Lost ring in Big Lake beach recovered!

  • from Coon Rapids (Minnesota, United States)

Unfortunately, this is an all-too-common occurrence. While swimming at a public beach, his ring slipped off his finger and disappeared beneath the water.

Beaches are a top priority for metal detectorists during the summer because incidents like this happen so often. When I received the call, I knew time was critical. At a busy public beach, every passing hour increases the chance that someone else could find the ring or that shifting sand and heavy foot traffic could make recovery more difficult.

We agreed to meet a few hours later, after the beach had become less crowded. Once I arrived, the search area was identified, and I conducted a thorough search until, at last, his ring was recovered.

Thank you for trusting me to help recover your lost ring. Seeing your appreciation—and your near-tearful expression when it was returned—made every minute of the search worthwhile.

Lost ring on Forest Lake golf course recovered!

  • from Coon Rapids (Minnesota, United States)

Sentimental value cannot be measured. This unfortunate incident was filled with meaning: Ron had been golfing when he put on his father’s ring — a ring given to him by his mother a few years earlier. His father died young and the ring had been tucked away and nearly forgotten until his mother found it and offered it to Ron. He accepted immediately and asked his wife to have their wedding date, along with his parents’ wedding date, engraved inside.

While on the course he slipped the ring into his pocket, later reached for money, and didn’t notice his pocket had turned inside out. Realizing it was missing, Ron retraced his steps, rented a metal detector, and searched the area but found nothing. He called me, and we went to the most likely spot and searched until the ring was recovered.

I feel privileged to have been part of this deeply sentimental recovery. Ron, you are a kind soul — your gratitude meant everything. Thank you for choosing me to find your ring.

Engagement ring found at Port Crescent State Park in Michigan.

  • from Mount Pleasant (Michigan, United States)

I got a call from a lady saying that she lost her engagement ring in Lake Huron at Crescent State Park in Michigan. My daughter and I traveled 2 1/2 hours to meet the couple. After they showed me where it should be in the water, I got searching and found it in about 15 minutes. It was worth driving that distance to see the smiles on their faces.

Wedding ring found in the water at Sanford Lake in Michigan

  • from Mount Pleasant (Michigan, United States)

I got a call from a lady saying that her husband lost his wedding ring at Sanford Lake in Michigan. I met them both there to try to find it. The husband said he was in about a 75 foot long area along the beach in the water. He said that he didn’t go out farther than 30 feet. He was playing with his kids and crawling on the lake bottom. I figured that I would start at where he could crawl and keep his head above water. In less than five minutes and my first signal, I scooped up his ring. They were both happy to have it back and it made my day to get it back to him.

Memorial pendant found at a beach in Michigan.

  • from Mount Pleasant (Michigan, United States)

I was out detecting a beach in Michigan when I found this Memorial pendant. It had a thumb print and a name with dates on the back. I put it on the local facebook page and was able to find the owner. It turns out that it belonged to a young man whose grandfather died. I mailed it out to him and his mother recorded a message from him thanking me. This is the most rewarding hobby to have. You can watch the full video of the find on YouTube at the ringmeister. The message from Hunter is one of the shorts.

Lost Nexklace recovered from the Ocean, Avon NJ, recovered by Edward Trapper, NJ Ring Finder

  • from Lavallette (New Jersey, United States)

Ring Finder LBI Julia contacted me about her husband, Trevor, who had lost his necklace while enjoying a beautiful day at the Jersey Shore.

Trevor was out in the water when he ducked under a wave and suddenly felt his necklace flip right over his head. He popped back up in a panic and immediately started searching, but the surf and waves made it impossible to find. That’s when Julia reached out to me.

I asked quite a few questions, and fortunately Trevor had a very good idea of where he was standing when it happened. There was a rope line separating the swimming area from the jetty, and he was confident he had been no farther than the third buoy and within about 10 to 15 feet of it. That narrowed the search area down considerably.

I wasn’t able to get there until later in the day after the swimmers had cleared out and the tide was approaching low. I started searching the north side of the rope and worked the area thoroughly, but I wasn’t getting any promising signals.

