Lost Gold & Turquoise 25th Anniversary Ring at Honu Lagoon Ko Olina Resort…FOUND!!!

This ring find began when I got a call from Paul from Temecula, California and was celebrating his 25th Anniversary at the Ko Olina Resort.  Paul told me he was standing in knee deep water as his wife was taking his picture and a wave hit him and the 25th Anniversary Gold & Turquoise Ring, his wife had just given him, fell off into the shallow water and disappeared in the soft sand.  After trying unsuccessfully, the resort security gave him my number for the recovery.  I agreed to meet him that evening as I had a scuba dive hunt the next morning in a different lagoon.  When I arrived, Paul took me down to the shoreline to show me the area to hunt.  On the third leg of the grid in knee deep water I got a nice zinc penny tone on the Manticore but low and behold it was Paul’s amazing ring.  Anniversary saved!  Aloha to Paul!

Lost diamond ring while hand feeding tarpons

This was one of my most interesting recoveries to date.  I received a call from a woman who was down on vacation and went to Robbie’s in the Florida Keys.  It’s a tourist destination and marina.  They have a section where you can feed the tarpon.  You can actually see them in some of the photos circling around me.  She had lost her ring while feeding the fish. They jump out of the water and take the fish right out of your had.  The ring was there for a couple days. I knew it was gonna be a hard recovery because that marina has been there forever and I’m sure there was 50 years worth of garbage there. But after about two hours, I was able to find it.  It made for some great pictures.

Lost Cartier Promise ring in Crescent Lake, Florida…Found by Mike McInroe, Florida Ring Finder.

I received a call from a young lady named Joy who had dropped her Cartier ring off of a dock and needed some special help. The water at the end of the dock was just over 7 feet deep and there was no way she nor her father could hold their breath and dive down and attempt to recover her ring. Thoughts raced through her mind that maybe a fish picked it up and swam off with it or maybe the current pushed it way under the dock or it sunk down into the silty lake bottom to stay hidden forever…forever lost! Later that evening Joy went online to search for « Underwater metal detecting service » and came across theringfinders.com website and decided to give me a call. She and her parents were checking out of the Airbnb the next morning by 11:00am so I made arrangements to meet her at 8:30am the following morning and I was hoping and praying I would be able to recover her lost ring before they had to leave.

The next morning I arrived and set up my Blu3 Nemo dive system and used a PVC pole to mark the spot where Joy said she saw the splash where her ring hit the water. The bottom of the lake was sandy and smooth but the visibility was only a foot or so and as I descended down the pole I immediately got a strong signal! It was a 2.5 pound weight used for weight lifting so I left it there and continued searching. I covered the whole area, digging up sinkers and screws and pieces of aluminum and bottle tops, a knife/pliers, etc. After 40 minutes I was beginning to wonder if maybe Joy was mistaken about exactly where her ring fell into the water! I decided to go back and recheck all the larger deeper targets and I began at the PVC pole with the 2.5 weight and as I lifted it up to put it into my pouch I received a quiet signal just to the side of where the weight was. I ran my fingers through the sand and felt something round and ring like…and there it was…just inches away from the PVC pole marker!! As I surfaced I held my hand up with her ring on my little finger and Joy’s face was in shock and she was stunned. She told me later that she was starting to give up hope and then I came out of the water with her precious lost ring! How I thank God for allowing me to find Joy’s lost ring and be a blessing to her in her time of need.

Intentionally Lost Ring Found in Lebanon, TN

A client in Lebanon, TN called me on 09-18-2025 after finding my information on TheRingFinder website. His wife was upset this morning and threw her white gold with a diamond wedding ring in their very expansive back yard. I made the 45 minute drive and arrived within an hour of his call. Without getting into the details of the reason for his wife throwing the ring, I only asked where she was standing when she threw the ring, what direction she threw it and how hard she threw it. The client pointed out and approximate 30’ by 30’ area of the grassy yard. He also said he had scanned over the same 30’ by 30’ area with a cheap metal detector, which was evident by the countless clumps of grass that he had uprooted after getting a signal on that cheap metal detector he was using.

