Lost Silver Ring At Jericho Beach…Found!

My wife and I gave a ride to a friend from work few weeks ago and we talked about TheRingFinders and how we help people find there lost jewellery…Flash back a couple of weeks and my wife meets Liz at a concert and they start talking and Beverly mentions TheRingFindersw and her friends expression tells her that she’s going to hear a story of a lost ring and so we begin!

The story was that she gave her boyfriend a nice silver ring 3 months ago and how he lost it a few days ago. They searched for hours but couldn’t find the ring and her boyfriend felt naked without his ring. We made a date to search for the ring and we picked Liz up and she showed us the area the ring was lost in, long grass and hard to find without a detector. Diamond ring lost and found at Mission beach

It was a another sunny day in San Diego when I received a call asking for help from a lady in Mission beach who had lost her wedding rings.She said they had sifted through the sand and managed to find the band but not the main diamond ring.
I was just getting home from another lost ring search but immediately made a U-Turn and said I was on my way.

Upon arriving to the scene of the lost rings
I was shown a small 10X10 foot area where it disappeared into the sand.X-Marks the spot.I told her this wouldn’t take very long to find,Then could see the worries from her facial expression disappearing as well. I also had to park in a 15min loading Zone so a speedy recovery was Keene. I began a search with my state of the art Metal Detector and found the precious ring in just 1 beep..or a minute!

I surprised her with it in my sand scoop shovel while the tears with hugs electrified all around. These are the best kinda rewards when you feel like a hero or at least did a professional deed to help someone in need.

Bracelet recovered on Manasquan Beach by Dennis Burlingame

Got a call from Chuck asking if I could help find a bracelet his friend Sandy lost on the beach. They were out on the beach and she noticed her bracelet was missing. She wasn’t sure when it came off but they marked off the area they were sitting and hoped it was there, if not it could of been on the path they walked. She had it 20 years and was really hoping on getting it back. Turned out the clasp broke. I started to work the area they were sitting and on the 3rd pass back and forth I found her bracelet. Chuck had walked back up to the house while I detected not knowing how long it was going to take, he made it up to the house when I called to tell him I found it. He couldn’t believe how quick it took. I met him at the house and talked till Sandy came by to get her bracelet. She was so grateful and happy she got her bracelet back. The smile on her face said it all. Another happy ending and great recovery.

Lost Gold Pendent Found in North Vancouver…

I got a call from a young man who lost a gold pendent, he told me that it was given to him by his father who was a fireman for 25 years and wore this pendent in over a 1000 calls. It was a gold firefighters helmet with the truck number inscribed on the front of the helmet and two dates on the underside. His father gave him the pendent when he retired and his son started in the same Fire Department and truck the day his father retired.

Needless to say it was very important to find this pendent and continue the story so one day his son could have it and know the history of these two great men that put their lives on the line to help others. So we discuss the search area and i start to detect and I’m getting nails and not much else. he shows me that he made a sifter and was checking for the ring but gave up. He dumped the sifter and guess what…It was in the dirt from the sifter! It’s funny where these irreplaceable items show up!

I received a text message from a gentleman who had lost his ring in the surf 2 days prior and asked for my help.He also posted on Craigslist in the lost and found add about the ring with a detailed location which is a big concern.I checked the tide book for the best time to search for it.The lowest tide was around midnight. So I set my alarm and slept a few hours before hand with one eye open.

As I showed up to the scene of the lost ring I was surprised not to see other metal detector guys scouring the exact area to maybe help? Or maybe to score some gold for their collection? As I began searching I could see 2 headlamps nearly a 1/4 mile down the beach going in & out of the water. Hmmm..I thought?  Ironically enough it was 2 Metal Detector Guys. I’m not sure what they were searching for or if they had any luck with Gold in da scoop though?

After 30min of scanning using only the moonlight to see I came across a special signal that was a non-ferrous metal about 6-8inches deep. I dug it up and there was his precious wedding ring in my hand.

The next morning I sent a picture of the ring to the owner who confirmed it was his and then drove to the post office to mail it back east as he was just returning home from their vacation in San Diego.
Another successful hunt with a happy ending.

…. Max and Paula had driven to Newport Beach and found a place to walk on the beach on the Balboa Penesula. After walking down the beach Max decided to take a quick swim in the ocean. He took off his sunglasses and platinum wedding ring putting them in his baseball cap then set the hat on the sand. 

