Judie called, seeming a little desperate, asking if I would be able to come and help her find her wedding ring. I let her know I was available, and would leave right away.

It took a while to find parking, but I was able to get to the area quickly. As soon as I got there her husband Rien found me, and led me to where the loss occurred. It amazed Judie and Rien that I was able to find the ring in just a few minutes, after they had spent an enormous amount of time looking for it. They had only been married for 5 months, so this loss was very important to find. I met some very nice people, and was able to allow them to sleep well that night!

Vernon’s wife contacted me about doing a search for his wedding ring he had lost the day before in a small cove at the state beach. We arranged to have him meet me there so he could take me to the area of the loss.

When I got there I met with Vernon, and we walked to the cove he had been in the day before. He showed me what he had done to cause the loss, and where he thought it probably went. I began my search, and it wasn’t long before I had his wedding ring in my scoop. His assessments were correct about where it had gone which made the search very quick. I was happy to get it back to him, and it made for a nice day.

Bill contacted me about his lost ring. He had lost it that day, and was wondering if I would be able to help. I let him know I was available, but he was not going to be able to meet me there. I let him know that if he could give me directions to the area, I would go and do the search for him. He was able to do so, and I was off to do the search.

When I got there, I looked, and compared the photos he had sent, as well as going over the description he had given me of the site. I searched in one area with no luck, and then moved to another area near by that looked trafficked, and proceeded to search. After two passes, I found his ring, and sent him a photo to make sure this was the one I was looking for. He said it was, and we arranged to meet in Santa Monica for the return. For Bill this was a happy experience, because he was on vacation from New York, and did not want to leave his wedding ring in California

I was contacted by Jill who stated her mother thought she had lost her wedding ring while weeding. Her mother was throwing the weeds over an embankment behind her residence and thought her ring flew off. When I initially spoke with Jill the ring had been lost for about three weeks. I was unable to make it out the same day she called me to search but assured her I would make arrangements to look.

A few days later it worked out that I was able to search for the ring. I drove out the residence and met Jill’s mother, Peggy and her dog Missy. Peggy explained to me that her husband had passed away and how important the ring was to her. She did not see the ring fly off her finger but she was pretty certain it was over the embankment. They had searched with a metal detector that they bought and also enlisted the help of a neighbor without any luck.

I looked over the embankment and it was overgrown with weeds and tall grass. I took a few steps and realized that all the vegetation was hiding just how steep the bank was. So I started my grid down and back up the hillside taking note of how far I was down. I was thinking that maybe I had not went down over the hill far enough so I was prepared to have to go further down. I was there working my way though the forest of vegetation when all of a sudden I heard that sweet sound of gold. I had seen a picture of the ring and it was very big so the hit I got was loud and steady. I parted the weeds and looked down and there was the ring….sweet success!!

I climbed back to the top of the hillside and Peggy came out to meet me. When I showed her the ring she was stunned and began to shed tears of joy. It was readily apparent how important the ring was to her. She thanked me numerous times. Before I had started to search she had told me how her dog Missy could do all kinds of tricks. I told Peggy that if I found the ring she could have Missy do a few tricks; so Missy got to perform and was very impressive.

Now that the pressure was off as the ring was found there were a few minutes to chat. It is very interesting to hear the stories of rings that are found and all the other important details that the clients like to share. As always it was great to meet another extremely kind and generous client and reunite her with her treasured keepsake!

Three Gold Coin Charms lost in Emeryville Park…Found!

  • from Walnut Creek (California, United States)

The Bay Area Ring Finders Brendon Chapman… Metal Detecting Service/Call ASAP     925-580-2590

I was contacted by Anna to assist with the location and recovery of three gold coin charms from a park in Emeryville, CA.  Each charm was engraved with the initials of one of the handsome men in her life, the larger one for her husband, and the two smaller for each of her young boys.  These charms were cherished Mother’s Day gifts, so when they fell to the ground and disappeared into the long grass, it was heartbreaking.  When these charms were not located after extensive searching, a quick google search brought Anna to me.

I arranged to meet the family at the park the next evening and requested permission to bring along my three boys.  It was a new and interesting park that I thought they might enjoy and the weather would be much cooler than that further inland.  I met the family and they gave me a quick run down of the who, what, when, and how as well as the exact location.  It didn’t take long to locate the first of three charms, a small one.  A few moments later, the second was recovered, the larger one.  Then for a while…nothing! After a few anxious minutes…beep, beep…We made the Recovery!

Afterward, we talked about the significance of the 3 gold coin charms while the children played in the park.  We took a handful of photos to memorialize the event, and after a while a fun soccer game broke out.  It was a great evening for everyone.

Lost gold Pisces pendant recovered, after over a month in Lake Michigan, Warren Dunes State Park, Sawyer Michigan

  • from Granger (Indiana, United States)

Family heirloom Pisces pendant, lost while at the beach Aug 1st. Was lost in a fairly large area, she thought it was while they were in the water. It was Reese’s grandmother’s pendant, that Reese wears proudly.
I’ve made more than a few search attempts for this one. Her brother Gavin made a detailed map of the area. The odds that no other pirates have found this were slim to none. However, some sand has moved out over the past week, upping the chance of uncovering some things. So I made a spin around the loss area this afternoon. At the tail end of the hunt, I got a iffy iron sounding signal. Opted to dig it, as usual. The glare of the setting sun made it a trick to see in the scoop basket, but I saw a gold colored chain hanging partly out of the scoop basket. Put my hand on that and hoped with all I have, that I’d see a Pisces pendant when I looked in. Sure enough, there it was! They are beyond thrilled to have it back.

