Lost Mens Platinum Wedding Band Found On Lewes Beach In Delaware

On 07/08/16, I was contacted by a gentleman regarding the loss of his Platinum « Jeff Cooper » wedding band with a Diamond that was lost on Lewes Beach in Delaware. I was told that he was in about two to three foot of water when his daughter reached up to grab his hand at which time she accidentally pulled his wedding band off of his finger and it fell into the water. The gentleman stated that he was no more then ten feet in the water from the shore. The gentleman told me that on the day and time that his ring was lost that he believed that it was mid high tide. Trying to make the best of the lowest tide possible I responded to Lewes Beach on the morning of 07/12/16 at about 8:10 am. I found that the low tide water line was about ten to twelve feet from the high tide water line. I began my grid search after marking an area that was about ten feet wide from the low tide water mark up to the high tide water mark by about twenty feet long. About half way through my grid search just inches above the low tide water line I received a good tone in my headset. I took one scoop out of the wet sand and dumped it on the beach. About half way through the mound of the scooped sand I located the lost ring. The rings owner was from out of town, I made contact with him to let him know that his wedding band had been found and also to find out what arraignments he wanted to make with me regarding the return of his ring. The rings owner was very happy that his ring had been found and he requested that I keep it safe until it could be returned to his wife nine days later. The ring was returned safe and sound on 07/21/16.

Alyssa was enjoying a day at the beach with her family, when she noticed that the ring she had put in her pocket was missing. She was pretty sure it happen out in the sand where her kids were playing after she had pulled her phone out of the same pocket. Alyssa’s sister told her about The Ring Finders and Alyssa contacted me. I hot footed it down there (actually just joined the rest of the maddening crowd inching our way to the beach!) and circled for another 1/2 hour before getting lucky on a parking space. After discussing the particulars on ring size, metal, search area, etc, I started a pass through the sand. My first target was a nice gold ring sound, but, turned out to be a partial pull tab. (not a big surprise in this area). The second target was the same sound and  I.D. number (12-09 on my E-trac), but, was her ring. A happy Alyssa and another satisfying return. Knee deep surf and 2 scoops down was a class ring! It was recovered using my Excalibur II. After 20 minutes of Internet searching and 2 phone calls, the ring was set to be returned. Devon lost the ring in the high tide surf throwing seaweed at friends. 2 weeks later, I found the ring and happened to work 20 miles from Valley Forge Military Academy where Devon is working a summer camp and also graduated. The ring was returned! Devon said that he thought he would never see it again!

Diamond Wedding Band Lost at Venice Beach, CA…Recovered and Joyously Returned.

I got a call from Rose this afternoon about a ring she lost in the sand at the beach. She had taken her rings off to apply sunscreen, and not remembering they were on her shirt, she kind of flipped it over head to place it behind her, and the rings (5 in all) went flying. A couple of them landed on her, but 3 were gone. She searched, and was able to find 2 more, but the diamond band was elusive. I told her that I would leave immediately.

When I arrived parking was a bear, but I finally got to her location, and she showed me what had happened. I moved everything out of the way to search, and began. I was getting feedback from her sand chair, so I moved it out of the way, and was looking down right at the ring. I reached down and handed it to her. She was very surprised, because she had already looked in the same place, so maybe the movement of the chair when she replaced it, and when I moved it out of the way shifted the sand in such a way that it was exposed again. Needless to say Rose was very happy to have it back, and had that load of the loss removed. Great day.

Platinum Wedding Band Lost at Venice Beach, CA…Found and Joyfully Returned to Florida.

Back on July 15th Joanna sent me a text asking for my help. She and her family had been down at Venice Beach 5 days prior, where her husband had removed his ring to apply sunscreen and laid it in the grass where they were sitting. When they got back to the hotel where they were staying he realized the ring was gone. They called some of the places back on the beach to see if someone could go and find it for them, with no luck. I told Joanna, that in such a public place, with so much time having gone by, that the chances of finding the ring had diminished considerably. I asked her to call me so I could ask her about the loss, when she told me that she and the family had already gone back to their home in Florida. I asked if she could help me narrow down the search area, and she sent me pictures of the place, and where they were sitting when her husband removed the ring; I knew right where the area was, and told her I would go and search the next day.

When I arrived at the spot it turned out to be rather small with good grass growth, so I was a bit hopeful. I began my search, and found numerous items, but all too deep to have been the ring, so I just kept searching. I then received a good shallow signal, and used my pinpointer to verify the signal, and found the ring. Needless to say I was very excited, it was a big solid platinum ring, and I could see the engraving that Joanna had told me about. I took the attached picture, and sent it to Joanna, saying « You’ll never believe what was still there after 6 days. » She wrote « Oh my God », and « I’m shaking », and I answered that I know, I almost did a dance right there in front of everyone.

