Mary had put her rings in her pants pocket for safe keeping but when she got home it was missing. She searched her bag and around the house but thought it might have feel out when she took her pants off to go swimming. She was right!!

This amazing story started with a call for help from a very stressed and tired couple. Sylvia and Callan reached out to me asking for my assistance in helping them find three missing diamond wedding rings. We had a very extensive phone conversation and through my interview approach we reconstructed a time line and possible conditions that may guide us to recovery plan. So many great successes have happen when people take the time to open up and share the details of their loss. An open mind always helps when people are willing to be lead though the process as participants rather than bystanders. I tell people all the time the end goal is that your lost item of value is recovered however this may come about. I don’t have to be the one that finds it just allow me to assist you. We put a lot of ideas on the table and figured out where best to put my hands to work where it makes the most since. I told them its a team effort and hopefully by the end of the process we will have found your rings or at the very least have some strong confidence where it isn’t.
Sylvia’s three diamond rings were last seen on on her night stand on Thursday and it came to their attention two days later on Saturday they they were gone no where to be found. After a frantic few days of searching their home they contacted me on Wednesday the 2nd asking for help.
Callan explained his wife had just lost three separate gold wedding rings totaling several carrots in diamonds. I learned Sylvia is in the habit of taking her rings off each night and placing them in a dish on her night stand. When she went to collect her rings a few days later all three rings were missing and no where to be found. I inquired if any external people had access to her apartment. They explained their four year old daughter was at the home when the rings went missing. They had asked her and got mixed answers. It was also told to me that Sylvia had found her rings on the bed before because the young girl had previously played with them. There was no other persons in the apartment. They have a dog that doesn’t get on to things and a cat that may have jumped on to the night stand. We all had our suspicions that the young daughter might have migrated the rings to different places in the home that they had not looked yet. Prior to calling me they went through every inch of her things with not even a single ring found. I said that is odd that you lost all three and have’t even found one yet. I was told before she started lookin for her rings they had been cleaning the house all day. The whole time the daughter was happily at play.
I threw out a lot of typical suggestions to check clothing. They informed me they had already looked over their washer and close dryer. I also inquired about all the house hold garbage. Callan said he had gone through all of it. I pressed him a bit and asked how thorough of an inspection he had made. I was reassured with his military experience and deep drive to find his wife’s expensive wedding ring set he searched every scrap. A short time later in the conversation they had a memory that it might have been possible the kitchen trash was the only bag that was taken outside to the dumpster. They said that was about a week ago and believed it could have already been collected. I tried to reassure them that we needed to remain positive and not think the worst. They still had a lot of area to search within their home and soon there after I would drop by to do an in home inspection. We had schedule the home inspection for the 10th. In the mean time I left them with plenty of tips on how to continue searching and stressed that they had to remain very detailed and concise with their efforts. I left them with the following statement, “I pray God’s hand of protection are upon your rings, that they are still in the home and that we recover all three of them shortly!”
The next morning June 3rd at 8:45 AM I find the following photos on my text message from Callan.
Callan writes, “Found them in our trash bag at the bottom of our apartment dumpster.”
As soon as I noticed the text message I made a call to get the details. Callan told me that night in his sleep he recalled vacuuming his master bedroom while helping with the house cleaning effort. He remembered hearing three distinct noises being vacuumed up but thought nothing of it at the time and carried on. After the vacuuming the canister vacuum was emptied onto the kitchen trash and then that trash was taken out to the dumpster! When he woke up he went straight outside to to find a completely full trash dumpster He said he trashed a pair of pants and shoes as he made his way to very bottom of the dumpster where he located his kitchen trash bag. He noticed the pet hair and initial located two of the rings fairly quickly, got a bit stressed but found the third after a little more digging through the pet hair. They suspected Sylvia may have been hurried when she placed her rings on the corner of the night sand and possibly not into the dish. There was also some possibility their cat could have jumped onto the night stand as some point batting the rings off the table onto the floor below. As we were speaking on the phone wrapping up our conversation he stopped me to let me know the trash truck had just arrived to empty the dumpster!
Thank God for answering our prayers and prompting Callan in the middle of the night. We were all so very thankful for the outcome and once again shocked to learn of another set of wedding rings, this time not just one ring but three all being saved within moments of being hauled to the landfill never to have been seen again.

