Lost Platinum & Gold with Diamonds Engagement & Wedding Rings at Waikiki Beach…FOUND!!!

This ring find began when I got a text from Ring Finder Steve Wheeler who takes care of the Eastern Beaches of Oahu. He got a call from Melissa from Anchorage Alaska who was spending a day at Waikikik Beach when her two rings went missing. I called Melissa immediately and decided since the rings were in dry sand I’d better get to Waikiki ASAP so not tolet one of the many metal detectorists that comb the beach find Melissa’s ring. After leaving work and grabbing my gear at home I was at the beach in 40 minutes. Melissa was waiting for me at the Duke Kahanamoku Statue. She told me she was applying suntan lotion on her daughter and placed her rings on a matt. They decided to move so her husband picked up the matt and stuff and they moved to another spot on the beach. Melissa then realized she had placed the rings on the matt and now they were gone. I told Melissa I wanted to start at the spot they started at and move from there. The area was now occupied by other beach goers. After detecting the only vacant area we asked a young couple if they could stand up and allow me to detect the area. They were gracious and stood up and I did a quick search but no luck. I asked Melissa if the family packing on the beach was also in the area they were and she said, « Yes! ». Fortunately they packed and left the beach. I moved to that location and got a wonderful tone and one deep scoop down there was Melissa’s stunning Engagement ring. But she told me she was looking for a wedding band. I asked her to describe the ring I held cupped in my hand and she described it exactly. Here you go that’s it. She then said I had to find the other ring…this one being the Wedding Band. I scanned the hole again and sure enough there was another target and one more scoop and now both rings were recovered. Although Melissa had insurance on the rings and she told me she had lost them once before so they were destined to come back to her. We had a chuckle and a hug and another satisfied customer walked off into the sun and surf. Aloha to Melissa.

Engagement Ring Lost in Cypress, CA…Found and Joyously Returned.

I was out shopping today when I received an email from Russell asking for help finding his wife’s engagement ring. They had been out walking the day before when his wife swung her hand and her two rings (the wedding band and engagement ring) went flying off. Russell was walking behind his wife and was able to see the rings fly, and the location where they landed. The wedding band ended up rolling on the sidewalk, and was easily spotted and recovered. The engagement ring though landed in the mulch that bordered the sidewalk next to a short hedge. They looked around for it but were unsuccessful. Today Russell rented a metal detector to search for the ring and was again not able to find it. That is when he found me on The Ring Finders web site. I asked him to call me so I could ascertain the possibilities of a recovery, which he did. We arranged to meet about an hour later.

When I got to the area, Russell was waiting for me. He took me over to the spot and « walked » me through the loss. He showed me the stick he had placed at the spot so as to not forget where to begin his search. I then got my detector out and began a methodical search of the spot and surrounding area. I found numerous bits of foil, and other pieces of metal, but no ring. I then summarized that the ring may have bounced when it hit, and gone deeper into the hedge. I put the detector away, and got my pin pointer out to work in the hedge row. After about a 10-15 minute search, and outside of the search area I received a signal with the pin pointer down where the trunk of the hedge met with one of the large branches about 6-8 inches further into the hedge, at ground level covered with dead leaves, but could see nothing. I moved the many dead leaves and mulch out of the way, and then I saw it, the ring. I picked it up and turned to Russell and asked if this was what we were looking for. He got a big smile, but was amazed that it was not where he remembered seeing it hit. He and his wife have been married 1 1/2 years, and it was a blessing to be able to return this token of their love to them.

Lost Gold Diamond Wedding Band Set Recovered in Nottingham, Maryland!

I received a call back on the 18th of March from a woman who was positive she lost her wedding set in her back yard while doing some spring cleanup with her husband. Despite searching through the leaves for hours, they were unable to locate either of the rings. They also decided to go out and purchase a metal detector and give that a try. They quickly realized if you are not proficient and experienced with a detector, attempting to use one on the fly leads to frustration. I was able to meet them at their home that very day (Sunday) and immediately began my search once they showed me the probable areas where the rings might be. After about 20 minutes……SUCCESS!

