On June 3rd I get a phone call from Joe who is out of town on vacation letting me know that there is a Mr. Muto who is searching the beach in Ko’olina for his Wife’s wedding ring. I gather the information from Joe and give Mr. Muto a call in which i reassure Mr. Muto that i will be heading out and to mark off the area in which he thinks it might be. I arrive at Ko’olina and meet up with Mr Muto which i start looking for the ring. I come across coins, rubbish,  until i hear a loud gold tone. I dig the site and inside the Xtreme scoop is a beautiful Tiffany and Co. Diamond ring. I look towards Mr. Muto and ask him what the ring looks like and He say « Tiffany » and right away I let him know of the great news… I FOUND IT! I returned it to Mr. Muto and we both leave the beach with this overwhelming joy that washed over us with relief and satisfaction.

The next day I receive a call from Mr. Mutos wife letting me know that there is another ring lost. I let her know that i will give her a call later that night and need to check. I call the Muto’s that evening and let them know I have a Cartier diamond wedding band.  They ended up driving to my house and we were able to reunite the last of the lost rings! What started out as a single ring find ended up being a double and both were recovered and returned to the rightful owner. Mahalo Joe Another Happy ending! Aloha is ALIVE!

Lost Rings found at Pacific Beach

Last night I received a call from Jose asking for help finding his wife Deisy’s engagement and wedding rings. They were enjoying the beach with their two children yesterday and Deisy had removed her rings and put them in her pants pocket, and then put the pants in her beach bag. Good idea to keep them safe, right? Well, it didn’t turn out that way. Later in the day when they were ready to leave, she got her pants out of the bag and put them on.  A few minutes later, when they got to the house, she reached into the pocket and, no rings. Back down to the beach to search for them, but, as is typical, it was fruitless. They could be where she put on the pants (most likely) or anywhere along their hike off the beach and to the house a block away. After searching for help with the lifeguards and online, they came upon TheRingFinders.com website and me. Being a popular beach to detect, I hot foot it down there and meet Jose who takes me to where they were camped out that afternoon. It was now just after high tide and the area had been washed over a bit by some waves, but, not a lot of erosion, so, the rings should still be there. I began an ever-expanding grid search from that point, and after 20 minutes or so, I get a good solid 8 on my Equinox. Out comes the pin pointer and I find the engagement ring just under the sand about 20 feet from my starting point. Great, the wedding should be close by….not! I gridded that area 6 ways from Sunday and not a sound. Oh well, we’ll do it the hard way. I expanded the area even more and made 4-5 passes all the way to the stairs thinking it might have fallen along the way. Nope, found a few coins, lots of foil junk, a junk ring,and a couple of stud earrings, but, no wedding ring. Since the tide had gone out significantly since I started a couple hours earlier, I decided to go back to the original site and expand down the slope toward the water. Sure enough, after a few passes, I get a nice solid 6-7 reading and up pops the wedding ring about half way down the slope. We headed back to the house where I met a tearfully grateful Deisy. Glad to have met you both and thank you for the reward.

Ring lost at Mission Beach found

Eric realized he shouldn’t play around in the sand with his wedding ring on, so, he thought it wiser to take it off and let someone else hold on to it until he was done. Little did he know that the person he handed it to would be the one to lose it in the sand. They knew approximately where it should be, but, sifting through the sand with their fingers and even borrowing a metal detector from the lifeguards didn’t help bring it to light. Off to the internet and a hit on TheRingFinders.com website. A quick look at the map and my name is listed for Mission Beach. I get the call about 8:15pm and arrange to meet Eric at 8:45pm at the site. We meet and I get the low down on how/where it was lost and what we’re looking for. On my first pass and only a couple of minutes later, I get a promising signal. Yup, it’s what we’re looking for. Both Eric and his friend are happy and relieved to get the ring back. Pleasure to meet you both and thank you for the reward.

