Bike Key Missing on beach. Found on Cape Cod. One return leads to another.

The Key to Success.

A few days ago I was asked to help recover a ring that was possibly dropped as leaving the beach. Richard Browne a ring finder and myself grid the area to no avail. While searching for the ring I found a key with a tag that looked like it went to a bike lock of some sorts. I didn’t think much of it, till Rick waved me over. He was chatting with Pierre that was on his bike, and he was asking if we had found a key that he had been there searching for it the day before. I told him yes, that I had found a key and sure enough it fit perfectly into his bike lock. Great to save all objects when you can. Un expected return.

Family Crest Ring Reunited. 21rst Birthday Present Ring Reunited

Got a call from Luke Barube last night, he is also a Ring Finder. After getting home from finding a ring for someone yesterday, he received another call about a family crest ring lost, because it was so far away he called me in on it. I asked Luke to pass my info along to him.
Later that evening, I received a call from Andy, who said he had lost his 14K yellow Gold family crest ring, it happened about a month earlier in chest deep water, while playing with his dog.
I told him that there is no guarantee, but I will give it a heck of a try. Andy also said it was a Birthday present for turning 21. We walked down to the beach a few blocks away. I asked him to walk out to the area, stop and turn around, that I would walk out to him. I turned on my detector, and walked two feet while swinging, and my very first signal turned out was his family crest ring staring up at me in my scoop. It was very deep, even after a month in the saltwater. I motioned to him to come over, and he just couldn’t believe I had it already, or that I had found it at all. This is why we do what we do. After a few woo hoo’s and fist pumps, we walked back to the cottage and he yelled to his wife Dianne “We got it” her response was that’s just incredible. Congratulations. Andy said he has a real Treasure story to tell at the BBQ this weekend. I told him he’ll be a hit. Glad it back where it belongs.
Sincerely  Leighton,

50 Years of Marriage. Wedding Band found in bushes (lost,Found,Reunited)

50 Years of Marriage.

Upon getting in from detecting I got a call from a gentleman named Jim that lived very close to me. He proceeded to tell me how he had lost his wedding band a few days earlier. He said he tripped down a few stairs and landed in some Pachysandra plants. His wife of over 50 years their neighbors all searched for it a few times to no avail. I told him I’ll come rite over and have a look. Never any guaranty but let’s give it a try.

When I got there we walked across the street to the neighbors house as he talked about it and that it’s very sentimental to him and his wife Kathy and worth around $4,000.00 to replace it. It was a very small area to search. I only had one signal, and It was a nail, Grrr… we were running out of real-estate fast, but I told him not to give up till he sees me get into my truck and leave. I looked around the corner of the house close to that small patch, and noticed a broken Hydrangea plant stem. He hit it and broke it with his arm when he fell, I spread the bush apart and laying at the bottom of the plant on the lowest stem possible hanging from it was his beautiful wedding band that had two rows of 5 diamonds. No pinpointed needed. I asked him how much does he like me?  He started to cry immediately, he knew I had found it. After a few moments he caught his breath enough to Thank me, I said It was absolutely my pleasure, and was so glad he has it back on that finger. Happy Anniversary my friend.

Sincerely Leighton

Puzzle Ring Returned Mass

Today I was called to my home town to help relocate a lost ring, it had been on Mikes finger since 1971. He purchased the ring while in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.  It was a beautiful 6 band 18 k Yellow Gold Puzzle Ring.  He was working in the yard, doing his annual Fall raking, when at the end of the day, he noticed it was missing.  Desperate to get it back, He googled Lost Ring and my name showed up, he gave me a call in hopes that I could somehow help find it in amongst multiple bags of leaves. I got his info and left immediately,  When I arrived at Mikes place, I had him dump each bag on top of the tarp one at a time.  Still no luck, moving into the yard I gridded the yard slowly, and again no luck.  Almost ready to call it a day, I asked one last question about the trash can and did he use it. Yes he replied, that he had removed his gloves and put them on top of it.  I walked over and swung once,  and that familiar low tone rang louder than ever, there it was staring up at me.  I had Mike come look at it, and he ran and tripped up the stairs yelling for his wife to come out and have a look.  She said I had that look on my face like I found it.  Lol.   I said yes I did.  After a few pictures and lots great stories, I was invited to take a ride in his private plane, and you bet I will take him up on it.  Congratulations Mike, on that special ring.

Rose Gold 14k Gold Band lost & Found in Eastham mass

Rick, Jim, & Myself we’re out searching for recent drops today in our local ponds. Rick’s wife Jayne called my phone and left an Urgent message for us to return a call that she had just received, saying that we were recommended, by a local Metal-Detecting shop on Cape Cod, to help find a Wedding Band that was lost about an hour earlier on a beach. I called back immediately and Jessica picked up the phone, she proceeded saying that they were all down on the beach earlier, and that a friend of hers named Louis, had dropped his wedding band in the dry sand, they were wondering if we could help find it. I said yes but no guarantees. They were not to familiar with the area, and wasn’t sure what parking lot they were in.  I told them to meet us there in an hour.  We all jumped in the truck and headed down 25 miles away an got there earlier than expected, we met Lewis and Anton after about a 15 wait. Glad we waited for them to show up, as we were walking down the path and got onto the beach, Louis had mentioned that he put a stick down into the sand, where he thought he had dropped it. I asked him to please stand exactly where he thought it fell and not to move, I then proceeded to turn on my machine and took less than five seconds to receive my first signal, that just happened to be his beautiful 14 karat Rose Gold Wedding Band.  We were all very happy to see it back on his finger that quickly.  That’s where it belongs. Louis actually said incredible, just incredible we were all looking for over an hour on our hands snd knees to no avail.   We were glad that Jessica called the Ring Finders.

