PLATINUM WEDDING RING LOST ON MT.BALDY FOUND AND RETURNED.

  • from Seal Beach (California, United States)

I got a call on Thursday evening from Rob , he told me how he had  just lost his wedding ring while he was making snow angels with his daughter up on mt.Baldy . We made arrangements to meet at 8:30 the next morning . When I got there it was a bone chilling 30 degrees . A little cold for sunny southern California . Rob met me there and we retraced his steps and did a little detective work so we looked at photos from the day before, we narrowed it down to seeing the ring on his finger before the snow angels to it being missing after he shook off his hands and he stood back up, we walked about 100 yards crossed a running creek until we came across the remnants of the snow angels . Rob was pleasant to talk to and was very helpful in getting us back to the right spot. I took a few swings with the detector, heard  a loud solid signal, scooped down and there was Rob’s heavy platinum wedding band. When I showed Rob, he was overtaken with emotion to see the ring that he was certain was lost forever. Rob unfortunately lost his wife a little over a year ago ,his reunion with the ring was heartfelt joy and sadness. He was grateful , before we went down the mountain we had a very nice conversation about all of the quality traits that his wife passed down to his daughter . I am grateful to the ring finders for the opportunity to help others like Rob. That’s the real treasure for me.

Lost White Gold Ring with Diamonds found with Dowsing Rod in Perry Michigan

Playing Hard To Get…..

……was the temperament of the ring lost by this pictured woman’s husband. It all started when the snow came down heavy a few days ago as the husband walked over to the propane tank and lifted the cap to put money under it for the propane company driver. The husband realized that night that his ring was missing and remembered pushing snow off the tank. My Ringfinder friend Gregg had already been there when the site was deep snow prior to calling me out to help and could not locate it by metal detecting all of the area where the husband was walking. He even checked under the tank visually to no avail. When I got on site most of the snow had melted and we detected a bit more in different areas she thought the husband may have been. We also took another look under the tank and the detectors kept going off when we got near the tank. I went back to my vehicle and got out my dowsing rod and started to dowse the area to see if an attraction developed while my friend kept ground scanning. Walking with the rod I started to feel a lock in a certain direction towards the propane tank. Next to the tank was a huge pile of debris. I continued to walk around the pile and tank, boxing in the lock lines the dowsing rod indicated and got a definite pull towards the pile. My friend was packing up his gear ready to leave and she was disappointed that nothing had become of 2 of us detecting with nothing to show when suddenly a line of sight revealed this gorgeous white gold RING! just in front of the white board right where the dowsing rod was indicating! When we were visually looking earlier the small white board was blocking our view of the ring. When I yelled to come over here her face lit up with excitement as I pointed towards the pile and said look just past that white board! We concluded that the husband’s ring came off while brushing snow off the tank and slid close to that board in the debris area which my friend and I couldn’t search with standard metal detectors due to the metal tank. So even tho the ring was playing hard to get, it backfired and gave it up to dowsing. It’s now back where it belongs resting comfortably on the finger it was meant for and making the relationship between husband and wife so much better than the typical results of playing hard to get!

LOST WEDDING BAND IN LAKE CHARLES, LA. – FOUND

  • from Lafayette (Louisiana, United States)
Contact:

Susan called to ask for help in finding her husband’s lost tungsten wedding band.  It was slung off his wet finger a month before when opening their camper door. Carrie and I left the next day for the 70 mile trip. On arriving, we found the grassy search area to be small in the RV lot. We began the search of the lot. Next to the grassy area was a fenced area for a water system. Sid hunted the fenced area facing the RV. After 2 hours of searching and re-searching the yard and rock driveway, we had not found the ring. Susan, Carrie and Sid had gathered up near the rear side of the water system to discuss the next step when Carrie saw a sparkle from the rocks around the water system. In plain view laying on the rocks was the ring. Lost items are not always where you expect them to be. After the happy trio took pictures, we were on our way back home. Thank you, Susan, for your generous reward.

Mari called me asking for help to find her husband’s gold wedding ring lost in the yard while clearing debris from drainage gutters. Her husband, Ali didn’t feel the ring come off his finger. His hands were cold and wet. It had to come off while digging in the wet mud of the planter.

