Gold Wedding Band Lost, Recovered and Returned in Media, PA!!!

  • from Philadelphia (Pennsylvania, United States)

Ron texted me after finding me in the Ring Finders Directory. He was doing some yard work at his home in Media, PA when his 45 year old gold wedding band slipped off his finger. He was 85% sure it fell off in his backyard. He had searched himself for 2-3 hours before calling a professional. I agreed to meet him the next day and upon my arrival he walked me through the area where he thought in fell off. A gold wedding band on the surface has a very unique signal…I also have the ability to zero in my machine on just gold signals. It was quite a large search area…but I started in the area where he spent the most time. 3-4 minutes into the search I received the signal I was hoping for…looked down…and there was his beautiful gold wedding band shining up at me!!! I called Ron  over and to say he was amazed and happy would be an understatement! I was so happy I was able to get his ring back on his finger!!!

IPhone 16 Lost in the Ocean, Recovered and Returned North Myrtle Beach SC

  • from North Myrtle Beach (South Carolina, United States)

This recovery started on Saturday night about 9 pm when I received the following text. “Hi! My girlfriend lost her phone during a walk on the sand bar during low tide about an hour ago between 16th and 13th street in North Myrtle. The tide started coming in, so we had to limit our search to 10 minutes. We’re wondering if you’d be able to help us look for it during low tide in the morning. We know approximately where it was dropped. I know tomorrow is Easter, but please let us know if you are available.” I called the number attached to the text and talked with Maria, who lost the phone. First, I wanted to confirm the location, as to whether it was a North or South Ave in North Myrtle Beach. I also wanted to get some more details. Maria told me that her and her boyfriend, Joe, were walking on the sand bars and at some point, the phone came out of her pocket. When she confirmed she lost the phone on the side south, I decided to take a ride and look at the parking situation. I ended up stopping by the condo they were at and got to meet them. I learned the last location she was able to get from the phone was between 14th and 15th Ave South. She also told me again about walking on the sand bars and at one point she was on her hands and knees trying to feel for the phone in the water.

Today, Easter Sunday, I was on the beach at 6 am working the water between the sand bar and the beach. I ran into Maria and Joe around 6:30 as I was searching. I had misunderstood Maria and thought she lost the phone between the sand bars and the beach. She had actually lost it going through inlets between sand bars. I also thought and told her, that I suspected the phone would be lying on the bottom. The sand was hard packed, and I didn’t think the phone would settle in the sand, was proved wrong on that assumption. So, Maria got me squared away on where she thought the phone might be. I started checking the inlets between the sand bars and on the 3rd inlet I hit a strong target. I dug 3 full scoops of sand before I got the target out of the hole.  I had to be careful that if this was the phone, I didn’t want to break it with the scoop. As I pulled out the 3rd scoop of sand, I saw the red and white checkered case hanging out about an inch from between the sand. Maria saw it about the same time and reached down and pulled it out from the sand scoop. She was so excited. I’ve heard the newer I Phones are waterproof, and I guess they are. This one had been in the ocean, buried in sand for almost 12 hours and it turned right on, and she was able to call Joe’s phone. Vacation, her pictures and Easter Sunday all saved!!

Maria – Thank you for trusting me to help find your phone. Wish you and Joe all the best and enjoy the rest of your vacation.

Lost Gold Ring Found in Troy Michigan

  • from Detroit (Michigan, United States)

Hoppy Endings….

While Jim was setting up the Easter egg hunt for the grandchildren yesterday his gold ring came off. Although often told he is too old to participate, I told him he was never too old to search for gold. The plan was hatched to meet this morning before the festivities began. Waiting a few to let a brief rainfall pass we wondered where the ring egg-scaped to, I mentioned that the ring had way more karats than the easter bunny but then what would a rabbit do with a gold ring? Laughing, I hopped into a grid search in the suspected area. Near some longer grass a good signal came thru my headphones from the metal detector. Reaching down with my Garrett carrot pin pointer it signaled, revealing Jim’s gold ring! Handing it to him I said… Well, this Easter turned out to be all it’s cracked up to be….. and somebunny needs some chocolate!

Victor was doing some yard work, like planting some small trees and spreading new dirt and mulch. He spent most of the morning in the same spot and when he was all finished he noticed that his rose gold wedding ring was not on his finger any more. He was 95% sure he lost it in the dirt or mulch and he knew that it would take the rest of the day to go through all the dirt and mulch plus the area looked so nice and he just hated to tear it all up! So he looked on line and found theringfinders.com website and decided to give me a call. I am usually always available so I showed up at Victor’s home and within 5 minutes I dug a bottle cap and his lost wedding ring, which was down in the dirt a good 8 inches and rang up as an #80 on my Deus 2 metal detector! Victor was very relieved to have his lost wedding ring back and I was super thankful to be a blessing to him as well.

