I received a call from Judy this evening around 6 pm asking if I could find her wedding ring that she lost the night before while she was throwing ice melt on her sidewalk. I said if it was in her yard I would find it.

I met up with Judy at her home and she showed me where she had been throwing the ice melt. I turned one my trusty spectra V3i on and with 15 feet of where Judy was standing I found her white gold wedding ring buried in 3 inches of snow. She was very happy when I called her over and showed her where her ring was. Thank you, Judy.

Lost Ring Phone Support 🙂

Hi John,

My name is Alvaro ******** and I misplaced my aggie ring over the weekend at home.  Normally I place my ring on top of the family dresser, and vaguely remember doing so.  However, we have not been able to find it over the weekend.  Are you able to assist with the search for this ring?  It is likely inside the house in a drawer or crack(I think).  We live in the Heights in a Bungalow.  If you can assist us, please let me know how much you would charge for your services.  Do you work off contingencies?

Thank you

Alvaro *********

Alvaro,

Thank you for contacting me, when I hear about these type of losses, I often recommend waiting for up to 72 hours, as the rings in these situations tend to show up on their own.

If that time has passed, and the ring is still missing from your home, you have to ask yourself these real questions.

1. Who has had access to the ring since you last remember seeing it. This list would include friends, family, service persons, etc?

2. Have you checked all the obvious places like your pockets, laundry basket, behind dressers, beds, etc?

3. Check the vacuum cleaner bag

4. Could the ring have bypassed any drain guard in any sink? If yes, you need to check the drain pipe traps.

MOST of my expertise in locating missing items (rings) is by utilizing the latest technology in metal detecting equipment.  This work is traditional done in an outdoor environment.  I have assisted people on these types of jobs before, sometimes a clean set of eyes can be a factor, but we need to focus on the fact that your ring did not disappear on its own.

Professionally, I often tell people to sit down and write out their daily activities of the day in question. This act often creates a recall we might not have had just thinking about the particular day or incident.

Let me know.

Hi John,

Thanks for the encouraging words; I took your advice and kept alert for it. Alas, my ring was where I least expected it;  My closet.

Happy holidays

How to Find a Lost Gold Ring In The Snow in Maple Ridge, BC

  • from Vancouver (British Columbia, Canada)

I received a call yesterday from a young lady who’s nephew lost his older brothers gold signet ring that was handed down to him from his aunts late father. You can image how devastated the lady was to find out that her nephew who was throwing a snowball and lost the ring that he wasn’t supposed to be wearing.Emily went on to google to search for ways to find the lost ring, she was thinking of renting a metal detector when she found The Ring Finders website and to her surprise someone who could help her locate the ring…Me!Sometimes these searches can be very difficult depending on how accurate the person is in regards to where they were throwing the snowball… in most cases many snowballs are being thrown in all directions in this case he only through one at a specific area of the back yard. After only 3 minutes or so I got a nice ring tone on my Whites V3I and I bent down with my pinpointed to discover the lost gold signet ring in about 2 inches of snow…OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAI love the smiles you can find when you locate someones lost ring! The story was that Emily’s father passed away many years ago and his signet ring with his family crest was to be copied and given to all the family members when they turned 21. If that original ring was lost there would be no way to have others made from the original… OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAI know that the young man felt horrible for what happened, we all learn from our mistakes and the ring is back where it needs to be and in 5 years time he will have one of his own. I love my job! Metal Detector Rental for Lost Diamond Engagement Ring and Gold Wedding Band

  • from Vancouver (British Columbia, Canada)

You can rent a metal detector and search for hours and not find your lost ring…Dose that mean your ring is not there? I have found over 300 lost rings for people over the past 20 years and I’d say more then 60% of my clients had rented a metal detector before hiring me to find their lost ring.

A very small percentage of people who rent a metal detector will find their lost ring as most people have never used a metal detector before, and the one’s you rent are not the best out there. The other factor is where to look for your lost ring…

For me, in most cases, I find the ring nowhere close to where people think they lost it. So how many people are out there who rented a metal detector and searched for hours to just gave up because the detector was beeping everywhere and they couldn’t find the ring where they thought they’d lost it…

That’s where this directory (The Ring Finders) comes in handy! The Ring Finders Directory consists of metal detecting specialists that can save you time and find what you thought was lost forever!

