Lost Gold Nugget Pinky Ring on Baltimore, Maryland Property…Found by Ring Finder Brian Rudolph

  • from Washington (District of Columbia, United States)

Roland’s 14 karat gold nugget pinky ring that he had only possessed for a few hours before it ended up being lost somewhere on his lawn.

Roland and his fiance happily posing with his very handsome piece of jewelry which metal detectorist, Brian Rudolph, was able to successfully recover from the couple’s Baltimore, Maryland property.

Roland was so proud to purchase his first gold nugget pinky ring at a local jewelry shop. He put it on his finger and went home to cut his lawn. Sometime during his landscaping project, the gentleman realized that his newly purchased possession was no longer on his pinky. Roland panicked and began to search all over his yard to see if he could recover his lost gold nugget ring.

After minutes turned into hours, Roland realized that he was not able to reclaim his brand new piece of jewelry. He even acquired a metal detector to see if he could recover the ring with a rented machine, but even that idea ended up failing miserably.

The Baltimore resident eventually looked on the internet for additional help and that’s when Roland found the elite international directory of metal detectorists called THE RING FINDERS. He called me on the phone and that’s when I got all of the details regarding this particular ring search.

That evening, I drove to Randallstown, Maryland which is located in the suburbs outside of the city of Baltimore. When I arrived, Roland showed me around his single-family house property. There was a considerable amount of lawn for me to detect but I tried to logically think through the best order of attacking each section of grass.

The first area that I metal detected was the right side of the house. When there was no sign of the ring in that location, I headed for the front lawn and metal detected the grass that was parallel to the sidewalk. Still, nothing showed up on my machine indicating that I had possibly struck gold.

Next, I decided to skip the left side of the house and instead I took my gear to the rear of the property in order for me to inspect the area of lawn where Roland had first started the lawn mower. Even though my client thought that he had the ring on his pinky at the time that he began to cut the grass, I thought it would be best to check that section of the lawn just in case his recollection was innocently inaccurate.

Within a minute of me scanning over a small patch of grass just in front of the tool shed where Roland kept his lawn mower, I got a very promising signal on my metal detector, indicating that I might have hit a piece of gold jewelry. As it turned out, I did in fact find Roland’s fantastic new gold nugget pinky ring! Apparently, it had slipped off of my client’s finger during the pulling of the mower cord to start its engine!

I was so happy for the gentleman! Roland was extremely surprised that I was able to find his brand new piece of gold in less than 30 minutes since my time of arrival! He couldn’t believe where the ring had ended up all along!

Before I left Roland’s property, my client expressed his sincere appreciation for my professional expertise as well as my zeal in helping him recover his newly purchased gold prize! Earlier that evening when Roland had no success in finding his ring, the gentleman told me that he truly started thinking that he would never see his newly acquired special ring ever again… I’m so glad that in the end…The Ring Hero proved Roland’s fears to be quite wrong!

Tungsten Carbide Wedding Band Lost on Sykesville, Maryland Estate…Found

  • from Washington (District of Columbia, United States)

Thad’s handsome tungsten carbide wedding band found by member of THE RING FINDER’S, Brian Rudolph.

Thad shows off his most sentimental keepsake after professional metal detectorist Brian Rudolph recovered the wedding band in his client’s front yard.

Brian Rudolph, Lost Item Recovery Specialist (Land, Water, Sand, Snow, Leaves, Cliffs, Houses & Vehicles) Will Find Your Lost Keepsake! Call ASAP (301) 466-8644!

Thad called me up in the early evening hours hoping that I would be able to help him find his lost tungsten carbide wedding band. The young man found my information on the elite international metal detectorist directory called THE RING FINDERS. He had already tried searching for it for three hours with a metal detector but he still couldn’t recover the special keepsake.

My client had been married for 8 years and this ring meant the world to both he and his wife Jessica. When Thad first talked to me on the phone, he sounded like he was about to cry. Tears were welling up inside and the desperate man was literally crying out for help.

The ring was lost while Thad was hanging out in his front yard with his dog. At some point while making a certain « flicking » motion with his hand, the band presumably flew off and the rest of the story became a mystery for Thad and « Jess ».

Though I was exhausted after conducting a huge search on a soccer field in Urbana, Maryland and still knowing that I would have to pack my things and wake up early the next morning to drive to Washington DC to take a train bound for New York City, I promised Thad that I would do the search for him that night. He was so very grateful. I declared to the fellow, « I will find your ring, and you’ll be wearing it tonight ». Thad was beyond hopeful at that moment.

I arrived at Thad’s beautiful property sometime around 10:30pm at night. After gathering up my gear, Thad immediately took me over to the front yard where he showed me where he thought he lost his precious sentimental keepsake.