Platinum Wedding Band Lost on Open Water Swim…Recovered In Alameda!!!

  • from Walnut Creek (California, United States)

The Bay Area Ring Finders Brendon Chapman… Metal Detecting Service/Call ASAP     925-580-2590

Mark was having a rough start to his paternity leave.  First a sick little one at home on day 1, but then the unimaginable happened to him.  While getting some exercise on Day 2 by way of an open water swim in the San Francisco Bay, he had at some point lost his Platinum wedding band.  He sent this message to me at a bit past 10pm on Sunday…

« Hi Brendon, I saw TheRingFinders website.  I think I lost my wedding band swimming this morning in Alameda, CA.  If you are available tomorrow, (I) would be willing to meet you out there. »

Unfortunately, I did not see the message until I had arrived at work the next morning. I was quick to respond to Marks request.  After a short call to discuss the ins and outs of the location, time of day, tides, and the likes we determined that the next mornings low time was our first best shot at a search.  He sent me some really cool GPS tracks of his two swims that morning and if we could get them to jive, it would make for a smaller zone to search. We might only searching the paths of travel rather than run a larger scaled grid search.  Mark also mentioned that if I had extra equipment, he would be glad to join in on the action.

I arrived and met Mark just prior to low tide, around 8am.  He was stunned at how little water there was and I was happy to know I wouldn’t necessarily need to get wet to perform this search.  I pulled out my back-up metal detector with an extra scoop and after a 5 minute tutorial on how it worked, Mark was off.  He and I decided to each take one of the paths of travel and divide our efforts into two searches.  I was completing my search efforts of the first track after about an hour.  It resulted in the removal of a minimal amount of trash but no ring.  As I made my way towards joining Marks efforts, I noticed that he was working a hole.  Moments later he shouted, « I found it!!! ».  I could see that he was fully excited as I ran down to congratulate him.  I pulled out my camera and snapped a few quick shots as he triumphantly held up his platinum wedding band. We had made the recovery!!!

Thanks Mark for allowing me to help out with the search and recovery of this ring.  I can only imagine the gratification of locating and recovering your own lost item once you had the right equipment.  You can join me on another recovery anytime!  Best wishes for you and your families future!

Cellphone Lost During a Car Accident .. Found One Month Later with a Metal Detector

  • from Newport Beach (California, United States)

Detecting service available to help you find important lost items… Stan the MetalDetector Man ..Call or text  949-500-2136

***  I received a text message from the parents, whose daughter was involved in an auto accident more than 4 weeks ago.  Their daughter’s phone was lost on the roadside and they had the location pin from the Find My phone app, They made a couple unsuccessful trips searching an area just off the side of pacific coast highway across from Bolsa Chica Beach.

I was sent a text with latitude / longitude coordinates that were taken just after the accident. He told me it was very important to retrieve the phone. I entered the co ordinates in my gps device. The next day I drove to the general location and was able to locate phone using my metal detector.

Cellphones often get picked up by pedestrians in public areas because they can’t hide as well as smaller objects. I’m getting more confident finding cellphones if they have an active Find My phone app and it shows battery life with a gps location.

I sent a text message with a photo of the phone. The parents texted me back with a location to meet and pick up the phone. This recovery was done completely by texting messages and It wasn’t necessary for them to meet me at the location of the loss.  I do not always need a person to meet me at the search location, if they have gps co ordinates.   Sometimes I know the area well enough to save clients the trouble of meeting me. Of course it’s always better to have them see how thorough I search and understand how a professional metal detecting search is performed.

Amanda was pulling weeds around her backyard and later realized that her very special ring was not on her finger. This ring was her grandmothers ring and was then passed down to her mother and later to Amanda. She was heart broken and for a month she thought about it often and it was a continuous ache in her heart. A friend who lives up north heard about Amanda’s situation and found theringfinders.com web site and sent her my number. We made arrangements and it took a good 25 minutes to search the area and as I was finishing up the back yard I got a sharp, clear signal along the wooden fence and as I pushed my Garrett AT pin pointer down into the grass I could see just a small glimmer of gold and sure enough, there was Amanda’s lost gold heirloom ring, tucked down in the grass where no one could have ever possible spotted it just by looking. Amanda was overjoyed and all smiles as she slipped her ring back on her finger. How I thank God for allowing me to find Amanda’s lost gold heirloom ring and for being a part of her joy and happiness!

