Property Markers Found – Little River SC

  • from North Myrtle Beach (South Carolina, United States)

One of my neighbors, Linda, asked me if I could possibly find 3 property markers on her daughter’s property in a different neighborhood development. She said she wanted to install a small shed next to the house but wanted to ensure she was within her property boundaries. I agreed to go out the next day and see what I could do. Luckily, Linda gave me a property plat map showing the distance between the markers. She said one of the rear markers was sticking up above the ground and I should be able to find it. Shortly after I arrived, I found the rear marker which was no more than 2 ft from the rear corner of the house.  I measured off the 47 ft to the front marker. There was nothing else to go by on the map plat, like the location of the house. So, I had the distance from the back marker but didn’t know the direction of the property line. I tried using my Fisher’s Gold Bug but there were 2 water meters, within 6 inches of each other and each one was installed inside a metal box buried in the ground. Needless to say, both my detector and pin pointer were absolutely useless. So after a good hour and a half of using my digging knife to probe under the grass I finally found the marker. The county had put the water meter boxes on each side of the marker with one box less than 2 inches from the marker rod.  When I first hit the rod with the knife, I thought I was hitting the metal box. One marker down, 2 to go. I went back to the back marker and measured off the 73.9 ft across the back of the house.  Again, I didn’t know where the property line went, but at no point was it more than a foot off the back of the house. So this measurement ended up right in the middle of the power and the cable boxes and the wires that went with them on both sides of where the marker should be. I still couldn’t use the detector or the pin pointer and had to use the knife to probe. I had to be a lot more careful because I didn’t want to stab or cut a wire, especially the power wire. I made a joke asking Linda if she knew CPR just in case, she replied “No.” After about another hour, I called it a day and told Linda I’d be back.

A couple of days later I went back determined to find the 3rd marker without cutting Linda’s electricity or cable off and me getting electrocuted. I remeasured the distance and after about 30 minutes I found the marker rod within an inch from the power box. The 4th marker is somewhere under a huge bush about 8 ft in diameter. Linda has wanted to cut the bush down for a while so now she has a reason and will call me when it’s gone.

While I was there on the second trip, a neighbor, Delores came over and asked me if I’d mind finding one of her property markers. A different neighbor was having an issue with her about an area that needed to be cleaned in which he insisted was on her property. She said he was so adamant about it that he was going to the HOA. It took me about 5 minutes, after measuring, to find her marker. Needless to say, her neighbor will be very disappointed. While I was talking with Delores, she said that she was one of the first homeowners in the development 31 years ago. She said when the builders built the houses, they built 7 houses per acre, which explains why no one had a back or side yards.

Lost diamond wedding band Jericho beach… Found

11:15 PM I got a call from a young man whose wife lost a beautiful diamond ring at Jericho Beach while they were watching fireworks for Halloween. I could tell the panic in his voice and how much he wanted me to come out and search for it. The only problem was I was I was getting up at 5 AM to go to work and the beach is 40 minutes away from my home. After talking for five minutes I jumped in my car and headed to the beach to help them look for his wife’s diamond ring. I made it to the beach at 12:15 AM and met the young couple they show me the area where they believe the ring was lost, he told me he raced off to the store and bought a metal detector and search for it but could not find it. That’s OK because a lot of people buy or rent Metal Detector’s and don’t find their ring, the differences is I have 50 years of experience and know how to think out-of-the-box.

Well that being said after two hours of searching I could not find her ring??? I extended the search far and beyond the hot spot with no success, I asked more questions and found out later that there was a possibility when she took her gloves off at one part of the beach it may have come off then. We searched that area for a little bit but it was getting too late, I had to get home and get some sleep because I was working the next morning.

I got home shortly after 3 AM and got a couple hours asleep and went to work, I started thinking about the search and what I could do when I went back that evening. I contacted Martan and asked him if it was OK if I went back to research the area without them being there, he said absolutely!

After a 13 hour day at work with a little sleep, I headed straight out to the beach I re-searched the area with no luck then expand the search to where she believed the ring could’ve come off when she took off her gloves.  I searched there and that took almost an hour of searching with no luck!

