Wedding Ring Lost at Venice Beach, CA…Found and Happily Returned.

I woke up this morning and checked my email. I found that I had received an email from Clemens about his wedding ring that he had lost the night before. I asked if he would call me so I could ask him about the loss. He called and described what had happened, and everything seemed to be in his favor, so I told him I would meet him at the beach as soon as I finished my breakfast. Clemens and his family are here from Vienna, Austria, and I knew it would be sad to have to leave such a cherished possession behind when he had to go home.

When I got to the beach Clemens and his young son met me and took me to the spot of the loss. He explained what happened, and I figured there was a good chance of a recovery. I began my grid, and made about 5 passes. I stopped to talk to Clemens when behind me I heard the sound of a tractor. It was the County beach cleaner towing a sifting machine behind the tractor, and he was stopped wanting to begin his pass right where I was looking for Clemens’ ring. Also this was in the wet sand where they never usually clean. Now in all of the years I have been helping people, never have I experienced the greedy audacity of the County employees like today, he knew what I was looking for. This guy wanted to get this ring before I did. I told Clemens not to move and make the County guy go around the area we searching, which he finally did. I made 2 more passes, and boom, Clemens’ ring in my scoop. He was very happy, as was I to be able to hand the ring back to him. Another great day!

Wedding Ring Lost in Backyard in San Pedro, CA…Found and Joyously Returned.

I received a call late this morning from Steve who had lost his wedding ring while gardening in his backyard. He had been getting his roses ready for the upcoming spring growing season mulching the area around each of his plants. It had been a cold day, and he had felt the ring a bit loose on his finger, but did not think much about it until later when after he had mulched all of his plants, he noticed it was gone. He looked all through the garden with no luck, and then found me on The Ring Finders web site. I let him know that I would be there as soon as possible, and when ready, I was on my way.

When I got there Steve took me to his yard, and showed me where he had been working. There was some wire to some lights that he was able to move, and some solar lights that I figured on working around. I was able to get to all of the areas that Steve showed me, but was unable to get a signal for the ring. The solar lights were providing a bit of a problem, but I worked around them as needed. I then went over the entire grass portion of his yard which was thick St. Augustine grass finding a dime and a penny. We talked, and then decided that we should detect the contents of the green waste bin, so Steve went out to get that ready. I told him I would go back once more and check the outer perimeter of the flower bed once more. I also worked closer to the solar lights, and near one was getting two signals, one strong one from the light post and another. I pulled the coil, and was still getting the second signal, and it was in the gold zone on my detector. I put in the pin pointer, and underneath a stalk of grass was his ring. I grabbed it and went out to tell Steve I had his ring, wherein he gave me a hug; he was so happy. It was so great to restore his joy! Another great day!

Lost Ring in a Grassy Park .. Whittier, CA. .. Found and Returned

Casey had been watching several children at Sorensen Park in Whittier, CA. While sitting on the lawn she took her white gold promise ring putting it on her backpack so she could apply sunscreen. She got distracted when one of the children she was supervising started to wander off. The ring fell off the backpack into to deep grass.

She didn’t realize the ring was missing for about an hour. Her attempts to locate her most special sentimental ring were unsuccessful.

Returning home that evening she told David, her fiancé. He was able to direct her to TheRingFinders website.

Somewhere about 10am she called me telling me she could meet me at the park around noon. It’s not always easy to have people meet you a the location. Timing is important when items are lost in a public place.

Casey was able to get me within a 50ft. square area. I began my grid search and within a half hour I got a nice low tone in my headphones. Kneeling down with my pinpointer I received a surface signal. The ring was not visible until I pushed away some of the clover grass.

She was several feet away pacing back and forth hoping to spot the ring herself, which does happen on these type of searches. Sometimes it’s just a matter of the position of the sun that helps to see a lost ring.

When, I called her over to look at something she had no idea that I had found the ring. It was special for me to see the look on her face when she saw the ring that she felt was lost forever.

This call was referred to me my another member of TheRingFinders, we always try to work with each other to handle these calls in the best possible way. Finding and Returning sentimental keepsakes is our priority.

Lost wedding ring at Bethune Beach, Fl……Found!

