Ring Lost in Coronado Found

  • from La Jolla (California, United States)

Zari spent the day at the beach in Coronado, and when she was ready to go home, noticed her wedding ring/engagement ring combo was missing off her finger. She wasn’t sure if it came off in the dry sand building sand castles, or, out in the water where she was tumbled by a wave after introducing her daughter to her first experience in the surf. After an online search and finding TheRingFinders.com and my info, she contacted me Tuesday evening for help. Since there was a strong possibility that the ring could be in the water, I told Zari that it would be best if I conducted the search at the next low tide, which was at 4:38am the next morning. I had her send me some photos of her location on the beach along with a photo of the rings. Upon arrival the next morning at 2:30am, I triangulated the photos to get me on ground zero. Unfortunately, I discovered grid marks all over the sand in the area of where she had been camped the previous day and they lead down the slope toward the water. Not a good sign! Looks like someone has been there recently, but, that’s a very popular section of beach, so, not completely unexpected. I looked down the beach in both directions, and the grid marks are only 50 feet either way of ground zero. Nowhere else on the beach!  WTF? I’m thinking that someone somehow knew there must be a lost ring there. Well, I was already there, so, I may as well give it a try. I hit the dry sand first and didn’t get a single good target other than one zinc cent. Ok, off to the water. I made 4-5 passes into the surf without a single target. On the sixth pass just as I turned to head back up slope from shin deep water, I get a nice solid 10 on the Equinox, One scoop and I had the ring! I texted Zari with the good news, but, didn’t expect or get a response until later in the morning. After a bit of sleep, got up, and went off to another detecting adventure that morning, I arranged with Zari to meet later in the day and get the ring back on her finger. A pleasure to meet you and thank you for the reward.

If you lose your ring at the beach or public park call ASAP … TIMING IS IMPORTANT.. Stan the Metal Detector Man available to help you now..  949-500-2136
*** Angela lost her gold university class ring in the sand while brushing sand off her hand. All of her friends spent several hours trying to recover the ring. It was not looking like the ring could be found and she was devastated. One of her friends found me on a google search and she called me immediately.

After hearing what happened, I knew it could be found if she could stay in the area for another hour until I got to the location. This was probably our only chance to find her ring as the beach is sifted daily and this time of year it is heavily hunted by recreational detectorists.

We met on the within the time I said I could be there. I set up my metal detector and the ring was found right in the zone that was marked by many finger drag marks they left me after their attempts to find the ring.

Everyone was relieved that the ring was found and their good friend, Angela could be happy that her beautiful gold university class ring was not lost forever.

Fingers CROSS-ED

On June 27th Rick Browne from the Ring Finders called and invited me to search for a silver cross that was lost the day before. I declined because of the high winds, rain, and BIG surf, and lots of heavy seaweed moved into the search area. Rick said he was going anyway to give it a quick scan. He called me later on that evening and said I made the correct decision that it was useless, he could just about move the detector because of waves and thick seaweed.
We touched base on the next morning and again he asked if I wanted to give it another try. I said I’m in. We met up, and went to the general area he was told it was possibly lost. Still lots of seaweed but less waves. We made our way out into water, Rick went his way, and I in the opposite direction. After about 45 minutes we both shrugged our shoulders, we still had no signals.  I made my way over to the outside of the grid area, and finally i got a lonely signal, but it was low, not high like silver, hmm? Low tone usually means Gold. As I dug it, Rick kept heading out into deeper water. As I looked deep into my scoop, sure enough it was the Silver CROSS that we were searching for. Puzzled a bit, when I motioned to Rick he looked surprised. He made his way over to see what I had found. He said “That’s It”  I flipped it over and it said 14K.  Makes sense it was White Gold. (Silver Color)
Rick & I went up to car and took a few pictures, then called Mary and Dave her husband… They couldn’t  believe we had found it. They took no time to get to us. Jennifer and Keith her husband bought the Cross for their son Colin. It was for his Confirmation in Jan of 2019. It has a very special meaning. Colin was devastated when he lost it. Rick and I are so glad that its back where it belongs. God Bless him and his family for believing in us. We never give up.
Sincerely Leighton

On June 5, I received a call from Sarah, requesting help to find a ring she had lost in her yard. When I arrived, she explained that the ring was her father’s ring and that he passed away recently.  She had his ring on her thumb and was doing some yard work.  When she noticed that the ring was missing, she called a friend, who I had helped to find a ring a couple of years ago.  The friend recommended that Sarah call me. I searched her yard and was concerned, because it was getting dark.  After 45 minutes of searching, I located the ring.  She was so happy to have her father’s ring back, and I was excited to be able to reunite her with this precious item.