Once I acquired all of the necessary information about the ring and the approximate area where the wedding band most likely had been lost, I set up my grid lanes and began to detect. With my high lumens headlamp on, it took me no more than 2 minutes or so to pick up a decent target signal coming from around the third grid lane, I believe.

I knew that this had to be my client’s ring with what my detector was registering on its screen. Immediately, I knelt down, took out my pinpointer (a handheld detector) and narrowed in on the object that was hidden in the grass. Just as I used my fingers to track and identify the surface target, my eyes locked in on Thad’s tungsten carbide wedding band! It had been resting just beside a very small tree that had recently been planted by the couple. The rim of my detector’s coil barely made contact with the handsome jewel, but I was still able to successfully identify its whereabouts!

I could not have been happier for Thad and Jess! He couldn’t believe how fast I was able to recover the lost wedding ring and my client was extremely emotional filled with words of gratitude and praise!

Thad’s three hours of no success verses my successful results in ten to fifteen minutes was no competition indeed! Thad’s choice to call a professional metal detectorist to finally garner the results he was desperately looking for was certainly a no brainer!

Marine’s shrapnel necklace Slidell, Louisiana – Found

  • from Lafayette (Louisiana, United States)
Contact:

Before Necklace 1 IMG_1914 IMG_1915 IMG_1917Randy is a Marine infantryman combat veteran, having served two tours in Iraq, in 2003 and 2004. His job was anti-armor operations and explosives. On September 6, 2004 he received a traumatic brain injury due to a road side bomb or IED (Improvised Explosive Device). He had a piece of shrapnel from a 155 millimeter mortar shell penetrate his face directly under his right eye. He had two brain surgeries and a facial reconstructive surgery. He now has three plates, titanium mesh, a bracket for a cheek bone and over twenty screws in his skull.

His initial brain surgery was done in Lundstuhl, Germany. The neurologist gave him the piece of shrapnel that entered his skull. Once he got home to Louisiana, a local jeweler mounted the shrapnel on a necklace. The shrapnel is held by an eagle’s claw, the piece then white gold plated.

Randy began working for a professional fireworks company near his home in Covington, LA. Since he had experience with explosives, the transition to fireworks was easy. He also attends school at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette working on a degree in Computer Science. On July 3, 2014 while working at the company’s remote storage facility, he removed the necklace and put it on a pack of papers, then placed the stack in his truck. A co-worker grabbed the stack of papers with the necklace. Later they discovered the necklace was missing.

Randy had worn that necklace for a decade. He expressed the emotions he felt. “I felt like a piece of me died. As you can imagine, this shrapnel meant a lot to me even though it is hard to explain being connected to something that almost ended my life.” He and others hunted the area extensively. Even though friends advised him to “let it go”, he could not. He continued to look for ways to locate the necklace.

We began communicating with Randy in April of this year. We finally were able to meet him on site July 16, just a few days after the one year anniversary of the loss. The site was limestone and grass with several forty-foot long steel containers, separated from each other by two to four feet. Staking out the area of highest probability, Sid started a search within the boundaries. Carrie, with her detector set on “Zero Discrimination”, decided to search outside the lines. She detected a strong iron signal within 2 minutes of her starting the search. Looking down, Carrie saw a tiny chain extending from a patch of grass. The rest of the necklace was hidden in the grass. Needless to say, we were all excited. A few pictures and we were on our way home.

Carrie and I are both proud of the service this brave young man has given to his country and saddened by the injuries he has suffered. We are happy that we were able to help him reclaim a piece of his history.

Australian Opal Earring Houma, LA – Found

  • from Lafayette (Louisiana, United States)

Opal Earrings

Carrie and I received a call from Jan telling us she had lost an Australian Opal earring her husband had given to her on their first Christmas together, 34 years ago. Her daughter was to wear them for her upcoming wedding. Wedding pictures were taken at a plantation home in Houma, LA where the wedding is to take place. The bride removed the earrings and Jan placed them in her ears. She then left that location and went to 3 other locations before noticing one of them missing. They searched all possible locations during the week before contacting us.

Carrie and I arrived at the plantation home in a light drizzle to begin our  search. The ground was soaked from recent heavy rains.  Jan estimated her movements after placing the earrings in her ears. After flagging the search area, Carrie adjusted her Garrett ACE  350’s sensitivity and discrimination with the other earring, placing the item in a ziplock and varying the item’s position (post up, post sideways). Made the first sweep slowly with both of us pin pointing every hit. Halfway through the second pass we were both checking out separate hits 1 foot apart when Carrie found the missing earring under the short grass. Our search time was two hours.

It was such a pleasure to meet Jan and to see the beautiful smile on her face when she saw the earring!  Thank you Jan for the generous reward.

Jan and Carrie
