Lost Wedding Band Dropped From Boat Dock Found In Cape Carteret, NC

Mike was earlier doing some cleaning using various soaps.  Later that evening while relaxing on his boat dock with his wife he began to clean some of the soap residue from his figures.  It was a relaxing afternoon to sit, relax and enjoy the view and a beverage.  Mike started to clean his ring finger when the ring shot off of his finger, over his back and into the Intracoastal Waterway.

After getting the details, a through search began in the very soft muck bottom.  After 3 pieces of garbage were removed from the bottom a very good tone sounded off from my Minelab Excalibur II very close to the dock post.  My Garrett AT Pro-Pointer was used to search the shallow water for the tone.  A handful of muck with a shell and Mike’s wedding band was brought out of the water while Mike stood over his ring as it was lifted from the waterway.

**I received a call from a young frantic man who had only been married 1 month. He told me he went to the beach with his family over the Memorial Day Weekend and while packing up noticed his gold & diamond wedding ring was missing. He said he searched the entire area of the beach where they were and even the next day went and bought a metal detector still unable to find his ring. He lived out of State and was on is way home. I asked if a family member could meet me at the beach and show me the area he believed he lost the ring.  I searched the entire area and was unable to find the ring. I asked if he had been in the water? He told me he only went into the water to wash his hands but he made sure the ring was still on his finger when he got out of the water. He was positive the ring was not lost in the water. I checked the tide charts and decided to return later in the day. After searching the water area I was able to find his wedding ring.  Happy Wife = Happy Life…..

Lost Ring Pensacola Beach – FOUND!!!

It’s always been neat how this hobby of mine brings me together with people that end up having so much in common with me, regardless of where they come from. This time it was with Micah and Brooke who were in town from Louisiana for Micah’s brother’s graduation. It just so happened that my family have also been celebrating my daughter’s graduation on the same day. Brooke called me early Saturday morning and let me know that she and Micah had been at the beach the afternoon before and Brooke had taken off her rings and laid them on the towel. When she got up she popped the towel and only later realized that both rings had gone flying. When they realized what had happened, they came back and searched everywhere. Miraculously they were able to find the wedding band but couldn’t find the engagement ring anywhere. Brooke was distraught and they even went and purchased a metal detector. They quickly learned that an average machine just won’t work right on our beaches. Lots of tears were shed until luckily Brooke’s mom did some internet research and found me. They stayed up reading my stories until they trusted me enough to reach out and see if I could help. I am very glad that they did. We spoke that morning and agreed that it would be that evening until we would be done with all the graduation festivities. My wife came with me (she’s my lucky charm) and we met Micah and Brooke on the beach with only about 30 minutes left before dark. I consoled them both and told them not to worry that I was pretty good at searching even in the dark. We were a little worried because they weren’t exactly sure where they were the day before and overnight the tide had come way in and a lot of the beach was now covered in saltwater and seaweed. I told them that if it was still there, I would find it. This turned out to be a really large search and I methodically gridded out the areas as my wife kept them from being too worried. I finally came back and asked them both to pick a direction because it was definitely not in that area. When Brooke picked right and Micah picked left I said a little internal “uh oh” but started towards the left because I was closer to it. My favorite part of this story is that Brooke said after a few more passes is when she was starting to lose a little faith so she bowed her head to pray. That was about the exact same time that down the beach I asked God that if it was in his will, would He please put me where he wanted me. Sure enough only a few steps later in the wet sand and seaweed I got a perfect gold tone. As I pulled out her beautiful engagement ring I turned and headed towards them sitting on the beach. It took a little convincing in the dark that I really had found it until finally Brooke jumped up and saw it and gave me a huge hug. 😃 I am so glad I was able to find your ring and I wish you both many happy years together. The recovery that started it all: Lost diamond engagement ring lost in Milpitas, CA…Found!!!

I had seen the call for help go out over one of my many metal detecting groups.  When I offered my assistance I didn’t think I’d have the opportunity and thus went about packing for my Mount Diablo overnight with my boys and some friends.

When another md’ing friend asked if I was still available and that another of our piers had searched but had no luck, I again offered my assistance, packed some gear, and off I went.

The client took me to the 5th floor balcony from which the ring was lost and we observed the location from above.  After moving back down to ground level it was revealed that two rings went over the edge and one had been recovered that night from the planter bed.  Now, knowing that a searcher had previously swung over the area, I knew that if we were going to find it, it was going to be found within one of the many plants and bushes in the planter bed.

I offered the client the opportunity to assist by using a Garret pin-pointer to start probing the area including the foliage.  I did the same, and within 20 minutes or so, an ecstatic client exclaimed, « I’ve found it! »  It was indeed within one of the plants of the planter bed.  The stoke was high on both our parts and he requested « Can I give you a hug? » To which I replied « of course. »

The successful search and recovery sparked really good vibes that carried me throughout the weekend. This would serve as my first search as a member of The Ring Finders team and…we made the recovery!!!

Lost Engagement Ring In Fairfield, CA…Found!!!!!

After receiving a call from an obviously disappointed individual who had lost her engagement ring, I made my way out to Fairfield to conduct a search.

The family had spent numerous hours previously looking for the lost ring with little luck.

