went back to the parking lot and awaited Jordans arrival. He and his father were in total shock and disbelief that I had already recovered the ring before they arrived. After reuniting Jordan with the ring his father explained how much of a roller coaster of emotions the day had been. All recoveries are emotional for the clients, for many different reasons, and no two are ever the same, but sometimes there are the ones that really make providing this service warm your heart. This is one of them. I attached the reuniting video but it is a bit dark.

Here are some comments and reviews of service from Jordan and his family:

Jordan Page « Hey Jeff! This is me and my fiance with our recovered ring she loves it and we are so thankful to you. You changed what was one of the worst tragedies into one of those great moments you rember for a lifetime. You reaffirmed my faith in humanity and decency. You are truely a hero! To come out at 10pm on a sat night in winter is unbelievable enough let alone. Your integrity in finding the ring before we got there and holding it shows how much of an amazing honest person you are and that is rare these days. We and I personally can not thank you enough the joy even as I write this is overflowing. Everyone in town has been asking us about it and I’m singing your praises as the savior of our engagement. I got a call from sunset beach gift shop checking in about if we found the ring and I told them how awesome you were. He told me to send him a picture of your card so he can give your info to anyone that needs your services. Thank you so so much. »

Keith Page « First, Jeff, Thank You for finding Jordan’s ring…you are amazing!
You came out on a cold Saturday night and before we even got there, you had the ring, again, thank you…I cannot say it enough!
As a father, knowing what Jordan went through to get to this point and then seeing the video of him on his knee proposing and then his reaction realizing that the ring had fallen out and disappeared into the sand, it brought tears to my eyes for him.
You, the helpful people on the beach, the staff at the Sunset Beach Gift shop, my son’s fiance and her two beautiful children, my wife, all turned an emotional roller coaster of a night into one of the most positive and memorable evenings of our lives.
Thank you again, you really are a good person, you have had a positive impact on everyone’s life that you have helped by helping them find something they lost, please keep doing what you do, it does not go unnoticed.
Our very best to you,
Keith & Karen Page, Jordan and his beautiful family. By the way, Maria said yes! »

Karen Page « There really should be more people like you, Jeff! You don’t just provide a much needed service, you restore people’s faith in others along with restoring their precious items. A truly remarkable thing, and very much appreciated! You Rock! »

Lost Wedding Ring in Lafayette, LA. – Found

  • from Lafayette (Louisiana, United States)
Contact:

Pat called me on Tuesday evening to ask for help in finding Ann’s lost wedding ring. The one he gave her 40 years ago. Ann had been playing volleyball with the grandkids in the front yard of their home. After that and some basketball, she noticed her wedding ring was not on her finger. I said we would be there to hunt at 8:00 AM the next day. Carrie and I loaded up early and arrived at the hunt site on time. Ann showed us where she was during the volleyball game. Sid found it 10 minutes after the hunt began. Needless to say, Ann was very happy to see her ring again. It was a pleasure to help out such a charming lady. Thank you for your generous reward and the delicious blueberry muffins.

… First day of 2020, Naomi and her family were at Venice Beach playing on a 25 foot high sand berm when she realized that her car key fob was lost. After searching for a couple hours without success. She went on line to see about renting or buying a metal detector. She did find TheRingFinders directory that helped her call for help.

When I talked to Naomi she was confident that the key was in a small area. I told her I would be there within an hour and we had a good chance to find the key fob. Especially if they could be there to meet me. I didn’t ask any more questions as it is more important to get on the road. ( one minute is one mile )

When I met Naomi and her husband, we walked to the massive sand hill that they push up in the winter time to protect the beach. Kids like
to take cardboard and plastic to slide down the steep sand. They believed the lost key fob was on the hill or at the bottom where they had set while watching their kids.

I grid searched the top of the hill and went to the bottom dreading the search of the steep incline. On my first pass of the bottom of the hill, “Boom” a  TDI reading of 23 on my Minelab Equinox metal detector. One scoop then inside was the key fob. Naomi’s husband couldn’t believe that the fob was in a spot he had searched.

A very nice couple that I enjoyed meeting and so happy that we had a successful search. Happy Start to a 2020 New Year.

Ryan contacted me the day after his wife had lost her late grandfather’s wedding ring at the beach. He told me what had happened, and that it had happened the night before when they were on their way to watch the Christmas light boat parade in Newport Beach Harbor. We arranged a time to meet, and I prepared my equipment for the search.

