Lost ring in the grass, Maitland, Fl….Found and returned to owner!

  • from Sanford (Florida, United States)
Contact:

Jacob and his girlfriend were at a church event when it came time to step out on the grass behind the church and have a free-for-all with a large tub of water balloons. And after it was all said and done Jacob looked down and realized his special class ring was gone and he could not believe it had come off of his finger without him realizing it! He and a few friends immediately started looking thru the grass hoping to spot his large gold ring. With only a few weeks left of school–his senior year at that—he could not imagine graduating without his ring. Part of his class ring has symbols that commemorate his dear grandfather so it held allot of sentimental value to Jacob and his family.

Jacob’s mother came to the rescue by typing « Metal detector rental Orlando, Florida » on her phone and theringfinders.com web site came up. (People are so surprised to hear that there actually is a very unique service which helps people find their lost rings. A skilled group of metal detector enthusiasts who offer their time, talents and abilities to help people find what they thought was lost forever!)

After talking to Jacob and making arrangements to meet later in the day I packed up my van and headed towards Orlando. As I drive I try to imagine what sort of search is ahead for me. I always let my family and my elderly parents (Father is 89 and my mother is 88) know that I am heading out on a search and I ask them to pray for me, that God would help me be a blessing and that He would lead me to find whatever it is that has been lost.

Later that afternoon I met Jacob and he showed me the area where they were all running around and throwing balloons. He mentioned he was throwing mostly toward the road so I set out my 4 corner flags and began my tight grid search. It took 20 minutes or so to cover the main area and I began thinking about how and where he would have been throwing and I told Jacob to walk side by side with me as we searched with our eyes the short, trashy area on the other side of the road. I explained that his ring very easily could have gone quite a distance past the small grass area and I pointed to the chainlink fence along the railroad tracks and said, « Look that area over as well, because there is a good chance it went thru the fence ». So Jacob began walking the fence line and I returned to swinging my detector. Within minutes I heard Jacob holler, « There it is!! » And low and behold his ring was sitting on the rocky gravel area a few feet behind the fence. We borrowed a ladder from the good people at the church and I went over the fence to retrieve his ring! Jacob was so relieved to have his ring back and I was thrilled for him as well!

Gold and diamond wedding band lost, recovered and returned in Broomall, PA!

  • from Philadelphia (Pennsylvania, United States)

Shawn reached out to me via text today after finding me in the Ring Finders directory. We got on the phone together and he shared with me the details surrounding the disappearance of his wife’s white gold and diamond wedding band. Apparently yesterday afternoon his wife decided to take their 15 month old boy on a stroll around the neighborhood. After getting him situated in the stroller she removed her 3 ring wedding set(2 identical white gold diamond bands and a solitaire diamond ring) to put sun block on the baby and placed all 3 rings on the top of the stroller. She forgot to put them back on before starting the stroll and made it about 6 blocks before noticing them there. Unfortunately at that point only 2 rings were still there…1 of the bands fell off somewhere during the walk. I got to their house in Broomall, PA around 4 pm that same day. Shawn and I re-enacted the whole incident and walked the entire path where his wife strolled with the baby. It was a poured concrete sidewalk with grass on both sides. It was a pretty large search area! Shawn said he spent 4-5 hours searching the day before just with his eyes and with a flashlight at night. He even considered buying or renting a metal detector before deciding to call me. As I always do, the first thing I do is a quick demonstration of my equipment to give confidence that we wont miss it if I get over it. The great thing about this particular situation is that Shawn had the 2nd identical band that I was able to scan with my machine(Minelab Equinox 800) to see exactly what # it would ring up as. In the case of this band it was a solid 9-10 every time. With that info I was able to set my detector to just zero in on that target id. As I always do I brought a back up detector with me which I also set up to just zero-in on that 9-10 target. Shawn was all to happy to join the search by manning the 2nd detector and with him on right and me on left…we went to work. As an experienced detectorist I knew what to listen for so I was able to move pretty fast…Shawn to his credit was doing a pretty good job himself but maybe a little distracted by some errant sounds and trashy signals. Anyway we got about 4 blocks into the search and I felt like this was the most likely place the ring fell off…It was a little downhill and the sidewalk was bumpy. I was ahead of Shawn on left and got the perfect signal I was looking for…a screaming surface 9-10 signal. It was deep grass but I didn’t even look down…I knew what it was! I called Shawn over with the other detector and told him to sweep right where I pointed. When his detector start screaming with a 9-10 signal he looked at me with amazement…do you think that’s it? I said look….and sure enough there it was!!!!