As I looked out, I noticed the rope had a significant bow in it from the force of the tide and current. That made me rethink exactly where Trevor would have been standing when the necklace came off. I moved closer to the bowed section of the rope and began searching again.

Almost immediately, I got that sweet signal.

The tone was stronger than I expected, and I had a pretty good feeling I knew why. A few scoops later, I saw the glimmer in my scoop—Trevor’s necklace! And attached to it was his wedding ring, which he had been wearing on the chain. That extra gold explained the beautiful signal I had heard.

Within moments, what had been a stressful day at the beach turned into a celebration. Trevor and Julia were thrilled to have such an important piece of jewelry back in their hands, and I was happy to help make it happen.

Another successful Jersey Shore recovery for Edward Trapper, NJ Ring Finder—helping reunite people with the things that matter most.

There are some items in life that simply cannot be replaced. For Kason of Gwynn Oak, his 14 karat yellow gold wedding band was one of those treasures. It represented commitment, love, and the life he and his wife Brianna had built together. So when that precious ring suddenly disappeared while he was doing yard work, the couple feared the worst.

Kason had been outside working diligently in the backyard of their Maryland home, pulling weeds and cleaning up the property. At one point during the day, after possible exposure to poison ivy, he went to wash off his skin. It was during that moment that disaster struck. As he cleaned himself off, he suddenly felt his wedding band fly off of his finger. The panic set in immediately.

Kason searched everywhere around the yard trying to locate the missing ring. He retraced his steps over and over again, hoping to catch even the smallest glimmer of gold in the grass or dirt. Hours passed, but the beloved keepsake remained missing. The mystery only deepened as time went on.

Determined not to give up, Kason even tried using a metal detector himself. Unfortunately, despite his efforts, the machine could not help him recover the irreplaceable symbol of love. The couple began to realize they needed professional help. That’s when Kason and Brianna searched online and discovered THE RING FINDERS, the elite international directory of professional metal detectorists. After reaching out to me, Brian Rudolph of METAL DETECTING ADVENTURES INC, we discussed the details surrounding the disappearance, the search conditions, and how a professional recovery operation would be conducted.

Within the next couple of days, I traveled to the Baltimore area where the couple lived. Since Kason was at work, his wife Brianna met me at the home and carefully showed me the backyard and the exact area where her husband believed the ring had flown from his finger.

Once I gathered enough information and analyzed the surroundings, I returned to my vehicle to retrieve my specialized metal detecting equipment. With everything ready, I began a slow and methodical grid search of the backyard.

About 30 minutes into the recovery operation, the mystery was finally solved. Kason’s handsome 14 karat yellow gold wedding band was discovered lying very close to the house — approximately 25 feet away from where he had originally been standing when the ring took flight.

The recovery was far more challenging than it appeared. The aluminum siding on the house created a massive signal interference problem. To most metal detectors, the overwhelming signal from the siding would completely mask the much smaller gold target hidden nearby. Without specialized techniques and professional experience, distinguishing the ring from the siding’s interference would have been nearly impossible. By carefully using professional grid lane techniques and precise detector control methods, I was able to isolate the faint signal that others had unknowingly missed for days.

When Brianna saw the recovered wedding band, excitement immediately filled the backyard. She quickly called Kason at work to deliver the incredible news that his cherished ring had finally been found. Shortly after leaving the property, I had the chance to speak with Kason personally, and I could not have met a kinder or more grateful individual.

Moments like these are what make this work so rewarding. As I drove away from the couple’s home, I felt incredibly thankful to have helped preserve yet another irreplaceable symbol of love and commitment for a deserving family.

Lost on the Edge: A Cliffside Search That Brought Two Rings Home in Middle River, Maryland

  • from Washington (District of Columbia, United States)

Olivia’s stunning white gold diamond wedding band and engagement ring, beautifully reunited after an intense multi-day cliffside recovery.

Olivia and her husband Anthony celebrating the successful recovery of both cherished rings, sharing a joyful moment they’ll never forget.

Brian Rudolph, Lost Item Recovery Specialist (also known as THE RING HERO) searches  Land, Water, Sand, Snow, Leaves, Cliffs, Houses and Vehicles. He Will Find Your Lost Item! Call ASAP (301) 466-8644!