After about 30 minutes I located the gorgeous ring in the 4” tall grass. It was in fact with the 30’ by 30’ area the client said it would be in. The client was very grateful that the ring was recovered, but it goes without saying that neither the client or his wife wanted their picture taken with the ring.

Lost Gold Engagement Ring Recovered, Cherry Beach, Lakeside Michigan

Hannah was enjoying the fantastic mid-September day at a nice little beach, here in SW Michigan. Sun out, 80 degrees, calm East breeze, water still over 70 degrees, excellent for this time of year.
All was well, she nestled her engagement ring in her T-shirt, on her beach towel, so not to risk losing it in the water. However, when it was time to go, she gathered things up, flipped the towel, having forgot about her hidden treasure.
Out flew the two month old ring, into the dry sand, somewhere nearby.
She tried scouring around, looking with no luck. She tested some rocks, dropped on the sand, only to see that they quickly vanish upon landing in the soft sand.
I was at another beach, preparing to go detecting in the water, moments away from heading out, when I heard my phone alert. Opted to check that and it was Hannah asking if I’d be available to hire.
Shifted gears, drove up the coast 15 minutes and headed out on the dry sand to where she thought she had been. With a little help from a nice lady who overheard us talking, she said Hannah had been about 20 feet further North. Within about ten seconds, got a nice signal, deployed the pinpointer and quickly observed a ring show itself for a brief moment. Reached down and had her nice ring, ready to go back where it belonged.

Belmont, Dennis Port, MA Lost Ring Found and Returned

On August 18th Joey and his two little “ducklings” were frolicking around the waters edge when what so often happens, a wedding ring slipped off a finger into the shallow water of Nantucket Sound. Joey, the ducklings and other family members searched for the next two days before heir vacation time came to an end and they had to leave, abandoning their search and the ring in the sand. 3 weeks later Tana, Joey’s mother, came to the Cape for a visit. Over the next two weeks she, other family members and friends continued to search the area in hopes of reuniting the ring with its owner. That was not to be.

Joey’s mother, still had a few extra days before having to leave the Cape. During the time she and several of her friends brought up the subject of the missing ring and one friend offered up the information of TheRingFinders.com. As other suggestions had failed, Tana reached out to me for help.

I was a bit stressed out about my situation of buying and selling a house, and would have to fit in time for a recovery search. A look at the tide chart and I could fit a couple of hours in at 7AM the next morning. All was set until my Realtor and I finished up our afternoon commitments and I could make a search just before the evening tide. It was possible for Tana to meet me a the beach and I was on the way.

With my detector and scoop in hand, Tana and I walked to the area that the ring was lost at. The most likely area of the loss was pointed out to me: lifeguard chair, either side about 10 feet and straight down, into the water and out to no more than knee deep. An hour of searching and not one good signal, Then a solid signal from my detector that did not sound like a gold ring should but I had to dig it anyway. As I thought, it was not a ring but a toy truck. By this time I had widen the area I was searching. The sun had set and in the dark it was difficult to keep a tight grid pattern. It was time to call it quits until the morning’s tide.

Just before leaving the water’s edge I took one more look at the pictures Tana had shown me. There was one picture that showed nice flat sandy area with the two “ducklings” playing on it. I looked to the west into an area I had not searched yet and saw the exact same conditions, it was a bit further west than I had been told where the ring was lost. “One more pass” I told Tana, took two steps and got a signal. “Tana, your son’s ring is right there“… with nothing but wet sand for Tana to look at, I took one scoop of sand turned it over on the dryer sand. A after a couple of passing of Tana’s hand through the mound of sand, it came into view, yes, there was her son’s ring.

Pictures, information and a few metal detecting stories passed away a few more minutes before we parted with a promise to exchange the photos we had taken. One was for me to learn how to turn on my camera’s flash function. And another to have Joey leave his ring in a safe place in the

future when he visits the beach. Unfortunately it would still be a few days before the ring will be returned to Joey. I hope to meet Joey on his next trip to the shores of Cape Cod to get a photo of him with a smile and holding his ring.

