Lost Sentimental Silver Necklace Queen’s Beach Waikiki…FOUND!!!

This Sentimental Silver Necklace hunt began when I got a call Friday night from Andrew who was on vacation from Murrieta, California. Before taking a swim he took his necklace off and wrapped it in his shirt and placed it on a beach towel. Upon return he put his shirt back on and then realized he forgot his necklace. He and some young lady friends searched but the soft sand must have consumed the necklace in its entirety as it was nowhere to be found. He saw two gentlemen on the beach with metal detectors but they were committed to a dinner reservation so they said, « Call Joe ». I wish I knew who they were. Since the loss was earlier that afternoon and it was now dark I was thinking someone may have found the necklace already but I told Andrew I’d be there in a few minutes and give it a shot. Being late I was able to get parking right at Queen’s Beach which never happens. Andrew and the two young ladies were waiting for me and I had Andrew draw a box in the sand where he thought the necklace would be. First target was a piece of foil and then I got a screaming 17-18 on the Nox and in one scoop there was Andrew’s silver necklace dangling from my scoop. One of the young ladies pull the necklace gently from the scoop and handed it to Andrew. He immediately put it over his head and around his neck once again. They all were in disbelief that the necklace was found. Honestly I was very surprised myself. Thankfully this vacation has a forever happy moment. Aloha to Andrew!

Lost engagement ring found in fluffy Minnesota snow!

Lost ring in 2 feet of Minnesota snow found!

One more snow plow and this ring could have been lost forever! Ring was recovered past the curb edge which could have ended badly. Fortunately, the ring was recovered and back where it should be. I thank you for the opportunity, nothing like a cold Minnesota February day that ended warmly despite the 20 degree temperature!

Keeping Their Flame Burning

Got a call from newlywed Aaron this afternoon said his ring came off in the deep snow that fell upon the Detroit area recently. It happened when he ran outside with the dog to grab a few logs for the fireplace and after a few snowballs and fetch he noticed the ring missing when he got back indoors. Using a loaner detector brought no luck. When I arrived I noticed the area him and the dog were and began to set up my MXT. Slicing thru the 8 inch snow and deeper drifts with my bigfoot coil revealed nothing. So I began a wider search pattern and back by the log pile next to the garage the detector gave a sweet signal. Brushing the snow aside revealed this beautiful white/yellow gold ring glistening in the snow! I waved him over and he could not believe it was that far off from where he was with the dog.

Perfect timing as he had a meeting to get to for work. He thanked me and I said I was glad to help keep their flame burning and wished them the best in their new life together.

Lost Gold Wedding Band at Kailua Beach…FOUND!!!

This ring find began when I got a call from a lady who said her friend’s husband from Bountiful, Utah lost his wedding ring on Kailua Beach. I told her that ring finder Don lived in that area but she said he wasn’t available. The day was getting short so I told her to stay near her phone and that google maps said I could be there in 28 minutes. Sure enough when I arrived they were waiting for me on the side of the road closest to the beach access point. I was introduced to Steve and his lovely and funny wife Hope. We trekked down to the beach and Steve drew a box in the sand where he thought the ring should be. He had placed his ring on a beach chair along with some other items and when he picked up the chair to leave it must have fallen out. I started the hunt in one corner of the grid and worked towards the road. First target was a piece of foil. The next target was a booming 20 on the Nox and on the second scoop there was Steve’s Yellow Gold Wedding Band in the scoop. Someone must have stepped on it as it was several inches under the sand. Hope & Steve were elated and very thankful. Vacation saved! Aloha to Hope & Steve!

****  Tyler and Trinity had spent the afternoon at The Wedge on he Balboa Peninsula, Newport Beach, CA.  Just before the end of their stay, Trinity lost an heirloom gold ring that had been worn for years by her mother.

Tyler just told me that she had lost the ring in the sand while throwing a ball. He called me at 8:30pm. I told him, if they could stay at the location for another half hour we had a very good chance to recover the ring. He agreed to mark the location and wait till I could meet them.

When I walked out on the beach near one of the lifeguard towers they were not on the beach, so I called his cellphone. Trinity and Tyler had decided to wait in their car as it was windy and cold. Tyler walked out to show me the general location. Trinity stayed in the car and he told me she was very emotional believing the ring was lost forever. It was very sentimental to her because her mother had recently passed away. 

