Canadian visitor finds his ring and some PURE MICHIGAN hospitality.

I found a mans gold wedding ring tonight for one of our Canadian neighbors who is in town working. He was staying at Hampton Inn in Wyoming, MI and walked 1 block from the Inn to Spectrum lanes for a bite to eat. Because of his job he  takes off his ring. Sunday night before going out he had put his ring in his back pocket and later discovered he had a hole in his pocket when he got back to the motel.
Justin W. found me on line and gave me a call. Living close by I told him I would meet him at the motel at 7 pm. I called Dave Boyer my Ring Finder partner and after some obvious questions we started the search. Dave went North from the lanes and Justin and I walked South from the motel.
We waited for the light to change at 54th and Clyde Park to cross. While standing at the crosswalk I looked out in the intersection just outside the crosswalk between the lanes and I saw what looked like gold foil, as we crossed the street I bent down and picked up what was the ring. When I got to the other side I looked at Justin and said « is this your ring? » Justin holding back his emotions and looking at the slightly bent and pitted gold ring from being run over, smiled and acknowledged it was his ring. Justin’s picture was not available for our book of smiles because of his emotions over the found ring, he is very happy though.
Justin lost the ring on Sunday night it sat in one of the busier intersections for 5 days only to be found by The Ring Finder on a Friday night.

There is an additional picture to add to this story. As I had mention to Justin yesterday, he should go to Russell & Ballard Jewelers to fix the ring. He did just that Saturday morning and Colin Ballard took care of his ring and here is the picture.

Lost ring in Lake Of The Ozarks Mo.

I received a call from Dave on July 4 as I was traveling to recover a ring in Illinois. He said his wife saw the ring fall into the water just inches from the boat dock. What a sinking feeling that must have been!
Upon learning that the location was just 7ft deep with a fairly solid bottom, I told Dave « piece of cake, I can be there tomorrow ». The trip is 4.5 hrs. therefore Dave said he would check for a place to stay the night.
Dave had asked his best friend Bob and Bob’s dad (property owner) to assist me in finding the ring. Upon my arrival we set up the diving equipment and started the search. I quickly realized that there were some adverse conditions involved with using a metal detector. We knew where
the ring went down but it wasn’t sitting there on top of the leaves, twigs, limbs, logs and misc. metal trash. The ring had sank deeper due to being disturbed from previous attempts at finding it!
We soon resorted to drilling holes in my 5 gal. bucket and then using it to bring up mud. Bob and his dad scanned the mud with my spare detector. Upon dumping the 18th bucket of mud they saw the shine of a beautiful triple wedding ring. Their mood changed from frustration to intense jubilation. I drove 3 hrs. to personally return the ring to Erica and Dave who had been at work the last couple days. To finally meet this great couple was a very pleasant experience.
It needs to be stressed to everyone to not disturb the site of a ring lost under water. Just get with theringfinders.com.
I enjoy the challenge of solving problems which others have attempted. I especially enjoy the smiles I get upon returning a very cherished piece of someone’s life.

Sentimental Silver Cross Lost .. Victoria Beach, Laguna,CA. .. Found

Robert called, asking if I was available to help him find a silver cross in the sand at Victoria Beach, South Laguna. This was a sentimental keepsake that his wife had for many years and she was devastated with the thought that she would never see it again.

He could not meet me at the location as he had a meeting that next morning. For me it was not necessary for Robert to be there. His description of where they had been was clear and would be easy to find. All I had to do was be there early enough to beat any other detectorists to the beach. Besides I know there is a missing silver cross and nobody else knows that.

As I suspected, I reached the area to the right of the lifeguard tower and began my grid. Three passes and Boom! Robert’s wife’s cross in the scoop. Called Robert with the good news. Robert me met a few hours later picking up the cross and telling me that he was going to surprise his wife when he got home. I wish I could have seen that. Another fun search with a happy couple that I enjoyed helping.

Mercedes Electronic Key Lost at Manhattan Beach, CA…Found.

I received a call from a young man Wednesday evening, explaining how he had lost the electronic key to his Mercedes, and asked if I would be able to help. It had happened just a couple of hours before, so I knew the likelihood of a recovery was good. We arranged to meet within a half hour, and I was on my way.

