Received a call about a person having lost their Apple Watch while diving off an old train bridge into a local canal/waterway near Glen Ross, Ontario. With the help of Diving partner, we were able to return the watch to the owner. Very lucky as conditions were very difficult with tons of weeds and silt. Yet another happy customer.
Got a phone call to go look for a couple rings that a lady had lost a couple days ago while swimming at a camp ground near Bancroft. After 4 1/2 hours of swinging the coil, and drinking tons of water to beat off the heat, I found them both about 3 feet appart in knee deep water. One happy lady and now, they can relax and enjoy the rest of their family vacation 🙂. Big thanks goes to Steve Zazulyk for putting me onto this call. You know anyone who has lost jewelry, on land or in water (down to 100 feet, Scuba), send me a PM. I cover anywhere between Kingston, Bancroft and Cobourg (including Prince Edward County). Life is good 😊

This afternoon I received a call from a young lady who’s husband lost his ring in shallow water while paddleboarding at kits beach. She told me her husband was still in the water with others searching for the ring. I told her to tell him to relax and that I’d be there in 45 minutes, I assured her I would find the ring if it was there.
The most important thing I told her was to mark the location where he belived it came off his finger. So many times people panic and forget to make mental notes of the approximate location the ring came off which makes it very difficult as we are looking for something very small in the ocean.
When I arrived and met Sam we talked a little bit and he showed me where the ring came off his finger. I grab my gear and headed into the water and after 15 minutes I tightened up my grid search and ask more questions, there’s a lot of iron pieces, pull tabs, and bottle caps in this area. I knew I would find his ring and I was listening for a very loud short signal in about 25 minutes I got that signal and pulled out Sam’s beautiful white gold wedding band. Sam was spot on with the location the only thing was that the tide went out by the time I got there and the ring was found close to shore.
I’ll never get tired of what I do, I absolutely love finding people smiles and seeing the reactions when I find their ring and put it back in their hand. I also get to meet some amazing great people and Sam is one of them, I have the best job in the world! Thanks for the virtual hug Sam and the kind reward, historical times this COVID-19.

I received a call to help a young lady find her ring that she lost a few nights ago at White Rock beach. We talked on the phone and she told me the story how her ring was lost, spending the night at the beach with friends having a few drinks, and just being young and having fun, she felt her ring slip off her finger while in the water at about waist deep. Polina then told me the story behind the ring and how much it meant to her to find it, I was up for the challenge.
This was a bit of a hike down to the beach as it’s not a place I normally search, Polina sent me pictures of the area and told me a friend of hers had searched a couple of times with the metal detector in hopes of finding her ring. ( Nice guy)!
Polina decided to meet me that day to show me the areas she was in and where she believed the ring was lost. The poor thing, she was pretty beat up from the coral on the rocks, she could barely walk, she was so cut up and scraped up. When we made it down to the beach I could tell it was going to be a very difficult search due to the size of the rocks in the area, the one good thing was Polina remembered a rock that was a pyramid shape where she believed the ring may have slipped off her finger.
With alcohol and the fact that it was dark out and the beach was lit by the moonlight, it was almost hard to believe she could remember seeing such a rock. When we got to the beach she pointed out a pyramid-shaped rock that she wanted me to check around and I did, but had no luck. I took a look around and started to do a grid search the best I could do considering the difficulty of the size of rocks in the area. After approximately two hours I found her beautiful ring! Guess what it was near, yes the pyramid-shaped rock… Amazing! Polina was correct in believing she had lost the ring by a pyramid-shaped rock… Fantastic memory! Great Smile & happy ending.
Polina was walking down the beach quite a ways away when I found the ring, I decided I was going to fake her out and tell her my batteries were dead in my metal detector and I had to go to my car… That’s when I surprised her with the ring!