Woman’s White Gold Wedding Band Lost in the Sand, Found and Returned Myrtle Beach SC

  • from North Myrtle Beach (South Carolina, United States)

On Monday, September 1st, just before 5:30 pm, I received a text from Laura K. saying, “Can you help me? My wedding band is gone.  Somewhere near 14th street pier. I Scoured where I know it happened. It must have gotten pushed under the sand. Less than an hour after I knew it was gone, I checked on my hands and knees for 20 minutes.” I immediately replied saying, “Call me,” with my phone number. I didn’t hear anything back from her so I figured she found it. I woke up a little late this morning, but had a text from 5:57 am saying, “I missed this last night, sorry! When is good to call? Can you get out there today?? As I’m getting ready to respond, I get a phone text from Laura at 9:02 am saying, “good morning, Jim, this is Laura K. I didn’t want to call you too early, but I can use your help finding my ring asap if you’re available.” This time I had a number to call and called Laura. I told her that unfortunately I had a scheduled search at noon but would probably be available between 3-4 pm. After finishing up the first search, I called Laura, and we agreed to meet at 3:30 pm. Just after 2:30 pm, I got another text from Laura saying, “We will be back in the next 18 minutes. We will wait for you by the Holiday Pavilion Resort Tiki bar right on the boardwalk. I texted Laura back that I’d be there at 3 pm.

When I arrived, I called her to get an idea of where she was on the beach and made my way towards her. When we met, she led the way to where her and her family had been the day before. She pointed out a small area, maybe 10’X5’. I confirmed I was looking for a white gold ring, so I knew the vdi (visual display indicator) on my Equinox 800 would give me a number between 10-12. I started a north/south grid line and on my third line, I hit it!! I got a solid 10 and had no doubt. I took a scoop of sand, checked the hole and had her ring in my scoop. I gently shook the sand out and saw Laura’s ring in the bottom of the scoop. She was standing about 10 feet behind me and watching her kids. So, I held up the ring over my shoulder until she glanced at me and saw me holding her ring. I think it took her a split second to close the distance between us to take her ring. She was extremely excited and called to her husband that I had found it. They were a very excited and gracious couple that gave me a hug from Laura and a handshake from her husband, Chris to close the deal.

Laura – Thank you for calling me and allowing me to help you get your wedding band where it belongs. Wish you all the best.

Jim

Family Heirloom Engagement Ring…. lost, but now… FOUND in Huntsville, Alabama!

  • from Huntsville (Alabama, United States)

Christina McCree – Ring Finder/Metal Detectorist for northern Alabama and southern/middle Tennessee.  Call or text ASAP, anytime 24/7 at 610-504-6135.

I received a call on Friday (August 29th, 2025) in the late afternoon from Gabby.  Gabby’s engagement ring was lost the night before in the front yard at her home in Huntsville, Alabama and she was hoping I could help her find it.  Gabby and her fiancé, Matthew had bought a metal detector, but were unable to find Gabby’s engagement ring, which was a family heirloom – it was Matthew’s grandmother’s ring.  I initially suggested the next morning for a search, but both Gabby and Matthew had to work, so I said I would head out after dinner.

About an hour and a half after Gabby’s call, I headed out for the search.  I met Gabby at her home and I had her show me the area she thought her ring was lost at.  Gabby also showed me a picture of what the gold engagement ring looked like.  I told her she was welcome to go back in the house to relax and I would get to work, letting her know how the search went.  I was using my Minelab Equinox 900 with the 15-inch coil.  I cleared the main area in the front yard and expanded further to the right side, but didn’t find the ring.  I double checked the main area and expanded my grid to the left side.  I was a few feet from the street, when I hit a good tone and saw the outline of a gold ring emerge from the green grass.  It was Gabby’s engagement ring!  Praise the Lord!!

I snapped a few photos of the ring and went to knock on the door to tell Gabby the great news.  Both Gabby and Matthew were so happy and relieved to hear that the ring was found!  Smiles all around 😊 and the reason I do what I do!

Grandmother’s lost ring in Ofallon, Illinois

  • from St. Louis (Missouri, United States)

I was hanging out by my fire pit when I saw the huge shadow of a cicada trying to land on my shoulder.

I got up and started walking towards the house and realized the cicada landed on me. I swiped at it a few times and felt my grandmother’s ring slip from my hand.

My children and I searched for days and nights. I even purchased a metal detector and search on my own but nothing showed up.

A few days later I came across Ring Finder. Jeremy answered on the first ring, arrived the next day and found my ring within minutes.

He was confident, professional and so kind! He turned a really fragile moment around for me in minutes! Thank you Jeremy for finding my grandmothers ring that has been in my family for more than 50 years!