I  went back to the hotspot and headed towards the water, this was the area that they told me the ring could not possibly be found because she was never in that area…. Guess what? you guessed! that’s where it was found. I always tell my members to think out-of-the-box we listen to our clients but we also have to listen to our hearts and our experience. I knew there was a ring there, I just had to go over to find it… I found it just before midnight and was able to meet up with them that evening and give it back. I was so excited to see that in my sand scoop! What a beautiful ring and that ring gets to go back to the young lady and that story gets to continue. I met such a lovely couple and I was so excited to be able to help them recover this beautiful ring.

I got a call from a young man he said his wife had lost her diamond engagement ring on the side of the road in the grass, where she was playing with her dog. He said she was out there for over three hours looking for it but could not find it, he was on disability from work so he could not go out and help her unfortunately, as much as he wanted to.

After talking to him I told him it would be better to wait until I got there and did my search the next morning,  I showed up the next morning at 10 AM and met his wife and she showed me the area she believed the ring was lost. The search area was bigger than expected because she wasn’t 100% sure where she was playing with her dog and it was a long stretch of sidewalk and grass. She did make a note of one house across the street that stuck out in her mind because of the brick fence.

After talking to her husband on the phone he explained to me that it would take a very long time for him to save up and buy her another ring like this one, so the pressure was on!

I started my search and because of the area it took almost 2 hours and 45 minutes to find her beautiful 3 carat diamond ring. I was so excited to see her ring because we were almost going to go to another area where the ring could’ve come off her finger along the walk, I know how important it is to do a north south east west grid search and exhaust the area and I did find it. I love my job! I love how it makes me feel and how it makes the people feel when I find that cherished keepsake! What a beautiful Ring!!!

Lost White 18K Gold Mens Wedding Band Found At Holts Landing State Park In Millville, Delaware

  • from Lewes (Delaware, United States)
Contact:

On 09/12/2021, I was contacted by Steven and he requested my help in locating his white 18K gold wedding band which he had lost in the water at Holts Landing State Park in Millville, Delaware. Steven said that he was in the water at low tide on his hands and knees digging up clams when he felt his wedding band slip off of his finger in the muddy bottom. I then agreed to meet Steven at the State Park to see if I could help him, but before I could attempt to help him I had to call the State Park Office to get permission to do the search. Upon contacting the state park office I was given permission to do the search. When I arrived at the state park I had Steven walk out into the water to give me an idea of how deep the water was in the area that he had lost his ring. At this point the tide had come in and the water was now up to Stevens chest. I told Steven that I would have the best chance of finding his ring at low tide and we agreed to meet at the state park on 09/13/2001 in the morning when it was low tide. I then re-contacted the state park office at which time they agreed to extend my permission to do the search on the following morning. On 09/13/2021 Steven and I met at the state park in order to look for his ring. Steven again walked out into the water in the area of where he had lost his ring and this time the tide was low and the water was just up to his knees. I had Steven remain out in the water so that I could use him as a reference point during the search. I began a grid search of the area working my way in towards the shore and after about ten minutes of searching I located the ring in about two feet of water. I then had Steven come over to the location of the ring at which time he reached down into the mud and did the honors of pulling his ring from the muddy bottom.

Meredith contacted me regarding an engagement ring she lost the night before at the Griffith Park Haunted Hayride. She had been there with her fiancé when after the ride was over she stood up to get off, and her loose fitting engagement ring slid off of her finger, and was lost somewhere in the hay. She and her fiancé, along with some of the staff stayed until 3 AM searching for her ring with no luck. We arranged a time to meet there, and I was on my way.

When I arrived Meredith and her fiancé Mehrdod had emptied the hay from the area of the loss from the trailer onto a tarp, and spread it out, so I began my search there. I went over the hay very carefully, but there was no ring there. I then went into the trailer to search the remaining hay but was unable to find it there. There were gaps in the floor of the trailer that a ring could easily fall through, so I got under the trailer and searched; nothing. I then repeated the whole search again to make sure nothing was missed, and again no ring. I asked if this was the area where she disembarked, and she said no it was another area. We went to the place where she stood to get off of the ride, and I began to search there. She and her fiancé were doing something in another part of this spot when I got a great signal, put the pin pointer in, and found her ring. I walked over with her ring hidden in my hand, and asked an inquiring question, to which she walked over to Mehrdod to discuss it with him. It was at that time I held up my hand with her ring, and asked, « Are we looking for this? » Meredith got very emotional at that point with joy, and later said that that was the best « jump scare » she had ever had. She then told me that they were getting married in 12 days; WOW! What a pleasure it is to see that kind of joy restored in a person’s life! What a great day!