The next day Ali tediously removed all the wood chip ground cover looking for a glimmer of gold color. Then he sifted through a lot of the muddy soil. They called several stores trying to find a metal detector in stock. Then that afternoon they went to a local home depot tool rental store. Someone there told them about TheRingFinders. Ali called me, telling me the story.

I was not sure what conditions I would have to deal with and it looked like it might be raining. I brought rain gear just in case. We were lucky that the rain had just let up when I met Ali that morning. He showed me where he had searched. It took a few minutes to set up my detector because there was some electrical interference near the house.

The area was less than 20’x20’. I began swinging my coil over most the area hearing several potential targets without checking them. When swinging up under a small palm tree a stronger tone and good number ID came up on my metal detector. Ali was standing next to me with a small garden shovel in his hand. I ask him to dig that spot. He only pushed the hand shovel 3” on the damp mud then when he dumped it the gold ring popped out. Both of us were surprised, it was only a few minutes and it was our first target. The right tool for the right job.

I never get tired of doing this, even though there are times when the lost item may not be in the location where it was thought to be lost. You can’t find it if it isn’t there.

Team work helps find wedding ring in Bloomsbury, NJ

  • from Reading (Pennsylvania, United States)

I received an email from Bob stating he lost his wedding ring while walking his dog and was wondering if I could help him. The weather turned to a beautiful 65 degrees after several days of freezing temperatures. I met Bob and he began to show me where he walked throughout the town. He told me that he and his friend (also named Bob) had walked the route several times and could not find the ring due to snow still being on the ground. I searched all the grass areas between the roads and sidewalks with my Garrett ATPro for many blocks. Bob’s friend had been watching me as I searched the last area where he had been with his dog. As I began to move the coil around a tree, he bent down in front of me and picked up the ring. We were excited it was found and he said if it wasn’t for watching my coil he would not have seen it. I did not take a reward, but they said I should count it as a find because I would have passed over the ring in another few inches. Wedding Rings Recovered on Treasure Island

Gary and Beth were relaxing on Treasure Island Beach. Upon leaving, a lounge chair was closed and her wedding rings were lost in the sand. They searched the area around the chair but no luck. The resort office gave them the name and number for SRARC and a call out was issued.

As Joe Szemer arrived, Gary and Beth met him in the lobby. It was a short walk to the beach and the location of the lost items. A few swings of the detector and both rings were recovered.

I got a call last week from a gentleman who was on vacation from Switzerland with a friend, and staying with a another friend a the beach. It seems as though they were out at the beach sitting watching the waves, that the key their friend had given them to enter the house was lost in the sand, and they were unable to find it after about 2 hours of searching. I told them I would be able to be there in about 30 minutes, and was on my way.

When I got to the beach I found them waiting at beach bar, and they took me out to the area of the loss. They showed me where they had been sitting, so I began my search. It took me about 3 passes, and then I got the sound I was wanting to hear. I put the scoop in and had the key. The guys were very happy to have it back, wanting to not feel as they let their friend down by losing his key. Some thankful guys for sure.

Safety Deposit Box Key Lost in Center Grass Median of Busy Blvd. in Bell Gardens, CA…Found and Returned.

II received a call from a young lady who had lost a safety deposit key. She thought she was holding an old key that was no longer usable, but her sister had given her the good key instead. As she was driving down the street she was thinking about the key and decided it was no longer needed, so she threw it out of the car window. It wasn’t until she contacted her sister later that she found out she had thrown out the much needed key.

When I got there she met me and told me all that had happened, and showed me the median. It was about 4:00 PM, on a weekday with a lot of traffic from people getting off of work on their way home. The median was no more than 8 feet wide, so checking on the tones that were on the edge would put me within inches of passing vehicles. The area was about 100 feet long, and I needed to make sure I covered to whole area because she had been moving, and the key most likely bounced when it hit, and was in an area further along from where it had been released. Fortunately she had another key similar to the one that was lost, so I was able to get a reading off of it to know what I was needing to hear. I found a lot of different types of metal during the search, and it wasn’t until neared the end of the median that I found the key underneath the grass. When I brought it back to her, she was very relieved and happy to have it back. Glad to have made her day.