We got to a blanket that marked where Trinity had been standing when the loss occurred. I took the time to explain to Tyler how the metal detector works as I began a grid search. Within the first eight feet I got a great signal thinking it could be a bottle cap. After shaking the sand out of my scoop, I was surprised to see a yellow gold ring at the bottom. It was a 18k gold Cartier Love Ring. This was Trinity’s ring. It was another quick recovery because Trinity and Tyler were able contact me shortly after losing the ring. Also they stayed in the area to get me to the general area. The metal detector did the rest of the job. It was a privilege to be available help this couple find such a sentimental keepsake.

Minus 40 Celsius! Two Rings Lost! Newton Neighborhood, Edmonton Alberta.

I received a text on Monday February 8th from Alison asking if I was able to help her find her rings which she had lost in her back yard over the weekend.

After talking to Alison and asking many questions I agreed to schedule a time to search but unfortunately the weather was against us due to an arctic vortex clamping down on Alberta with extremely cold windshield values between -40 Celsius and -45it was way too cold to be outside searching for the rings, I assured Alison that her rings are safe where they are and as soon as we have a break in the weather I would come out and find the rings for her.  Friday February 12th we finally got a break in the weather, still cold at -25 Celsius but with hardly any wind! I texted Alison and agreed to meet up with her in the afternoon.

I met up with Alison and she showed me where she was standing on her deck when she shook her hand and both rings flew off and landed somewhere in the back yard.

Alison told me she spent an hour searching for the rings using a rake to sift through the snow but with no luck. With my experience I knew the rings were very close to where she was standing and not where she thought the rings could be.

Within 5 minutes I found one ring so then I knew the other ring was close by and within 12 inches I found the other.

I took both rings to Alison in the house, she was so grateful to have her rings back on her finger – a happy ending!

Lost Keys In The Snow Found In Dearborn Michigan

KEYlightful Reunion!

Got a call from Kayla this morning she said hers keys fell out of her pocket while her and the children were playing in the snow at a park just before dark yesterday. While on her way to meet me her friends car got a flat tire at her house so I said I’ll start the search without her. I turned on my MXT metal detector and searched where she fell on a small hill masked by snow. Nothing there. I started to search their tracks and on one branch of their trail I got a good solid signal. Brushing the snow aside revealed her keys not too far from some playground equipment. Sending a quick pic of them we decided to meet at her house to drop off the keys. Happy that her luck had turned positive with the keys found, we chatted and enjoyed some hot chocolate, and as she lifted the remote start into the air we paused to listen to a smooth start up of the car.

Lost Grandmothers ring found in East Providence RI.

It was late afternoon when I received a message from a very upset Allison.  She had lost her grandmother’s ring while playing with her dog in the snow at a local tennis park. At some point, she removed her gloves, and the ring fell off into the snow.  She didn’t know where the ring fell off.  Allison and her wife tried to find the ring but didn’t have any luck.  They even bought a metal detector and couldn’t find it.  Allison then turned to the internet to see if someone could help her find her grandmother’s ring.  That’s when she found TheRingFinders website and contacted me.  I responded that I would help and was on my way.  When I arrived at the park, it was dark.  I started my search with Allison holding a flashlight.  I walked about 20 feet, and the first target I hit was the ring.  She was very happy to have this family heirloom back.

Lost engagement ring in Easton, PA « FOUND » in a snow pile on city street

I received a text from Chyanee that she lost her engagement ring after slipping and falling in the snow. I immediately returned her call to gather more info. She told me that while exiting her car to go into a store in Easton, PA, she slipped and fell and felt the ring fly off her finger. They searched the streets and piles of snow for over 45 min. with no luck. I just happened to be off work the following day and was able to arrive first thing in the morning. Time was of the essence because a new snow storm was on it’s way and because it was on a city street, we didn’t want the wrong person to find it. Chyanee’s fiancée Nick was able to meet me and show me the area she fell. After about 10 min of searching, I found the ring in a large snow pile on the sidewalk. It was another great find this winter and one of my first in a downtown city.

Tiffany posted a desperate plea on the Winslow Talk Facebook page, asking if someone could help find her husband’s wedding ring. He lost it in the snow yesterday while shoveling. There were two people who referred me to help: Brian, a friend of mine, and Nicole, who has used my service in the past (a one-minute successful search Click here to read that story)
I made arrangements to look for the wedding band after work. It is a thin yellow gold wedding band. They have only been married for 3 months. After Korey lost the ring, he stopped shoveling. So there are about 8 inches of snow on the ground. She did mention that he heard something hit the house when he threw some snow off of the shovel.
That was a great piece of information. I only had to search for about 5 minutes before I uncovered the bright and shiny yellow gold ring. It was within 3 inches of the foundation for the house. Tiffany was shocked that it was found, let alone so fast.
I love my hobby!