Shawn readily admitted that no way he would have ever found the ring with out a metal detector and most likely wouldn’t have found it even if he bought or rented one. I tell people all the time that the experience of the detectorist is as important as the machine itself. To finish the story…Shawn texted me later to tell me his wife was beyond  ecstatic about having her complete set of rings back on her finger!

LOST CLASS RING NEW PORT RICHEY, FL. … FOUND!!

LOST A RING OR OTHER METAL VALUABLE IN A GRASSY OR SANDY AREA? JEWELRY SLIP OFF OF YOU WHILE WORKING OUTSIDE OR SWIMMING? PLEASE CALL ME ASAP AT (843)995-4719.
I OFFER A FREE METAL DETECTING SERVICE, REWARD OPTIONAL BUT APPRECIATED!

I received a call from Sandra who had found me through a Google search. She and her husband Charlie have a home that backs up to a small lake and in mid February, Charlie was throwing some feed out for the lake birds when his class ring flew from his finger into the edge of the lake. This class ring was a replacement for one he had lost years before. Charlie had searched the area with a rake, pulling through through the muck of the shallow water and then with a metal detector purchased from Harbor Freight as the lake water receded over the next several months due to relatively dry conditions. When I arrived at the location, Charlie showed me where the lake level had dropped about eight feet or so and where he thought his ring had landed was now on dry land as opposed to in several feet of water. I showed Charlie the equipment I was using and then scanned my class ring to give him an idea about the target ID reading I was looking for. After gridding for only about five minutes, I hit the target number I was looking for, dug a few inches down with my knife and recovered Charlie’s ring! I think he was really surprised that it had been that easy to locate but the recovery was made much easier by the fact that it was a very small search area in a secured location and not under water.

Charlie and Sandra, thank you for trusting me to recover Charlie’s class ring and thank you for your generous reward! God bless!

Lost & Found Gold Rings, Crescent Beach.

It was a busy Sunday, my first search was for 3 1/2 hours and no success walking over two kilometres looking for a lost wedding band for a young man. The next day I saw it posted on craigslist and I contacted him to let him know someone had found it and said that they found it two days before I started the search. I felt very happy that his ring was found and returned, then I drove to Chilliwack to find a ring in the backyard (5 minute search) and then on the way home I stopped off at Crescent Beach were a young lady’s mother contacted me in regards to her daughter losing three very precious rings that were gifts from her great grandmother, grandmother, and her mother.

She went on to tell me the rings were lost two days prior to her calling me, so I knew it could be a bit of a long shot due to how many people search these beaches in the summertime. We met at around 8 PM at the beach and talks about the search area, the young lady told me that they were playing volleyball and throwing a football. She also told me she took off all three rings and gave it to a friend to put in his pocket so she would not lose them. Playing volleyball they did not have a net and we’re just passing it around so no real reason for the rings to jump out of the pocket. Also it was short grass so most likely I would have spotted at least one ring. After 30 minutes on the grass I moved the search to the sandy part of the beach where they were throwing the football. She remembered her friend had fallen to the ground a couple of times trying to catch the pass.

This was my  »hot area » as diving for the ball and landing on the sand would definitely cause rings to fall out of a pocket. After approximately 30 minutes of grid searching the area it wasn’t looking good for success, until I’m close to my last grid search line I popped up one of the rings!!!

