Lost Gold Ring Found in Webberville Michigan

Hide-and-Seek….

…..was the last outside game being played into the night of July 4th, and as Jackie, her son along with other family members were finally found, upon entering the house, her husband noticed his wedding ring missing. Frantically searching the yard to no avail left them wondering where it went. With her husband having to be away from home the next day Jackie and I agreed to meet and search for the ring. Quickly grid searching the areas with my MXT metal detector I got a few junk signals. As I started to close in on a certain section, I got a good signal below a clump of grass. Pinpointing the signal, I reached down and moved the clump of grass out of the way and yelled out hide-seek-found! Jackie and her son came running over to the spot and couldn’t believe the ring was where it was! Putting the headphones on her son and letting him sweep over the ring with the metal detector left a thrilled expression on his face as he verified that it was his dad’s ring! Hopefully this left a great impression on him to someday take an interest in seeking out hidden treasure!

Family Heirloom, lost ring Navarre – FOUND!!!

This weekend was the Blue Angels show so I assumed that Sunday morning I would have a lost ring call from Pensacola Beach.  In reality, the call came from Stefanie, just down the road in Navarre.  When I spoke to Stefanie, I immediately knew that I had to go look for this ring and when I hung up I looked over at my wife Jeannie and she said “I want to go with you”.  It’s always a good sign when my lucky charm wants to go so I started getting excited as I packed up my gear.  When we got to Navarre, we quickly parked and headed to the beach.  As we walked along on the sand, I saw a woman waving at me about 100yds away.  When we got to her she explained that her name was Nicole and she was the actual owner of the ring.  She had Stefanie call because she was too upset to talk when she lost it.  As we walked over to the rest of her family she explained that her mother received this ring 65 years ago and had left it to Nicole when she passed away 14 years earlier.  Nicole was actually raised by her Grandparents and refers to them as her mother and father. It made it even more important because her Father, who was a Police Officer passed away in the line of duty seven years ago.  This ring was a symbol of the two of them and Nicole had every intention to pass it down to her oldest daughter, Josie who was also looking on expectantly as I prepared to hit the water.  Nicole had been knocked down by a wave a few hours before and when she came up from all fours in the shallow water, her precious family heirloom was no longer on her hand.  She had a good general idea where she was but with the tide coming in quickly and the waves getting bigger every minute, she was rightly concerned.  I told her that I would grid out the entire area and that if it was there, I would find it.  It only took about fifteen minutes before I heard a very deep signal up on the shelf before the sand drops down.  I happened to be right in front of Jeannie and she quickly started videoing for prosperity.  I made one deep scoop and looked down to see the beautiful diamond ring with so much history at the bottom of the scoop.  Nicole was a short way down the beach but I motioned to her that I had it.  She came over and in disbelief pulled out the ring and gave me a huge hug.  As Josie and Stefanie came over, I got to see the smiles and happy tears and once again be reminded why I do this.  Congratulations to you all, I am glad I got to be a part of the story for such an important part of your family’s history. Chaniyah contacted me about a lost ring at the beach. She had lost it while playing volleyball, and the sand swallowed it up. We agreed to meet as soon as we could get to the area to do the search.

I got to the beach a little ahead of Chaniyah, and saw that there were some people on the court in question. When she got there we went out to the court, and I asked if the players would be bothered if I looked around the outside of the court while they were playing, and they said it would be fine. What was real nice was that as I searched they decided to move to next court over which allowed me access to the whole area. It was a good thing because after about 10 minutes of searching inside the lines I found her ring. Chaniyah told me that her mother had given her that ring with special Biblical scripture engraved inside, so it meant a lot to have it back. Great smile!

Lost Tungsten Wedding Band at Nai’a Lagoon Ko Olina Resort…FOUND!!!

This ring find began on Thursday when I got a call from Elijah who is a United States Marine stationed on Okinawa and was on vacation in Hawaii to attend his brother’s wedding.  While playing volleyball with his Father in the dry sand of Nai’a Lagoon, Elijah’s Tungsten Wedding Band flew off and disappeared into the sand.  I was able to do a search on Friday but the Wedding Band didn’t show itself.  On Saturday morning I expanded the grid in every direction and finally found the band two grid lines further to the North.  I called Elijah with the great news and we met this AM at Ko Olina for the return.  Vacation is saved!  Aloha to Elijah!