Lost Range Rover Key Fob…Found in Baltimore, Maryland

  • from Washington (District of Columbia, United States)

Moe’s Very Expense 2020 Range Rover Key Fob Missing for 2 Months was Found by Item Recovery Specialist Brian Rudolph!

Moe’s Wife, Pamela, Smiling from Ear to Ear After Item Recovery Specialist Brian Rudolph, Member of THE RING FINDERS, Finds Range Rover Key Fob!

Call Item Recovery Specialist Brian Rudolph at (301) 466-8644! He Will Find Your Lost Vehicle’s Key Fob along with Rings, Smartphones and Other Jewelry in All Kinds of Environments: Land, Water, Sand, Cliffs, Snow, Leaves, Houses & Vehicles!

I received a call from a young lady named Pamela who lived in in Baltimore, Maryland. She was contacting me on behalf of her husband Moe who lost his 2020 Range Rover key fob after coming home from a March Madness party nearby. After getting out of his vehicle, he made his way to the house, opened the front door with his house key and then proceeded to go into the family room where he greeted his wife and then watched TV until he fell asleep on the couch. The next morning, Moe looked everywhere for his key fob and was not able to find it anywhere. The first place he looked was his jean’s pockets, but they were completely empty. Hours upon hours went by and the poor guy could not find the fob anywhere in the house or outside on the lawn. His wife Pamela helped in the search and even she could not pull the rabbit out of its hat! The nearly brand-new Range Rover would end up sitting in the driveway for another two months before their cry for help came my way.

Pamela had contacted me because she was interested in renting a metal detector. Instead, I convinced the woman to hire me to come out to their property and help the couple find the missing key fob instead of wasting her money and time with a rental. The next day, I drove to Baltimore, Maryland where I met up with Pamela at their house. As soon as I arrived, my client greeted me and took me over to the Range Rover in the driveway. It was unlocked so I was able to search the vehicle to make sure that the remote had not been dropped somewhere under or around the front seats. I used my endoscope to search all of the corners and spaces where the naked eye would not be able to see within. Though I did not find the missing fob at that point, I did recover a gold chain that was buried under the driver side seat.

When I was certain that the electronic device was not in the vehicle, I metal detected the front lawn just in case Moe had dropped the fob as he walked across the grass leading to the front porch. Unfortunately, there was no “clicker” hidden or buried on that section of the property.

As soon as I concluded that the yard was clear of the key fob, I did a quick search of the front porch (which contained a number of things placed on top of its concrete slab). It didn’t take long for me to once again conclude that the fob was not in that location of the house. It was at that point that Pamela authorized me to search the couple’s family room where Moe had retired for the night on that dreadful March evening.

The only place that I could search in the family room was the couch and the recliner. Moe had fallen asleep on one part of the sectional couch but I didn’t find anything with my endoscope in that piece of furniture. I continued to analyze all of the other sections of the sofa, as well as the recliner, but I ended up being convinced that the very expensive Range Rover remote was not hidden anywhere in the family room furniture.

Pamela insisted that there were no other places in the home that the fob could have ended up since Moe had not gone anywhere else on the first floor upon him coming home from the party that night. We both concluded that this missing item would end up as an unsolved mystery since there were no other places for me to search.