I now gnu the chances of finding the other two were extremely high in that approximate area and I was right! Will you see here on my post and my videos are smiles and recoveries, when you don’t see is the many times I go out searching for rings and I’m not successful. Most times it’s because people did not lose the ring where they thought they lost it, they will call me the next day or two sometimes a month or two later and tell me where they found it in their house or in their car. In all my years I’ve only had one search where I missed the ring and the people found it themselves. I’m only human I can make mistakes too.

The connection to these rings were very powerful, they were her a gift from her grand mother, her great grandmother, and her mothers gold rings, handed down to her to continue the story and hopefully one day pass on to her daughter or son. I felt honoured to be able to help find and help continue the stories of these beautiful rings.

Wedding ring lost DURING CEREMONY, Stone Harbor, NJ Recovered!!

  • from Cape May (New Jersey, United States)
Well it goes without saying that you never know what kind of events may lead up to a ring getting lost. This story is no exception. On May 8th I was contacted by the best man of a wedding party. He explained that during the couples ceremony, at a bayside resort, he had accidentally dropped the brides ring onto the deck and it slipped thru the cracks and into the bay! At the time he had called I was headed out to dinner with my family for Mother’s Day and it was just about high tide. After receiving some pictures and descriptions of the area I knew this could be very challenging as the search area was located under a deck / pier that extended over the bulkhead and into the bay. I figured it would be best to wait until dead low tide as the area was in about 12-15’ of water at the moment. Around 12:30am I headed over with a friend whom was lending a hand and met up with the remaining members and guests of the wedding party. Luckily the staff at “The Reeds” in Stone Harbor NJ were awesome at helping to pinpoint the area and provide a floating dock to work from, kind of like Tom Sawyers raft, lol. They even went so far as to remove some of the mahogany decking in an attempt to locate the ring. Obviously the wedding party was devastated over this accident and all reasonable attempts were made to find the dropped ring. You could feel the obvious tension surrounding the events that unfolded and this just drove the determination to a positive outcome further! After making our way down to the dock we boarded the floating dock and paddled under the deck / pier to the approximate area. After checking for about 15-20 minutes I was able to recover the brand new never worn rose gold and diamond band!! Much to my and everyone’s relief! The ring was under some of the structural members in about 2’ of water amongst some horseshoe crabs. The bride, groom, best man and remaining members of the wedding party were ecstatic!! Another happy couple! Congratulations and here’s to a lifetime of happiness!!

Lost diamond ring found in Chilliwack, BC

I received a call the other day from a young man who said his wife had lost her diamond wedding band in their backyard while she was suntanning. I was already on a long search for a lost ring in Richmond, I told him when I wrap this up I would give him a call. Three hours later I phoned John to discuss the search in his backyard, I found out he lived in Chilliwack which is about two hour drive from my location.

Knowing the ring was lost in the backyard I was confident I would find it, however I have been fooled before, some searches you think are going to be easy turn out to be the hardest. When I made it to his place., John greeted me and show me the area his wife was suntanning, it wasn’t a very big backyard and I knew in the back of my mind that it could be a fast recovery. John told me that his wife put both of her rings in a book as a bookmark while she was suntanning and reading, somehow the wedding band fell out of the book and into the grass.

John and his wife felt the ring could be at the last spot she was tanning, they spent many hours on their hands and knees searching the grass, but no it wasn’t there. I extended the search out and back around the corner and found her beautiful diamond wedding band just inches beneath the grass, but not visible. These rings find ways to hide so easily and make it so hard for people to find without the use of a proper metal detector and an experienced operator.

Lost Gold & Diamonds Sentimental Earring at Ulua Lagoon…FOUND!!!