Lost wedding ring in sand, Daytona Beach, Florida….Found!

Vincent and his wife Liz were here in Daytona Beach, Florida celebrating a special anniversary and enjoying a warm summer day at the beach. They decided to rent an umbrella, a beach chair and a small table from Glenn and Robin at Doc’s Beach Rental! Before going into the water Liz took her three rings off and put them in a small side pocket of her backpack and set it down on the sand next to the lawn chair. As they swam and enjoyed the water the tide was slowly coming up and getting close to Liz’s backpack so she decided to set the backpack on its side up on the small table. Of course not realizing that one of her precious rings had fallen out onto the wet sand. They swam awhile longer and then grabbed their towels, sandals and backpack and headed for their room to shower, change and get to the airport to catch their plane for home. After cleaning up and getting dressed Liz went to put her rings on and realized one of her rings was missing. They hurried down onto the beach and desperately searched for her ring and it was nowhere to be found. They asked the kind couple at Doc’s Beach Rentals to keep their eyes open just in case and with deep sadness in their hearts they headed to the airport! Later that day Vincent found theringfinders.com website and gave me a call. Again I always ask allot of questions to help me narrow down as close as possible where the missing ring is hiding. (And I always warn people to NOT post information about their lost item and its location on Facebook or Craigslist…UNTIL I have a chance to figure out all the details and have the opportunity to thoroughly search the area.).

The following day I made plans to search at low tide and I hoped to be able to meet the friendly couple who run Doc’s Beach Rentals and gather what information I could about the exact location and where they normally put out their beach chairs and umbrellas. Upon my arrival at the location I saw there were a few people swinging metal detectors right in the area where Vincent and Liz indicated she had lost her ring! I was stunned and soon learned that Liz had actually posted on Facebook what she had lost and where she lost it!!! I desperately hoped I was not too late and after talking to the rental personnel I decided to conduct my own search. As I walked towards the main target area I could see the drag marks and obvious indications that someone had searched this area already. So I went as close as possible to the first beach chair and umbrella and began my grid search and I had not walked 20 feet and BAM! A sharp, solid, shallow signal indicated a good target and as I slowly pushed the wet sand away I could see a beautiful white gold rim of a ring with little diamonds along the one side and there was Liz’s lost ring! Another miracle of how God allows a lost ring to be found and returned to its rightful owner!

Stunning lost gold wedding ring Found/recovered by RingFinder Ryan Cole @ Lake Maxinkuckee, Culver Indiana

Got tagged by a friend in a Facebook post, in regards to a woman posting that she had lost her wedding ring at « the beach » earlier in the week. I sent Jessica a link to my Ringfinders contact information and received a reply yesterday, four days after the loss. She gave my number to her husband, David, who called me to explain the events and location, etc. We spoke and currently had a window of good weather opportunity, I offered to come down and search immediately. They had posted a reward and said that at least four people had said they were going to search for it (they provided them with the suspected areas etc). David had borrowed a metal detector from a friend and tried searching for the ring, but said the detector never « found » anything in the water or on the beach (cheap detector). I let them know I wasn’t 100% my normal abilities, due to medical restriction from a few recent surgeries, but I would try searching within reason/etc. Pretty much everyone at the beach knew of the lost ring. David said Jessica was playing volleyball in the water, but was always facing towards shore when hitting the ball. I searched the dry sand where they had setup towels/etc, then moved to the water, it’s a rather shallow swim area. There were two little girls with masks on, the older of the two asked if I was looking for the lost ring, I said yes, she said they were both searching for it also, lol . Another little kid had actually found a ring earlier, or a couple days ago, gave it to the mother, who then showed David and Jessica the ring to see if it was theirs. Not being theirs, they told the lady to turn it in to the office lost n found, she said she would, then packed up her stuff to leave and walked right past the office and left. Anyhow, upon searching in the shallow water, I started seeing fresh dig craters, not a good sign. Targets were non existent, which is good and bad, but I kept looking in the zone. Found a pull tab and a couple quarters. Got somewhat worried that someone else had cleaned the place out. Nearing the far edge of where they said she had been, I got a strong signal of something likely laying on top of the sandy bottom. Scooping gently, then washing out the sand slowly, revealed one Massive chunker of a ring, loaded with diamonds. Wowzers! I wasn’t sure if it was the lost one or not, they only had a really poor photo of her ring that was provided to me, which made it look like very yellow gold and not the very white gold this one was. After getting back to my truck, I re-examined the photo they sent and could see the stones were indeed the same pattern/etc as the found one. They had gone to get dinner up the street. I sent them the photo of the ring and made their day!