Tom posted to the community that he had lost his wedding ring in a populated area. After seeing his post I quickly reached out to him offering my recovery assistance. He had just lost his yellow gold men’s wedding band the day prior while training for a marathon. He was running down a public sidewalk and knew the location his ring fell off. At that moment he search the concrete sidewalk and roadway but couldn’t see his ring. Later that day he returned with his kids and spent about three hours looking with no success.
After we connected and shared some details the search was set. Later that afternoon I arrived and we got straight to the hunt.
I was happy to have been able to connect with Tom quickly as he published a lot of details online of the location of where he lost his ring. Typically we recommend not to publish detailed location information of your lost items to public post. This is to disable the “sharks” of any opportunity in finding your lost treasures behind your back without any thought of ever returning your lost property.
Instead its highly encouraged that you contact a local trusted recovery specialist with a proven track record directly from TheRingFinders.com directory listings. You can review their portfolio of success to have peace of mind you’re working with an experienced recovery specialist best qualified to work your specific case. Having this open forum of success stories online and a stack of published YouTube success stories has made the process much easier for many individuals to see first hand the good honest works we provide to our communities on a daily basis.
It all worked out for a very pleasant recovery process. Tom was very happy and appreciative of the search efforts provided and best of all he quickly got his wedding ring of nineteen years returned to his finger where it belongs!

A local woman from the community contacted me asking for assistance in locating her lost iPhone. I learned from our discussion that this person had not enabled the Apple tracking features so we had no way of knowing its general location. This individual was also very focused on keeping her personal identity protected thus very concerned on recovering her phone.
She explain to me that she had gone out to pickup some take out food. By the time she made it home the realization that her iPhone was gone became her priority focus. After a short period of time she went back to the restaurant asking and looking around and no phone was found. She also drove the same roads but was unable to find her phone.
She then started searching Craig’s List in hopes someone had found her phone. In doing so she learned of my services to the community in how I help people locate lost items.
She also shared with me that she had a memory of hearing what sounded like something falling on to the roof of her car like a small tree branch. She then noticed seeing something falling off her car from her rearview mirror. She thought this event was odd as the weather was calm.
After hearing this it become my prime focus to investigate the location of this incident as the potential location of her lost cell phone. It’s very common for people to place phones and items on top of their vehicles while loading and unloading, forgetting the items and driving away. Some distance down the road these items will eventually rattle off onto the roadway.

After the recovery it is important to share how appreciative this lady was for the services provided. She told me that she now has closure and that she can now move past the incident without constantly wondering every time she passes through this part of town.
As I was metal detecting in the water on South Beach Miami Beach A couple of guys approached me and asked me to search for a gold chain for them. I spent two or so hours looking for it but after analyzing the situation and having only found beer cans and pennies. I thought we needed to go further out. The problem was it was getting to be the highest tide. So I took a break and waited until the tide went out further they agreed and after signing the contract. I continued to search way out for another 1 hour or so with little results. After discussing the possibility of a need to come back another day and or switching to another metal detector with better sensitivity. I got a target.!!! And brought up the gold chain in the picture. The owner was sooooo happy to get his chain back.

Here in Seattle we have had some really good weather and with good weather comes the water sports. Dakota contacted me seeking dive recovery support for an expensive carbon fiber lid he lost at the dock from his latest toy. We had a nice chat on the phone where he explained he had this super exciting carbon fiber surfboard that has a gas engine inside of the hull. However when he was moving the board around on the dock the lid came off, went into the lake and sank to 40 feet. The good news was that this just happened and they knew the drop zone precisely. The lid was brightly painted on one side and has a bright colored decal on the back side. Being rather large in size I had all the confidence that it would be a visual find on the surface of the silty lake bottom. I also learned that in all four corners there were metal latching pins on this part so if the silt got too aggressive I would have all opportunity to locate it with my metal detector as a backup plan.
As with many of these dock recovery missions there is typically a stock pile of trash and assorted items that fall into our water ways. Always a great opportunity for a dive in, trash out session as well.

Dakota was appreciative for the recovery work provided. Before I left the site he was already gearing up to get back out into the water for some more exciting JETSURF fun.
