Metal Detecting Service finds lost gold ear ring after car accident, Ocala Florida, recovered by Mike McInroe, Florida Ring Finder!

I received a call from Dylan asking if I was available to help locate a very sentimental gold ear ring lost during a car accident along the Florida Turnpike near the Ocala Florida area. Dylan’s girlfriend had been given these special ear rings years ago and was desperate to find the missing ear ring. During the accident the air bags went off and the trauma somehow caused her to lose one of them. My first attempt was to search the entire area where the car came to a stop in the grassy center median. And as you know these areas are just covered with all sorts of metal objects…so it took a few hours to check every signal that was shallow and that rang up in the general gold numbers. My search came up unsuccessful so I determined I really needed to search the vehicle next but it had been towed to a local insurance auto auction lot and was not available for me to search without the proper permission. So I assured Dylan that I would conduct a search of the vehicle when I had opportunity and when the paper work was complete. Fast forward 50 days…I received another lost ring search only minutes away from where Dylan’s car was being held and I made plans to stop by and do a thorough search of the wrecked car. And it was a good thing because the car was in the process of being sent to auction only days later. A quick search of the cars interior and the lost gold ear ring was found…way under the drivers seat. Dylan and his girl friend were just thrilled to hear the good news and drove a couple of hours to retrieve her precious lost gold ear ring that held such sentimental value! And what a thrill it was to hand it over to her and see the joy and relief on her face. God truly is good in allowing me to be a blessing and encouragement to this dear young couple.

🌊💍 Another Wedding Ring Recovered from Lake Conroe!

🌊💍 Another Wedding Ring Recovered from Lake Conroe!

With Texas temperatures soaring, there’s no better place to cool off than the water. Unfortunately, summer swimming can also be one of the easiest ways to lose a wedding ring.
I recently received a call from a Lake Conroe homeowner, Matthew, after his wedding ring slipped off while he was cooling off in approximately 6 to 8 feet of water behind his dock. The water offered zero visibility, making any chance of finding the ring by sight virtually impossible.
Before I arrived, he sent me a photo of his dock and the area where he believed the ring had entered the water—always a huge advantage when planning an underwater search.
When I arrived, I immediately noticed he was a proud University of Houston Cougar alumnus. During our conversation, we discovered he was also friends with my in-laws, who are fellow UH alumni. It’s amazing how often these recoveries remind me just how small the world really is!
Once underwater, the search became more challenging than expected. Hidden beneath the surface were remnants of older dock structures, with broken boards and sharp wood protruding from the sandy lake bottom. Zero visibility and underwater hazards always require patience, careful navigation, and a methodical search.
As often happens with underwater recoveries, the ring wasn’t exactly where it was expected to be. After expanding the search grid slightly beyond the estimated drop location, my detector produced the signal we were hoping for. A few moments later, the wedding ring was safely back where it belonged.
Every successful recovery is rewarding, but returning a wedding ring that represents years of memories is always something special.
Thank you for trusting Houston Metal Detecting Services with another successful underwater recovery!

🔥 109° Outside… The Perfect Recipe for Losing a Wedding Ring! 💍🐕

🔥 109° Outside… The Perfect Recipe for Losing a Wedding Ring! 💍🐕

Texas continues to bake under extreme heat warnings, and today’s recovery was no exception. As I drove to James’ home in Houston, my truck’s outside temperature read 109 degrees.
In weather like this, about the only thing that makes sense is water—and that’s exactly where this story begins.
James had been washing his dogs in the front yard, trying to cool them off while escaping the Texas heat himself. Unfortunately, when you combine extreme heat, cool water, and soap, wedding rings tend to disappear.
Later that day, James realized his wedding ring was no longer on his finger.
He spent a considerable amount of time searching through the thick Saint Augustine grass but quickly discovered just how difficult it is to find a gold ring hiding beneath that dense turf.
After an online search, James found Houston Metal Detecting Services, and we arranged to meet the following day.
The good news? James had done some excellent detective work and accurately identified where he believed the ring had been lost. Within just a few minutes of beginning the search, my detector gave a strong signal—and there it was!
💍 Another wedding ring successfully recovered and returned to its owner.
A quick reminder during these hot Texas summers: if you’re swimming, washing the car, watering the yard, or even giving your dogs a bath, remember that heat, cold water, and soap can cause your fingers to shrink just enough for a ring to slip off without you noticing.
If you’ve lost a wedding ring, class ring, necklace, bracelet, keys, or another valuable metal item, don’t give up hope. Professional equipment and experience often make all the difference.

Metal detecting service finds lost cochlear implant in inter coastal water in Port Orange, Florida!

Amberly texted me to ask if I was available to find a lost cochlear implant that belonged to her son. Apparently while taking pictures at the Boondock Restaurant in Port Orange Florida her son’s cochlear implant fell into the inter coastal water right where everyone feeds the local catfish! Amberly’s husband climbed down into the water and tried dragging a fishing net along the bottom but after an hour or so he gave up and it was decided that they needed specialized help in order to find their lost cochlear implant. So the next morning I gathered all my gear and headed over to the Ponce Inlet area and met Amberly and her family. It was not an ideal place to do a water search as the area was full of sharp objects like oyster shells and barnacles and even hungry cat fish and so I opted to use my large Magnatar magnet and by leaning over the rail I was able to lower my magnet into the water and slowly bob it back and forth. Ideally the lost cochlear implant should have been directly below where it fell but because a fishing net was dragged over the area it obviously got moved further out into the water. So after 30 minutes or so I found exactly what I was looking for…Amberly’s son’s lost cochlear implant! And my prayer was…Thank you GOD for allowing me to be used to help Amberly and her family in their time of need!!!