When I got there he explained that he had left the key on his towel when he went into the water, and when he picked up the towel, the key vanished. He and his friends had searched the area quite thoroughly before I got there, as I could tell by the grid lines in the sand where he took me to. I began my search, and came up with numerous bottle caps and other metal debris, but no key. It was then when I got out of the search area, that I got a good hit in my head phones, and dug. There in my scoop was the key, which when seen, caused the young man to run over an greet me with shouts of joy and hugs. It must have been a sight to see. He did not want his picture taken, but his friend volunteered for a picture. A fun day indeed.

Man’s Platinum Wedding Band Lost, Found and Returned Pawley’s Island SC

Mark sent me an e-mail saying he was in Pawley’s Island SC vacationing with his family from PA and asked if I could help find his wedding band. I responded saying I’d be glad to help and I’d be there the next day at 2pm.

When I arrived Mark showed me the small area he believed his ring was lost the night before while sitting on the beach enjoying the evening. He stated he had taken his ring off and put it in the cup holder to his beach chair.  A couple  of hours later after returning to their beach house he realized he didn’t have his ring and had forgotten it in the chair. I started a grid search and was having problems with my PI giving off a loud constant steady tone instead of the whisper tone I was expecting. Luckily I had brought another machine and after about 30 minutes and expanding my grid search out I hit a good signal and BINGO. I kept the ring in the scoop as I extended it out to Mark to retrieve. He was extremely excited to have his ring back on his finger.

Lost Ring Orange Beach – Found!

Today was a great day!  I was on the way to pick up my son when Josh from North Alabama called.  Josh was frantic because he had lost his wedding band in the gulf a few hours earlier while throwing football with a family member.  His wife said not to bother even calling because they were in waist deep water and she thought it was a lost cause.  Josh looked up Ringfinders and got my number and decided to take a chance.  I am so glad he did!  The best part of today was that my son got to go and see what I do for people.  When I finally found it, I let my son hand it to Josh and my boy has not stopped talking about « how happy they were ».  Now he completely understands why I like finding things for people they thought were lost forever.  So Nice to meet you and your family Josh.  I am so glad I was able to find your wedding ring.

Lost Diamond and Platinum Ring in Zuma Beach Found in Rocks and Returned

I was metal detecting on Sunday morning with a friend at Huntington Beach at about 5:00 in the morning and took a break at 11:00 to get a snack. I saw that I had a few missed calls, so I checked my voice mails and called back. Veronica answered the phone, and told me that her mom Anna, had lost her diamond ring the day before at Nicholas Beach, about 80 miles away just north of Zuma Beach. Five minutes later, I was on my way. Once I got off the 10 freeway in Santa Monica over an hour later, I hit Pacific Coast Highway. Sunday beach traffic was quite challenging. An hour later I met up with Veronica. I followed her down to the beach and met Anna and her husband. What a nice couple! They showed me where they put the ring into a chair pocket the day before, and thought it was lost in that area in the sand. I worked the grid pattern and worked with the detector down to the water’s edge, but no signals. I hoped that the previous night’s high tide hadn’t bur  ied the ring or swept it out to sea. I asked Anna to retrace her steps when she left in a hurry because the high tide was coming in and covered most of the beach with waves. I worked the detector in between the rocks and got some large iron signals. Then I went over her husband’s matching ring to see the sound it was creating. I detected a few more minutes between the beach and the stairs and I got a crisp, loud signal. I said, « this sounds promising! » The next thing I knew, the ring was in my scoop. I handed it to her husband and he handed it to Anna, who was overwhelmed with joy. They had been happily married over 20 years and her ring was custom made, so it was extremely sentimental. It was a 3 hour drive home in Sunday beach traffic, but the looks of happiness and gratitude on their faces made it all worthwhile. It was a pleasure to help such a great family.