10 Property Stakes/Markers found on Heavily Wooded 200 Acre Property – Green Sea SC

  • from North Myrtle Beach (South Carolina, United States)

I got a call from Jeff, the owner of JD Metal Detecting asking if I could help a couple find some property markers. The couple had shown up at his shop looking for a detector and Jeff suggested they talk to me. I jumped at the chance to help; I grabbed 3 different detectors, my pin pointer, and my digging knife and was on my way.

When I arrived, I met Brock and Ce-Ce waiting for me on a barren piece of property. Looking at the200 acre plot of land, we identified the front three markers and went from there. After about two hours of trudging through heavily wooded, tall grass and some swampy areas, we found the 10 markers we were looking for. All the markers identified Brock’s two lots and the dividing line between him and the other property owner, Although we didn’t see any snakes, I’m sure they were there someplace. Brock and Ce-Ce have some big plans on clearing the land and building a beautiful home there.

Brock – Best of luck to you two, I hope all your dreams come true.

Diamond Earring Lost, Recovered and Returned in Wayne, PA!!!

  • from Philadelphia (Pennsylvania, United States)

Chris found me in The Ring Finders directory and dropped me a text. Apparently his wife, Molly, lost a very sentimental earring following breakfast at a local restaurant in Wayne, PA. Prior to meeting them at the restaurant later that day, Chris conveyed to me the following details. Molly had been eating breakfast with some friends and while at the table she felt her earring fall off…she picked it up and thought she put it securely back in her ear…but when she got to her car a few minutes later it was not there. They spent several hours searching for it in the parking lot. On the phone I told them that if it fell off in the gravel parking lot it was just as likely they would find it with their eyes vs with a metal detector because it would be right on the surface. They still wanted me to come search. I met them at the restaurant and prior to getting my detector out of car we walked the parking lot as Molly described how she thought the loss occurred. I then went to get my machine out of the car so I could scan the one earing she still had and then begin the search. Well…while walking back to them after grabbing my detector I was hyper focused on scanning the ground…like most of us Ring Finders do…and sure as heck…there was her beautiful earring!!! No metal detector necessary!!! I walked up to Molly and asked her to stick her hand out…confused…she did so…and I dropped her lost earring in her hand. Her and her husband were so full of surprise and joy that the lost earring was back in their possession!!!

Lost Engagement Ring in Solano County…Found!

  • from Walnut Creek (California, United States)

The Bay Area Ring Finders Brendon Chapman… Metal Detecting Service/Call ASAP     925-580-2590

The thing that I enjoy most about doing this work are the stories, and this was a really good one!

Mary and Frank are an elderly couple living in Solano County!  Mary had first contacted me to discuss a very important engagement ring, a yellow gold solitaire ring given to her 23 years earlier.  She had been doing a bit of gardening in the backyard when she thought to herself that it was probably a bad idea to have her wedding and engagement ring on while performing this work.  Like so many others have done, she removed the rings and put them into a pant pocket and went about her work. Later, when she tried to retrieve her rings only the wedding band was found.  She admitted to being so disappointed that she had used a bit of profanity and had been loosing sleep over the entire ordeal.

Mary had been previously married and enjoyed scuba diving. Her outings found her in contact with Frank, a boat Captain.  Frank is a Veteran Naval Aviation Navigator serving 3 tours in Vietnam and a sailing enthusiast who at the time co-owned a 40′ Valiant sailing vessel used to travel as far North as the San Juan Islands and South to Mazatlan and Cabo San Lucas.  The group enjoyed many trips together and a 30 year friendship. 23 years ago things had changed in their lives and Frank proposed to Mary and they have been married ever since.  To Mary, the ring represented 53 combined years of friendship and love.  I had to find this ring!

Mary led me to a beautifully manicured backyard and told me the story of how and when the ring was lost.  We decided to start with three target areas which included a small lawn area that was searched with no luck.  The second area didn’t reveal much either.  In our third target area between two small shrubs, a 12/13 on the Equinox 800…we made the recovery!!!

As I held up the ring, Mary was overcome with emotion and gave me a long and strong embrace, her nightmare was over. We took some pictures to commemorate the occasion and spent the next 20 minutes talking about travel, life, and family…the important things.  When we went into the couples beautiful home to give Frank the good news he too was excited, gave me a good handshake and made a really funny joke about kissing me!  Thank you kindly for your service to our country Frank!

To Mary and Frank I wish you all the health and happiness in the world.  Your story made me extremely happy and was an inspiration.