I packed up my things in the family room and headed out of the front door towards my vehicle to retrieve my credit card payment device. Just as I opened the front door, I looked straight down towards the very left corner of the porch and immediately I could not believe what my eyes were staring at! Behind a broom, there rested on the concrete slab…the missing Range Rover key fob! I was in complete utter shock! Though I had checked the slab, I did not look behind the broomstick that was leaning up against that corner of the porch! For the past two months, that missing fob had just been sitting there in the corner right next to the front door! I couldn’t wait at that moment to share the amazing news with the bewildered wife who was not particularly happy with her husband’s absentmindedness!

After I returned back to the house once I retrieved my credit card reader, I gave Pamela the surprise of her life! She nearly fainted in her house when I revealed the amazing news that I have found the long sought after electronic item! She could not believe where I had found it! She was beyond shocked that it had been resting there on the floor of the porch just inches from the front door that the couple had been walking in and out of for the past 60 days! All that time, It had been laying there literally underneath their noses!

I made my client the happiest woman that evening and she couldn’t stop thanking me and acknowledging how wise she was to hire an item recovery specialist rather than to rent a metal detector that would have been completely useless! It turned out to be yet another fantastic finish written in the annals of my metal detecting journal pages! How sweet that evening was!

Wedding Band Lost In Ocean Found Ocean City NJ by Ring Finders South Jersey John Favano

  • from North Wildwood (New Jersey, United States)

Lost a ring?
Don’t wait to call!

Matt lost his wedding band while he and his son were jumping waves in Ocean City, NJ this past Friday. The ring was lost going in to high tide. The first attempt to recover it was nearly impossible due to the rough waves from the incoming tide, so I returned the next day at low tide to be able to go out farther in the ocean where it might have dropped. After about 20 minutes of searching, I got a nice signal from the metal detector and the ring was found!

Wedding Ring lost in Kent County, Michigan Park

  • from Manistee (Michigan, United States)
Contact:

I received a call from Jennifer S. last night telling me she had lost her wedding ring while playing in the water with her son Josh. Jennifer’s friend told her to contact Tom Towsend who is a Ringfinder, Tom referred her to me as I was closer and probably available. After getting all the details as to what happened I told her I would be out to the Park as soon as it opened. The swim area was about the size of 2 football fields but Jennifer was able to narrow my search to between 3 buoys. I started to grid the area for a couple of hours with no results. That day I met Jennifer along with my Ringfinder partner Dave Boyer to check out the area and possibly narrow our search.

The next morning at 7 AM Dave and I started another grid search from the edge of the water to the buoys. After a search of the area without turning up a ring we crossed the grid area the opposite way. On the first pass toward the last buoy I got a good hit on gold and there the ring was in my scoop. After getting out of the water I contacted Jennifer leaving a message.

Jennifer called me soon after my message and I told her « I found the ring » we made arrangements to meet at a local restaurant to give her the ring. The expression and excitement she displayed make being a Ringfinder worth all the effort. Thank you Tom Towsend for the referral.

Yellow Gold Wedding and Engagement Set Lost in the Ocean, Found and Returned North Myrtle Beach SC

  • from North Myrtle Beach (South Carolina, United States)

This ring search started with a 10:53 pm text from Monica on Tuesday, June 28th. Her text read “Hello Jim, my mom lost her wedding and engagement ring in the ocean yesterday evening and we cannot find it. Can you help?” My son and daughter-in-law were in town, so, I responded back to her that I was on vacation. I also told her that I had a couple of guys filling in for me, and ask what beach. She gave me all the details I needed to pass along to Mike G., the guy handling North Myrtle Beach for me. I forwarded the info to him, knowing he was probably in bed, but I’d talk to him in the morning. Shortly after getting all the texting done, I found out the kids had plans and I could go ahead and do the search. I sent another text to Mike letting him know I could do the search and to let me know.

This morning, I woke up to a text from Mike saying that he would prefer me take the hunt. He had helped a neighbor look for a lost ring the day before and was hobbling around. I also had a text from Monica asking if Mike had replied. I told her, that instead of Mike, I was going to be doing the hunt. I’d be there at noon to work the outgoing tide. Everything was working itself out.

