Men’s Tungsten Wedding Band Recovered in Narberth, PA

While at work in early November 2019 Tom contacted me regarding a lost heavy tungsten wedding band. He told me that he was 100% positive that it slipped off his finger while landscaping the front yard of his office. Prior to contacting me he had spent several hours removing all the shrubs he planted and digging through mulch and dirt looking for the ring. Amazingly, he also shared that he rented a metal detector and attempted to scan the area himself. When I met with him I shared with him the fact that despite of hearing of countless times of people renting metal detectors to search on their own…it is rarely productive. Usually the machines you rent are not sophisticated enough to find the lost item  and more importantly the experience of the operator in these searches far exceeds the machine itself.

When I met Tom i first did what I always do…show him my equipment and demonstrate how it works. I want him to be 100% confident that if his ring is there I’m going to find it. And find it I did…in 2 minutes! Tom was amazed and extremely happy I was able to return his ring to him…he later texted me that his wife was even happier!

Lost rings in grass, Orlando, Florida…….Found and Returned!

Heidi called me Saturday afternoon and asked if there was any chance I could help her find two very important rings in some thick grass. I assured her I would come right away and off I went. Here is the story in Heidi’s own words.

« At the close of a recent trip to Disney, my husband and I were walking along a path back to our resort, (Shades of Green) to pick up our luggage and make our way to the airport for an afternoon flight home. I carelessly took off my engagement ring, (and therefore, anniversary band, which I wear above it) to wipe something off of the stone. When my husband warned me to worry about that later because I might drop them, I jumped off the path into the grass and juggled them around, in what I intended to be good-natured teasing. Then, like clock work, I dropped them! Even though I had what I thought was a perfect idea of where they landed, the deep Florida grass ate them up and a couple of hours (and a missed flight) later we still had nothing to show for our « hands-and-knees search! Needless to say, my husband and I were both in panic mode. A quick google search led me to Mike, and what a godsend! Not only did he answer his phone right away, but he dropped everything to come out and help us right away as well!

As soon as he arrived, his friendly and helpful demeanor, clear knowledge and positive attitude put us at ease immediately. We just knew he would find them! Even with the electrical interference and underground lighting and sprinkler systems of the resort, he found both rings in under a half hour and in the dark! We were able to hop on a flight later that evening and get home before my husband’s military leave ended-saving us even more trouble. Mike totally saved us from what could have been an absolutely disastrous ending to the trip! We went from thinking that the ring my husband proposed with was gone forever, to being back in our home state of Virginia only a few hours later all safe and sound! Thank you so much Mike »

Lost Yellow Gold Mans Wedding Band Lost/Found At Dewey Beach Delaware

On 09/22/19 I received a text from Patrick regarding the loss of his gold wedding band on the beach in Dewey Beach, Delaware. Patrick had taken his ring off his finger, placed it inside of his baseball cap and set the baseball cap down on the beach with the rest of the items that he had brought to the beach. Patrick had placed his wedding band in the baseball cap for safe keeping while he went swimming. Patrick then forgot that he put his ring in the baseball and upon placing the baseball cap on his head a while later the ring fell out of the cap into the soft sand disappearing out of sight. I agreed to meet Patrick at the location of the lost ring so that I could search for it. Upon my arrival Patrick pointed out the area where he believed that the ring had fallen into the sand. I got right to work and began doing a grid search and on my first pass I located the lost wedding band and presented it back to Patrick.

Lost White Gold Wedding ring lost in CDA Idaho, Was Found!!

The same choices made everyday are often the same choices made right before one might lose their ring. Likewise for Jamie, when her husband had come home she brought out her two wound up dogs for their moonlight walk. The air’s cool grip clung on tight that night but never the less when the walk was finished the dogs, Jamie’s husband and Jamie all had fun playing around in the pile of leaves. The playing in the leaves came to a close and the family retired back into the house. Upon a quick glance and with a rapid heart beat « my ring is missing » slipped out of Jamie’s mouth. The search was on. Flashlights and retraced steps left both Jamie and her husband at a loss. The next morning the dogs where lethargic with Jamie’s sadness. The only thing Jamie could possibly do was surfed the web for answers. The Knot, a wedding website, told her to call The Ring Finders. So Jamie sent me a frantic text, « I lost my ring are you still available? » I quickly called her and talked about the unfortunate night she had been through and then made arrangements to meet her after work. I knew that the ring could be anywhere in the leaves, on the path they took, in the yard, or on someone else’s hand. Hopeful I took off on my search. A quick pass in the pile of leaves, a stroll through the yard and back in the pile of leaves lead me straight to her ring. With a bit of confidence I looked over my shoulder at Jamie walking beside me and gave her a smile.  » If this signal isn’t your ring I’ll be surprised, »I said. I bent down and slowly pulled back the pile of leaves and revealed Jamie’s lost ring. The choice to enjoy life and have fun is always best, but when something like a lost ring steals away the joy, make sure to remember A Ring Finder is near and willing to help. Lost Wedding Ring… Found Cedar Rapids, Iowa

I received an email from Lynnetia about her husband Aarons lost wedding ring. He had been trimming a tree in their front yard about two weeks ago and realized his ring was missing.