Gold Wedding Ring Lost in the Sand at Manhattan Beach…Found and Happily Returned.

It was around 5:30 PM, and my wife was preparing our dinner when I received a call from Chris. He had Just lost his wedding ring about 30 minutes ago while throwing a football to his friend, and was unable to find it. He was wondering if I would be able to help. I let him know that I could be there in about 30 -40 minutes to do the search so I asked my wife to put the meal on hold, and left for the beach to help Chris.

When I got there it didn’t take long to find them, and Chris’ buddy took me over to show me where the loss occurred. Chris came over to show me exactly what he had done to cause the loss. and I readied my equipment to begin the search. I searched the whole area in a tight grid with no results for his ring. I did find a ring though, and a couple of earrings, some coins and a lot of trash metal. I then worked out of the box, and widened the search area in order to cover any possibility; still no ring. I then told Chris I was going to do a cross grid in order to make sure that maybe the ring was turned in such a way, it wasn’t heard by my detector going in the other direction. After about 5 passes, I received a solid signal, dug and had his ring in the scoop. I brought it over to him to his surprise, and happiness. Sometimes a ring will go into the sand a such an angle that it is indiscernible going in one direction, you have to search at a right angle to the original direction to make the find. Just a little patience and determination is what it takes. It was about 8:00 PM when the recovery was made. So I got on the phone, and asked my wife to heat up our dinner, as I would be home soon. I am glad she is so understanding.

Lost Gold Claddagh Wedding Band at Castle Beach Kailua…FOUND!!!

This ring find began late last night when I got a text from Matthew from Kailua.  Since the yellow Gold Claddagh Wedding Ring was in the dry sand I called Matthew in order to meet up first thing the next morning as that beach gets detected heavily.  We agreed to meet at Matthew’s home then put the gear in his vehicle so parking wouldn’t be an issue.  Matthew told me he had put his ring in his shirt pocket so he wouldn’t lose it in the water swimming.  He didn’t notice it missing until he arrived home and realized it had fallen out of the pocket.  When we arrived on the scene, Matthew drew a grid for me in the sand to hunt.  Turned on the Manticore, noise cancelled, then started the hunt.  First target « BOOM »  Matthew’s ring.  Elapsed time 15 seconds.  Aloha to Matthew and his son Thomas.

Lost Tungsten Wedding Ring in the Grass, Spokane Valley WA…Found!!

Milo had started a walk with his two dogs. Nurture called for one of them as the other took off into the field of the school. Keeping his eyes on the second dog, Milo had retrieved a doodoo bag from his pocket. While picking up the dog’s deposit, the ring Milo had placed in his pocket took a swan dive into the grass. There was now a void in his pocket where the ring had been sitting. Milo being constantly aware of the item in his pocket felt this void. The fun was over for the trio. Milo had a new mission. Finding his wedding ring was now on the agenda. After combing the grass with the search pattern, he learned in boy scouts, the ring eluded his eyes. Although the eyes can’t see the ring, the metal detector knows it’s there. Milo knew what he needed to do. Calling a Ring Finder was the solution to his problem. With almost an hour drive away from the ring, I got ready and headed to the school. There was little time wasted when we met up and went over how the ring was lost. I inquired about where he pulled the bag out of his pocket. Milo put me on the path he walked. Just as I passed by the ring, Milo told me to turn around and check the far edge of the path. This 180-degree turn put me right on top of the ring. The detector lit up with a 16 signal and it showed one arrow of depth. I knew the ring would fall in the 12-20 range because I had tested out 4 of the rings I have, before I started his ring search. My pin pointer buzzed in the patch of grass and Milo and I, pulled back the blades to reveal his ring. With the quick search over in a blink of an eye, the ring Milo had lost had found its way back to his hand. The paths we take may be long and full of challenges but when you find a friend to help you out, no problem you encounter will stop your trip.