If you don’t find your your lost ring…Don’t give up!  Hire a metal detecting specialist!

And yes we can find your lost ring in snow!

Happy Holidays!

I received a call today from Ryan and Jess regarding Ryan’s lost wedding ring.

Ryan and Jess reported Ryan was playing football in the front yard with family when

his ring flew off of his finger.

Ryan mentioned his wife Jess was not happy :), but after speaking to her she

insisted Ryan would be sleeping in-doors tonight regardless of the out-come.

Ryan reported one of his family members had located www.theringfinders.com after

his failed attempts at finding his ring.

I think you can tell from the smiles, today was a good day

I was happy very happy for Ryan and Jess, you could see the relief and happiness

in both of them when the ring was recovered.

imageimagePerhaps this ring looks familiar! It should . I posted it about july 12th 2012 when I first found it in the garden for a customer. Well, today I received another call from the same customer. This time the ring came off while hanging Christmas lights. Ironically, it was found about 3 feet away from where I found it last year!
Maybe I should consider a package discount. 😉

Lost Texas A&M Class Ring Woodlands, Texas (Recovered)

12/04/2013

Hi John,

I work for The Woodlands Township in The Woodlands and I supervise the
boathouse next to the woodlands mall. Today at work, my worst nightmare
happened. I went to shake someone’s hand and they pulled my ring off and it
bounced off the dock into the lake. It is about 4.5 to 5 ft deep where it fell
in and it is in probably a 5 by 5 ft area next to the dock.

I found you online at www.theringfinders.com when I was looking for metal

detector rentals. Is there ANY way you can help me with this. My ring is/was easily

my most prized possession.

Please, if you get a chance I would love to hear back from you with any help
you might be able to offer me.

Thanks in advance,

Kyle

I met Kyle this morning at the Woodlands Boat House and  Kyle gave me a first hand

account of how the ring was lost and where he believed it landed in the water.

The job appeared easy from the top side, I was thinking, I’ll jump in this tropical warm

blue water, grab the ring and job complete.

Well the water wasn’t tropical or warm and the bottom of the dock was concrete with

apparently a lot of re-enforced re-bar. I found the ring, lots of luck on this job. I was

thinking to myself, Kyle you just witnessed an early Christmas Miracle 🙂

I was really happy for him, It was clear from the beginning the Ring was very important to him.

Metal Detecting for 2 Lost Rings in Pemberton, BC

  • from Vancouver (British Columbia, Canada)

I got a call the other day from a young lady named Alex who lost 2 rings in the snow. She and her husband were visiting from New Zealand and while driving up past Pemberton they pulled over to the side of the road so Alex could made a snow angel.  After getting back in the truck and heading for a friends place she realized 5 minutes later that her rings were gone. These were her diamond engagement ring and diamond wedding band. You can imagine how devastated she was! They turned around and went back and searched for 1 1/2 hours in the snow and cold… but no rings… There was one thing I never talked about in my video below… Alex told me that her and her husband were very lucky to be alive! shortly after they were heading home they hit black ice and Flipped the truck…What a bad day!!!A few days after, Alex got on the internet and found The Ring Finders, instead of renting a metal detector she called me. We discussed the search and we agreed to meet,  I would drive her and her cousin to the location to find the rings as her husband was in a business meeting. It was a good 2 1/2 hour drive, when we arrived at the location. I could tell where she was making snow angels and I thought this would be a fast recovery, but I was wrong. Almost an hour later near the side of the road where they parked the truck I got a good strong signal. I bent down and moved the snow to see the glint of gold…Only a few feet away was the second ring. The smile tells the story! Thank you Alex for the very generous reward and I sent you a receipt to show that I donate 15% of my reward money to Children’s Hospital .OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAOLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA I Love my Job!Lost your ring? Edmonton had a heavy snowstorm yesterday receiving six inches of the white fluffy stuff, I received a call from Steven this afternoon in regards to his set of keys that he had lost while shoveling snow at his mother’s house this morning. I met up with Steven this afternoon and he showed me where he thought he had lost his keys along the sidewalk. I pick up my machine, went to work and after fifteen minutes, Bingo, found his set of keys. Another happy client!

Thanks Steven.