Young Dad Gets His Ride Back……
…..A call came in around noon today from Keegan who was visiting some family. He said he brought the children to the park and took a zig-zag shortcut thru a woodsy, undeveloped park of the park to avoid some flooding on a trail. When they got back to the car about an 1/8th of a mile away he reached for his key and just the plastic holder that held the key was there. Panicked at being stranded he thought how he was going to get back home to Pontiac MI. On site we discussed where the key may have come off the plastic holder so we packed up the children and drove to the woodsy area. While the children sat in my van with the air conditioning on, the temperature was rising as Keenan and I went into the search area. I had my MXT metal detector set for no discrimination and sensitivity set as high as I could as sweeping the coil was difficult thru the thick and deep foliage. Getting tangled a few times convinced me this was where his key got caught and came off. There was no way to get a perfect swing of the metal detector coil so poking the end of the coil in and out of openings in the brush and pushing the weeds down with the coil was my only option. After a few junk signals came thru I found a small piece of open ground with loose leaves. Sweeping the coil over I got a nice signal 0″ deep in the brass range on the MXT meter. Checking with my pin-pointer outlined a basic shape size of a key and pushing the brown leaves aside revealed his missing key! Keenan was in total shock that it was here and that he didn’t have to get towed and a new key made! Taking them back the the car and watching him unlock the door and drive off was wonderful to see! Even tho his day started on a blue note, they are now on their way to a wonderful Father’s Day!

This piece aired around Valentine’s Day 2021 and grabbed the attention of many people in need of lost item recovery support. One of those that reached out to me was a mother named Janice. She told me that her daughter had been tossing snow balls in their back yard, had lost her wedding ring and they were franticly searching all over when she heard the radio interview. In our initial correspondence I instructed her family to carefully check all gloves and clothing and the surrounding area but to be reassured I was on my way to do a search. My schedule was set to come out quickly there after however before I showed up I got the good news. Janice reported that her daughter had located her wedding ring inside one of the glove’s fingers. I was happy to hear the good news, shared some smiles over the phone and in closing reminded them to keep me in mind anyone else ever needs some lost item recovery help to reach out to me.
Fast forward to May 2021, I received a phone call from Janice again. As the call came across my phone I scratched my head as her name seemed very familiar. She quickly explained her daughters past situation then proceeded to tell me her son just had a recent incident in their same back yard. She told me that he had a bit of a stressful moment and threw an item across the back yard. In doing so his large chunky wedding band launched off his finger at the same time. They had searched all over with no success and asked if I could pay a visit to look for his ring. Of course I was happy to take the call and meet up with them soon after.
When I arrived her son, Tim, explained he had tossed a bottle across the yard and his ring flew off. I reassured them that we all have our moments but not to worry that his ring was some place in the yard and being that this was a recent incident we had a great opportunity in finding his ring. He describe his ring as a chunky black wedding band with flat sides like a hex nut.
After searching the yard with my medal detectors and visually searching several hiding places with a bright flashlight in hand I eventually made my way back to my starting point. This is where I located his ring no more than maybe a few feet from where he had made his initial toss. His big chunky tungsten carbide wedding band was found laying obscured by some thick grass just waiting to be discovered by my medal detector.
Tim and his family were happy to see the ring recovered and back on his finger. All was well once again with smiles and appreciation for Tim’s recovered wedding ring.