When I arrived Ryan was waiting, in fact he had been doing some more searching for the elusive ring. He explained what had happened. He and his wife had gone to see a house they had rented on the beach a while back, and then make their way over to the harbor to watch the boat parade. As they were walking through the beach sand his wife was fiddling with her ring, when all of a sudden it dropped into the sand. She stopped immediately, not wanting to lose the spot of the loss, so they could search exactly where it fell. They both pulled out their lights and began to comb through the sand with no luck. It then seemed hopeless, and they went on. This ring was her grandfather’s, her mother’s father, a man she had never met because he had passed before she was born, but had heard so much about him from her mother. Her mother gave her his wedding band so she could always have a memory of his part in her life. Obviously she was heartbroken.

Ryan could not be comforted, so into the early morning he searched on the web to find a way to recover the ring when he came upon the Ring Finders and found my contact information. Ryan remembered the exact spot of the loss, and had it narrowed down pretty tight. It took about 3 passes to locate the ring, and it was right under his finger search marks. It is sometimes very difficult to find a small item in sand because it almost acts as a fluid when you move it, and it continues to move the object around as the search is conducted. Anyway I pulled the ring out of the sand and was able to hand it back to a very joyful Ryan.

Ryan sent the following testimonial:

Steve is like a superhero! I’m so happy I didn’t give up and took to the web to find some help. Steve responded to my message first thing in the morning and was quick to make himself available that afternoon. He kept me updated on his status and was positive in all communications – a real comfort when you’re panicked. He arrived with a smile and was ready to roll.

That ring has been on a journey through the family for over 75 years and I’m glad it didn’t end that night on the beach.

Thank you, Steve, for being so generous with your time and being available so quickly. It’s a breath of fresh air to meet someone who uses their talents to help others for the right reason. You rock!

Thank again.

Lost Diamond Engagement Ring in Laguna Beach Business District … Found Inside Car

If you lose a metallic valuable in a pubic location call .. a Ringfinder..  ASAP .. 949-500-2136

…  Ella contacted me after losing her diamond engagement ring in a public area in a Laguna Beach business district. When she called I was on the beach two miles away.

It didn’t take long to meet Ella and Nicolas at the location where they had been parked next to a city landscaped planter. Nicolas told me that they believed his wife’s diamond ring fell out of her purse when she dropped the purse after getting out of the car. They had also checked the inside of the car and moved the car to see if it had fallen under the car.

The planter was about a 10 ft x 10 ft area with well spaced plants and wood chip ground cover. After scanning the planter in several directions and following up crawling on my hands and knees using my pinpointer the ring didn’t show.

I asked Ella to re-check her purse and we double checked the inside of the car. Boom! ring found on a small ledge under the steering column. We had established that the ring was not in the planter using the metal detectors. Process of elimination caused a reason to re-check the only other places left that had many hiding places. The inside of cars have many nooks and crannies that can hide a ring. Too bad a metal detector can’t work inside of cars.

Results, two very happy people that had spent more than two hours searching for their very sentimental ring. It was a pleasure to help Nicolas and Ella.

Lost Titanium Wedding Band at Kaimana Beach…FOUND!!!

  • from O‘ahu (Hawaii, United States)

This ring find began when I got a message on my Metal Detecting Oahu Facebook page. Stephen from San Diego lost his Titanium Wedding Band at Kaimana Beach on Monday November 18th. He wasn’t sure if it was in the water or sand he only noticed it missing after playing with his children on the beach. Thankfully the tide and surf was up that evening so other detectorists would stay away. I was going to wait for a low tide so I could get into the water at least chest deep to cover all the area Stephen could have been. He knew he didn’t go past the lifeguard shack so I started my hunt off the Natatorium Wall and worked toward the shack. I found a few coins which was an indication the ring was probably still here. After about 30 minutes and 2/3s of the way to the shack I got a strong hit on the Nox and in one scoop there was Stephen’s wedding ring. I texted a pic of the ring to Stephen and he responded immediately, « Wow! Just landing in San Diego!!! What a Blessing!!! I arranged to pass the ring to his friend Karl on Oahu and he got the ring back to Stephen a few weeks later. Respecting Stephen’s wishes I only posted a picture of the ring back on his hand with the Hawaiian Shaka! Aloha to Stephen!