When Olivia reached out to me, her voice carried the kind of heartbreak that only comes from losing something truly irreplaceable. Her white gold diamond wedding band and matching engagement ring had vanished days earlier—somewhere down a dangerously steep hillside in her backyard. It wasn’t until I got to the search site that I was told that the rings disappeared somewhere down a steep embankment. I just thought the rings were somewhere in the backyard.

Her husband Anthony had already tried everything he could, even using a metal detector to recover the rings himself. But despite his determination, the search came up empty. The couple feared the worst—that the rings were gone forever. That’s when they discovered The Ring Finders, an international directory of metal detecting specialists, and contacted me for help.

A Hill That Felt Like a Cliff

When I arrived at their home in Middle River, Maryland, I quickly realized this would be no ordinary search. This “hill” was closer to a cliff—steep, unstable, and covered in thick overgrowth. Tall weeds, tangled plant life, and debris made every step—and every sweep of the metal detector—a challenge. Still, I pressed on.

Before I began the search, I asked the couple if we could pray for my success and ask the Lord to guide me to the special rings. They were quite on board with my suggestion and we did so excitedly. I told the couple that since God is the designer of betrothal and marriage, I always assume that He loves to see people recover their special symbols of love so that they can continue to highlight amongst the world their commitment to the covenant of the betrothal and of marriage.

Within the first hour, success! About 55 feet down the slope, my detector picked up a promising signal. Hidden beneath the overgrowth was Olivia’s beautiful white gold diamond wedding band, sparkling like it had been waiting to be found. Hope was restored.

Anthony admitted that before I arrived, he had already accepted the rings were gone forever. Now, with one ring recovered, we all believed the engagement ring would soon follow.

The First Setback

But the hillside had other plans. Despite another hour of searching, the engagement ring remained missing. Without the ability to properly grid the steep terrain—and with safety becoming a real concern—we had to call it a night. I assured Olivia and Anthony that I would return with full climbing and rappelling gear so I could safely and methodically search every inch of the slope.

Round Two: Precision Meets Persistence

Nearly a week later, I returned—this time fully equipped. Starting early in the morning, I brought out everything: metal detecting gear, rappelling equipment, grid lines, and even a battery-powered weed wacker to cut through the dense vegetation.

I carefully set up ropes and began working the hillside in sections, scanning each lane with precision. The process was slow, physically demanding, and required constant adjustments to avoid interference from my gear.

After nearly six hours of intense searching, covering a massive portion of the hillside…Nothing.

Just scrap metal and bits of shredded aluminum—what detectorists call “can slaw.” It was frustrating. Confusing. Disheartening. I left that day without the engagement ring, but not without a plan. I suggested searching the very bottom of the hill—an area previously dismissed due to its distance and extreme overgrowth.

The Final Attempt

The next day, after finishing other commitments, I couldn’t shake the feeling that the ring was still out there—waiting. I called Olivia and asked if I could return one last time. She gratefully agreed, sharing that she had prayed that very morning for the ring’s recovery.

When I arrived, Anthony and Olivia were ready. This time, we headed straight for the bottom of the hill—the toughest, most unlikely area. Thick vegetation covered the ground, and nearby scrap metal from a neighboring yard created constant interference.

Anthony helped by stomping down the overgrowth so I could sweep my detector across the surface. Signal after signal—none were right. Until one was. A number appeared on my screen—almost identical to the reading from the wedding band. I dropped to my knees, pulled out my pinpointer, and carefully searched beneath the weeds. Then I saw it. A faint glimmer of metal peeking through the dirt. It was the ring! Olivia’s white gold diamond engagement ring—found after three visits, hours of searching, and a relentless commitment to not giving up.

A Moment Worth Everything.

Anthony and I embraced, overwhelmed with relief and gratitude. We looked up and gave thanks to God, recognizing the incredible moment we had just experienced. At the top of the hill, Olivia saw me holding something in my hand. Even from a distance, she knew. Tears filled her eyes as the reality sank in. Both rings—recovered.

As we made our way back up, the celebration continued. That’s when Anthony shared something unexpected: It was Olivia’s birthday.
What started as a devastating loss turned into a storybook ending—one she’ll never forget.