I was enjoying a good sound sleep when my phone rang at 5:30 AM. It was Robyn. She had lost her gold Cartier ring while taking pictures at about 10:00 PM the night before near the water at the beach. She reached down to wash some sand from her hands when in a moment, the ring that was a little loose fitting came off, and disappeared in the sand and water. Robyn had not been able to sleep well the night before, found my information on The Ring Finders site, and called immediately, just as I ask. I let her know that I had to get some nourishment, wake up a bit, and I would be on my way. She said she would meet me there. Always, the sooner the search happens the more apt you are to have a successful recovery.
I got to the beach a little before Robyn, and began searching the area she showed me by a Google Earth shot she sent to me. I did not find anything, the sand I covered was free from any type of metal. I was ready to enter the water to look when Robyn came with her husband David. We discussed the loss, and they showed me that I might have been looking in the wrong area by about 30 feet. I moved over, and began a grid working back to the original search area. Working my way up the slope I finally got a signal, and my hopes rose, as I am certain they did for Robyn, I dug, and up came a piece of aluminum which turned out to be a bit disheartening for the 3 of us. I continued working towards the original search area, when I received my second signal down in the moist wet sand. I dug, and I could see a small piece of iron come up. I picked it up and went over the hole again with the coil, and received another signal, I scooped again, dumped the sand, and kicked it across the beach when there on top was a nice gold ring. I looked at Robyn and David, and gave them a thumbs up. They immediately came over, and David picked up the ring in disbelief, both of them thinking it was lost forever. We as ring finders know that time is the enemy of a good recovery, and Robyn made the right choice by calling me immediately, not caring what time it was. I was so happy to get this ring back to them. Their smiles tell it all!

Daniel and his family were enjoying the beach at Fort Macon State Park. Daniel removed his wedding band before heading into the water. It wasn’t until they returned to their vehicle that Daniel realized he didn’t put his ring back on his finger. His wife Shanta found Crystal Coast Ring Finders and plans were made to attempt a recovery the following day. After going through the proper channels to secure permission, we headed to the area that Daniel had marked very well the previous day. After a few sweeps, my Equinox 800 displayed a strong 21 signal. Daniel’s ring was found just a couple of inches below the surface.

*** Lianne called me asking for help finding her ring that she had lost last night at Santa Monica Beach, CA. Like most of my calls, she wanted to know how my service works. Every search is different, so I need a few minutes on the phone to discuss basic information. There are situations where the person can not meet me at the location. With good information I can do a search without the person meeting me at the location. I have a basic fee to help with my travel expenses. We are usually able to take care of that by electronic money transfers after I do the search.
Lianne could not leave work but she gave me very good idea of how the ring was lost and she was within 30 feet from the north side of a lifeguard tower. She did feel the ring come off her finger. (a bonus clue, many times people don’t have an idea when the loss occurred ). I agreed to drive to the location at Santa Monica Beach.. She said, if I had anymore questions she could take phone calls anytime. We were also able to do FaceTime calls on our iPhones. That did help because when I arrived at the parking lot there was a little confusion about the lifeguard tower number. We straightened out that problem using a FaceTime phone call.
After clarifying the lifeguard tower number I was able to recovery Lianne’s ring after after a short grid search. Lifeguard towers in Southern California are usually not moved except in the winter.. I understand that on the east coast of our country they move lifeguard towers where they have flat beaches with lone tide movement.
After notifying Lianne, I called her , offering to deliver her ring if she was available. It worked out fine because her work place was just a few blocks my drive home. Actually we met at lunch time. She was very surprised that we had accomplished the search, recovery and return using our cellphones and the mapping apps. Eugene contacted me about his ring he had lost the day before in the sand at the beach. He got hold of me early in the morning, so I was thinking there was a chance the machines had not gone over the whole beach. He was not going to be able to meet me there, so he sent me a good group of photos showing where he and his family had been; everything helps. I let him know I would head out as soon as I had something to eat.
When I arrived at the beach, and looked out over the sand, my heart sank. I could see that the tractors had already gone through, and the machines had cleaned the beach. I took some pictures of the carnage, and sent them to Eugene explaining how it was unlikely that the ring would still be there, but that because I had made the drive, I would still make the search. I used his photos and maps to coordinate my position for the search, and then began what I really thought would be a futile exercise. I made two passes, got a good signal, dug, and to my surprise, there was a nice shiny ring in my scoop. I immediately took a picture, and sent it to Eugene asking if he was Irish, because he had an Irishman’s luck this day. We had to wait a week before I could get it back to him, and when I did, it was a pleasure, as we had a great time in fellowship.