I showed up a little before noon and met Monica, Norman and Tina in the resort parking lot. Tina was the one who lost her precious treasure. What happened was, Tina had gotten into the incoming tide about 5:30 pm Monday evening and was hit and knocked down by a pretty rough wave. When the wave hit her, she fell forward and watched her ring set fly off her finger. The last two days have been horrible for her not having her rings. We walked out on the beach and Tina showed me the area she lost her rings. Knowing she lost her ring about an hour and a half before high tide and I was there a couple of hours before low tide, I figured the ring set would be accessible in the wet sand. I started a perpendicular grid search going out to about thigh deep and heading north. I knew I was going deeper than I needed to but I didn’t want to miss the low tide, just in case I miscalculated. I did about 10 grid lines and hadn’t had one target. I went back to my start line and started working the grid south. I glanced up to see Norman and Tina and their expressions looked like they were losing hope. I also noticed that some tourists were starting to move their chairs down closer to the surf, so I was losing search area. On my 5th or 6th line I got the loud and clear 15/16 on the Equinox 800 VDI (visual display indicator). This was in the range I was looking for. One scoop and I had the target out of the hole. I spread the sand out with my foot and saw the yellow gold shining in the sunlight. I picked the ring up and it was exactly as Norman had described it – BINGO! I looked up at Norman and Tina and Norman was watching so I did my little “found it shuffle.” He popped up out of his chair, said something to Tina who then joined him in a very fast pace in my direction. When Norman got close, I held out my fist holding the ring and dropped it in his hand. Tina was overwhelmed when she saw it but she was so happy.

Monica – Thank you for finding me on your Google search.

Tina/Norman – Thank you for trusting me and The Ring Finders to help find your lost treasure.  Now you can enjoy your last couple of days of vacation. Have a safe trip back home.

Jim

Successful Recovery Mission: Lost Promise Ring Found at Oxnard Beach

  • from Santa Barbara (California, United States)
Title: Dave MacDonald Recovers Lost Promise Ring at Oxnard Beach, Santa Barbara Expert
Monday evening, Kaitlyn texted me in distress: her promise ring had vanished into the surf and wet sand at Oxnard Beach Park. As Dave MacDonald, the top Santa Barbara ringfinder, I knew timing was critical. I scheduled an early Tuesday search during low tide, covering East Beach to Ventura State Beach. Armed with Kaitlyn’s rough location, I launched a three-hour grid search at Oxnard Beach, but the ring stayed hidden.
Undeterred, Kaitlyn and her boyfriend Flavio joined me Wednesday morning. We revisited Oxnard Beach, adjusting for shifting sands—a challenge I’ve faced at Hendry’s Beach and Leadbetter Beach. Expanding beyond Mandalay Beach-like wet zones to the slope and high tide line, we pressed on. My metal detector finally sang along the high tide—a buried treasure! I dug up the promise ring, surprising Flavio with the find.
This recovery proves persistence pays off, whether it’s Butterfly Beach, Loon Point Beach, or Thousand Steps Beach. From Mesa Lane Beach to Port Hueneme Beach, I’m your go-to for lost ring recovery in Santa Barbara.

Lost .7 Carat Diamond Earring in Park City, Utah- Found

I was in Texas all last week visiting family when I received a text message concerning a lost .7 carat diamond stud earring in Park City. Kirsten had went out to do some yard work and was cutting some low hanging branches when one of those branches struck her on the side of the head. She didn’t think much of it at the time but when she returned to the house, she found the backing to one of her diamond stud earrings in her clothes. She quickly realized that she had lost her earring and that’s when she reached out to me to come help. She had been piling up all the branches in one spot so when I got to the location, I first started to detect around where the branch hit her and then proceeded to follow the path to the pile of branches. Diamond stud earrings are very hard to find with a detector cause there’s just not a lot of metal to work with. I made some adjustments on the detector and as I made my way to the pile of branches, was very focused on small faint signals in the the tall grass. The grass was up over my knees so it was a truly a needle in the haystack type of scenario. I moved the pile of branches thinking that if the earring came out, there would be a good chance it fell to the ground when she was bending over to pile the branches up. Sure enough, my theory was correct and only after about a 30 minute search, I found the earring! Thanks Kirsten for reaching out and very happy I was able to help!