When I arrived the individual explained the circumstances and sequences of events that led to the somewhat mysterious disappearance.

I searched a good amount of time and was almost at the point of conceding when…

there it was!!!  We made the recovery!!!

***I received a call from this young man you told me that several days prior to him calling me he was standing in about two feet of water skimming rocks into the water at which time he felt his ring fly off his hand.  He told me the next day he bought a metal detector and tried to find his ring but but did not have any luck at all.  I informed him that if he directed me to the right area where he was in the water when he lost his ring that I believed I had a good chance of finding it even thou it had been a few days.  He was very hesitant because my profile did not show any recoveries. I informed him that I have recovered hundreds of rings but those recoveries were from different States and I could not display them in my Florida TheRingfinders profile. I texted him photos of many of my recoveries and informed him he had nothing to lose by letting me try and find his ring as there was no charge, if found reward only.

After searching for about a little over 1 hour I was thrilled to see the look on his face when  returned his favorite ring.

Plumber Looses Ring While Digging Ditch in Dallas

We got a call from a local team of plumbers who were digging a ditch in the cold December Texas weather and one of the men lost his wedding ring.  He was frantic, fortunately, we were available and went quickly to the site.  The hole was 4ft deep and full of horrible muddy water and muck.  After several passes with our large Metal Dectortors, we switched to our handheld detectors and checked all the walls by nearly standing on our heads reaching into the mucky muddy water hole.  But luck & skill were with us and we FOUND the man’s ring.  He was so excited, it was so funny watching 4 big plumbers jumping up and down and dancing in the front yard of the home.

ENGAGEMENT RING FOUND IN BATON ROUGE,LA-ONE DOWN ONE LEFT TO GO

Lauren called me around noon on a Tuesday. She had lost her engagement ring and wedding band on Sunday at an event called “Touch a Truck”. A wide variety of trucks, construction equipment, an ambulance, a helicopter, etc. were positioned in a large (over 3 acre) field for the inspection by adults and their children. Lauren and Corey took their young children to see and play on many of the exhibited vehicles. Starting out the adventure, Lauren placed her wedding rings in her pocket before applying sunscreen to the little ones. She also placed her phone in the same pocket. She took many photos of the kids, each time pulling the phone from her pocket. She noticed the rings missing when she returned to the car.

She sent me a map of the event and some photos she had taken. These photos would help me locate the areas where she had taken her phone out of her pocket. Carrie wasn’t feeling well, so I loaded up the equipment and took off alone. I decided first to go for pure luck and make passes the length of the field (600 feet) focusing more on sight than the detector since the area was very trashy with a very noisy detector. Also, the grass was short and not very dense. After a few passes I decided to check the photo and focus on where they were taken, and the phone removed from the pocket. One photo, which turned out to be the first one taken, showed a distinctive lone tree with a tree line behind it. From the photo I sectioned off a possible area where the photo was taken and hopefully the phone was removed from her pocket. I was making my turn to start the final pass in the hunt area and the engagement ring was sitting on top of the ground/grass in full view. I sent a photo to an ecstatic Lauren. Her husband Corey came out to collect the ring and help with analyzing the other photos to look for other hunt areas. After another 2 hours of hunting for the wedding band, I decided to call it a day and come back another time to continue the hunt. Thank you, Lauren, for the generous reward.

Lost wedding band, East Brunswick, NJ February 2022

I saw and add on a lost ring site that somebody had lost their wedding band while walking in a park. The add had all the pertinent information of the exact area it was lost. I quickly messaged Michelle explaining that she should just post the generic information due to the fact that unfortunately many people are dishonest, and may possibly go locate it and never return it to her. I also forwarded my ring finders link and told her if she needed help give me a shout. She liked my up front approach and honesty, so we arranged to meet at the park. we went over all the details, an while i was searching alongside the path, she walked with me to show exactly where she was. Unfortunately I had no luck, so I told her where to search in her car, post some flyers around spots she had went, an MOST importantly, do not through out her trash, but go home and dump it out and sift through it very carefully. 2 days later she messaged me in total shock, YES she found it stuck to a box. Although I did not locate it with my machine, I positively, with my knowledge in lost rings and jewelry, get 100% credit for her finding her beautiful platinum/diamond ring.

Ring lost in Alpine Found

April contacted me yesterday asking if I could travel to Alpine, Ca. to search for a lost wedding ring. Sure I could! We made arrangements to meet today at 1pm to conduct the search. It seems that after dark the night before, in a momentary fit of pique, she threw the ring across the street from her house toward the front yard of a neighbor. She shortly regretted her actions, and with her husband, searched for hours with an inexpensive metal detector without success. After getting the description and likely area where the ring should have landed, I started a grid search in the ice plant with my Equinox, while my wife did a visual search along the street, sidewalk and yard area. After a little over 15 minutes and several pieces of foil later, I got a good signal in the ice plant right next to a bush. I pulled some of the surface branches aside and ran my pin pointer down inside. Just as I received a signal, I could just see the beautiful white gold engagement/wedding ring. My wife went back across the street to give them the good news. After showing them where the ring ended up, I removed it from it’s hiding place and handed it to a happy April. A pleasure to meet you and thank you for the reward.