The rings(the one in the picture above is her engagement ring) were not too far from each other and were up close to a shed in the yard. To complicate things, there were spare railing pieces leaned up against the shed making the « hiding place » perfect, but they couldn’t escape me!

The rings are now back where they belong with their very happy owner!

Late last evening I received an e-mail from Dakota requesting my service to locate his girl friends lost ring in his front yard. I agreed to meet around 9:30 am this morning.

Dakota showed me the area in which the ring was lost and he told me that he had spent some time looking for the ring with no luck! After asking questions I got my detector and with in five minutes I had the ring back in Dakota’s hand.

Lost Wedding Band in Baton Rouge, LA.- FOUND

Rob was cleaning out his gutters and slung his ring off into the back yard. He purchased a metal detector and tried to find the ring, without success. Locating TheRingFinders on line, he called us for help. We set up to hunt the next day. Carrie and I had a 20’ x 20’ area to hunt. Easy-peasy. Ten minutes and we reunited Rob with his wedding band. Thank you Rob for the generous reward.

After a long winter season, I am excited to get back to metal detecting. While doing some research this winter, I came across the RingFinders.com website. After reviewing the service, I immediately knew I had to join. Because I thoroughly enjoy making people happy and I have been metal detecting for years, I knew this would be a perfect fit for me.

It began last summer when I was asked to find a friends wedding ring after loosing it in a field when he was going down a water slide. After about twenty minutes of searching with my ATPro,  I got a great hit and found his ring. It was so exciting to see his expression that it just made my day. I am now working on finding another ring that was lost last summer.

As a retired Air Force veteran, I am available almost anytime to travel and find your lost treasures. A potion of any monetary rewards that I receive will be donated to my church or the Crohns & Colitis Foundation. Heirloom Pendant and Chain Lost in Malibu, CA…Found and Happily Returned.

I received an email from Aarti last night regarding a pendant and chain she lost that day. She had been at the beach, and realized after she left that it was missing. This pendant her mother had made, after her father died 2 years ago. It had a little lens inserted in it, that when held up to the light enabled the viewer to read a special prayer dedicated to her father. She searched her car, and every other place it could have possibly been with no luck. She then surmised that it must be at the beach, lost somewhere in the sand. she called, and we discussed all of the possibilities, and arranged to meet this morning for a search.

When we met, Aarti took me to the area, and explained what she believed to have happened. We discussed the possibilities, and I told her how I would conduct my search, and then began my search. She told me that she was going to the car to look in that area just to see if it may have fallen off there, and I continued my search. I kept searching, finding numerous bottle caps, and other small pieces of metal. I then got a good strong repeatable signal, and when I dug the chain came out. I scanned the spot again, and in the same hole was the pendant. I looked to the area of Aarti’s car, and saw she was sitting there, so I gathered my equipment and started towards her. She saw me coming, and walked over. I told her that I thought I had been detecting long enough, to which she gave me a quizzical look. It was then that I held out my closed hand, she open hers, into which I dropped to her surprise, the pendant and chain. She was so happy, and relieved to have this special piece of jewelry back. I was so happy to have been able to help her today.

Lost Gold with Diamonds Wedding Ring Set in House Found with Dowsing Rod in Ferndale Michigan

Apron Strings And Diamond Rings!

