Gold Diamond Wedding Band Returned to Owner After Giving Up Hope.

  • from Ponte Vedra Beach (Florida, United States)

On 10/10/22 I was out detecting at Ponte Vedra Beach, Fl. when I was approached by a lady who asked me mid I had found a gold and diamond wedding band. Shem told me that she had lost her wedding band of 17 years and was heartbroken. She showed me the area where she thought she had lost the ring. I searched for a few hours with no luck finding it. She thanked me for my time and said that she was positive it could not be found since the ring was very small and several days have passed. I asked her for her contact information and told her not to « lose faith » as I have found many rings long after they were lost. I returned to the area the next day and continued my search for her ring which I was so happy to find. I texted the owner a picture of the ring and she called me back crying with tears of joy. It’s such a great feeling to be able to return something so sentimental.  Later that day after returning her ring she sent me a nice testimonial.

TESTIMONIAL:

Adam, you are my hero! Thank you from the bottom of my heart!

I just wanted to thank you again. My visit to the beach at our The Lodge & Club on 10/7/22 was one of the worst days because I lost my wedding band.

When I saw you with your metal detector the following Sunday, I had no idea your talent when I approached you to ask if your equipment could find a lost ring. Our conversation gave me a glimmer of hope. When you texted me on Monday 10/10/22 with a picture of my ring, I was literally in tears that you had found my wedding band.

It’s truly a miracle. I am without words that express my gratitude. Adam, you are my hero! Thank you from the bottom of my heart!

Sincerely Kelly L.

Wedding Rings Lost And Found in Garbage After Christmas Party! South Milwaukee, Wisconsin

  • from Menomonee Falls (Wisconsin, United States)

A home Christmas party with friends and family is usually a fun time. So it was, for South Milwaukee hosts, Melissa and Matthew Graff. But then their joy turned to desperation when Melissa’s wedding rings went missing.

In the process of cleaning up after the party, Melissa vaguely remembered removing her rings and setting them on a kitchen shelf beside the microwave oven. The location was her usual place to put them. But when she returned the next day to put her rings back on her hand, the rings were nowhere to be found!

I received a phone call from Melissa on Monday evening and provided guidance and suggestions of places to search. We also began to establish a timeline of events as best as the couple could remember. Time, along with the trauma of losing such a precious item, has a way of blurring one’s memory.

My ability as metal detecting specialist is somewhat limited inside a home. Wiring, nails, screws, metal ductwork and pipes, make it challenging to isolate a small ring inside a house. An “estate search,” as we detectorists call it, can also be invasive. But I can assist forensically by narrowing down the possibilities.

For example, could the ring have gone down the kitchen sink? Had the garbage been taken out? Had they checked the washer and the dryer? Were pockets, clothing and shoes checked? Had they vacuumed the floor? Were there pets in the home? These and host of other questions help narrow the search areas. The couple continued looking that day without success. The next evening, Tuesday, I arranged to meet on location.

In reviewing the timeline, I asked if they knew when the last party guest left. Technology came to the rescue when a security camera at the front door logged a video and the time whenever the entry was breached. We watched as each guest left and noted the times. The last event, remarkably, recorded Melissa’s hand reaching up to the door. It clearly showed her wedding ring on her hand. And since Melissa had not left her home since then, the ring still had to be somewhere in the house.

I checked the sink drains, heat registers, under the stove and fridge. No ring. Then two large bags of garbage begged investigation. We placed a tarp out on the front lawn and emptied the first bag. I systematically scanned the contents with my metal detector but no ring surfaced. We did the same for the second bag. It was when we were just about to put everything back that Melissa’s ring suddenly appeared on the tarp amidst cookie crumbs and leftover donuts!

It was an emotional moment for sure! The garbage was scheduled for pick up the very next morning. Thankfully we had been able to search through the bags before then. As for how the rings ended up in the garbage, this will forever remain a mystery. Who knows! But Melissa and Matthew’s smiles tell the rest of this happy-ending story!

I received a text last night from Vincent asking if a metal detector could detect a Tungsten Ring. It was lost while he was shoveling snow on his driveway. I agreed to meet up with him around 11am today.
Vincent showed me the area where his ring could be so I search the area but No ring was found.
I went to the other side of his driveway and searched a snow bank about 20’ x 3’ wide and Bingo there was Vincent’s ring. I called Vincent over and he was over the moon to have his ring back on his finger.
This was the second time Vincent had lost a ring.
Another very happy Client! Thank you Vincent

Gold Bracelet Found – Raleigh!

  • from Raleigh (North Carolina, United States)

I received a call from Luis, a local guy who had lost a gold bracelet while at work. Luis was working at a construction site and on this particular day, had been spreading hay straw on top of tall dirt piles to minimize the erosion from the rain that was expected to roll in. When I arrived at the job site and Luis showed me where he had been working and it was looking like a tough recovery. The dirt piles he had mentioned were steep, 18-20 feet tall, and because of the recent heavy rains, wet and muddy. Add to this the complication that the piles were full of construction debris:  wire, nuts and bolts, aluminum cans, etc., and covered with hay straw. Luis had bought an inexpensive metal detector and tried to find the bracelet himself, but had not had any luck. Unfortunately, because Luis and his co-workers had already tried to find the bracelet, they had walked all over the dirt piles, which had probably pushed the bracelet down into the mud.