So how can GOD help me help you? Mike McInroe…grateful member of theringfinders.com

Chris and Hollie were savoring a perfect day at the beach in Ocean City, NJ. They had spent the day soaking up the warm sun, cooling off with a refreshing swim. But when Chris dove into a wave, his wedding band slipped off his finger and vanished into the churning water.
The next morning, Chris called me. Could I help him find his lost ring? I got the details and made my way to the beach, arriving just as the tide was going out. Chris and Hollie were waiting anxiously, but trying to stay positive as they got ice cream and settled in to watch me search.
The water was waist-deep and murky, with a strong current that made it hard to walk. I moved slowly and methodically, scanning the ocean floor as I went. About 25 minutes later my metal detector buzzed. I scooped down and saw the ring in the scoop!
I emerged from the water, walking back to where they were sitting. Chris and Hollie were overjoyed, their faces lighting up with relief and happiness. Finding the ring was the perfect way to end their day at the beach in Ocean City, NJ.

Olivia lost her ring in Lake Avalon early in the morning on New Years Day when her future brother in law, Enzo, put her over his shoulder and jumped off the end of the dock and into the lake!  She has had this ring for the last two years and it has her initials engraved on it.  This is her most prized possession as it is a family tradition for generations that once you graduate from high school the family gifts you a gold signet ring to celebrate your hard work and their love and appreciation for you!

Olivia wrote:  « Later that day Enzo, my future brother in law, found theringfinders information on line and gave Mike a call.  Mike did an amazing job at finding my size 2 gold pinky ring in the black mucky lake water.   He managed to find it in less than 8 minutes!  He was super kind and a very personable guy.  I am so thankful for him coming out and saving my most prized possession.  I really didn’t think I was going to see it again.  I would definitely recommend him to get the job done! »

As the weather cools here in sunny Florida, it seems like even the critters are looking for ways to stay warm and as Sean attempted to chase an insect out of his front door and into his front yard, he felt his gold wedding ring slip off of his finger and in a second it just disappeared.  He just knew it couldn’t have gone too far but the more he searched the more he realized he needed a metal detector.  His first attempt at renting and using a cheap detector proved more frustrating than helpful and all he was left with were holes in the grass and a bill for the rental.  And then he came across theringfinders.com web site and after reading a few of my recovery stories he decided to give me a call.  The next day I met Sean and he explained what happened while showing me the exact area he was standing when he lost his wedding ring.  I set up my Deus 2 metal detector and began my first sweep along the driveway and as I returned up towards the front door I got a clear medium tone just behind a small Christmas sign decoration and as I probed with my pin pointer I could barely make out Sean’s lost gold wedding ring.  Sean could not believe it was there…so close…yet so well hidden in the fading winter grass.

Makayla called me to ask if I could help her find a very special ring that was lost in a small animal pen behind her house.  Before attempting any search I always ask some very specific questions to help me determine the likelihood of actually finding the lost or misplaced item.  Thankfully Makayla assured me that her friend actually felt the ring come off and it was in a very small area and they had not disturbed the area for fear of burying it further in the straw.  Apparently while spreading the straw out, her friend actually felt her ring slip off of her finger and it immediately disappeared…especially since the ring was a gold ring and almost the very same color as the straw.  They began looking through the 12 inch thick straw and after a while they gave up and decided they needed a metal detector and that led them to the internet and theringfinders web site.

It only took a few minutes to locate the lost diamond ring in the straw and the young couple was thrilled to have their precious ring back again.

Erick wanted to help the folks at a local RV park in Astatula, Florida where a large tree had fallen across a narrow canal that was blocking access to Little Lake Harris.  The large oak tree had been dragged close to the shore which allowed Erick to use a rented chain say and after hours of intense labor, all that was left was the thick three foot section of the trunk in two and a half feet of water.  Erick’s daughter had been videoing the whole process and at the last few minutes of recording, Erick’s hands were very wet and sore and he went to shake the water off of his left hand and that action sent his beautiful wedding ring into the water just a few feet from where he was standing.

This is not the first call I have had from Erick to help him find his lost wedding ring!  On this occasion as soon as his ring hit the water he said, « I need to call Mike! »   It was late in the day and as I talked to Erick I could hear the panic and desperation in his voice.  So under an absolutely beautiful full moon I arrived at the location all geared up with wet suit, scuba boots and my trusty Garrett AT Max metal detector and waded into the cool dark water and began my search.  It took a few minutes and then I remembered Erick saying that his daughter had recorded the whole ordeal!  As soon as I saw the video and located the one lonely lily pad right next to where his ring hit the water….it look only seconds and my metal detector beeped loudly, indicating a shallow, strong, gold signal!

Erick was overcome with sentimental emotion and the bear hug that I received was evident how much his wedding ring meant to him and how much he loves his beautiful wife of 20 years!

Randy called me about a set of keys that had been run over by a commercial lawn mower and the most important key was nowhere to be found. He and his son had walked the area numerous times hoping to find the keys but all they could see were bits and pieces of his truck fob/key. The lost keys were very important as they were the only keys he had that opened his storage shed/office and a master key to the apartment building that he owned and managed!

After a thorough search on the internet he finally came across theringfinders.com website and gave me a call. Upon hearing Randy’s story I figured the keys were there hiding in the grass and they may be whole or in pieces as the mower all but destroyed the fob and one key there were able to find. So later that afternoon I met Randy and he showed me the area and as I grid searched back and forth I realized the ground was loaded with trashy signals of all kinds so I concentrated on the strongest and most shallow signals and that helped me locate–first two bent up keys and the metal ring and then just a few steps away, the most important key! Randy was thrilled and relieved to have his keys back and could not stop saying thank you!

Lost something recently? How can I help? Call me ASAP at 321-363-6029!