This lovely housewife misplaced her soldered gold w/diamonds wedding ring set back in January 2018. Off and on she had taken them off during various chores but was always able to find them. With a busy lifestyle, school, 2 cats and a dog, time had gone by and she was unable to locate the ring. Moments in time as to where she was where it was lost became blended and when I talked with her a few days ago she basically said it could be anywhere in the house. Since I had a couple days before we were to search, I had time to photo dowse the location. We made arrangements to search today and when I got on site we checked various places where the pets may have thought it was a toy and flung it somewhere. Since metal detectors don’t work very well in houses I turned to dowsing to help me solve the situation. I didn’t know there were 3 levels to the house. After a few visual checks on each floor and nothing turned up I got to a spot on each floor where I could sweep the dowsing rod 360 degrees. Starting on the upper floor I got a lock in a slightly off line direction from where I had photo dowsed. She told me the box the rod pointed to had a gold class ring in it. For a moment I had thought that it was what I picked up on in the photo, so moving to the main floor I repeated the procedure and the rod locked from 2 directions about 15 feet away towards the fridge. So we moved the fridge and no ring. I moved over in another direction and repeated my dowsing procedure and got another lock to the left of the fridge, this was the pantry area. So she started to shuffle thru items and as she reached into an apron pocket she shouted I found it! Quite happy she was that her wedding ring set was found but had not remembered putting it into the apron while doing some baking! Just in time tho to enjoy the Easter holiday and show off the ring to family who could not make it to their wedding!

Ted called me, telling me that his wife, Shima had lost her diamond engagement ring either in the house or outside where she had walked yesterday afternoon.

I asked if I could talk to her to get her description of when she had last seen it and if she had done anything that might have caused the ring to fall off her finger. She had been in the house most of the time doing a few household chores. The walk they took that afternoon was only two blocks then they spent an hour at the neighborhood cocktail lounge. Both Shima and her husband,Ted had searched the outside area that night and the first thing in the morning.

It sounded like there was a possibility that we might have a few places that I could search the grass curb strip and decorated rock landscape ground cover along the sidewalk. After that we could look the house over to see if the ring was hiding inside the house. The main thing was to eliminate the outside areas first, so they could concentrate searching the inside of the house.

Shima and Ted walked with me as I swung my metal detector over possible places the ring could be hiding along the walkway. Nearing the end, I could see Shima start to give up hope. While walking back to the house I double checked the search area. A couple of the people walking along the sidewalk asked us what we were looking for. Then I saw Shima showing one of the gardeners a photo of her ring to one of the workers. She broke out in a joyful smile and yelled, “ They Found it”.

Freddy the guy working on the irrigation system had found the ring earlier that morning lying on the edge of the street near the gutter. He had put it in their truck thinking it was probably a fake ring.

This has happen several other times, where someone sees me detecting and has been honest enough to ask and return the lost item. Swinging a metal detector does create attention and this time it helped to find the person who found the ring. You never know, how it works? One reason I like to say, “I Will Try Anywhere”

Lost Platinum & Diamonds Wedding Ring at Ulua Lagoon Ko Olina…FOUND!!!

This ring find began when I got a 1230AM call from Ata who works for Aloha Security at Ko Olina Resort. He came upon a Japanese couple on the beach in the dark trying to find a Platinum & Diamonds Wedding Ring that had fallen into the sand earlier in the day. They were searching desperately as they were leaving for Tokyo Japan in the morning. After hearing their plight Ata decided if this ring was going to be recovered he had to get ahold of me. Thankfully my wife Wendy was up doing crafts while I was asleep. She knew I wouldn’t want Jun & Mina to leave the island without their ring so she woke me up. Ata asked if I could be there early in the morning and I said « No, I’ll come now since I’m awake. » I told Ata to meet on the beach in a little less than an hour. Traffic was nonexistant at 1AM so I got there in 35 minutes. Ata went and got Mina and Jun from their room so they could show me whereabouts the ring was lost. Mina knew she removed the ring to apply suntan lotion as she watched a young child building a sand castle. The castle was still there in the ambient light of the hotel so we moved some beach chairs out of the way and I began my search. Immediately I found 2 Lincoln cents and 2 State quarters. Minor coin spill. Then on the second leg of the grid I got that Platinum tone all the Excalibur guys will know and since diamonds were involved I took a gentle scoop but nothing. I took another scoop and there was Mina’s Wedding Ring. Jun & Mina were in shock and really thought the recovery was hopeless. We took some pictures and had a few hugs then Jun said, « Mina and I can now sleep peacefully on our last night in Paradise. Thank you so much. » Suddenly the hotel sprinkler system went off and we all got a christening. That was a laugh for all of us. Aloha to Mina & Jun!
