Gold Wedding Band Lost Right After Wedding-Found!

  • from Chattanooga (Tennessee, United States)

Linsey called me and said they had held a wedding venue in their yard for their daughter and son-in-law. Her yard was quite large and her son-in-law had lost his ring right after the wedding. She had purchased a metal detector but struck out.  Because of the size of the yard I set up a grid search and it took me all of two hours before I found it. Her daughter and son-in-law were out of town at the time.

Avery was soaking up the sun on the beach in Avalon, NJ, when it was time to leave. In the chaos of packing up, she left her chair with her friend. Little did she know, her treasured class ring had slipped out of the cup holder and fallen onto the sand. When her friends departed, they inadvertently took the chair, leaving the ring behind. Avery reached out to me for help. We met on the beach, and she gave me an idea of where they had been sitting. I began a methodical grid search of the first area, but found no targets. I moved on to the second possible area. Suddenly, my metal detector let out a great signal! Digging down, I was thrilled to see the glint of Avery’s ring in the sand. It was a great day in Avalon, NJ.

LOST RING IN IOWA, LOUISIANA – FOUND

  • from Lafayette (Louisiana, United States)
Contact:

Emerson called me on Memorial Day weekend to help find a ring he lost while cutting the grass. We agreed that I would travel to the site on Tuesday. The area was a 3-acre grassed site behind his office.  He cut it with a zero-turn lawnmower. The area was level and the grass was short.  Trash had jammed the blade at one point. He thought the ring may have come off his finger as he was clearing the blade. I set up a 30’ x 40’ box around the area and began searching from one corner. Fifteen seconds later the detector sounded, and the ring was recovered.

Thank you, Emerson, for your very generous reward!

How to Find a Lost Ring in the Sand: Expert Tips from NJ Ring Finder Edward Trapper

  • from Lavallette (New Jersey, United States)

I was at a family barbecue on a holiday weekend when I received a call from Jodi. She was at a private beach club  and had lost a cherished family heirloom ring. The ring was deeply sentimental, and she was understandably distressed. Unfortunately, I couldn’t make it out that day due to bad thunderstorms rolling through the area—it’s never safe to be on the beach during lightning. The good thing was the location was private and no detectorists would be there.

I asked Jodi to open Google Maps, take an aerial screenshot of the location, and mark the spot where her chairs had been set up when the ring was lost. After she sent it over, I called her back to clarify a few details. We made arrangements for me to arrive first thing the next morning, Jodi also coordinated with the groundskeeper to ensure I’d have access to the beach.

Early the next morning, I arrived and started heading toward the marked location. As I walked, I noticed a large red cone directly in my path. I thought, That cone looks like it might be near the spot. Sure enough, Jodi had placed it right where she thought the ring had fallen—something she’d forgotten to mention!

Within just a couple of minutes of scanning the area, I got a strong, promising signal. I carefully used my sand scoop, sifting through the soft white sand. And there it was—Jodi’s beautiful ring! I took a few pictures of the find since Jodi hadn’t arrived yet.

When Jodi arrived about 20 minutes later, I handed her the ring. She was amazed and overjoyed. As we talked, she shared the story behind the ring: it was custom-made piece, with three birthstones, representing her three daughters, making it irreplaceably sentimental.

The Cross in the Sand Brigantine NJ

Juan had been looking forward to his weekend at Brigantine Beach for weeks. The sun was high, the ocean breeze perfect, and the wide stretch of sand made for the ultimate soccer field. With friends visiting from out of town, he kicked off his sandals and joined a fast-paced game near the dunes, laughter and shouts blending with the rhythm of the crashing waves.

But after a slide tackle into the soft sand, Juan sat up with a sinking feeling. He reached for his chest instinctively—his gold cross was gone.

The game came to a stop as everyone joined in the search, scanning the golden grains around the makeshift soccer area. Minutes stretched into an hour. Juan’s heart ached; he had worn that cross every day since he was young. It wasn’t about the gold—it was what it represented.

Defeated, with the joy of the day slipping away. That’s when someone nearby mentioned Ring Finders South Jersey—that John specialized in finding lost items on the beach using metal detectors. With nothing to lose, Juan made the call.

A Love Ring’s Journey: A Beach Recovery Story

The waves lapped gently at the Ocean City shoreline as Ken made his way to the water’s edge. It was supposed to be a perfect weekend getaway with his girlfriend, soaking up the New Jersey sun and salt air. But sometimes life has other plans.

Ken had just wanted to rinse the stubborn beach sand from his hands. A simple task — until he felt that heart-stopping moment when his Cartier LOVE ring, usually snug on his finger, wasn’t there anymore. The panic set in immediately.

The couple spent frantic minutes sifting through the sand, their romantic afternoon turning into an increasingly desperate search. The ring could have been anywhere: in the soft sand where they’d been sitting, or worse, pulled away by the ocean’s persistent tide.

That’s when they remembered hearing about Ring Finders South Jersey, finding lost rings in Ocean City, New Jersey. One phone call later, help was on the way.

Within fifteen minutes, their metal-detecting expert arrived, ready to tackle the search. The first sweep of the ocean proved fruitless, but experience had taught him not to give up so easily. What could have been a weekend remembered for loss became a story of relief and gratitude. The couple’s smiles said it all: sometimes the best moments are not the ones we plan. The ones where things work out just when we need them to.

Lost Wedding Ring, Point Pleasant Beach NJ, recovered by Edward Trapper, NJ Ring Finder

  • from Lavallette (New Jersey, United States)

Valerie called, asking if I could come to the beach to help find her brother’s wedding ring. They had all been at the beach the day before, playing spike ball behind their towels, and it was only later that evening that her brother realized his ring was missing. They were sure it had to be where they had been playing. I told her I could head out that evening, after the beach cleared a bit, as it was a hot, busy day. I also mentioned that the beach they were at was heavily searched by metal detectorists after hours. Luckily, the area where they had been playing was farther back from the typical search zones.

I arrived at the beach about 30 minutes before Valerie and began searching based on the pictures and aerial map she had sent. I hadn’t had any luck when I noticed a text from Valerie and her friend, Dave, letting me know they had arrived. I showed them the area I had already covered, and they realized they were actually about 50 to 75 feet farther back than they initially thought. Fortunately, the area was still clear despite the warm evening.

After about 15 minutes of searching in the new area, I got a solid tone on my metal detector. Sure enough, it was what we believed to be her brother’s wedding ring. Valerie wasn’t certain at first, but after texting her brother, he confirmed it was his. We took a few pictures and did a video call with him to share the good news. He was so grateful to have his wedding band back. Another successful recovery!

Kind woman with dementia lost ring while gardening

  • from Pacifica (California, United States)

I received a call from the niece of a kind older woman who lives in a lovely mid-century modern home designed by Joseph Eichler. #housegoals
She told me that her aunt had lost a ring while gardening but that she didn’t believe she knew where she actually lost it, due to dementia. My instinct was to trust « Eva » over the niece who just seemed to be annoyed by her aunt’s diminished mental faculties. And I am glad that I did.
The dirt was hard-packed but there were a few trees with ivy around the bases and one tree with a bench built in a square around the base. This was the spot Eva thought she lost the ring. When she told me that I caught the niece’s eyes, she rolled them and walked away. I did a preliminary swing around the trees and benches with my small coil to get into the nooks and in to the ivy. Then I returned to the area where Anna said she lost the ring. Detecting along the fence line a glimmer of silver caught my eye and there it was! Her cherished Scandinavian silver ring lying just beneath the gap under the fence right next to where she knew it would be. She was right all along.
