Mans Platinum wedding ring lost in North Spokane WA, Found!!!!

This morning I woke up with a lost ring call from a man named Sebastian. His story was short and sweet. Sebastian was walking with his wife along a path behind his apartment. With the snow falling he couldn’t resist a small snowball toss at his wife. Promptly the wedding ring he wore, also couldn’t resist flying off his cold finger. The couple looked and dug through the snow with no success. So after gathering my equipment I made my way over to Sebastian’s apartment. We spoke briefly about the lost ring and then I began swinging my way down the freshly plowed walkway. My thoughts were the ring had been pitched to the side of the path. However after two minutes of walking, Sebastian said « swing over the concrete path ». There was snow and ice covering the path enough to conceal the ring. My coil was about a foot from the boots of Sebastian when I got a signal. My pin pointer confirmed that it was close to the surface and my fingernail revealed the shiny rim of his platinum wedding ring. I think this search broke the record for my fastest recovery. A very good start to the New Year I’d say, the snow is always good at loosening rings.

FIRST FIND OF THE YEAR RETURNED

It was an unusual Winter day in Lake Country BC, when Naomi was out in the  backyard with her dog. On returning indoors she noticed her 14k White Gold Diamond Wedding ring was missing. She looked me up on The Ringfinders website and asked if I could help her. The day she called at 6:45 am, it was -10 degrees Celsius and she had over 2 feet of snow in her yard, I responded by noon the same day, it was still snowing heavily. She was not sure of the location in the yard, but had an idea, her husband Jason was out with a flashlight hoping to locate it, without any luck. After the hour drive to their home they showed me their yard, I was surprised at the depth of the snow but suspected that the ring would not have fallen all the way through the snow. I spent an hour gridding the yard which was difficult going, I told them that if I did not locate it I would return the next week when the snow would have melted to a lesser depth, in the worst case I would return when the snow was gone and not to worry, it would be found. After recovering my breath and warming my hands I gave the worn down pathway one last sweep when I got a good signal, success the ring was found.

As I was searching for the lost earring for the photo shoot (from the previous blog post), Justin a member of the lighting crew came up to me and asked if could find his ring. Apparently while moving the equipment around his ring fell off his finger, but he wasn’t sure where. I let him know that as soon as I completed my search for the earring, I would do a search for his ring.

After I found the earring, I went to Justin to let him know that I was ready for the search. He saw that I had just spent about 2 1/2 hours looking for the earring, and said that it was ok, I did not have to do the search for his ring. I said no, I am here, I just need to know where to look. He then took me out to show where he had been working, and I could see a lot of disturbed sand that I should search. I looked in the area he thought was most likely with no luck. I then went lower on the beach towards the water where it looked the models had been working. I searched one spot, nothing. I then worked in the other spot, where I received a very strong silver tone in the head phones, dug, and had Justin’s ring. I walked over to him with my head down, and said, « you really didn’t think I should search anyway », which he acknowledged as I held up his ring. He could not believe it, gave me a hug, and showed everyone of the crew that were there. It wasn’t until I was later speaking with Jacklynn, that I found out Justin’s girlfriend had given him that ring just 48 hours before; couldn’t leave that one behind! What a great day!

Designer Earring Lost in Sand During Photo Shoot at Dockweiller Beach, CA…Found and Returned.

I received a call from Anthony, a member of a film crew involved in a photo shoot for Goop, an Internet lifestyle company. He told me that during the shoot, one of the models had completed a session, and realized that one of the designer earrings she was wearing was missing. Anthony then put me in touch with Jacklynn, and we arranged to meet as soon as I could get there.

When I got to the beach, Jacklynn was waiting for me, and took me out to where they believed the earring to be missing. There was still a lot of equipment on the beach, so I began working around it all. She showed me where the model had been in the different areas of the beach, and I did a thorough search not finding the ring. We then started moving the photo equipment around allowing me access to some of the sand I could not reach before. I then asked to see the other earring, and placed it on the sand. When I passed my coil over it I realized it was not a booming signal as thought it would be. Then the crew broke for lunch, and took all of the equipment back to the parking area which allowed me to do a tight grid over the whole area. All the time I was picking up bottle caps, pull tabs, foil, screws, and nails. It wasn’t until I got to the top of one area of the slope, that I received a real quiet whisper of a signal in the head phones and dug. In my scoop was the earring I was looking for. I brought it back to cheers from all involved, which made it a lot of fun. Chandler, one of the models joined me in the picture above. Leaving happiness behind is my goal!

Lost Gold & Silver Wedding Band Kuhio Beach Waikiki…FOUND!!!