After an evening with my wife and some friends on the beach, tossing the football around, I realized after we had left that my wedding ring was no longer on my finger. To say panic set in, would be an understatement as this was the ring my wife and I had picked out together just over a year ago and she had put it on my finger at our wedding shortly after. After searching as thoroughly as possible, all hope was lost. How could I replace something that was irreplaceable? Turns out I wouldn’t have to! Thanks to some quick searching online by my wife, we found Mike’s information and I quickly contacted him. You would have thought his services would cost more than the ring I lost by the amount of detailed questions he asked, trying his best to narrow down the most likely location of my ring. After a few emails back and forth late in the evening, Mike put my mind at ease and said he was on the job. I thought, surely this was a lost cause, a ring lost on the beach….good luck with that! But Mike didn’t need luck, he’s a skilled veteran and within an hour of setting foot on the beach, he recovered my lost ring and saved my wife and I both heartache and money. There is no way I can thank him enough for his services. He’s living proof that miracles happen and sometimes you have to lose something to find them. As I told him before I left, I’d hoped I’d never need his services again, but you can bet that if the occasion ever arises, I’ll be calling Mike, The Lord of the Rings, to bring my precious back home to me! »

Lost Wedding Ring in Sand at Laguna Beach, CA. .. Found

Shaun lost his platinum wedding ring in the sand at Laguna Beach, CA. He had been on the dry sand when he brushed some sand off and his ring went flying into the sand. After 3 hours of trying to find it he gave up. Returning home he found my contact information online. Shaun called me at 7pm asking me if I could help him the next morning. I told him it was not wise to wait. He agreed to meet me a half hour later and before 8pm I was able to locate his platinum wedding band.

It wasn’t an easy search, because there was several deep metal signals that interfered with my search. We were lucky to pull out the platinum ring signal which read 12-04 on my CTX detector.

Shaun and his wife Elaine were totally surprised and grateful to have their ring back where it belongs. Everybody slept well that night. We were all back home by 9 pm.

Diamond Wedding Ring Lost at Venice Beach, CA…Found and Returned.

Two days ago I received an email late in the evening from Raja regarding his wedding ring. He had been at the beach, and while brushing the sand off of his hands against his pants, his wedding ring flew off. He and his wife looked for it but were unable to find it. Later he was searching the internet and located The Ring Finders site where he found me. I emailed him back asking that he call, but he was unable to make the call until the next morning. He called, and I asked my standard questions, finding out that the loss was in a place that the County beach cleaning machines would not be going over, so I felt good about a recovery. I arranged to meet his wife at the spot yesterday morning because Raja had to work.

When I got there Raja’s wife Harpreet and her brother in law met me and took me to the area of the loss. After a brief question and answer session, I proceeded to search for the lost ring. I began at the furthest possible area away from the loss and worked my way back to where Raja had been standing when cleaning his hands. It was when I got to his previous position that I received a good signal, dug, and had his ring in my scoop. The ring had not gone very far, but had flown far to the left of his original position. I pulled it out and showed it to Harpreet who gladly identified it as her husband’s ring. She told me they had been married just 2 years, so the ring was a fresh token of their commitment to each other. Needless to say she was very happy to be able to go home and give it back to Raja. They asked that I not use pictures of them in the blog, so you get me with the ring instead. A nice day of smiles!

Lost ring in sand at Daytona Beach, Fl……Found!

Jan. 1st, I received this comment on one of my ring search stories. Rich wrote, « I believe I lost my ring on the beach approximately 50 yards to the right–facing the ocean–from the end of the Oceanview parking lot wooden walkway. It may have slid off my finger when I shook out my wife’s towel. It is a simple gold Florentine wedding band with « Marla love Oli 1974″ engraved on the inside. By some stroke of luck if anyone finds it, please notify me. Thanks, Rich » So I sent Rich an e-mail and asked him my usual questions, like: « What day and what time of the day were you on the beach and shook out your towel? » And « When can you meet me and show me the exact place where you were on the beach? » And, « And it sounds like you are not exactly sure that you lost it on the beach! » Rich’s response was « I am sorry, but I forgot to mention that I am in the Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania area and was vacationing in Florida when I lost my ring. »
Thankfully Rich was able to give me precise details about where they were on the beach and what the area looked like. He even sent me a link to a google map with a pin of where they were when he shook out their towels. One of his descriptions of the beach indicated that there was soft sand and a long row of seaweed close to where they were sitting. That is what it looked like on Dec. 26th–the day after Christmas. But when I arrived at the beach, 9 days later, it was totally different looking. Sometime between Dec. 26th and Jan. 4th we had some really big waves with extra high surf. Enough to take a good 3 feet of sand off the upper beach area. There was literally no soft sand, except way up on the dunes. So I set up my 4 flags in the target area and looked for 4 hours and no ring. I did find lots of other targets–185 to be exact! Old crusty, green coins, fishing weights and all sorts of items. I sort of figured the ring would not be there after so much erosion and made plans to come back the following Sat. to look again. When I arrived on Saturday, the tide was a bit higher than I expected and I wound up searching higher up the beach and after digging more green coins and fishing weights—to my surprise up pops Rich’s lost gold wedding ring! I could hardly believe it was still in the same general area after all that erosion. I determined that a mans gold ring is quite different than a coin in that it does not slide and move around like a coin would. As the waves wash over it, back and forth, it tends to go down because of the hole in the center.
Rich was thrilled to hear that I found his ring and I was able to mail it to him the next week. All told, I searched 5 and a half hours and dug 185 targets, while looking for Rich’s ring. And it was so worth it!! Lost your ring? Call ASAP!

