Lost 14k white gold heirloom ring returned! TRF Celina, Ohio

  • from Celina (Ohio, United States)

Andrew’s mother was very happy to receive this lost 14k white gold heirloom ring on behalf of her son who was beside himself when he lost it.

Andrew’s mother (Ann) contacted me recently in the hopes that a lost 14k white gold heirloom ring could be found. Andrew had lost the ring during an outside gym class session on some practice fields that amounted to the area of about 1-1/2 football fields.

That’s a lot of area to cover when you’re looking for an item about the size of a nickel. Obviously, an area like this is easier to cover and able to be covered very methodically if you can get a couple of people working a grid pattern. I contacted a friend (Travis) and we headed out to try and locate the ring. After about 4-1/2 hours of searching with no ring to show and a storm blowing in we made plans to come back another day to finish covering the area in hopes of being able to reunite the owner with their lost ring.

Andrew was very close with his grandmother and the ring had been passed down to him when his grandmother passed away in December. He wore the ring on his pinky finger to feel close to his grandmother. We knew he was very sad to have lost the ring and that it was such a sentimental item that we were trying to do everything we could to cover the area and locate his missing ring.

We made a return trip to finish covering the area and hopefully recover his missing ring for him. After a little over an hour of searching, we (Travis and I) were able to locate the ring!

We messaged Andrew right away! Unfortunately, Andrew was out of town and was unable to be there for a photo and to take possession of his ring. He did however call his mother, who was more than happy to come down and accept the ring on his behalf! Knowing that there had been more than two dozen people walking around trying to locate the item prior to us searching, and numerous sports practice sessions, Andrew’s mother thought that it was a miracle that we were even able to locate his ring. She had warned him that wearing his grandmother’s ring could result in it being lost, as was the case, but it has now been located and returned to it’s rightful owner! It has been put up so that this sentimental family heirloom will not be lost again. A needle in a haystack really can be found! Another ring returned, another successful search thanks to teamwork, and another happy ending! We were very glad to see the ring turn up and to see it returned!

On a side note Andrew was very glad to have found TheRingFinders service online and says he would recommend the service to anyone!

Lost wedding ring in grass, Longwood, Florida….found with a metal detector!

Marybeth was playing with her children in the back yard throwing water balloons and as she raised her hand to catch one that was thrown in her direction it hit her in the left palm just right and knocked her precious wedding ring right off of her finger. She actually felt her ring come off and immediately she began to look in the grass around her. Unfortunately the type of grass was our famous St. Augustine grass that is super thick and is known to swallow up rings and the like!
She spent a few hours on her hands and knees looking and feeling through the grass desperately hoping to find her lost ring. Realizing the futility of trying to spot it with her eyes she began thinking that maybe a metal detector would be the proper tool for the job. Her first thought was to see if there was somewhere that would rent her a metal detector for the day and after typing « Metal Detector Rental » on her phone….up popped « theringfinders.com » website and one of my stories!
Later that day I met Marybeth and she showed me the exact spot where she was standing and it only took a few swings of my Garrett AT Max metal detector and Bingo!!! What a privilege it was to help Marybeth find her lost ring!

Lost wedding ring in the grass, Orlando, Florida….Found and Returned to owner!

I received a call from Scott asking if I could help find his lost wedding ring in his front yard! I asked him the usual questions like…When did he lose it? How did it happen? and Did he have a good idea of the exact area where he lost it? And all of the answers that Scott gave me indicated that his lost wedding ring should not be very difficult to find.

Armed with that information and my trusty Garrett, ATMax metal detector I headed for Orlando with high hopes. Made me think of how many people have lost rings, earrings and necklaces while playing with their favorite pet! Sometimes they are able to find their lost item and at other times the grass or sand swallows their personal treasure, never to be seen again.

Scott on the other hand was very sure of the exact spot where he was when he felt his ring come off. So I began my grid search just wide of the area he indicated and it took only 5 minutes to get the solid, shallow signal I was looking for. And Scott was thrilled to get his lost wedding ring back and I was honored and thankful to have been given the opportunity to help him!

Lost something recently or years ago…maybe I can help. Call, leave a message or text me ASAP! I would be honored to help you.

West Yarmouth, Cape Cod, MA Lost Wedding Band Found and Returned

  • from Cape Cod (Massachusetts, United States)

September 5, 2021

The last of the beach cleanups were in progress and all went well. The docks were in, the boats as well. It was now time for a relaxing cool off in the lake. As it usually happened when one has weight changes their ring does not resize to echo the body’s change. Then it happens, the ring slips off and disappears underwater and down into the sand, not to be seen without help.