This ring find began when I got a text from Janet who was on her Honeymoon with her husband Brian from Toronto Canada. While enjoying a swim at Kuhio Beach Brian’s Gold & Silver wedding band fell off in waist deep water. A quick look around in the water and of course the sand swallowed the ring from view. Brian took careful notice to where he was in the water and his new bride Janet found the ring finders on a Google search. It was near the end of my work day so I called Janet and we were able to arrange for them to meet me on the beach in about 45 minutes. Thankfully the weather was cold and overcast so other detectorists were no where in sight of this heavily detected Beach. When I arrived Brian & Janet took me down to the beach to set the grid. Brian actually modified the grid 5 yards to the East and it was a good thing he did as on the third leg of the search in thigh deep water I got a nice 11-12 on the Nox and in one scoop there was Brian’s Wedding Band. The Newlyweds erupted into cheer and clapping and the tourists around us joined in. I love these moments. After a few handshakes and hugs Brian & Janet were off to enjoy the rest of their Honeymoon. Ruby and Diamond Wedding Ring Lost in Yard in Pasadena, CA…Found and Happily Returned.

As I was leaving the cache search yesterday, I received a call from Patti’s husband asking if I could help find his wife’s ring that she had had for more than 30 years. She had been doing yardwork, and when she was done, she was in the house washing her hands and noticed her ring was gone. They went back out looking for the ring brushing the leaves around looking, but were not able to find it. I told him that I was only about 15 minutes away, and had all my equipment ready to search, so he sent me the address, and I was on my way over.

When I got to the house Patti met me, and explained what she believed might have happened. She then showed me the yard which was completely covered in small golden brown leaves making it very difficult to spot a yellow gold ring even if were sitting right on the surface. There was a pile of leaves that were destined for the trash that I checked first not finding the ring. I then went with Patti to the yard, and began a search, got one signal that turned out to be too deep. I continued, and received a strong double beep signal, looked down, and could see a faint outline of gold peeking through the leaves. I reached down and showed Patti. She and her husband were so very happy, she wanted to give me a hug, which of course I never refuse.:-) That really topped the day, 40 silver 1 oz. coins, and a beautiful ruby and diamond ring, and some really happy people. Awesome!

Silver Coin Cache Buried and Lost in Glendale, CA Backyard…Found and Returned

Don contacted me last week to see if I would help him find some coins, and some other items his daughter had buried in a backyard a couple of years ago. She remembered burying 3 tubes of 1 oz. silver coins, and had a good idea where they might be, we worked out a time to meet according to our schedules.

I arrived at the property, and met Don and his daughter Katie, and they showed me where to look. I began looking for the other items first, but was unable to find them even thought the ground had been dug out pretty deep, so Katie showed me the area she believed the silver coins had been buried. I searched the area, and then received a great signal, dug, and out popped a plastic tube wrapped in plastic. It was heavy, so I knew I had found one of the coin caches. It turned out to be a tube of 20 1 oz. silver coins. I gave it to Don and Katie, and they were very excited that I was able to find it. I continued searching that area, but was unable to find the other two tubes of coins, and it was getting late, so we called it a day. I told them I would like to come back to complete the search.

I was able to get over to the property yesterday and do some more searching. Don had remembered another area he thought the coins might have been buried which was not near the previous area, so I began a search there. There was an old galvanized pipe that was on top of the ground which was hindering my search of the spot, but I was getting an alternative signal right near the pipe, so I dug there. It wasn’t too deep, and I plucked out 2 tubes of 20 1 oz. silver coins which I was able to give to Don and Katie; again two very excited people.

After two successful searches, 60 1 oz. silver coins in total, I let Don know that I would return for the search of the other items again because I really believe they are there to be found. So this is an unfinished blog I hope, and will later be able to post some more great news.

Lost Gold & Diamonds Wedding Band at Aulani Ko Olina Resort Lagoon…FOUND!!!

This ring find began when I got a call from Tanya who was on vacation with her family from Fresno, California. While her husband John was playing catch with a football in the lagoon at some point his Gold & Diamonds Wedding Band came off. He wasn’t positive it was in the lagoon as he only recognized it missing when they got back to their lounge chairs…but that would be the most logical place. The tide was high and it was late evening so we decided to meet at the lagoon the next morning at low tide. John & Tanya met me and John showed me the area he was sure he was in when they were playing with the football. I told John to go have a breakfast and be sure his phone was on in case i got good news. On the second leg of the grid BOOM on the Equinox. After two scoops there was a gold & diamonds ring in the scoop. But wait, that’s not his ring it doesn’t have the distinctive curve that was in the picture he sent me the night before. On with the grid search. Then when I was exactly in the middle of the grid box and at about the deepest walking depth I got another BOOM on the Nox. One scoop this time and there was John’s amazing ring in my scoop. I called them with the good news and we met on the beach again for the return. Hugs and grateful thanks from the entire Family. Souvenir Ring Found in Cumberland, RI

In September 2019, Jim called me for my help in finding a ring on the grounds of the Cumberland Monastery.  The spinner ring held special meaning for Jim as it was a souvenir of a trip to Israel.  It was lost while playing football with family.  I located the ring in two minutes, barely time for him to drive off the grounds!  Jim was thrilled to have this special ring returned to him.
