Lost Wedding Band Reunited With Owner, Falmouth, Massachusetts

  • from Falmouth (Massachusetts, United States)
Contact:

Four years ago, Matt approached me while I was metal detecting offshore on a local beach.  He’d just lost his wedding band in the water and asked if I’d mind looking for it.  I was glad to help, and after he showed me the area where it was lost I searched for several hours but was unable to find the ring.  When it came time to leave I looked for Matt but he had left.  All I had was his first name and information he’d given me about the words that were engraved inside his ring.

Fast forward a year.  Detecting in the same area, just for fun and relaxation, I found the ring.  There was no doubt about it — the engraving was exactly as Matt had described it.  But what could I do to track him down?  I tried posting notices at the beach and on Craig’s List without success, then finally gave up, set the ring aside, and forgot about it.

I’m not a social media enthusiast but recently became aware of a social group for our town on Facebook, and I thought it would be worthwhile to try a post there.  Within half an hour after posting « Matt I found your wedding ring » with some appropriate details I had a call from Matt, who correctly identified the ring!  I arranged to meet Matt and his family at the beach and the ring was soon back on his finger where it belonged.  Matt said that getting his ring back after so long ‘made the summer for him and his family’.  The feeling was truly mutual.  I’m really pleased, and frankly somewhat amazed, that this finally worked out to be a successful return!

Lost Wedding Band, Pensacola Beach – FOUND!!!

  • from Orange Beach (Alabama, United States)

Brayden called me on Friday explaining that he was out in the Gulf throwing football at Pensacola Beach when his wedding band came flying off of his hand. I talked him through what happened and asked him my standard questions about the time of day so I could check the tides, etc. We decided that I would come out the next morning at 7am. I got there and Brayden’s family joined him and explained that the young couple had only been married for 6 months. I said we definitely needed to find it so they could start off with a great story. We made our way to the beach and I got my bearings as I headed out to just over waist deep water. I slowed down and made my first turn as I pushed a big jellyfish out of the way with my scoop handle. I barely went another foot or two and got a great tone. Rarely am I confident on the first tone and first scoop of the search but sure enough, I looked into the scoop and saw Brayden’s gold wedding band shining back in less than 3 minutes. They were thrilled when I walked back up. I think Brayden’s dad said it best when he exclaimed, “we didn’t think it was even possible to find the ring in all that water, much less so quickly.” 😃 Brayden, it was nice meeting you. You have a great family. Good luck and God bless you all.

Lost Wedding Ring Found in London Backyard

I was so happy to have helped and find this women’s wedding ring! In her backyard while sitting on her patio, she raised her hand and the wedding ring slipped off into the grass. With some extensive searching and no finds, they contacted me for the final search!

Gold Wedding Ring Lost in Calhoun, GA-Found!

  • from Chattanooga (Tennessee, United States)

I received a text this past Monday 11th from a wife.  She said her husband had lost his wedding band in the backyard about a month ago while cleaning out a pool skimmer trap.  She was searching the internet and came across www.theringfinders.com where she found my contact information.  I made the trip to Calhoun that afternoon and met up with her.  She said her husband was still at work, but should be there pretty soon.  She said they had actually purchased a metal detector for themselves, but no luck in finding the ring.  When Alfred got home he was showing me how he lost his ring cleaning the skimmer with his left hand and throwing the trash over the chain link fence with an underhand motion.  He said he felt the ring leave his hand but didn’t see where it went.  With that underhand throwing motion I immediately figured the ring had gone over and into the brushy area behind the fence.  I eliminated the grass and the plant bed first of course, but no luck.  With the chain link fence there I couldn’t get close to it at all without sending my detector into an overload condition.  So that part would have to be searched by hand if I didn’t find the ring back in the brush.  I started back behind the fence, (poison ivy there too), as well as a snake, but didn’t get a good look at it, it was leaving the area.  I started from the right side and went left directly at the back of the fence.  The second pass was from the left back to the right, on a steep slope.  Of course I was finding bits of metal trash, we all do.  On the third pass from right to left I got to right where I figured the ring could have gone with that underhanded throw.  The first thing I found there was a rusted bottle cap, then about three feet away I got two signals on my CTX.  A strong 12:40 showing four inches, but literally inches away from that signal was another one, a strong 12:28 showing one inch.  I hadn’t seen it yet, but that 12:28 at one inch brought a grin to my face.  I stooped over and under my coil I saw a faint hint of something shining back at me.  I snapped a picture of it before I moved it, and you can barely catch a glimpse of something out of place under the layer of leaves.  The 12:40 signal turned out to be a toy car.  The search took about 1.5 hours.