Adonys contacted me hoping I could help in finding his wife’s lost engagement ring. She had been in the back yard throwing a ball when the ring came off. She knew when it happened, and the direction it came off, but in an instance it vanished. She and Adonys spent hours trying to find it with no ring. We arranged for me to come out the next day.

I arrived in the morning, and they led me out to the back yard which happened to be quite small. The problem was the grass, it was thick and tall except for the part Adonys had mowed which made me fear for the ring, thinking it might have been caught up by the mower, and ruined. I got my detector out, and began. Immediately I had a problem with interference, so I switched detectors to see if I could eliminate the static. That worked. I turned the detector on, swung twice, got a signal, put the pin pointer in and found the ring, all in about 15 seconds. They were flabbergasted that it was found so quickly, but very happy to see it again. Adonys had designed the ring himself to be crafted by a jeweler, so this was a special recovery for sure.

Silver and Meteorite Wedding Ring Lost at Zuma Beach…Found and Joyfully Returned.

I was contacted by Byron after he lost his wedding ring in the sand at the beach. He and his wife had been at the beach with friends when he noticed his ring missing. He let me know that they had performed an intense search, but were unable to find it. I let him know I was available, and could come right away.

When I got there Byron and his wife were waiting right where they believed the loss to have occurred. We talked about how he believed the ring came off, and where he believed it might be. Well he pointed to the middle of the area they had already searched, and that is where I began. I made a couple of passes, and the first sound I received was a bit off because he had told me it was silver. I had forgotten the meteorite part of the ring. I dug, and there it was, stuck to my magnet in the scoop because meteorites are iron, so they are magnetic. I held the ring out for Byron, and he was amazed that it was found right where they had searched. We use the best detectors available, so these rings find it hard to hide from us. He and his wife had only been married one year so this recovery was very special for them.

Lost Koa Inlaid Wedding Band at Queen’s Hospital West…FOUND!!!

This ring find began last night when I got a call from Doctor Javier.  He was sitting in the Hospital’s Garden Break area talking to his wife on his cellphone and tossing his ring back and forth between his hands.  Suddenly, one of the tosses was too strong and he thought he saw the ring travel to his left and disappear into the grass.  After a futile search he reached out to theringfinders and found me.  I agreed to meet him after work the next day to hunt for his ring.  Doctor Javier was waiting outside when I arrived and the break area was just a short walk from where I parked.  He described on location how the ring went missing and I started my search.  I could see some some sprinkler heads so there was going to be some target interference.  I decided to only pinpoint surface targets on the Nox as their were quite a few deeper targets coming thru.  After a thorough search of the area and no ring found I told Javier some piece of information is missing but since its a small area I was going to expand the grid to cover it all.  As I was going behind the tree I got a surface target tone and looked down.  Leaning against the tree’s trunk was Javier’s ring.  How in the world did it get back there when it should have been to Javier’s left side.  Looking at the chair our only answer was the ring had to of rolled down the back leg and behind the tree.  See the other chair for reference.  Acrobatic Tungsten ring!  All that matters is we had a successful recovery.  Aloha to Doctor Javier!

Lost Wedding Ring in the Sand, Holgate NJ, LBI, recovered by Edward Trapper NJ Ring Finder

Sarah called about her wedding ring she lost in the sand. She was down on Holgate beach in LBI NJ when they dropped out of her pocket after removing her phone. She found 2, but one was no where to be found. It worked out good as I was on my way over to LBI doing another recovery. I called when I was done and we met on the beach.  We talked a bit going over the details of where it was lost, and the makeup of the ring, so I would know what signal to listen for. In just a few short swings I got a signal, exactly where she showed me. I didn’t think it would be her ring because she said hers was gold, and this was a much lower tone. I was expecting foil, but after the sand emptied out, much to my surprise there was a ring in the bottom of my scoop. We confirmed the shape and diamond pattern, and bingo, this was her ring.