  • from O‘ahu (Hawaii, United States)

This Earring hunt began yesterday when I was rinsing off from a ring hunt in Ulua Lagoon. A young lady named Rosie from Mililani approached me and said a lady told her I was the resort detectorist and would help her find her lost Gold & Diamonds Earring her father had given to her. She explained the day before while swimming and playing along the shoreline with her children at some point her earring went missing. She had swum out to the buoy line in deep water but figured the earring probably came off while playing along the shore. Rosie helped me draw a grid line in the sand and I went hunting. After clearing that grid without finding the earring Rosie thought maybe a bit more to the North might give us some luck. Low and behold on the third pass I got a screaming « 8 » target on the Nox and in one scoop there was the beautiful sentimental earring in my scoop. Right on the shoreline where Rosie imagined. Needless to say Rosie was very relieved and extremely thankful I was able to find it. Earrings can be tough sometimes but the Nox is excellent in the water! Aloha to Rosie!

Lost and Found Diamond Wedding Band in Germantown, Maryland Bushes

Kelly’s Beautiful and Elegant 14 Karat White Gold Diamond Wedding Band Finally Reunited With its Enhancer!

Happiness Prevails Once Again as Kelly Proudly Displays Her Most Precious Material Possession on Earth!

BRIAN RUDOLPH, LOST ITEM RECOVERY SPECIALIST (LAND, WATER, SAND, SNOW, LEAVES, HOUSES & VEHICLES) WILL FIND YOUR LOST KEEPSAKE! CALL ASAP (301) 466-8644!

I had the privilege of providing a search and recovery metal detecting service for Kelly and Jim in Germantown, Maryland.

The couple was relaxing and drinking wine on their wrap around porch one evening. Kelly took off her enhancer ring which surrounded the 14 karat white gold wedding band and put it on the table where the wine glasses sat.

One of their sons came out with a stick and wanted to show them something about it. He accidentally knocked the rings off of the table along with at least one of the wine glasses which broke on the floor.

The couple looked for the two rings and they quickly found the enhancer resting across the floor, but not the wedding band. For an entire week, Jim and Kelly searched diligently for the missing ring but ended up having no answers to show for their many hours of searching with a metal detector.

Jim shared that the metal detector they used kept making beeping sounds and they got simply nowhere with it. It was picking up all kinds of metal from the house, including nails and other miscellaneous items, but not what they were looking for.

Jim found me on THE RING FINDERS international metal detectorist directory website and then reached out to me as soon as they realized that they needed a professional metal detectorist to help them. He explained to me that finding the ring was one of their top priorities because they were packing up their things and moving to their new house in Florida in just one week! It was obviously essential for me to be successful with this ring search call-out to their home! I couldn’t wait to solve this mystery!

When I arrived at the family’s home, I was greeted by one of the children outside by my car. All of the kids were just fantastic to be around! They all wanted to learn about metal detecting and see how I would find the missing ring.

After I introduced myself to Jim and Kelly, they showed me where they were sitting on the porch and where they found the enhancer ring. I noticed that the bushes in front of the entire wrap around porch area were extremely dense, nearly 12 feet deep from the edge of the porch all the way to where the lawn began.

The couple shared with me that they looked for hours upon hours, day after day for an entire week, searching endlessly for the missing wedding band. They were just completely exhausted with all of their attempts.

Once I got the whole story as to what happened that caused the one ring to completely disappear, I gave my word to Kelly and Jim that they would get the ring back in time for their move the following week! I certainly hoped that I was going to recover the lost jewel that evening if all possible.

I went to the car and got all of the equipment that I needed to conduct the search. I even brought my endoscope with me in order to look down into the porch floor boards just in case there was enough space for the ring to have slipped down into a large enough crack in the wood. Upon checking all of the gaps between the boards, there was not enough room for the ring to fall down into the porch flooring.