After returning to dry off he picked up his hat and the ring went directly into the sand. He knew right away what had happened but after an hour of searching with his hands he went to the internet for help. He contacted me through TheRingFinders website. I was two miles away with my equipment and was able to meet Max and Paula on the beach right away.

I started up my metal detector, took a couple practice swings then started a short 10 ft. square search grid. Two pieces of metal trash followed by a positive non ferrous metal reading. It had to be Max’s platinum ring. I was so positive that I let Max reach down to retrieve the ring. It still took him about four grabs with his fingers to get it but he was overjoyed to have his ring that he has worn everyday for more than twenty years. 

It was a special search and I was happy to be available to get to their location in a timely matter. Thanks to internet, cellphones and TheRingFinders.com.

Lost Diamond Wedding Band on Private Beach Found and Returned Eastham, MA

August 23rd Connie lost her wedding band just after applying insect repellent to her son. Searching for 2 days, it could not be found. Upon wakening on Saturday morning, Connie took a friend’s advice about TheRingFinders and called me. Two hours later she had the ring back on her finger where it belonged. Was it a coincidence or fate? Connie, her Husband Steven and their son were staying at a home owned by the Browne’s, my last name is Browne, and had lost a Gold ring, their last name is Gold. The ring was found and returned by a Ring Finder. All this on Steven’s birthday. A Happy Day for Everyone!

Wedding / Anniversary Set Lost and Found In Time For Flight Home from Harwich, MA

August 23rd at 5:35pm a voice mail for help was left on my home phone. I had been out detecting and did not answer the voice mail until 6:20. At that time I was told that a fellow detectorist, Luke, was already in the water searching. Knowing the search ethics of Luke I was sure he would find the ring set and all would be good again. To my surprise Janet called again this time to say Luke had detector problems and was unable to locate the ring. She continued to tell me the tide would be low at 5AM and ask if could I come and help that early. Sure I could, but I would rather wait until sun rise and we agreed 5:30 would be OK. I was in the water with information from Luke, Janet and her friend Diane on the location where the ring should be. Luke had cleaned out many nuisance items and I had very few surface targets. However, I did retrieve two rings, neither were the one I was searching for. It was getting very close to the time Janet needed to leave to make her morning flight back home. About 15 minutes to the deadline the ring set was in my scoop, close to where she and Diane said it was lost. Well, I went in to tell Janet that I had found two rings, neither of which were hers and she started to get ready to leave. I then said “but the third…look in the scoop…” Unbelievable rejoicing was her (and Diane’s) response. A rush ensued to take a few pictures for the memory bank and exchange of contact info then it was off the the airport. With her most cherished – I’ll just say “of several years” – ring set made of her wedding band and two anniversary bands, Janet made a safe trip home, thrilled to have her ring back on her finger.

Nolan’s Recovered Gold Wedding Band from murky Lake Sammamish

Nolan was swimming in Lake Sammamish at his parents lake front property. While treading water Nolan felt his custom made wedding band slip off his finger down to the thick silty lake bed below. Even though a very strong swimmer with excellent breath holds he was unable to locate his lost ring in only eight feet of water. Lost it on Tuesday, contacted me on Wednesday and I arrived on Thursday morning to perform the search and recovery. Nolan and his family had left the day before my arrival on site so his father pointed out the area he was swimming in.

Once again an extremely difficult search without the proper equipment and some experience to go along with the gear. As you will see in the video this ring was not a visible recovery and would only be found with the aid of a diver with proper underwater metal detection equipment.  Even with some experience this recovery took two hours under water to recover even when knowing the approximate location.  It’s a big lake and very small target as the saying goes it holds true even under water « It’s a game of inches! »

You will see a very condensed view of the recovery, edited out for time were areas of very thick milfoil growth and times when the very silty bottom got disturbed by my actions reducing the visibility to near zero.  The aid of the rope line underwater has once again proven to be extremely beneficial in this type of search to keep a strait bearing ensuring every inch of the intended search area is covered! The end result was a successful recovery with smiles all around!

Wedding ring lost while body surfing in Huntington Beach

I made contact with Amy after I heard that her husband John had lost his ring while body surfing. I met them at the beach around 8pm so John could show me the location. Unfortunately the tide was at it’s high for the day and I could not find it. I told them I would search again when the tide is lower. The next day during the afternoon low tide I was able to locate the ring with my brand new metal detector in about 15 minutes. It was exactly in the area where John said he lost it.

I called Amy with the good news and she came to the beach to pick up the ring. Amy said she was going to wait until John got home to surprise him with the ring.