The three, Jim, Joe, and Jeff all knew they would need help in finding Jim’s wedding band. Several calls to friends for a detector that would not self-destruct when used underwater did not produce such a detector. A call to the local Metal Detector Dealer (Eleanor at J&E Enterprise) gave the threesome a lead. They should make a local call to Rick Browne – one of TheRingFinders and Jeff did. I answered the call and set a noon meeting time for the next day as it was almost dark. All was set yet, the night would have some anxious moments.

Leighton and I showed up a bit early as our earlier Ring Return only took a few minutes to complete.
A quick overview of the area were the loss occurred and we were into the water to search for the ring. A few coin and a bullet gave us hope. After about a minute and a half I had a very good sounding signal and yes a very large circular piece of gold was in the bottom of my scoop. I walked it in and let Jim remove his ring, untouched since it has slipped from his finger. Ring Return number two for the morning had been accomplished.

Many thanks, pictures, stories and a lot of history of the local private pond and resort area. The thrill, history, meeting new and now friends and helping others is the most wonderful part of our hobby. Leighton and I work well together, having the same ethics and desires to reunite a lost object with the owner. September 5th was another of those rewarding days we enjoy so much.

Lost ring in Lake Conway, Orlando, Fl….Found!

  • from Sanford (Florida, United States)

Rocco was enjoying the afternoon boating and swimming on Lake Conway with friends when he realized his special designed gold and diamond ring was no longer on his finger. Very few rings match the unique design with so many stunning diamonds and the sheer weight of the ring is very impressive! And it was a couple of factors that caused the ring to disappear into the sandy lake bottom. The first thing was the coolness of the water! As most people know there is shrinking in our hands and fingers when we expose them to cool or cold water. The second thing is activity of some kind! Rocco and his friends were horse playing around and that sort of thing has caused many a ring to end up lost and never to be found again. The third thing was the sheer weight of the ring! A mere flip of his hand in cool, wet water would have been enough to send his ring flying. So when Rocco realized his ring had come off he knew right away who he needed to call. Theringfinders.com! You see…this is not the first time Rocco had lost his ring! In 2020 Rocco was shocked when he felt his ring go flying into the darkness when he threw open the lid on the dumpster behind his apartment. Thankfully he go in touch with me and I was able to find his stunning ring hiding under a large bush. But this time it was in the water…in the middle of a lake! I encouraged Rocco to drop a full can of soda or beer or an anchor, or water bottle…anything that could mark the exact spot. Also if there was a way to tie a floatation device of some kind that would help make it easier to locate. Unfortunately they left a buoy tied to an anchor and someone later that evening came along and pulled it up. As the sun was rising the next morning I was paddling out onto the lake straining my eyes to find that buoy and it was nowhere in sight! Fortunately the water over the sand bar was crystal clear and I could easily see the bottom. So I decided to paddle all across the sandbar, gridding my way looking for anything that would indicate where the anchor was left. After an hour of going back and forth I did find a few items on the bottom. A red cup, a face mask and pieces of paper here and there….and then I spotted a water bottle laying on the bottom. It looked like an older bottle and at first I did not think it had anything to do with the ring…but it was the only water bottle I saw during my search. I finally decided to mark the bottle with one of my pvc poles and later came back to it and put out 4 pvc poles in a square around the bottle. I jumped into the water and started grid searching back and forth between the poles. My first pass netted me a bottle cap and a pull tab and as I turned to make a second pass I got a clear signal and BOOM! There was Rocco’s beautiful ring…sparkling and shining in the morning sun and I thanked God for allowing me to find his lost ring so soon! You talk about being amazed and thankful…I was one very happy Ring Finder!

I received a text message from a young lady who said she lost her engagement ring in the water at Trout Lake, this lake was only 20 minutes from my location and I just got off of work so I went to meet her at the lake. When we met at the lake it was just after 9 PM and it was the longest day of the year so I knew if I got in the water quickly I’d be able to record this search with the light we had left. I also decided to take a silver ring with me as I knew her ring was silver with gold,  just a fake her out when I did find it. She went on to tell me it was in waist deep water and she only lost it one hour before I got there so I was very confident this ring would be found quickly.

I asked her how she heard about TheRingFinders and she told me the lifeguards gave her the number… I got into the water and within 20 minutes I found her beautiful custom Silver & Gold engagement ring. I faked her out with my silver ring and then presented her with her ring, I love surprising people and seeing the reaction!