Wedding Ring Lost in Sand at a Local City Park

Nick called me early in the morning, asking my help finding his wedding band that he lost the last night. He was doing his daily workout after work. After he finishes his two mile run, he stops by a local park that has some workout bars that he uses to do some upper arm exercises.

While working out on the bars his wedding band slipped off his finger into deep sand. Nick went back to his house to get tools to sift trough the sand with no success finding his ring.

The next day Nick found my contact information on TheRingFinders.com.
He would be working till late that night, making it impossible to meet me at the site of the loss.

No problem for me as it was a neighborhood tot lot that would be find if he texted me the address. These public parks get hit hard by other people with metal detectors, especially sandy tot lot play areas.

I went to the park but could not locate the area Nick had described. I could not contact him but he did call me to check on my progress and he had sent me the wrong directions. A half hour later I was at the right park and within a few minutes I found Nick’s wedding ring.
I called him setting up a place we could meet to personally give him his wedding band back after he got off work. He was definitely grateful, thanking me several times.

Its always nice to return the ring directly to the owner, I know I’ll never get tired of doing this.

Gold Family Crest Signet Ring Lost at Venice Beach, CA…Found and Happily Returned.

I hadn’t been home too long Sunday after a successful ring recovery at Hermosa Beach, and was waiting as my wife was getting dinner ready when I received a call from Natasha. She had been at the beach on our very warm day, and went to apply sunscreen. To do so, she removed her family crest signet ring that had been given to her by her father. All of the members of her family received a family crest ring when they reach a certain age, so this was special. She told me she had stayed in the spot of the loss, so that was good news. I let her know that I would be coming immediately, we could not wait because the county sifting machines would be over the area early in the morning, and many people metal detect the area all the time.

When I got there it was dark, but we were able to find each other pretty quick. She showed me the area, and expanded it out a bit to be sure I would be able to cover everywhere she had been. I got my equipment ready, and she and her friends moved their towels and bags. I turned my detector on, swung to my right, and got a great signal. One scoop, and Natasha’s ring was in my scoop. She had unknowingly put me right next to her ring, and within 20 seconds it was found. Turned out to be a great day. Natasha’s smile tells it all.

Lost ring in Lake Eustis, Florida…..Found and Returned!

Danielle called me on a cold, wet Saturday morning in November, desperate for help. Apparently her sister’s fiance, Levi, had bought a beautiful engagement ring and wanted to do a practice run on the « Big Proposal » and somehow lost the ring. She explained that Levi had decided to go to Lake Eustis, with his older brother, and find the perfect spot to practice his proposal. Levi was standing along side of the rail and as he opened the ring box, to his horror, the ring popped out of the box, hit the concrete and dropped into the water below! He was stunned! His precious gift, the white gold ring with the .8 carat diamond was gone! He could not believe what just happened. He called his dear future sister in law, Danielle, and explained his dilemma. She immediately looked on line for someone to help and typed in « Lake Salvage » and nothing came up. Next she thought of « Ring Finder » and bingo, up came one of the ring finders stories.
I packed up my gear and headed for Lake Eustis. It was raining when I arrived and there was Levi, his brother and Danielle standing in the rain, anxiously awaiting my arrival. Levi told me exactly what happened and I could see he was upset….so I tried my best to give him hope and encourage him not to give up. After suiting up, I grabbed by gear and wadded into the murky water. Thankfully it was only 4 feet deep but the bottom was very uneven and full of weeds and debris. Right away I started finding targets. I retrieved a few coins, pull tabs and fishing lures…all the while trying to find Levi’s ring. After 30 minutes or so, I got a strong signal and up came a fish scaling tool. Then right in the exact same spot I got a clear, clean gold signal that proved to be Levi’s lost ring. I will never forget the look of relief on their faces and what a thrill it was to see their smiles. It was an honor to help you Levi, and I hope and pray the story of your lost and found ring brings smiles to your faces each time you recount the events of this day.