Lost White Gold Ring Found!! In Post Falls Idaho

Today was a day of metal detecting for me. I started off by diving in a lake looking for a wedding ring lost 2 years ago to which I didn’t find. After coming home and cleaning up my gear I wrote a lady back who asked if I would travel to Post Falls, Idaho for a ring search. After dinner my Family and I went to a newly discovered park near our house to play. I was swinging my Whites detector around the playground when Charlayne, the lady who wrote me from Post Falls, called. I asked a few questions and found out that she had lost her ring in the front yard or the back after placing it in her pocket with a hole at the bottom. She also told me that she had rented a metal detector and raked both yards with no luck. I said I would be right over. My family and I drove 32 minutes to reach her house. After putting on my gear and seeing a picture of the ring Charlayne left me to my work. Which was a short job. I made my way from the front steps to the mail box like Charlayne said she had done and found a small foil wrapping under a fresh dug hole. So I made a second pass on the other side back to the steps and then back down for a third pass. I was about half way to the mail box when WHAM!! A solid 13-14 vdi at depth of 0 inches rang up and my pinpointer showed me why well cared for grass hides rings the best. After taking a picture of the ring hidden in the grass I smiled at my wife who was watching me from the car. I then headed to the back of the house to find Charlayne, her face went from worried anticipation to fourth of July fire work happy. After I showed her the spot where her ring had fallen out of the hole in her pocket and hid from her for a week; we said our goodbyes and took her advice to have some ice cream at Rogers. Thanks for the suggestion Charlayne and for trusting in The Ring Finders to find what you lost.

LOST DIAMOND RING FOUND WAIKIKI

On 5/7/18 I was out on the North Shore at 5:00 AM preparing to look for a lost men’s wedding ring and it was still dark. As I’m getting ready I look online and saw a lost wedding ring posted on Craigslist on the opposite side of the island and decide to respond to the ad to offer my help. As the sun started to rise while I was on the North Shore I notice that the waves coming up and looked too risky to put my metal detector in the water next to all the reef and to look for the ring in the high surf conditions. I decide to text Faith and see if we would be able to meet up to search for the ring she posted about on Craigslist. She and I decided to meet at the beach.  She told me that she had someone come out and look for it thoroughly for an hour and a half the day prior so if I was willing she would appreciate it. I decide to go over the searched area even though it was search previously  as « It’s always good to search for yourselves »  and sure enough after a few TRASHY items I noticed on my CTX3030 a solid reading of gold/Platinum! As I look in my scoop there it is and I think to myself thats a beauty. What do I tell Faith? How do I tell her as she is simmering around the beach and telling Uncle China (Known Surfer) about her lost ring. I shout to Faith  » Do you wanna SMILE NOW or LATER? » Faith responds, « huh? »  I say it again, « Do you wanna SMILE NOW or LATER? » Faith stops in her tracks and shouts « NO WAY KAI » with tears running down her face I hold up her beautiful ring. The onlookers and the guys that were with Uncle China gave a loud shout and exciting praise!!!  The ring which is so precious was back in the rightful hands and now able to pass down to the next generation. Precious items should be kept safe and I know this family heirloom will be kept safe and passed down for more years to come. Thank you and always have FAITH!

Lost Man’s Wedding Ring FOUND! in Spokane valley Wa

After starting my work for the day I got a call from Judd. His wedding ring had gone missing. On the day that Judd was turning 50 he woke up sick. So because he had to attend his own birthday he went outside to do a little work out. After hearing this I knew the ring was in his yard and I could find it fast. So I got done done with my work and headed to Judd’s house. He told me that he started his work out on the hanging rings. Before he started the hanging, he took off his wedding band and placed it in his pocket. Like all deeds that are done to keep the ring safe this act made Judd lose his ring. I knew that if his wedding band fell off by his hanging rings where the grass was thin,Judd would have spotted it. So we moved to the spot where he stretched. I started searching there. And there is where I found his ring. Judd’s ring was just one pass over from where he did a back arch. The ring was hiding under a tuff of grass. Judd had been wearing that ring for 21 years and almost gave up on finding it.