14k Rose Gold Band

Cahoon Hollow, Wellfleet Mass Handed Down Lost 14 K Gold Engagement Ring / Wedding Band

Kiera called me yesterday, with a little doubt in her voice, about a ring that was lost by her sister in the surf.  Kiera’s sister Julia had just lost her engagement ring at the beachcomber, at Cahoon Hollow Beach, in Wellfleet, MA she said it was down in the surf where she was dragged out over the rocks, she got swept up, and pummeled in the current, and suddenly realized her ring was gone. They looked for over an hour as the surf was crashing them all over the area. Frantically they were not sure where to turn. Kiera said that the Lifeguard had mentioned that there were a couple of local guys that have found rings there in the past, that she should try them. Sure enough she googled Lost Ring and Richard Browne and My name showed up. Kiera wasted no time and got in touch with me through texting. I immediately called her back, I had her send as many pictures with reference points as possible. She said it was strait down from the sign in the picture, and in knee deep water.

Luck was on her side the next day, the water was not crashing as it was the day of loosing it, and the wind was off shore. Rick & myself got there about an hour before the low tide, 15 seconds into the hunt, I found the beautiful double welded ring, I put it in my pouch for safe keeping till Julia showed up. Needless to say we were all smiles when they showed up, she was very happy to hear that we were successful in recovering it for her. It was a ring that was passed down through a couple of generations. No words can express their heartfelt Thank You. Another great recovery for The Ring Finders.   Julia & Leighton

Never Ever Give Up ! Falmouth, Cape Cod Mass Engagement Ring

White Gold Engagement Ring

Two weeks ago Rick got a call from Jill, we got together the very early next morning. There was a Hurricane coming that next evening, and time wasn’t on our side. Together we do searches, for quite a few people each year. we really wanted to get this one back to the owner fast, she was newly engaged. This Engagement Ring is very sentimental to Jill. Well after chatting with Jill about where it was lost, and how deep of water, and being hit by a wave, she swore it was just rite there in shallow water on the slope. After 6 hours of search time between both of us, we finally gave in to the thought of it not being found that day… Maybe after the storm? We had also had thoughts of someone else finding it the night before, we had seen some scoop areas on the beach. We had also found out it was posted on local media. Was it found already?

10K White Gold Ring

Rick called me last night two weeks had passed, Rick said lets give it another chance. Success today? Rick and I went rite down to the same spot where we were told it was lost two weeks earlier…. Nothing again after an hour. I said this is crazy, so I wandered over the other side of the Jetty, and as soon as I got into the water,  50 feet down the beach, and knee deep just as Jill said, one lonely signal and there in my scoop it shined like it was lost an hour ago. Wow I couldn’t believe it myself. I went back over  to Rick, yelled Game Over! He said what? I repeated it multiple times till he came out of the water, he looked down at my Caribiner. He said I cant believe you found it way over there… I chuckled, and said it was exactly where Jill said it wasn’t… LOL    After getting back to the truck we called Jill, and I told her I may have something that belonged to her, she asked if I had it… I said yes I believe so, and said can you meet us at the beach. Her reply was I’m on my way, see you in fifteen minutes. As you can imagine, she just couldn’t believe it until it was back on her finger. Sometimes, a Margarita girls night out can make you forget exactly where it was when you last seen it… Bottom line is that it’s back home where it belongs… Congratulations Jill

Lost Wedding Band Over The Fence Dennis / Yarmouth Cape Cod Mass

Cape Cod Ring Finders

Leighton Harrington & Richard Browne

On Saturday 8/14/2021 Richard Browne and I were out looking for a wedding band and returned it successfully to its owner. When we returned, we had another call to go out on, and it was a lost wedding band that the woman had on her finger since 1965. Very sentimental as one could expect. It was lost while playing ball in the back yard with her Grandson the day before. Rick & myself got there to be greeted by Roberto, His Wife Jaclyn and Ryan, who was there while it was lost. Ryan a small Pirate in his own special way, was very enthused, and very into metal detecting helped out with the search. After about 45 minutes, and all of us on our hands and knees with pin pointers searching the flower beds, I had the notion to check over the other side of the fence, hey you never know rite? Maybe she throws harder than we think. Luck would be in our favor, low and behold the ring was rite on top of the grass, and on the other side of the fence… Another great save and one for the Ring Finders. A great three ring return day yesterday. What a great feeling to tell someone that we have it in our hands and we can’t wait to get it back.

Rick Browne of the Ring Finders called early and asked if I wanted to help him locate a Gold Chain lost in dry sand the day before. I jumped at the opportunity to help out. We arrived and found Alec at the parking lot waiting for us and we followed him to the area.  I asked Lindy his young daughter to stand where she thought she may have lost it, and upon my very first swing with my detector, I got a very familiar tone.  5 second hunt literally, Rick barely had time to turn his on.  It’s all in fun, this is what makes our hobby a great one. Returns of this nature are very special. This young lady will always remember this I’m sure.  I asked if she will wear it to the beach ever again. Lindy’s reply was NO.

This young man lost a very special silver pendant at Jericho Beach, three days later he reaches out for help. We made arrangements to meet at the beach unfortunately it would have to be after I finished work, so we set up a time for 1:30 AM to search for the silver pendant.

After meeting Vinny and his sister and her boyfriend in the early hours of the morning we walked along the beach to the area where he lost his pendant. After removing a lot of trash in the area I begin my search for almost two hours, after cleaning out all the target signals except for one big iron target, I decided to move all the sand away from the Iron and that was a good thing as Murphy’s Law would have it… I found his pendant which was right on top of the iron target.

Close to 3:30 AM I was able to surprise Vinny with his cherished silver pendant…