Lost pendant and cross recovered

After losing a pendant my father gave me thirty five years ago and a tiny cross in an English field of long grass whilst hiking, I never thought I’d see them again.   Then we found theringfinders.com and got in touch with Constantine.  Constantine was fantastic – he changed his plans for last Sunday to come out to a field in the middle of nowhere to look for my jewellery and found these tiny objects in really really long grass!!
Throughout it all, Constantine was also really great to chat with, really supportive and extremely helpful, even picking me up from our B&B.  Really appreciated his help and would recommend him to anyone – thank you so much for all your help, Constantine!!

Lost gold wedding ring, Lake Michigan, Dune Acres Indiana, Porter County

Got a text from a lady who had lost her white gold wedding ring yesterday in Lake Michigan at a “boater’s beach”, in about 4 to 5 feet of water.

She put me in contact with her husband Wade, who said he had a “pretty good idea where it was lost”.

The next morning I drove to the slip, met with Wade, loaded up my gear in his boat and we started for the site of the lost ring.

The wind was picking up, the waves were growing larger. Even in the large cabin cruiser/speedboat it was a fairly slow and rough ride to the sandbar site. When we first spoke after I arrived there, he said he was pretty sure of the location and it was “about a hundred yard sized area”. He actually thought he had seen the ring laying in the sand yesterday while looking for it. He dove down, grabbed at where he through it was, but came up with only handfuls of sand.

I was concerned with Wade having an accurate enough location to narrow the search area, as one hundred yards in the water would take quite some time to cover, essentially a needle in a haystack!

Luckily, Wade had taken some photos yesterday and had his geolocation enabled for the photos. He retrieved the data, plugged in the GPS coordinates in Google Maps and essentially drove us right to the spot.

Wade and I set the front and back anchors, the boat was getting thrashed pretty bad by some larger rogue waves breaking at the sandbar.

Being the 4th of July, Wade got the flag out to fly.

I jumped in and began searching, the wind had blown in some fresh chilly offshore water. The area had lots of black sand and the waves were getting to be a hindrance.

I basically grid searched the area where Wade thought the ring would be. After about twenty minutes or a half hour, I had covered the location around the boat and about twenty yards in each direction thoroughly.

I had brought a spare detector and had earlier mentioned to Wade that he was welcome to utilize it. He asked if there was anything he could do, I told him he was welcome to try using the other detector. I set it up, showed him how it should sound for a ring and told him to just tell me if it makes that noise.

Literally, in less than five minutes, while he was searching slightly closer to shore, he excitedly yells to me “It’s doing something here!”, “ It’s making that noise!”, “Right here!”.

I made my way over, checked the target, it sounded like a nice smooth mid-tone, gently scooped it up, and there was what appeared to be a nice white gold wedding ring in my scoop.

Wade was super excited and relieved at the same time. Even better yet, he actually get’s to say that he found his wife’s special ring for her!

He had mentioned some things that hadn’t gone so well for him in the recent month’s, but said this made it all better.

I was happy to help him find his wife’s lost ring!

This was a rather unique recovery, with him actually being the finder of the ring, thanks to my gear and a quick rundown of how it works. Actually glad it worked out that way, makes the tale that much better!

Lost Gold Ring Found in Washington Township Michigan

Happy Belated Mother’s Day!

This nice lady gave me a call asking for help in finding a lost ring that was lost last weekend at an outdoor event at an open field behind her neighbor’s condo across the street. The ring was given to her from her mother and family for mothers day. She tried raking the area but was unable to pull it up. In listening to the circumstances she wasn’t sure where it may be since she was shopping and put the ring on her pinky and realized it must have slipped off during the day’s travels…as this was not the usual finger it was worn on. Waiting for the rain to pass, we checked her vehicle and talked more about where she last remembered having it on her pinky. Nothing showed up in the vehicle and the rain lightened up enough to search the field area.

I got a feeling to search from where her husband dropped her off at the curb, where she was carrying chairs to the event tents. Setting up my MXT I started to grid and got that sweet signal of gold! Coming in as +10 on the meter this beautiful ring was hiding right under the grass which was scheduled to be cut today and if it had surely would have been hit by the blade.

As I held it up you could see the happiness on her face, the smiles, and exclamations of excitement upon finding this gorgeous sentimental ring!