Next, I began metal detecting in the bushes next to the porch and I began pulling up all kinds of kiddy toys and miscellaneous pieces of metal. There were pull tabs and nails along with rolled up pieces of aluminum foil that were once imaginary play things for the children. I thought that was really sentimental and fun to uncover! The parents got a kick out of it! I used a 6-inch coil on the end of my detector to search the hard to get to places and I carefully inspected the areas where there were some electrical lines that were no longer in use. Still I could not find Kelly’s beautiful wedding band.

While I was conducting the search, all of the children played around my working area and interacted with me regarding their curiosities about my methods of metal detecting. They always had something fun to show me and I was quite honored that they seemed to feel comfortable approaching me and including me in their own outdoor endeavors!

Once I cleared a particular area of ground surrounded by a section of bushes, I moved to another part and carefully examined every square inch possible of that quadrant. I used my pinpointer to search in the branches just in case the ring ended up landing « above ground »! The hedges were extremely thick and it was quite possible the ring could have absolutely landed in the middle of some branches and needles.

The thickets were so dense that I thought it to be almost impossible for Kelly’s wedding band to have made it more than a few feet into the bushes based on how thick the whole area was down there. I metal detected from the edge of the porch to about 5 feet into the shrubs. I conducted the search all the way around that entire side of the porch, making certain that I didn’t miss anything. With my headlamp on full blaze, I illuminated all of the dark areas down below and kept a watchful eye for the missing ring even in places where I was not able to metal detect. Still, I came up with nothing.

After about an hour and 45 minutes, I decided to move around to the other side of the bushes and start metal detecting from the lawn in towards the dense forest of shrubs! Looking straight at the porch from the grass, I started at the far right side which would have been on the extreme right side of where the couple was drinking their wine on that dreadful evening when the ring disappeared. I like to start outside the box and end up outside of the same box where most people would consider the area too unrealistic to search when looking for the lost item. Quite often I discover that the ring ends up much farther than where the client thought to search which is why the client never was able to find what he / she was looking for.

I worked diligently, metal detecting the grounds beneath the bushes and within the branches above. I moved from the right side over to the left area, heading towards the front of the house. Again, I found some of the children’s play things and homemade crafts, as well.

I got to a point in the search where I was about 15 feet away from the porch on a diagonal angle through the bushes with my feet just touching the grass. I had my body slightly leaning forward into the shrubs. The particular area of bushes that I was detecting was so far away from where the couple was sitting, (which would have made it probably around 20 feet in total) that no one in their right mind could conceive the thought that the ring had a chance of making it through 15 feet of thick bushes and then settle just inches away from the clearing where the grass began on the other side. Well, to my greatest surprise, that’s exactly what happened! My detector gave me a very intriguing signal, indicating that there was a potential target just underneath one of the bushes next to the clearing of the flower bed. I leaned down to inspect the area where the detector was picking up the signal. Just as I was putting my pinpointer in the region where the metal was located, my eyes locked on to the most beautiful diamond wedding band! It was wedged up against the trunk of one of the bushes in plain sight! I was beyond amazed at how that ring rocketed that far through all of the dense shrubs, almost clearing the entire bed! It seems like the moment that I think I’ve seen it all, there’s something else that blows my mind and this was clearly another example of such a moment!

I was so happy to have found Kelly’s missing wedding band and I was even more excited to surprise the family with it shortly after I solved the mystery of where that beloved ring had ended up! Kelly and Jim could not have been more thrilled and relieved that I had successfully recovered their beloved sentimental piece of gold and gorgeous diamonds! They too had their minds blown away when I showed them the exact spot of where that ring settled to the ground after their son innocently caused the rings to jettison from the porch table!

After I shared my findings with the family, we all celebrated with the most delicious homemade cookies that Kelly had made earlier that day! I was then given the grand tour of their lovely home that they were about to say goodbye to.

Now that I had found one of the couple’s most precious belongings that had gone mysteriously missing for over a week, Jim and Kelly were finally emotionally ready to start packing for their journey down south to Florida!