She had worked and saved her money to buy that ring for her future husband, so the meaning behind it was deep. I sent it off to her, and when she received it she sent me the attached picture of her and the ring. What she thought was lost forever, was now safely back in their family. I am so happy to have helped them out, and honored that she trusted me, someone she had never met to do this search for her. I was definitely blessed to receive a picture like this with a great and happy smile. Joanna posted the story on Facebook, and it went viral. Lost Ring On Lewes Beach In Delaware Found

On 06/16/2016, I was contacted by a gentleman regarding the loss of a Platinum wedding band belonging to his wife that had been lost in the sand on Lewes Beach. The gentleman indicated that his wife had been digging in the sand at the time that the ring was lost. The gentleman asked if I could assist in finding the lost ring, I told him that I would be at the location of the lost ring in about fifteen minutes. After arriving at Lewes Beach I made contact with the gentleman and he showed me the area on the beach where the ring was lost in the sand. I began a grid search of the area and on my second pass the ring was located, recovered and returned to its rightful owner. IMG_1560

Beautiful Diamond and Diamond Encrusted Wedding Ring Lost at Santa Monica Beach, CA…Found and Returned With Great Joy.

Joni called me earlier today upset because of losing her wedding ring at the beach yesterday, she thought it might just be lost for good, but held out some hope that I might be able to help her. I told her I would meet her at the beach so she could show me where she thought it might have come off. She said it would take her a while, because at the time she was about 150 miles away, so I waited for her to let me know when she was close, so I could leave to meet her.

I met Joni at the beach, she showed me where she thought the ring had come off, and explained what she was doing when she thought she lost it. She had brushed the sand off her clothes, and it flew off during that action. I began my search working my way out from the initial area, finding foil and bottle caps. I felt like I had moved out far enough, and then increased the length of my grid. I was out about 20 feet from the original area when I received the signal  I was waiting for. I put in my scoop, and up comes this beautiful diamond ring. Joni could see it in the scoop, and came right over to see if it was hers. I held it up , and a flood of emotion came over her. She told me how she had not been able to even sleep last night because of this loss. It was sure great to leave the beach after being able to create such a wonderful smile.

Custom Wedding Ring Lost at Venice Beach, CA…Recovered and Joyously Returned.

We know each ring has its story, and each one so very important to its owner, and when it is lost that story ends, that is why we search, to renew the story. I received a call from Bill yesterday concerning his wedding ring he had lost just a couple of hours earlier in the sand. He had taken the ring off to apply sunscreen, and placed it on his shoe so it would not be lost, but was then asked by a worker in the area to move so they could do some work. Without thinking about his ring, he picked up his shoes, and got out of the way. As soon as he got to the new spot, he realized the mistake, and started to search for it. The sand at this beach is very fine, and the ring was swallowed up instantly. We agreed to meet about 1 1/2 hours later, as he had already gone home, and my wife had just made me a meal. He also asked if a sifter would help, and I told him nothing would hurt, but trying to find a ring with a sifter could lead to a significant amount of frustration, and despair.

When I got to the beach with Bill, he showed me the area, and I could see that it was a pretty good size. He also had a sifter in a bag, but said that when he got there, he realized it would be a job to sift the entire area, so he waited for me. Well, I got right to work, and began my grid from the widest point inward. After a couple of passes and a few coins, I got a good solid nonferrous hit in my headphones, and dug. Up comes my scoop with a bright and shiny ring in it, I gave out a shout, and almost did a little dance. I turned and showed Bill, and could see a wave of emotion come over him. When he was holding the newly recovered ring, he shared its story with me, and I understood his reaction.

He had been with his future wife for 7 years before they were to marry, and when he decided to ask her, he decided to approach her father first. Apparently his future Father in Law thought a lot of him, and offered to make his wedding ring, as he was an artisan in making jewelry. At this time Bill had been married for 11 years, and his Father in Law, passed away just one month ago. I could tell that this became a double loss to Bill, and it grieved him sorely to have lost this precious reminder of his bride’s father. I was certainly glad to have made his day.

Ring lost at Ocean Beach Found.

Bradford and his wife were visiting from out of town and enjoying a day at the beach on the 4th until Bradford lost his wedding ring in the late afternoon in ankle deep water. It disappeared into the sand and no way it would be found with the naked eye.100_1456 100_1457 They returned the next morning hoping they could spot it, but, it was not to be. They saw several people with metal detectors searching the beach that morning, but, nobody had found it. Some even tried to help by searching the target area, but, the ring didn’t show itself. Disappointed, They went home.

I got the call for help on the 6th, and, even though I thought it likely someone had already found it, I heading down to the beach to give it my best, and ease their minds that it wasn’t still just laying there. After close to an hour of carefully gridding the area and not a single target (good or bad!), I figured my assessment was correct and the area had been hammered by other detectorists. Just then, my Excalibur gave me a nice big signal, and low and behold, it was Bradford’s ring! Surprise and satisfaction for me, and happiness for Bradford. He and his wife drove down today and were reunited with the ring. A pleasure meeting you both and thank you for the reward.