They then purchased a cheaper metal detector and found some things but not his ring. They then found me on the ringfinder site. I went to look for it yesterday and was happy to find it right by the tree.

They were overjoyed that it was found. It was a pleasure to help this nice young couple.

Wedding Band Lost in the Dry Sand, Found and Returned at Ocean Isle Beach NC

My wife and I had just sat down and ordered dinner when I got a text message saying “Hi, is this Jim the ring finder?” I called the number and talked to Blythe, who stated she was on the beach taking photos and when she stood up and brushed the sand off her pants, her Tungsten wedding ring went flying. I told her that I’d be there between 9:30 and 10.

After dinner, I dropped my wife off at home, grabbed my gear, texted Blythe telling her I’d be there in about 30 minutes. When I got to the beach, I met Blythe, Cassi and their dog, Jasper. It was very dark as we made our way out to the beach and the area both Blythe and Cassi were sure they were when Blythe’s ring came off. I turned my Equinox 800 on, literally took two steps and got a solid 17 on the machine. I knew I had Blythe’s Tungsten ring. This is the type of ring searches we pray for – lost in the dry sand, and the owner putting us in the exact spot! I scooped the sand up, checked the hole and knew I had the ring in the scoop. As I shook the sand out of the scoop, I heard the familiar sound of a metal ring clanging in the bottom of the scoop. Cassie and Blythe heard it too. I walked over to Blythe, holding the scoop out for her to pluck her wedding band out. Cassie kept saying “you found it already?” Big smiles and hugs, and I think Jasper even got a little excited.

Blythe and Cassie, thank you for trusting me to help find your lost treasure! Have a great rest of your trip and a safe drive home.

Lost New GoPro in Iowa Marsh

The following story is from a local Nature Photographer who contacted me because he lost his GoPro

This picture says it all. I was paddling my kayak in about 30-degree temperatures when a spindly little branch knocked my 2-month old GoPro camera into moving water that was deep. In fact, the water was deeper than my chest-high waders were tall.

Finding this was more than just finding a nearly new GoPro camera. Along with the camera was a mount, a small tripod, and a high capacity memory card. Obviously the value of this was more than just replacing a camera.

I contacted Jason Scanlan at “The Ringfinders” to discuss running a metal detector in the cold, moving water. Within ten-minutes of searching there was a “beep” in the headphones and I knew where to scoop with a long-handled net. Another minute or so later and I had my GoPro camera and equipment back in my hands. I pressed the power button and was able to watch the recorded journey my camera took after being knocked off of my kayak.

Beautiful Gold and Diamond Engagement Ring Recovered in New Castle, DE

While at work on Wednesday I received a call from Krissy regarding a lost diamond engagement ring. Krissy communicated to me that several days earlier she was at a playground in New Castle, DE and while playing with her 2 year old her ring slipped off her finger. She was very upset and very convinced that the ring fell off in a very specific part of the  playground and slipped beneath the rubber mulch. Prior to calling me, she and her husband and several others had spent quite a bit of time on hands and knees looking for the lost ring. I told Krissy I would meet her at the playground on Friday afternoon.

We met at 3 pm, Friday afternoon at the playground. After introductions I did what I always do when I meet people who have asked for my help…I show them how all my equipment works. I do this for 2 reasons…1) I want them to feel confident that if the ring is there I’m going to find it and 2) If I cover the entire area in my search they can be 100% confident that it must be somewhere else!

We walked around the playground and she pointed to the specific area that she was horsing around the most with her 2 year old. My intent was to start there and basically cover the entire playgrou nd if I had to. I didn’t have to!!! About 3 minutes into the search I heard a sweet low tone in my headphones…my pinpointer immediately identified her ring about 3 inches deep in the rubber mulch. I said Krissy….and pointed.  The emotion of seeing her ring got the best of her for a second and then it was just pure joy for both of us. This job as a Ringfinder is so much funner when you’re successful in finding the lost item and Krissy’s joy made my day!!!