Reflections from the Field

This search was a powerful reminder of something I’ve learned time and time again: Sometimes the answer lies just outside the expected path.
The engagement ring wasn’t missed during earlier searches—it was simply beyond the assumed boundary. Once we expanded the search area and pushed past the doubt, everything changed.

I left their home that day with a full heart, grateful to have played a part in reuniting Olivia with her treasured rings—and witnessing such a meaningful moment in their lives.

Buried Treasure on the Balcony: Two Rings Recovered from Flower Pots in Silver Spring, Maryland

  • from Washington (District of Columbia, United States)

Jack’s heavy palladium diamond ring featuring a brilliant 1-carat princess cut diamond which was reunited with its owner after being discovered buried in the soil of a planter. Also, Jack’s handsome men’s platinum wedding band was recovered from deep within a balcony flower pot after an unexpected loss during gardening.

Jack is shown completely relieved that both of his very special rings were recovered from the flower pots by metal detectorist Brian Rudolph.

By Brian Rudolph – Professional Ring Finder & Metal Detectorist
Owner, METAL DETECTING ADVENTURES INC (Clarksburg, Maryland)

Jack set out to enjoy a peaceful afternoon doing something he truly loved—gardening. On the back balcony of his condominium, he carefully planted flowers into the same pots he had used year after year. It was supposed to be relaxing. Rewarding. A simple pleasure.

But what began as a perfect afternoon quickly turned into a nightmare. After finishing up and heading back inside, Jack made a shocking discovery—both of his rings were gone. One was his handsome men’s platinum wedding band. The other was a heavy palladium ring featuring a stunning 1-carat princess cut diamond set into the band. The loss hit hard. These weren’t just valuable pieces of jewelry—they carried deep personal meaning.

Searching for Answers.

Unsure of what to do next, Jack began researching solutions. He looked into purchasing a metal detector but quickly realized that without professional-grade equipment—and experience—his chances of success would be slim, especially with the rings potentially buried deep inside large, soil-filled pots. That’s when he found my business, Metal Detecting Adventures Inc., along with my affiliation with The Ring Finders, a global directory of specialists dedicated to recovering lost valuables. Jack reached out. And just like that, the search was on.

Following the Clues

After hearing the full story, I had a strong suspicion: the rings likely slipped off his fingers while gardening. Between watering the plants and cooler temperatures causing slight hand shrinkage, it was entirely possible the rings fell unnoticed—either into the flower pots or even over the balcony. We scheduled a visit for the very next day.

The Search Begins

When I arrived, Jack showed me out to the balcony. There were about six large planter pots lined up, along with a few smaller ones sitting on a table.
I began scanning each pot using specialized metal detecting equipment, carefully analyzing the soil. Then—a signal.

One of my detectors picked up a reading consistent with a ring. I reached deep into the pot, pulling out a clump of soil. Nothing. Again. Nothing. A third time—this time checking the soil in my hand with my detector. The signal was there. Slowly, I opened my hand…And there it was!
A glint of metal emerged from the dirt—the unmistakable shape of Jack’s palladium diamond ring! Jack was overwhelmed. You could see it all over his face—relief, joy, disbelief. That ring meant everything to him.

One More to Go

Now we turned our attention to the missing platinum wedding band.
Pot by pot, I continued scanning. Then—another signal. This time, from one of the larger planters. We both held our breath as I carefully worked through the soil. Scoop after scoop, nothing appeared. But the detector insisted—it was there. Finally, after multiple passes, the signal lined up perfectly with the soil in my hand. I slowly brushed away the dirt…And a small piece of metal peeked through. The platinum wedding band! Recovered!

A Perfect Ending

Jack couldn’t contain his excitement. Both rings—lost during what seemed like an ordinary afternoon—had been hiding in plain sight the entire time, each in separate flower pots. What are the odds?

Moments like this are why I do what I do. Every search is different. Every recovery has its own story. And sometimes, the treasure you’re looking for isn’t miles away—it’s just buried beneath a handful of soil, waiting to be found.

Another successful recovery. Another happy ending.