Grandmother’s Gold Ring Lost in the Seattle Snow

  • from Mercer Island (Washington, United States)

Seattle got a snow storm and I got a call from Omar. He and his wife had just spent some time in a coffee shop several bocks from their Issaquah Highlands residence. Earlier the area has received its first snow of the year with very cold tempetatures keeping the packed snow and ice around for quite some time. Omar retelling the story told me that his wife had slipped and fallen down on her hands and knees. In the process her gloves got cold, damp and snowy. So Omar took her gloves and shook them out to rid them of the excess snow and water. It wasn’t until they made it back home that his wife made the sad realization that her late grandmother’s gold ring was missing from her finger at witch point her heart simply sank. Omar told me that they recalled having the ring at the coffee shop so they were certain that the ring had to be somewhere along the path between the shop and their home. It made the most logical sense being that the ring was already loose fitting, with cold fingers and taking the gloves off that this is where the ring managed to easily slip away. Omar had tried to search a bit just by looking up and down the path before he quickly realized he was going to need some professional help in his quest to recover his wife’s precious ring. He was able to find The Ring Finders and my contact info after a quick internet search.

After our phone conversation having heard his story I agreed that we had a really good chance of recovering the ring and carefully headed out to his location. The challenging part that happens in quite a few of these searches is having the patients to work the the individual as they try their best to recall their memories of where exactly their item was thought to have gone missing. Being that Omar and his wife had not realized they lost the ring until they got home they did not have a super focused relocation of where exactly she fell at fist. There were several clues and that slow came to Omar’s memory as we walked the path a few times and after adding up all the little bits I started to fell a lot more confident we were searching the correct area. However at the same time the longer the search progressed Omar admitted afterwards to thinking that we might have to give up. Knowing how well medal detection works to recover lost ring I knew if we got in the correct location we would eventually recover the ring. Remembering that the ring was lost only a few hours earlier and the few people passing up and down this sidewalk were far more occupied on the freezing weather and the snow.

Watch this video to see the exciting conclusion of Grandma’s lost ring recovered from under the snow:

It’s worth sharing that from the time the ring was lost there had been no snow or rain fall. We believe Omar’s aggressive shaking action flung the ring down with a bit of force and the fact these rings have a substantial weight to them likely drove the ring into the fluffy snow just off the compacted sidewalk area. So it was no surprise to me when I detected the ring with my medal detector the ring was completely buried in the snow. No visual search would have fond this ring until the snow had completely melted!

I was very happy to have been a part of the recovery of this ring and in get it back home to Omar’s wife finger where it belongs! We hope this ring stays with them for a life time as they remember their grandmother often.

Cheers,

Jeff Morgan

Men’s wedding ring recovered after winter storm in Perry, Michigan

  • from Manistee (Michigan, United States)
Contact:

Last week during one of the worst snow storms and low temperatures in the state of Michigan, I received a call from Joel C. telling me he lost his 14K gold wedding ring while placing money for his snow plow driver under the blue cap on his LP Gas tank. I told Joel that I could come out and search for his ring the next day although it was -10 degrees and about a foot of snow. Alyssa C., Joel’s wife, explained that he cleared the snow off the gas tank, pushing the snow down towards him, then placing the plow fee under the blue cap (see picture). I set my detector to discriminate out the steel gas tank and proceeded to search in front and behind the tank and around the driveway and snow piles that had been plowed later that night after he lost his ring. After an hour or so of searching I then questioned Alyssa with several probing questions as to whether Joel remembered having the ring on during the day and what took place that evening, I stop the search and said I will be back after the weather warmed up in the following days.  I called a Ringfinder friend, Jon Hamil, from the other side of the state to meet me at their house to help with the search. We both made the 1 1/2 hour trip from opposite sides of the state and began our search in now a snow free area. Jon and I went over the same area as I did before with no success.      After an hour searching outside we went in the house checked the couch, sink drains and garage, still no ring. Going back out to the yard John used a system he developed and discovered the ring on top of the yellow children’s discarded plastic slide (see picture).  I looked on the slide and there was the ring. I was dumbfounded by it’s presents and questioning myself how it landed there in a snow storm. I guess it doesn’t matter because it made Alyssa smile and she gave us each a hug and sighing with relief that the ring was found she immediately called Joel to tell him the good news.