It was pretty late one night when Tim contacted me. He had lost his ring at a beach club in their volley ball court, and after about 1 1/2 hours of searching was unable to find it. He wanted to know if I would be willing to go back the next day and do a search, but I told him I would do the search this night if he would send me the information showing me exactly where to look, because time is the real enemy of a successful search. He agreed, and after the information came I was on my way.

All the parking was shut down for the night so the only place I could park was about 2 miles away at the pier. For situations such as this I bring a folding bike with me. I unfolded my bike, strapped my detector and scoop on my back, and rode the bike path to the search area. I was able to find the area quickly, and began my search. It took just a couple of minutes, and I had Tim’s ring in my hand. I let him know it was found, and we arranged to meet the next day for the return. He was very happy that it was found, and happy that I was willing to go to do the search late the night before, to which I exclaimed that it was my pleasure to do so!

I received a call from Saba about her lost wedding ring. She had been at a surf camp earlier in the day, and put her rings into a bag so they would not get lost. When they were ready to leave the bag was lifted, and the rings fell into the sand and disappeared. She and her friends looked and were able to find her engagement ring, but not the wedding band. I let her know that I could come immediately, but she said she might buy a detector also in order to search herself. I did try to discourage that action, because most of the time it just discourages the people I want to help when they try to use equipment they are not used to.

When I got to the beach Saba and her friends met me and showed me where the group had been, and where they had found the other ring. I geared up to do the search, and out came the detector she had purchased. They did try, but to no avail. I searched for about 15 minutes in a tight grid with them working right in front of me the whole way. Right behind them I received a great signal in an area that was searched by their detector just minutes before. I dug, and in my scoop was Saba’s ring. Needless to say she was very happy to have it back!

Ryan was at the beach with his wife, and they lost their house key, which made it impossible to get into the house without calling a locksmith. He called and asked if I could help, and I let him know that I would be right over to do a search for him.

I got to the beach, and Ryan met me and took me to the spot that they had been earlier. He showed me where they had been sitting, and I could see where they had unsuccessfully searched themselves. It took all but about 2 minutes to find the key for him, and have him on his way to be able to enter their house. Ryan was certainly pleased at the quickness of the find.

Berry called me about some lost keys in the sand on the beach. His son had been there the night before and lost his keys. He was unable to find them when he went back to look. I let Berry know that I would meet them there to do a search.

I met Berry and his son Rick at beach at the arranged time. We walked out to the area where Rick thought the keys were lost, and showed me approximately what had happened. I began my search in the area I was shown, and after about 10 minutes was unable to find them. They expanded the search area, and I began to go further from the original area, but again was unable to find the keys, so I began to search down closer to the water. After about 4 passes, and going back in the opposite search direction, I got the signal I was looking for, dug, and had Rick’s keys in my scoop. I was able to give him his very expensive electronic key back which made him a very happy man!

Dan had lost his wedding ring while gardening in his yard, and asked if I would do a search for him. I let him know that I would be happy to do so, and we arranged a time for the search.

I got to his house at the appointed time, and Dan showed me where he thought the ring had come off. It was in a thick bunch of geraniums in a long planter in front of his house. He had trimmed the plants, and believed the ring came off during the process. I searched the planter very carefully, but there was a bunch of metal mesh for the support of the plants that was making a complete search impossible. I searched the grass in front of the planter in case the ring had fallen there. I also searched the clippings to see if he might have thrown it out with them; no ring. Dan asked if I could come back if he were able to remove the metal mesh from the planter, and I said I would.

I got a call from Dan a week later that he had cleaned out the planter. Well when I got there I saw that he had certainly cleaned out the planter. Not only did he remove the mesh, he also cut the geraniums down almost to their roots. I again searched the planter; no ring. I went and searched the clippings; no ring. So I began a search of the grass in front of the planter, got a good signal, reached in with the pin pointer, and there it was. It must have fallen when Dan moved all of the foliage from the planter. Scored on the second try, and he was happy to have his ring again!