Lost gold ring found at Vanderbilt Beach, Naples, Florida

While swimming at Vanderbilt Beach on Sunday 4/22/18, Michele suddenly and unexpectedly felt one of her beautiful 14k gold rings come off her finger.  For nearly two hours dozens of people, some from her group and other swimmers nearby, frantically searched the crystal clear water with masks and snorkels, but could not find the lost ring.  Despite incoming tide and increasing wind and surf, Michele did the right thing, she made note of several reference points and calmly remained in place while others sought help and arranged for location services.  Upon my arrival Michele described the ring and we carefully reviewed reference points, both of which made for a quick and successful recovery.  Notwithstanding use of $3k+ in search equipment, I found the ring within seconds, mere inches from where she was and had remained standing.  A picture is worth a thousand words…

Lost Gold Diamond Wedding Band Set Recovered in Nottingham, Maryland!

I received a call back on the 18th of March from a woman who was positive she lost her wedding set in her back yard while doing some spring cleanup with her husband. Despite searching through the leaves for hours, they were unable to locate either of the rings. They also decided to go out and purchase a metal detector and give that a try. They quickly realized if you are not proficient and experienced with a detector, attempting to use one on the fly leads to frustration. I was able to meet them at their home that very day (Sunday) and immediately began my search once they showed me the probable areas where the rings might be. After about 20 minutes……SUCCESS!

The rings(the one in the picture above is her engagement ring) were not too far from each other and were up close to a shed in the yard. To complicate things, there were spare railing pieces leaned up against the shed making the « hiding place » perfect, but they couldn’t escape me!

The rings are now back where they belong with their very happy owner!

lost gold necklace and ring Waimea bay North Shore

On Saturday March 10th 2018 I noticed on Craigslist a lost Gold necklace and ring which was LOST at Waimea Bay on the North Shore of Oahu. I was previously there hobby hunting but in the water earlier that morning. So, I replied to the post and I got in touch with Jessica. Jessica was more than happy to give me the info needed so i could narrow the search area as it is 9:45 in the evening and visibly would be poor. I packed up the equipment and kissed the wife and kids good night. I arrived at Waimea bay and start the search. almost 2 hours into the search and after many coins and rubbish I FIND THE JEWELRY! I was so excited to text Jessica while standing on the shoreline for a meeting the very next day. She agreed and we met up in Salt lake Where I was able to return her precious items. This hunt was very spontaneous and yet Successful. Thank you Jessica for allowing me to reunite your MISPLACED ITEM… Happy to find it but excited its back in the rightful owners hands. Lost gold ring in Lake Dora, Mt. Dora, Florida….Found!

As Nick stood at the end of the dock looking out over the water, he realized he was getting rather warm. So he decided to take off his sweatshirt and as he pulled it over his head he felt his gold ring slip off of his finger and watched as it dropped into the water. This was a very special ring, given to him by his grandfather and he immediately felt his heart sink! What was he to do? How could he retrieve his special ring?
A couple of months passed as Nick tried to think of different ways to get his lost ring back. He finally came across theringfinders.com web site and saw that someone could help him and that I was located close by. After calling me and explaining what happened we met at the dock and Nick showed me exactly where the ring fell into the water. It was over 10 feet deep so I suited up and dove in. Right at 10 feet the bottom of the lake had a soft, silky, muddy like texture. As I reached my arm down into the soft silt and mud, my hand was not able to touch the actual bottom of the lake. I used my Garrett pro pointer to find a few targets in the mud but only came up with a handful of nails, screws and a few pieces of aluminum foil. So I figured there had to be another way to retrieve Nick’s lost ring. Two weeks later I tried out a new method for finding rings in the water. I had made up a basket and covered it with half inch hardware cloth and then fixed it to a 16 foot metal pole. My first attempt at dragging the sifter thru the mud and silt lasted 5 hours and still no ring. On Dec. 31st I searched again for only an hour and was asked to leave the dock so the city could set up for fireworks. The next day, Jan. 1st, I went back and after one and a half hours….I could hardly believe my eyes! There in the sifter was Nick’s lost gold ring! I sent Nick a photo and asked him if that was his ring? And as he showed the photo to his family, they all joyously celebrated together! It took 8 hours of hard work to find Nick’s ring and it was so very rewarding and satisfying to finally hand it over to him. Thank you Nick for calling me and for giving me the opportunity to help you recover your lost ring!