Luis did have a matching gold necklace which I was able to scan, so at least I had a good idea what signal to look for. Luis showed me the paths that he had taken up and down the dirt piles while spreading the straw, so I started in and began making my way across in a rough grid pattern. It took probably 30  minutes to find the bracelet, which had washed down the dirt pile and was about 3 inches from being washed into a nearby water drainage ditch. The bracelet had been pushed about 1/2 inch down into the mud and wasn’t visible from the surface. Definitely a tough recovery and I felt relieved that I was able to locate and return the bracelet. Another Happy Ending!

18k White Gold Wedding Ring Lost, Weir Industrial S/E Edmonton Alberta.

Gaurav called me this morning requesting my service to locate his 18k white gold wedding ring which he had just lost while brushing snow off his car. He and a friend spent about one hour searching around the car with no luck and gave up.

Gaurav did a Google search and found me! The rest is history.

I meet Gaurav in the parking lot where the ring was lost and he told me what had happened.  I could see where he had been searching and the pile of snow which he had pushed to the side. I gave Gaurav one of my test rings and told him to show me how he was brushing the snow and to let the ring go to see which direction the ring flew.  The ring landed in the area where he had shoveled the snow to a pile, so I knew without a shadow of a doubt that the ring had to be in that pile of snow.  Bingo, I called Gaurav over and told him I had found his ring.  He was very happy to have the ring back on his finger! He told me that he had just gotten married three weeks ago and that he had also missed his flight back home to Vancouver today because he had to find his ring.

I was very pleased to be able to give Gaurav a happy and memorable stay in Edmonton.

Lost White Gold Ring Found in Bloomfield Michigan

  • from Detroit (Michigan, United States)

Don’t Sweat the FALL Stuff….

…As the last of the leaves have fallen and autumn’s still callin’, there was a few more tasks Jay was eager to complete before the holidays approached. After splitting a few logs, he was left with untangling the Christmas lights and installing them throughout the yard. With darkness closing in he quickly threaded the wires through the bushes. Stepping back to take in a wider view, he turned them on and admired his work. Back inside the house he noticed his ring was missing. Terribly concerned, he spent a restless night wondering where it was. I arrived the next day, chatted with his wife and got the details of where to look for the ring while he was at work. Using my MXT metal detector I did a quick grid search around the perimeter in the grass with no luck. Scanning in closer to the bushes I got some random pieces of aluminum. Continuing along the sidewalk leading to the house I got a solid signal in the middle of two bushes. Using my pin-pointer I got a signal and reaching down the wire I pulled it from under some leaves and saw his ring over one of the Christmas lights! I was thrilled and ran to the door. When his wife opened the door, I held up the ring and as she saw it in my hand, she smiled saying how excited and relieved she was that it was found and the overwhelming thoughts of where it was had been solved. I said let’s « fall » it a day and assured her that there’s always someone and a way to solve a problem……then she said…. and today it was theringfinders!

Lost gold ring at a Christmas tree farm in Langley

I received a text message yesterday evening in regards to lost gold and diamond ring. This was a young ladies wedding band, she went on to tell me the story of the ring and how important it was to her and how sad she was that she had lost it. The good news was she was most certain it was lost at a Christmas tree farm in Langley. The story of the ring as it was a gift from her late father to give to her daughter one day, these stories always pulls at the heart strings.

We set up a time to meet in the morning, the owners were so kind to let us go in and do the search, after meeting the young couple, and hearing their story about where they believe the ring was lost and for the fact that husband pinned the location where they cut the tree down and where they believed the ring may have come off her finger ,that was such a blessing he marked the location!

Most times people forget the most important things and that’s a landmark or in this situation, pinning the location so that he could get back to it. Let’s face it there’s a lot of trees there and it would be so difficult to find the exact location which is so important when you’re looking for something that small. After a short time searching the ring was found under a Christmas tree, it was a good thing that nobody had cut that one down because they would’ve easily seen the ring laying underneath it.

So many factors play in these searches, and one is asking the right questions in order to get into the area and after listening carefully to her story there was two locations I was very interested in and I started in the one I felt I had the best chance… It only took minutes to find her ring & smile.

>>> Russ called me asking for help to find his platinum wedding ring. He had been playing with his dog in the backyard. Soon after going inside the house he discovered his platinum wedding ring was not on his finger. Although he didn’t feel the ring come off his finger he believed the ring had to be somewhere in the backyard.

He used a rake to try dislodge the ring from the grass. After several hours, he gave up and went to the internet for ideas on how to search for a ring. While online he found TheRingFinders site and my contact information. He called me that afternoon. I found out that he could be home to let me search the small back yard grass and planters.

After arriving at his home in Rancho Santa Margarita, CA., Russ showed me a nice grass backyard with planters all around the perimeter. It looked promising as the lawn was deep grass, perfect to hide a heavy platinum ring.

I gave Russ a bit of a tutorial on my detector and how I would begin my search. He understood that it was going to be a tedious process and he went inside the house. My plan was to eliminate the grass then attack the ground level planters. Well, I was three quarters through the grass area when I took a swing into one of the planters, BOOM!! a nice tone in my earphones that I had to inspect with my pinpointer. Russ’s ring was no longer lost.

I went to their back door to inform them that I had found the ring. It was still in its hiding place, so I directed them to the location. After pointing out where it was they still couldn’t see it. It’s amazing how the silver color of platinum, silver or white gold can almost act as camouflage in dirt or any shaded location. It was a happy occasion for all of us. Technology wins again..