Story goes….
The couples 5 yr old son had a mini treasure chest he was playing with, and mom/dad allowed him to put their wedding rings into it. What could go wrong? Right? They were right by him, walking up their driveway towards the street. They started playing around and chased the 5 yr old. Apparently to get the box back or jokingly get it back. Well, the boy decided to throw it to home plate from first base! 😱🤣 Mom saw her ring hit the ground then disappear! Son found the box, dad found his ring, but moms ring was nowhere to be found! After hours of searching and moving leaves, they finally found me on “THE RING FINDERS. Com” and asked for help!
It was a 2 hour drive one-way to get to their house and try to find it.
I get there, get the backstory and the general area to search. I searched and searched for almost an hour. I was beginning to lose hope. I then started expanding my search area and got up to the natural area and went around a small cedar tree when I get a VDI 51-53! I bend down and BOOM! There’s the shiny object I had been looking for!!! It had traveled from the street, through the cedar tree and landed about 8 inches from the base under it and under a bunch of leaves!

I received a call from Mark, saying he had lost his 14K white gold class ring in a field with high grass. Along with a few other items. I agree to meet him yesterday after work. Once I get there, I realize this one is going to be like finding a needle in a haystack with how tall the grass was. I finally had to use my truck to flatten down some of the high grassy areas.

I geared up and began swinging and listening to all the tones. I wasn’t 100% sure what this ring would sound like, since I have never found a man’s High School class ring yet.

After about 3.5 hours of swinging, fighting the heat, sweating, bugs and high grass I called it a night. I decided to return the next day, since I had to come back up that way already for something else.

I used my truck again, to flatten down more high grassy areas so I could have better chance at finding this ring. After about another 2 hours of swinging, sweating and digging signals to get them out of the way. I finally get that sweet sound of GOLD!! Solid VDI 53 on the Garrett AT MAX w/the Reaper coil!! BOOM it had been found. I called Mark up and we met up while he was working his Amazon route nearby to return his ring to him!

I love doing this for folks. I wish I could find them all, but I especially love the ones I am able to find and return!!

Gold ring recovered in Spring Lake NJ by Dennis Burlingame

Got a call from Victoria asking for help in finding a ring special to her she lost at Spring Lake Beach NJ. While enjoying the day with her mother at the beach, she took off all her rings to brush her hair seeing the length and a little breezy out she didn’t want them to get caught in her hair. She put them on the towel between their chairs but not knowing her mom lifted the towel and they dropped into the sand. They found all but one. After a few passes I found her ring just off to the side where the towel was. She was glad to get her ring back that ment so much to her. Another happy ending for all.

Aggie Ring and Wedding Ring Lost in MUCK in Ennis, Texas Lake

  • from Dallas (Texas, United States)
Contact:

We got a call from a young man who had been riding a horse with his wife and decided to cross the lake to the island in the center.  As they entered the MUCKed Up section the young man’s horse sank up to his belly in the MUCK.  He crawled off his horse and crawled through the MUCK to the shore.  Concerned that they would need a tractor to get his horse out he sent his wife to get a ranch hand to assist.  But the horse was able to break free and get himself out.  Then he realized that both his Aggie Ring and his Cobalt Ring were gone.  He looked over at the MUCK and thought the worst.  He may never see his rings again.

Then he checked the all knowing “Google” to rent a metal detector and during his search the Dallas Ring Finders listing came up.  We scheduled to come in the next day.  We were able to locate both rings in under a minute, see the full video on our channel “Dallas Ring Finders”, another happy customer  for the Dallas Ring Finders.

Ring Found! Orange Beach

  • from Orange Beach (Alabama, United States)

Tanner called me Thursday about a lost ring.
It belonged to his grandmother and his mother and his wife was wearing it close to the shore with her baby in her arms. The baby wiggled around a little bit and the ring slid off her finger. She had the wherewithal to watch it drop and put her foot on it so that she could mark its location and then waved to get some of the other family members to come give her a hand. Unfortunately there was a little bit of Surf that day, a wave hit her, pushed her around a little bit and she lost the spot where the ring fell. Tanner and his whole family had come over from the Fort Worth area for a vacation. They had aunts, uncles, cousins, lots of kids, his mother, father, there was a whole group of them and the whole topic of conversation was worrying about that ring. When I got there they pointed out about where it could be. I have a top-of-the-line Metal Detector designed for the water. Fortunately they knew pretty closely to where it was lost and it hadn’t been in the water but a day. I got lucky on this recovery and within about 15 minutes I located it to everybody delight. With that recovery i’m sure I made everyone happy. The vacation was saved, nothing to worry about anymore and I was just happy that I could be part of that.

WEDDING BAND LOST IN SAND FOUND OCEAN CITY NJ By Ring Finders South Jersey John Favano

Lost a ring?

Don’t wait to call!

Peter was sitting on the beach in Ocean City, NJ when he decided to take his wedding band off and place it in the cup holder of his beach chair. He packed up his belongings later in the day, forgetting that the ring was still in the cup holder. He realized it was missing after he got home and gave me a call. Shortly after a quick grid search with my metal detector, I got the signal for the white gold wedding band and it was back on finger in no time.
